They did a great job for us. New to the area and needed a pair of boats winterized and wrapped. They got us in and out in one day! Brian from the service department was great. Very helpful and knowledgeable. The entire staff provided great service and we are very happy with Clark Marine. They are our new service center for all of our boating needs.
I retired last summer and thought, never having owned a boat, it was about time that I did. Trouble is I procrastinate - all the time. So the summer went by and no boat. On a rainy late October day a fishing buddy of mine suggested we go look as some boats because we might find an end of year deal. We ended up at Clark Marine and talked with Jake Stewart. After questioning me about why I wanted a boat, Jake showed me a previously owned boat that checked all my boxes. With my wifes approval, we made the deal. Clark Marine stored it for me and I anxiously waited the long winter. On boat pick up day Jake had all the paperwork ready to go, the owner introduced himself and thanked me for my business. Nelson, a service tech spent about a half hour on land going over everything I needed to know about the boat and then took us to a local lake to give us an on the water training session for another two hours. As a new boat owner, Im thoroughly impressed with the friendliness, attention to detail and competence of Clark Marine. I wholeheartedly recommend their services - you wont be disappointed!
Great service, very knowledgeable staff, very prompt in doing what they say they will do. We could not be happier. Would highly recommend them for your next boat purchase. Rob and all of his staff get a 5 star rating.
Sloppy service work, horrible customer service for parts. Don’t bring a nice boat here.I recently purchased a used, near-mint, Crestliner and contacted Clark Marine for a bunch of miscellaneous parts (e.g., manual, bimini curtains, 4th seat) and to transfer the warranty, which you can only do through a dealer. Long story short, service department did a hack-job (see picture) and didn’t fix the problem, the parts department was lackadaisical to be nice about it, and it all culminated with a bizarre interaction with the clearly defensive owner when I picked up my boat. (In the past I’ve used Bamforth Marine or Yarmouth Boat yard for repairs/maintenance on my 30 year old Bluefin Sportsman. They both did meticulous work and provided great customer service. Can’t recommend them enough.)Service: Issue was boat flooding through the livewell intakes. Not a slow leak, boat floods in minutes. It would have sunk without the bilge pump. To try to find the leak, at home I had filled the boat ½ full of water (well above intakes) cranked the trailer jack up and down, and there were no leaks. Plugged the exterior stern intakes and tried the boat in the water again, and absolutely zero leaks. I shared this info with Clark service people and stressed that the issue only happens when in the water. Set up appointment 3 weeks in advance thinking they would do a thorough job and test it in the water rather than repeat the tests I already did. Go to pick up the boat and they tell me that they’ve caulked the external seals. Said they flooded the boat and only found minor leaks, which I had already done at home and was clearly not going to diagnose the issue. They never tested the boat in the water, and have no idea if it’s a broken housing on the intake pump causing the leak. I express my surprise to the service mgr and ask if he could do a test on the lake. Says too busy, I say OK, I’ll have to take my business elsewhere from now on. When I pick up the boat, the owner Rob comes out, raises his voice and talks over me when I explain that I already flooded the boat and had it out on Moosehead Lake the previous weekend with the intakes plugged, with no leaks. The interaction with Rob was a combo of bizarre and aggressive. When I get the boat home, I noticed they did a hack job on the intake. Caulk all over the place and the inside of the intake is partially shredded from when I assume they removed it. NOT ONLY DID THEY NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, THEY DAMAGED THE BOAT!!! Put the boat in the water and it flooded just like before…Parts: Parts contact person was pretty unresponsive and lackadaisical to deal with. Initially contacted them on September 21, didn’t hear back until Oct. 5th despite emailing a couple times to see if they received my email. Finally got a general quote (no info on specific parts, just lump sum total for everything) on Oct 12 after several check-ins. While frustrating, this was really only a minor issue provided they could eventually give individual prices and get the right parts ordered. The service department damaging the boat and bizarre/aggressive interaction with the owner are what prompted this detailed review.
Clark Marine has been exceptional with all of our boating needs. Their parts department is incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful. Every time I have called to see if they have a part in stock that we need, they are quick to find out if they have it, or to come up with options to get the part in. Ordering parts has always been a fast turn around time too! The entire staff is friendly and willing to help. Every time I have done business with them has been an excellent experience.
Hello Mr. Brown,Let me 1st say, I am sorry you will not call me to deal with this directly. We are so very disappointed. This would never have been posted. My daughter found covers were found in the back of the boat in the engine compartment, sitting in water, rolled up in a ball 1 day after you delivered the boat to the lake on June 8th. The photos we sent to Brian, and the video show this. The clear plastic is cracked, tattered, ruined. When you picked up the boat in September, the boat was fully covered, same as it has been for the two seasons we have stored our boat with you. We love the boat and the fun color PURPLE of the covers. It is not easy to find a match.I have asked for compensation for the 3 pieces that were ruined in your care, per my storage agreement. It is a FRACTION of the cost of the other pieces we need so they match. We feel like it is a more than fair request. The new entire cover will cost $5000! I am only asking you for $1250. Because of the negligence of someone on you staff, the entire cover needs to be replaced. I request that you actually look at the photos, all time stamped. Please do the right thing here. I look forward to hearing from you.
I have been a customer at Clark Marine for several years; and am very happy with their customer service and attention to detail.I would like to extend special appreciation to Ian Sikora. Ian constantly impresses me with his knowledge of everything boat related, and treats me with respect and professional courtesy. My relationship with all Clark employees is positive and comfortable---I just want to extend a special thanks to Ian.
Thank you Rob for your time and attention answering all my questions about your Avalon pontoon boats. I never felt rushed or pressured into buying a boat. You made my purchase easy and enjoyable.. It was not a one way transaction. My family and grandkids are very excited for summer!
Im an avid fisherman and tournament angler. If my boat or my equipment is down, I cant fish. Clark Marine is close by and is always able to get the parts I need to get my boat or gear back on the water fast! The entire crew is helpful and knowledgeable about the parts and equipment they sell and service.
If you want to buy a quality boat with great service from shopping to delivery, this is the place.
This place is all about the dollar now, pushing out the working man.. not the same customer service it once had.
Poor communication and very poor customer service. Would highly recommend not doing business here.
The teck staff, particularly Derrek and Nelson are at the top of their craft. They are always willing to interrupt what they are doing to offer advise and help whenever I go to Clark Marine. Ian at the Parts department is outstanding an alway willing to search out what I need. The counter staff always offer helpful advise and service. In short- Clark Marine is a 10!
My husband Pete and I have been dealing with Clark Marine for approximately 12 years. We have purchased two boats from them and have been completely satisfied. From the counter, to the service department,, to employees and owners Rob and Nancy, their PR has been exceptional!!! We would highly recommend Clark Marine to anyone who is looking to purchase a boat or have their boat serviced!!! Great dealership to work with
Although I havent bought a boat from Clark Marine, your staff has always been ready and willing to answer my questions and discuss my boating problems. Stephen Farrington has been particularly helpful to me. Your store is a 5 star outfit for sure!
I have dealt with Clark Marine for the past 7 years. From parts to service to sales, everyone that Ive worked with has been polite, knowledgable and professional. And, they communicate truthfully and in a timely manner. I would highly recommend them.
Clark Marine comes through again!!Stopped in at Clark Marine on 9/4/2020 to ask owner Rob Brown where I could buy some 55 gallon drums to float a 30 long Roll-A-Dock from Island Park to my island home on Belle Island. Without hesitation Rob said we have a work barge and we can load it up somehow and get it out for you. The next day Rob had two of his crew and the barge meet me at Island Park. After trying unsuccessfully, to disassemble the dock it was decided to load the whole 30 dock on the barge in one piece. After a slow trip to Belle Island the dock was delivered in one piece.A job that Clark could have declined to do was completed in typical Clark fashion, fast and with a smile.I have been doing business with Clark for over 23 years and there have been many times from mechanical problems to hurricanes where the crew at Clark have saved the day. There service department is second to none!!Thank you Rob and Crew!!Win and Pam ElliottBelle Island & Lakeside Villages
They dont even deserve the 1 star. Honestly the worst service Ive ever had of any kind. I brought my boat to them to have the motor diagnosed and fixed. This was 1 1/2 months ago. First time I brought it in they had it for a week (after making an appointment 7/16/20). Then never called to say it was done. Said it had cylinders not firing so it had fouled the plugs so they changed the plugs said it was good. I paid them $200.00 took it home and tried it out that day, same problem. Nothing changed. This was a Saturday of course, so I waited till Monday and brought it back and they said sorry we will get right on it. After waiting a week I called back. They said they had figured it out (but for some reason didnt call to tell me, again?!?), It needed 4 new carb repair kits and the carbs completely gone through. (Not sure how they couldnt see this the first time, instead I just wasted money having them change plugs) They said it would be $1400.00+/- for this new fix. I gave them the go ahead. After 2 weeks I called back to see what was going to on. They said they were waiting for the parts. I waited another week and called back again now the parts werent available, back ordered. So I asked what could be done get the parts. They said to order them myself online might get me better results. I found and orderd them and received them in 3 days. Not sure why they waited 2 weeks to tell me this. Very frustrating and ridiculous that I can get parts easier then a boat dealer/mechanic. So they said theyd get right on it. 2 weeks later and many calls I finally called today 8/26 to find out it was done, fixed, kinda of. The original problem fixed but there is a dead spot around 3000 rpms that they cant fix. It will work but just dont run it at those rpms. Nothing we can do.Sorry. Oh yeah that will be $1100.00 have a nice day. Enjoy your boat we couldnt fix and couldnt be bothered to communicate about. This place sucks. Cost me lots of money and most of the summer for a boat that still doesnt run right. Thanks for nothing. On the bright side most of the staff was friendly and nice. But whats a smile when your getting the screws put to you? I never felt important or like a priorty to them. They couldnt even be bothered to call or give me a date that they would work on it. I understand busy. But if its going to be 2 months. Say 2 months. I will never bring anything here again and would highly recommend avoiding doing business here whenever possible. Clark Marine you should be ashamed. No way to do business. But Im sure you dont care.
Don’t bother calling for parts. Even if you have part numbers for what you need. They will either say parts is busy and to come in, they aren’t taking parts calls and to come in, or have you leave your name and phone number and never call. Have called multiple times in the past couple months and had no return phone call. Most recently, called and the person on the phone was very nice, offered to try to look up my Yamaha part number and couldn’t find it. Took my info and said they would call back. I call the next day to see if anything had been found and I’m told that parts isn’t taking calls and to come in.
Set up an appointment to have my Yamaha 25hp outboard looked at for starting intermittently. They were 3 weeks out for an appointment so I waited. Brought it in and first warning sign was the service rep started poking fun of the boat and saying I needed to “man up and get a bass boat”...? A week goes by and I call to get an update and they said “it doesn’t start, might need a carb cleaning”. At this point I was wondering why I made an appointment when they haven’t done anything to it. Another week passes and I called with the same response. My dad went to go see in person what the holdup was and was physically threatened upon arrival by the old man the runs the place for complaining about poor customer service... have heard of similar instances from other folks in the community of physical threats to other customers....Turns out the only problem with the outboard was the kill switch button was sticking. Lost an easy opportunity for a return customer. Avoid this place at all costs!!!!EDIT: Nice response BTW... attack your customers integrity and character with baseless accusations instead of owning up to your misdeeds... classy. Really confirms you treat most people like this!!!
Being from out of state, and not always able to be face to face with a service department, I find Clark is extremely helpful in being responsive and timely on staying on schedule. They do a great job on servicing both my large and small engines.
Great place very helpful staff. Had to add to my post. Went there yesterday with another problem. The assistant manager was very helpful and solved my issue quick. Great place and people. If I could give 10 stars I would
Highly recommend going to Clark’s for service or buying new and used boats, Jeff Olum is a top notch employee would recommend working with him!
I have always found everyone extremely helpful. Im new to boating and they have answered all my questions.
Quick and excellent service.
I needed a tire/wheel assembly for my loadrite pontoon boat trailer. Counter person did not know how to look it up after giving size I needed. Parts manager came to counter and opened to page with assemblies. I am a retired parts manager with 45 years experience. I showed her the exact Part # for wheel/ tire assembly I needed. They showed it in stock. It wasnt. Parts person had no idea what they were doing. Frustrating!!!
I will never Do business with Clark’s again and recommend no one does! We were in the market for a new boat this summer and as most people know that most boat places sold out of their inventory due to the covid spending craze. Anyways the only place that had the boat model we were looking for was in NH. We wanted a boat that we could have worked on and serviced locally. We bought a 2021 boat where we could find one. Long story short after two months of using the boat daily the boat has an alternator issue and needs warranty work. We bring the boat to Clark’s (since they are a Glastron boat dealer and we bought a Glastron boat) to look at. While I was there dropping off the boat I was told that they normally will not work on boats they don’t sell but would look at mine after I told them that I only bought it elsewhere because they did not have the same boat to sell me and am planning on getting all of my work done there. Two days later I get a call from Brian at service to tell me that my alternator was fried due to a ground not being tight and that they would not do warranty work on anything they don’t sell but I CAN GLADLY PAY FOR IT OUT OF POCKET AND THEY WOULD GLADLY DO THE WORK! I asked what the difference was between Merc/Glastron paying for it or I paying for it and was told that on warranty work they get paid less then they normally charge. Does that make any sense? The reason I bought a new boat is to have a warranty! You would think that since they sold the same boats they would want to earn the business of people that live in their community not try and be vindictive to you because you purchased your boat elsewhere. To whoever is reading this I recommend you give Rockingham Boats a call in NH! That’s where we bought the boat and after telling them what we were dealing with at Clark’s they sent someone up to pick up the boat. Had it fixed and back in two days! That’s customer service!!!! And nice response! No one is hiding their name. My real initials are EM. So before you reply with bogus allegations that I am trying to post in desguise know your facts. I have nothing to hide.
Very helpful great service
Bought the motor we were looking for and advice/solution on a problem we had.
I recently purchased a 4 stroke Merc 2.5hp from these folks. They matched the internet price and gave me a quick tutorial on the difference between 2 an 4 strokes. Had I listened, I would have saved myself a lot of frustration. Cheers to Rob, his incredibly patient small engine guy and staff for making sure I understood the 2nd time. Motor runs great. Cheers!
Had my 2001 boat re-powered at Clark Marine and had a great experience. Rob and his team were easy to work with, they provided me with a costs quote for the new outboard and the installation that was what I paid when I picked up the boat. All work was on time and they explained how the operate the new motor in detail. Thank you to all who work at Clark.
Aways friendly - great service!
I was looking for a replacement propeller for my old 15HP motor, they took the time to find me the right part, even though they were busy and it was close to closing time. Really nice people who found the part and got me back on the water. Thanks!
These guys are great. Always helpful and seem honest as the day is long. Their winter boat storage is an exceptional service, a real value. My boat always come back prestine and ready for the season
Great place, great service!! Jake, our salesman was the best! Thank you Clark Marine!!!
Owner is against the right to repair act, a act that many smaller businesses would help. This guy probably thinks DPF is a good idea to.
Clark marine is more concerned with bending the consumer over for money than taking care of them. They seem to want to spread misinformation instead of helping local boaters get back on the water. I hope more people watch the video of you blatantly lying about boat repairs to the board members just to pad your pockets.
Very unprofessional.
Best place around very helpful and friendly.
Very good parts department service
Good customer service. Responsive to requests for assistance. Always on time for deliveries and pick ups.
Being against right to repair means your shop will be out of business. Minn Kota, Mercury and all the other manufacturers would open THEIR OWN service centers and force your 3 locations under. Overnight youd become an employee, NOT AN OWNER. And even though I have not used your services I can give an honest one star review for the low-life scare tactics many bad/crooked mechanics use, i.e. an incorrect spark plug can cause dire (life-threatening) issues on the water. News flash folks, that little town hall discussion is getting views online, people are watching. And you are on the wrong side of this. Better clear up your weekends Mr. Business owner, youre about to have to go back to work for the man.Edit: I wouldnt trust you guys working on a tonka truck, much less anything with an internal combustion engine. I am a technician. What you guys are claiming is 100% false. A sparkplug will not cause a boat to catch fire and sink.Any customers willing to try this place should visit YouTube for a repair tutorial because these clowns think if you install a spark plugs incorrectly youre going to kill yourself. What a bunch of clowns.
Great place to help you get on the water. The staff is helpful and always willing to offer sound boating advice. Excellent sales experience, delivery and even better service after the sale.
When I think about customer service now I think Clark Marine. Every interaction with them has been positive and helpful from day one. Love our new boat.
Clarks Marine is truly a blessing to the local boating community. I have been doing business with them for 5 years and just recently purchased my second Avalon pontoon boat. I wouldnt even think of going anywhere else. From the very first time I walked into that establishment, I have felt appreciated and valued as a customer. The entire staff is topnotch: knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. They always go above and beyond and have never failed to meet or exceed my expectations either in or out of the water - year round. Their customer service is second to none. Clarks Marine is a class act all the way around and they are very much respected for it.
Good food, great beer, awesome staff!
Old man is an arrogant sob! He was condescending and argumentative. Gave an estimate for repairs and went over that by $500, refusing to except a personal check!! When purchasing boat they bent over backwards to be nice, once bought, service was slow and we were an inconvenience. Not a good experience!! DONT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!!
Had what i needed in stock and well priced there crew knows there stuff
Good place for your boating needs.
Called and asked if they could service my saildrive boat motor. First person had no clue what I was talking about, transferred me to a supposed mechanic. He had no idea what I was talking about, after he repeatedly saildrive he mumbled something about bad reception and hung up on me. Unfortunately I can’t give 0 stars. Worst customer service!
As always, these folks are simply awesome, dropped one boat picked up another in and out in about 20 minutes, great bunch of folks to do business with.
Best service and friendly people.
Thanks for prop,great service
Great place! Great people!
Amazing people and great service!
Dont do bussiness here! Called looking for a shift cable and was told by an unpleasant lady that everyone was too busy to take my call and asked if I could just come in. I said its an hour away and Id like to know that the part is there before just heading over (was burned last week by another marina that told me to just come on in...2 hrs of driving in a v8 for nothing). She asked if they could call me back, so I asked if it was going to be awhile or if I could expect a call back soon because I kind of needed to know soon. Woman acted like she didnt know, didnt care, was rude, huffing and puffing and got all defensive because I simply stated Id like a call back in a reasonable amount of time. I told her, if you dont want to sell me the part thats fine and have a nice day and hung up. Will never do business here. EVER!
Excellent service! Awesome people.
Had a friend just check the boat to find the problem, told them what it was and now they wont service the boat; which is under warranty. They called leaving a rude message and its the the first time they were rude
Friendly and helpful staff!
Excellent Customer Servive
I showed the guy a terrible picture of our boat motor, he knew exactly what it was and which gas line I needed and told me exactly how to replace it.
Owner is against right to repair legislation
Mon junkie kiioimkoik
The best .
Work there!
