My wife went to get air filters for our home this morning and she was very impressed with the outstanding customer service. The gentleman helped her select the correct air filters and took the time to cut out a handle for the box because she was carrying our infant child.

Im a hardware store guy. I used to love our neighborhood store when I was young. There were always older guys working there to help you find or figure out something. That is what this place is. I walked in for the first time and was immediately asked what I needed. He showed us what we wanted. And now I am a regular. What a great place. Maybe no more Home Depot & Lowes!!

I love little hardware stores and this one is well stocked and had a very helpful staff. Ill gladly pay ten cents more to not have to deal with the Depot or another big box store.

J.E. Rice is my local go to place for hardware. They have been in business for many years, and these people are way nicer and personable than you find at the big box stores out there.

This place is an old school and real hardware store.You know, the kind of place that is packed with all the odd size nuts, bolts, nails, washers and tools you would expect to find but cant. Upon entering this place, I was immediately greeted and given in person expertise and help. They were genuinely interested in knowing what the part was fixing and looking at workarounds. Great prices. Do yourself a favor and go here first before going to one of those frustrating bigger big chain stores. Thank you to however helped me today finding that o-ring 2/8/2021.

Rices is an old-fashioned hardware story -- full of all sorts of things youd have a hard time finding elsewhere. They have an excellent collection of gas fireplace sets and theyre very knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. We bought our gas fireplace set there, and they know a very good installer.

Unbeatable knowledge and amazing selection of hardware! JE Rice blows the big box stores out of the water, reminds me so much of the hardware store I used to go to with my Dad when I was growing up. Fantastic, friendly service and supporting a local business keeps me coming back!

If youre looking for a hometown hardware store experience, this is where you get it! Very unlike your typical big box retailer hardware store. This place has everything...as I went in for specialty nuts and bolts. Their collection of bolts is impressive. Chase helped me find what I needed, incredibly knowledgeable about products this store has. Keep it up chase!

Cut a chip key for me Walmart nor homedepot could even cut with their automated key machines. Goes to show these small stores definitely have a place! Will be back

I love J.E. Rice True Value hardware store. Every time I need something they almost always have it in stock. Even more importantly, the employees are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful every time I have been there. I try to give them all of my business and avoid the big chain stores (Home Depot and Lowes) as much as possible.

I tell you what, it is sad to see so few shops like this around these days. Prices are great, their staff know their stock, and also are quite helpful for coming up with solutions to problems you may have.When I came in I was greeted right away. After a short discussion I was guided to the right area. All in all this place is clean, well stocked.

They are extremely helpful courteous and well knowledge in their fields. they have equipment and merchandise everywhere in the store that makes it seem like its decorated for the holidays but man they sure know where everything is at. I really enjoy all my visits there because they always have a solution!

Finally found a hardware store where the employees actually know what tools are! I am extremely happy with the service. This will now be my go to for tools.

I work on my cars a lot and often strip, snap and, need to replace rusty nuts and bolts, searching up the exact thread measurements and size can be a nightmare. I just bring in the old one and they will match it for and are always more then friendly. If I could rate higher I would! For hardware and just general purpose fixing up stuff I cant recommend anywhere else!

I stopped in for something a big box store would probably not have and they did me right. Once I saw a real key machine (not the stupid kind other hardware stores are geting) I was hooked. The staff was very friendly and glad to help. I left with more than I planned on. I will go there a lot from now on. Really liked the old time printing press, wish they had a photo on their site.

This place is fantastic. They have EVERYTHING. I could spend an hour just looking around the store. It has a mom-and-pop feel to it thats truly unique these days. Plus, the customer service is great, 100% of the time. I support them whenever I can.

The customer service here is absolutely top notch! Ive never made it past the front counter without someone offering to help me, which is a good thing because there is a lot of hardware packed into a small space here, which can make things a little tough to find by yourself. They have a better selection than Home Depot and youll be in and out in a fraction of the time.

Great shop, carries a lot of specialty items you cant find in the big box stores. Also the associates are knowledgeable and more than willing to help you find anything you need.Only downside is they arent open late or on Sundays, so be sure to pickup all your weekend project needs Friday evening or Saturday.

In looking at these other reviews, I wish I had that kind of experience at Rice True Value. My experience was just the opposite. I was treated very poorly when I went into this store. I am a teacher and a busy single mom. I went into the store looking for help and reassurance that I would be able to fix my outdoor faucet. The man in charge was so rude to me. He yelled at me for asking questions and made me feel like I needed to be a plumbing contractor to be in the store. Upon leaving the store I called the man to let him know that I would be contacting True Value to let them know how I was treated and he told me that I needed to understand that he was rude to me because he had to deal with many customers who didnt understand what he did. I will never go to this store again, and will advise everyone I know not to go there. This particular man needs lessons in customer service and should not be working with the general public if he cannot handle people asking questions and not understanding plumbing concepts right away. There is an old saying that the customer is always right. At Rice True Value, the customer is treated as an idiot and yelled at.

Central Air unit quit Wednesday and repair guy couldnt get out till Monday at the earliest. This was during the July heatwave and our house was unbearable. I know alittle about alot of stuff so I took a look myself. After a few tests it was obvious the start/run capacitor was bad. I then find out nobody will sell you this part with out a contractor license. After a Google search J E Rice hardware store showed up and one of the reviews said they sell them. I called ahead and said what I had and needed and they had one. $34 out the door instead of a $75 service call, them doubling the price of the part and at least a $75 an hour bill. It worked perfect, thanks!

These guys are awesome. Couldnt find anyone to make a key and they had it. Needed special wire for my heating system and they had it. Ive stopped going by the big box stores first :)

I often go into the store and have always been treated with the utmost respect and not talked down to you or yelled (LOL) because I do not know anything about different types of hardware. They make keys for me. They explain the different types of tools I may be looking for after my husband passed away. The birdseed is unbelievably priced and the only thing that is bothering me is if the larger companies put the smaller hardware store out of business. With customers like me I will try to preclude that from happening. Always my first choice.

This store is truly a treasure to live down the street from! I do machining, 3D printing, CNC work, welding, and plumbing. THESE GUYS KNOW THEIR WORK!! Im astounding at the amount of skill they have with fabrication, their method of trouble shooting problems if you run into them and they dont have a part. (RARE!) They generally go FAR out of their way to help you find anything you could possibly need and are VERY Knowledgeable. I dont know about that review saying that someone in the store yelled at them, because from everyone Ive met that works there, they are all very polite. I couldnt see any of them yelling.

It was refreshing to find J E Rice in my kneck of the woods today. 95+ degree weather and my hvac blower stopped working. I quickly learned home depot and lowes dont carry the part I needed in store. I searched on Google and called J E Rice who were closing in two minutes. I explained my situation and the fellow said he would wait for me to arrive. I got to the store in about 10 mins and he was still waiting for me. I was able to find the part (run capacitor) for my blower. Paid for it, installed it and now have my ac back on line :) I thank the employee for outstanding customer service! I will certainly be back as its great to know that there are still hardware stores around with knowledgable, service oriented employees! Yay!

Very friendly and helpful. Had exactly what I needed in stock and showed me exactly where to find it. Priced the same as elsewhere.

I was charged $5.01 (plus tax) for copying one key at a nearby store (Baldinos). At J.E. Rice, I later paid only $2.35 (plus tax) for duplicating the same key. Both stores have a manual copy machine and it took less than a minute to do the job. Both duplicated keys work fine but the cost was much more reasonable at J.E. Rice True Value. I also purchased caulk for a more reasonable price than Home Depot. They offered me insights which type and color caulk I should use for my particular project. Staff is very friendly and well-informed. Prices are reasonable.

I came here to buy a 1/2 20 pitch [fine] thread for a wheel caster since Homedepot and Lowes did not carry it. A homedepot employee actually referred me to this store.I showed up, with the wheel caster in my hand. A young lady [I forgot her name] actually greeted me and just buy looking at the wheel caster, without actually giving it to her, she immediately told me the EXACT nut I needed [It took me a while to figure it out as Homedepot did not even have a standard thread/bolt pattern template]. I was very very impressed. WOW! Not even the other stores knew the nut even after trying various one on it. This store has everything and unique items you wont find in other hardware stores. It reminded me of Nicolson hardware store in Rockford, IL, the store that has everything when everyone else does not. This is a new found store Ill be going back to and they are very nice people withe exceptional service.
