Great place to take pics. Fish are awesome. Clothing is really expensive and we usually just walk around and feed the fish. Dont usually buy anything as its like 196. A shirt.
We recently visited the Orvis Store at 4382 Main Street, Manchester, VT.We were warmly greeted by Monica Finan, Sales Associate, and were asked how she could help us. Monica helped us find two matching vests, and a shirt/jacket. One of the items needed to come from the warehouse, and Monica went out of her way to arrange for a speedy shipment to our home. She was happy to provide size and fit opinions, and made us feel comfortable with our selections and purchases. Please Thank Her in a meaningful way. Good employees like Monica are hard to find, and are the backbone of any successful business.Sincerely, Glenn and Barbara from NJ.
Only Fly fishing and rifles, not like a trading post. There were live trout and feed for them, so that was cute to see. The prices are high but assumably on point for the products and audience. The staff were attentive to my husbands questions and I bought a long sleeved shirt of nice quality. If youre a fly fishing enthusiast, this place is great! If youre an outdoor enthusiast, itll be neat for a quick peek but nothing to write home about.
Another American success story, the Orvis Company and Brand has been around for generations. This is their new Flagship store built a few years ago in 2017. Also located here is their fly rod factory and across the street their Fly Fishing School. Walking distance to the American Museum of Fly Fishing, another must stop! Not just for the fisherman, the place is loaded with everything for the outdoors, boots, camping gear, clothing. You name it. Their grounds are wonderful with the trout stocked ponds. If in the area, a must stop to visit and shop!
Extremely well kept and nice store, employees are extremely helpful and there’s a fish feeding pond for kids. The downside is everything is 3x more expensive and the employees can’t tell you why. As an example a Jax red flannel shirt that would cost $30-$40 anywhere else was $150 there.
Great selection. Great products. Expensive.
Great store. Attentive staff. Quality products.
A classic. We always go with our Chocolate lab when we visit Manchester. We actually bought an elephant toy that he has not been able to destroy. The flyfishing area is lovely. While pricy their clothes and housewares are the best quality. There is an outlet store which is cheaper next door.
They got some big trout there. Its a nice store
We shopped at the outlet store and found the prices to still be quite high. We did get a good deal on a dog bed for $49. The guys were quite friendly while the female sales person not so much but everyone has a bad day. Check it out and make sure you search around for the best deal!
They go above and beyond to help you find what you need. They search the country for an item they dont have in stock. Very friendly staff!
This location and the outlet down the street have everything for fly fishing and upland bird hunting you will ever need. The staff are knowledgeable and just plain nice folks. Also, their rods are excellent and they stand by their products with one of the best warranties in the business.
Over priced items, but feeding the fish was fun. The bargin barn down the street was much more reasonable.
My daughter and nephews love to go down to feed the fish in the ponds. They have fun..
Really like this place. Love the trout ponds
Overpriced outdoor goods and clothes, fun to look around in but more target to the vacation home crowd in Manchester than your average Vermonter.
Very cool flagship store. The store is very clean and inventory is well stocked. This is the best place to go if you are an avid fly fisherman.
Very helpful staff.
Good fly fishing stuff $$$%
I recently received thier catalog as I do alot of mail orders from various stores. I dont doubt the quality of thier products are good, however the prices! This is a rich mans store. I dont think I saw a single clothing item under 89 dollars! I thought ll bean and the Vermont country store was high they are worse
Stuffiest bass pro shop youll ever be in. Its nothing special.
Wonderful outdoorsman, activities and many difference of assortment styles. here in lovely and friendly orientated business. Thank God bless keep you open and healthy.
Was given a $200 gift card to get a fly fishing rod and reel. Drove 70 miles to look at the few choices under $200 they show online. Was informed when I arrived that they dont have the Encounter models in the shop, in other words, I could not buy anything for that price. What a pretentious, over-priced, waste of time!. I guess this overpriced shop is for the 1 per-centers.
Not a fisherman but was fun to go through this store. The have a school and ponds to practice fly fishing. Check this place out if you are in the area
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Bought waders and boots to go with them and they are the best Ive ever had! Their knowledge was impressive. The kids enjoy the fish and are always awed.
I never leave empty handed. Superior quality clothing made for the outdoors, but work as everyday wear. Pet products that also dont skimp on quality.A fishermans paradise..world famous, right by their unique indoor/ outdoor trout pond!Beautifully crafted shotguns, gifts, home accessories. All this in a wonderfully designed, spacious setting and a truly excellent staff.
Everything I expected. Casting lesson with Forest was first rate. Very knowledgeable and a great teacher. Anyone who needs a little polishing with their technique should attend. Reasonable pricing. Tight lines.
Good place to buy fly tying material and not too expensive either and your allowed to take your dog do have to wear a mask
We loved coming to the Orvis store during our trip to Manchester. The staff is very friendly, happy to see the number of dogs coming through, offer free water/soda, and are very willing to help with anything you need. We also enjoyed sitting near one of their trout ponds. Kids (and adults) can feed the monster trout with food out of a small dispenser. If you are interested in fly fishing or hunting, this is a place you should add to your list. Not quite as large as LL Bean’s Freeport store, but still has all that you’d want it to.
High end outlet store with all the great products youve come to know and love. Staff are friendly, very knowledgeable and accommodating. They host a Dog Dock Diving event there, and its wonderful fun for the kids.
Nice store and dog friendly as well. Since I wasnt planning on going into a store I didnt hae my mask. They were kind enough to give me one. They also gave my dog treats which he greatly appreciated.
Really nice fly fishing store with gear and clothes. Theres an adjacent fishing school thats part of Orvis Co. which we didnt try. They also have an inside open trout tank as well as multi-tier areas outside to see and feed the fish. Further down is a pond if you want to test your flies on some bluegill and bass.
Beautiful store with beautiful scenery. The heart of Vermont
Very great place. They show how much they love animals with the different events that they have. Dog friendly store, too! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.
If you like outdoor equipment and clothing this is your place to go. Prices tend to be on the high side. Good quality does not come cheap.
Friendly staff but way overpriced
Team Orvis is always able to help you. The quality of the merchandise is second to none. I have clothes that that I bought years ago that still look like new.
Awsome products and huge rainbows in the pond that the kids can feed!
Pretty cool store! Daughter enjoyed all the fish! Just a tad pricey for me.. but a beautiful store!
Best flyfishing equipment out there. Been buying for years. A bit pricey but good stuff.
Not what it used to be. I ordered a shirt with a total of $53 with shipping. The shirt, although canvas, turned out to be as thin as linen. It was a beautiful shirt, but didnt serve my purposes at all. I returned the shirt, and was charged a total of $15.44 for shipping and return. Lesson learned. Stick to companies with free returns, which includes most businesses these days.Update, 5 days later. After posting this review, I suddenly received an additional refund of 6.95 for shipping. I asked for this 5 days ago while chatting with the CSR, but was adamantly denied. So my hope is that Orvis decided to do the right thing to satisfy the customer, after seeing this review. I can honestly say that this refund has once again made me decide to keep shopping at my local Orvis store in Myrtle Beach, as well as online. Had I been a customer that makes frequent unwarranted returns, I could understand being denied shipping cost refund. So I have upgraded my rating of THIS transaction to 3 star, due to the issues getting the refund, but Orvis finally deciding to please the customer. Prior to this transaction, all of my orvis transactions have been 5 star.
Love orvis! We visit every time we are in Manchester. Love feeding the fish!
This is a stunning huge cabin with indoor/outdoor trout pond and is dog friendly...worth a visit for sure.
For a flagship store I thought there would be a full set of inventory. Not. Staff very friendly. Manchester is in the middle of nowhere.
Even if not there to shop, Its a beautiful place. The stained glass window on the upper level is gorgeous!
Very cool store for any fly fisherman or dog enthusiast. They have an awesome selection of sporting gear, and dont miss out on a discount building next door to the main location. There you can find some pretty good deals especially if you are purchasing something in the offseason on the second level. We got a very cute collar for our dog. This place is definitely pricey but you can find some truly beautiful things and the quality of their sportswear is generally well worth the price. I am just not someone who wants to pay $180 for a dog bed so that part of the store did not appeal to us much. We purchased a pair of waders and a womans sweater and spent well over $300.
Fly fishing heaven and much more! Purchased new waders, brought back a sling pack with a broken zipper. Was given a new one no questions asked. It was a very busy day (memorial day weekend) but was still provided with excellent service from a friendly staff.
The best fly fishing store Ive been to, incredible store. Great customer service. They let try the fly rods on a pond that is stocked with monster trout, just a beautiful store!
Great staff, great products
Orvis flagship store, definitely worth a visit! All the great clothing and gear youd expect plus and indoor/outdoor trout pond with some epic specimens swimming about!
The flagship store in Manchester Vermont has its own lake to test your fly fishing equipmemt. It is an impressive location, and worth the visit for all.
Deliver freight to the back building. The lady Reciever is extremely nice. One of my top places to deliver
Best Fly Fishing store on earth!
Beautiful store, friendly helpful staff, nice trout pond. even though its good quality stuff its a bit overpriced.
Youll appreciate the high-quality clothing and top selection on fishing gear. Knowledgeable staff happy to help you find what your looking for.
We got a really nice dog bed
Cool spot to wander
Received excellent guidance on wading boot selection; very prompt and courteous service (Sales Associate, Bill.) Boots arrived quickly with free shipping. I just tried the boots, the Riverguard Ultralight with studs, and they are excellent in all respects. They go on off very easily, are very comfortable, provide excellent traction while wading the rocky stream bed and, very importantly, while ascending and descending the steep riverside banks.
I went to the Orvis Outlet and actually found some really good bargains.
Very professional user friendly I highly recommend orvis fantastic place there hope for this world yet
Great fishing and gun sections but the mens clothing section was not anything to rave about
Too expensive for such low quality. They look down on people who arent rich. Any time I go in, I get dirty looks (if I get looked at at all) and no help. They dont treat employees well either. The clothing is ugly and the rods are over priced. However, the outlet is full of nice and helpful, happy people. Much better priced for the quality.
Friendly informative staff that greets with a smile! I love the clothes and the fly fishing gear!
Great place to go for fishing supplies . Staff are great to work with nd knowledgeably.
Damn this place is cool to look through but its freaking $$$$ to shop here.
Some of the best looking outdoor gear and you can feed the fish!
Beautiful Flagship store. Lots of free classes that are excellent for many levels.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Great selection and true outlet pricing.
Great place to deliver. People have great attitude
Great selection of outdoor wear and gear, a must stop for the outdoorsman
Great store and the kids love to feed the fish
Love it. A bit pricey, but everything they sell is of excellent quality. When they have a clearance sale they really knock the price down.
Awesome store! Great staff, very knowledgeable and willing to help.
It is still prepster heaven if youre not into fly fishing or hunting. Theyve got quality casual clothing to go with the fishing gear and sporting goods.
Excellent service from extremely knowledge staff 👍
Beautiful building, but nothing I could afford!
They have a large selection of outdoors clothing that is layed out in a very comfortable and pleasurable to shop in. If you need any kind of outdoors equipment or clothing this is a great shop. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful.
Great place for the dog and our grandkids. We can shop and they can feed the fish.
LOVE this place; flagship store is incredible!
Wonderful products and great service.
Wonderful store full of fine things for sportsmen
Beautiful store!! Loved it!?
Good space but selection seem Limited
Fine quality. Dowdy styles. Over-the-top prices
Im 34 and have been coming here since I was a child to feed the massive trout. Nice, fun, clean but very expensive.
Awesome Customer Service!!!!! These guys go above and beyond in the rod repair department! Thank you
Great store love the fish
Well made clothing, and very helpful staff.
Outlet had some very expensive items...all nice stuff, but way overpriced for an outlet
A fun visit for the fly fishing enthusiast.
The Orvis Flagship Store is the Walt Disney World of Manchester, VT.You will just have to go to see why.
Great product. Bit on the pricey side.
Overwhelming. Helpful advice from the staff. Will be back.
Fantastic fish. High priced.
