I always go here for hiking gear and outdoor stuff. If you’re looking for any specific climbing gear they may not have it. Their climbing section is pretty limited. Still, you can most certainly get everything you need here if you don’t feel like ordering online.

Had a manufacturers defect on a product I purchased and theyre having me play ping pong between them and the manufacturer. Disappointed as in my experience, problems should be resolved quickly when I purchase performance goods.Ill stick to reliable retailers like REI and direct purchases from LL Bean in the future.

This particular store is too small. Doesnt have the selection and inventory to keep up with EMS larger stores. But the products are the same high quality and its worthwhile to pop in while at the mall.

I walked in to EMS in Manchester NH and was forced to leave because I wasn’t and would not wear a mask. To turn away business when most of the businesses in the US are closing or struggling must be nice. You’ve lost me as a customer and I will do my part to TURN MORE consumers away from your company.

Read the return policy. I was talked into trying a water bladder and HATED it. Tried to return it 4 days later and they said no. No store credit nothing. I have spent a ton of money there and they just lost a lifetime customer for a bladder they suggested.

Our family loves Eastern Mountain Sports. We usually all shop together as a family but I was hanging solo that day. I had seen many things on clearance as the season for some of these items would be sitting until next year perhaps. Anyway, I did spend quite a bit of time in the store searching for some new hiking shoes for myself and for my husband. But of course, without him being there made my visit a bit longer than usual. During my visit, there were 4 different sales associates all asked me if I was finding everything okay and if I needed any assistance to ask them. They were all genuine and very kind. I did not have much luck finding something in a size 13 that he would like but I appreciate the staff being so wonderful. We will be back in the next couple of weeks for our winter gear.

Prices are on the bit of the high side. Staff was frendly and they had a clearance sale going on which made the price feel like the price some of the product should be. That is the only thing keeping me from give it 5 stars. Good selection for being in the mall.

Really great store for quality sporting goods. Such a pleasure to have people who know about the products, how to fit them,use them etc. Correctly. Pricing is very competitive and the expienced employees make it a wonderful experience.

Clerk sold me the wrong size, i wore them an hour before I realized. Tried to bring them back and they wouldnt even give me an exchange. Clerks error Im out $120. Frkn jerks. I will never shop there again. Manager was a jerk. I went to Bass Pro Shop.

I recently had a very unpleasant experience with EMS regarding customer service. I had a pair of Merrell boots I purchased through them that were in phenomenal shape but unfortunately had an eyelet break. My first trip in to discuss the issue, I was told they dont deal with the warranty, and the person was also not familiar with Merrells warranty policy, which is lifetime. I was told I needed to go through Merrell for warranty, I left feeling as though they didnt want to deal/help me with my issue not because they couldnt, but because they didnt want to be bothered. I went home, did some research and Merrell informed me my best and quickest avenue would be to go through the store which they were purchased, but if unsuccessful they will help me out.I then called EMS and spoke the Matt, their assistant store manager and let him know my first experience and what Merrell had said. He let me know they have a 100% customer satisfaction policy and he would be happy to take them back in with that and get me in a new pair. When I arrived and spoke with Matt I immediately got the same feeling of I was being a nuisance and he really didnt want to be bothered. I then found a new pair (an upgraded pair which I was happy to pay the difference on), but unfortunately they didnt have my size in stock. Matt called around to see who did have them and they were in stock in Portsmouth and we were going to have them sent to the Manchester store. When we were going through the final paperwork process Matt then decided that I had gotten some use out of them and only wanted to credit me $100 of the original price of $195.I was shocked at this point as the boots were in such great shape as they had very minimal use, which you could easily tell by the sole and I told him this. He was unwilling to give me credit after this WHOLE process we went through, due to a very clear warranty issue. I manage a retail cycling store, customer service is #1 when is comes to being a successful business, and it is no wonder when talking with him he said they have been down in business, Needless to say I took my boots back along with my original receipt and will be going through Merrell for my warranty. I will never step foot in that store again and was extremely surprised the way the whole situation was handled, start to finish.

The one in Concord was very unorganized and very limited inventory wanted Manchester was much more organized and had a better inventory all in all they give you a 3-star

Solid store, typically clean but the pricing isnt competitive.

Went into the store looking for some sandals, found some Tevas on sale for $15 regular $80. Im a very happy person right now. :-)
