I bought a top of the line Buderus oil boiler from them a few years ago to the tune of about $8,000 installed, I have since spent another $2000 in maintenance over the next two years because it never worked reliably since it was installed.I was charged for the privilege of trouble shooting the unit which would randomly turn off and dump water all over my basement (because thats how the thermostat is designed!). Techs would come in and scratch their heads replacing wires that were brand new or ignition coils, basically everything except the thermostat. On the last tech visit I got an honest guy who lets slip Oh yeah, all of those thermostats are defective, weve been replacing them as they fail. For how long theyve known that fact and declined to inform their customers, Ill never know. I paid ~$500 for that too and low and behold all of my problems went away.Recently I proposed to the owner, Mike, that I didnt think it was fair that I paid for their mistakes in choosing this combination of boiler and thermostat. When you hire a heating company, youre buying their expertise to do a job like this right the first time. He started making excuses about how he couldnt have known that it was defective etc. Basically hes a victim too so I should just take a bath.I wished to be made whole by applying those costs as a credit toward my next years oil budget. He declined my proposal. So Im going to find someone else to get oil from for the next 30 years. If you need a pump jockey, Mikes your guy. If you want someone who will stand behind their installation work and wants to keep their customers happy and satisfied, you should look elsewhere.
Our furnace broke (no heat) on Thanksgiving.CVW came on Friday and said it needed a new motor.Since then, weve heard NOTHING. No plan, no infoon when a new motor might be coming, NOTHING.They dont return our calls. They basically tookthe money on friday and ran.Shame on you Crawford Wenzel and Vogel.
We use CVW for our oil delivery and annual servicing. They are always polite and we never have to call to ask for oil... It is always delivered around half a tank.
We were given a quote to replace the furnace in a property from Evenflo Heating. They were bought out by this company and we were told by the new owners they would absolutely guarantee the price on the original quote to have the work done.... that was with the new and previous owner, on site. Then they stopped calling us back after scheduling the service, never showed to get the work done, then after 2 weeks of trying to coordinate with them, said they would need to raise the price of the job $2,500... for the exact same parts and service, not because anything additional was needed.... So not only are they liars, but crooks. Will never do business nor recommend them in the future.
They are rip offs. They charge you for oil that was never delivered. I was home on the day they supposedly delivered, however there is no oil in my tank and I would have seen them. They have ignored my call. Dont trust them.
