Patient Nathaniel Scarbourgh was well cared for. Very impressed with Dr. Louis Blumefeld personally calling to see how he was doing on a Saturday. The staff were excellent.

Dr. Blumenfeld is great, but the office is like Splash Mountain with a 90 minute wait in mid July with twin toddlers, albeit far less entertaining. Disney also has a more appropriate number of bathrooms with changing tables. An office that sees pediatric patients should have a better system in place than to pray parents can keep their kids entertained for two hours and that no two kids have a blowout at the same time.

Ive been bringing my daughter here for almost 8 years now. The staff is friendly and helpful and have been very sweet to her. Dr. Gold is our physician who has taken great care of my daughters eye condition. Hes been very kind and helpful and her eyes are so much better now. My daughter is quiet and doesnt say much while in the office, but she loves her doctor!

This is the best place to go if you are having issues with your eyesight! The team is very professional, the service is quick, appointments are very organized, Dr Robert Gold who I had the pleasure to have as my doctors is hands down the best doctor you could ever ask for. Professional, funny, knowledgeable, and very real.

The most amazing doctor and staff EVER! My 3yr old couldnt wait to see them for her appointments and they have been miracle workers. I went to 3 other specialists and Dr. Gold was given that name for a reason. He is a true miracle worker. Amazing with kids and ridiculously smart, yet able to communicate difficult and complicated medical diagnosis on a simple level. I will thank my lucky stars for him and his team every day of my life. They literally turned our fears into miracles. Kind, generous, welcoming, caring, and fun ;)

To be honest, Im not quite sure this is even a legitimate or real ophthalmology practice. I was referred to it by a PCP, I called the office several times to request an appointment and no one seems to ever answer the phone. I have gone through the automated system options and have always been left on hold for 10+ minutes until the call eventually drops. Then, I tried to request an appointment via their website and no one ever got back to me. Is this place even real? Or maybe just not interested in having anyones business.

Great staff and caring doctor for my sons eye operation. Im very pleased with the care I received. They did everything they could to make my son comfortable and, as a parent, that made me comfortable.

The best of the best, excellent all the staff. If you have any vision problems this is the best place to go. Dr Justin D Marsh operated on my son for strabismus and better impossible, always grateful and the wonderful nurses ♥ ️🙏🏻.

Good docs, very bad office.My wife has been a patient for over a year, I dont think there has been one visit that shes gotten out of there in less than 3 hours. Its a factory that overbooks and shows little concern for your time.She was recently charged a fee for a missed appointment. She was on hold for 1 hour and 16 minutes to cancel before the line went dead.This office is the epitome of what is wrong with medicine today.

Though Dr Gold is a wonderful physician the office is dysfunctional. I went to an eye appointment with my 2 yr old twins. I arrived on time, completed the check in process then was asked to wait 20 minutes prior to being called back. This is normal for the office and not upsetting. What WAS upsetting was that after all of this I was told we could not be seen because it was one adult per child due to the current pandemic. I was turned away and marked as a no show. I was then billed $50.00 per child for a no-show appointment. Once that was cleared with billing and they fixed the problem the clinic still marked both children as no shows. We did miss an appointment in July due to being out of town. When I called the office to reschedule I was told we could no longer be seen due to having missed 2 appointments. Our family is being penalized due to the offices incompetence and was only rudely informed of this after calling the clinic and waiting on hold for 15 minutes. This is unacceptable behavior for such a prestigious practice. Not being informed of the new Covid policy, not being informed we were marked as no-shows after waiting to be seen, not being able to be seen after one missed appoint is sheer incompetence on their part.

Dr. Blumenfeld was exceptional. He explained in great detail what to expect from my surgery. It went exactly as he stated. I am incredibly thankful to him and his entire staff. Everyone made me feel comfortable and safe. Thank you also to Anthony and Nurse Vivian. Great job by everyone.

I have been a patient for a few years and it used to be great but that is no longer the case. Nobody ever answers the phone and the service with the contact lenses department is horrible. Not being able to properly see because of bad service is ridiculous

Dr.Gold and Anthony took great care of my 1.5 year old. They were able to tell right away what was causing my daughters eye movement issue and what to expect as she grows older. Was very relieved to know she will have normal vision. It was an easy visit for her. Excellent experience.

When you are in the office the service, assistants and doctors are great but trying to get them on the phone is nearly impossible. It is not unusual for me to be on hold for an hour waiting to talk to someone . When message is left, no return calls. That is the norm. On three occasions, i had to drive to the office just to ask about my laser procedure, schedule and prescriptions. Not able to reach any one when needed is a deal breaker.

Dr. Auerbach and team are absolutely the best. They all explained everything clearly and the cataract/ astigmatism surgery was a breeze. You have to follow an eye drop schedule for about a month but the vision correction for me was instantaneous once the surgery meds wore off. I only need readin glasses for anything a foot or closer. I’m 70 but my eyes are 20 now!😀

Great in the office BUT no one can answer a phone at anytime of day. I’m currently still on hold (25 min wait time) they have the call back option but every time I get a call back it beeps and disconnects me. I’ve been trying to schedule my 2 year old another appointment for his eye for 2 days now!!This is beyond ridiculous!!! Do better Eye Physicians!!!

I love the staff and doctors I deal with. My only complaint is I’ve been on the phone literally all day trying to make an appointment and no one has answered. Apparently they are having phone issues. I finally got ahold of someone and they where a lot of help.

Took my 3 year old for a Second option and Dr. Blumenfeld and his staff were amazing. Would highly recommend for pediatric eye care. We decided move forward with eye muscle surgery and was a success without any complications.

Having reached the point where it was unsafe to drive, I underwent bilateral cataract surgery December 2020. The experience was better than flawless--it was exquisite in performance and outcome. 20/20 vision. No pain, no complications. Everyone was kind, personable, professional and accommodating. I marvel at the world upon awakening each morning. It is for me an unfathomable gift--a miracle. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude! Thank you one and all for this grace.

My doctor, Dr Auerbach was totally professional, kind and my surgery was much better than I expected. I had no pain or any sort of discomfort, I didnt even need a Tylenol, I would highly recommend this doctor, he made me feel like I trusted his expertise, skill and compassionate nature. Every aspect of my cataract surgery was exceptional. The office is efficient and professionally managed. My personal biggest fear, the anesthesia, was easy and when I have the next cataract surgery I will have no worries about that. I was given detailed information about postoperative care. The surgical center called me at home to make sure I was doing okay. When I went for my recheck, knowledgeable Kris explained to me how technology has improved cataract surgery over the years. Dr. Auerbach is a skilled surgeon and I highly recommend him.

Don’t go there the worst experience ever they gave my 6 years old son wrong medicine a very strong eye drop makes his corneal open I took him to another doctor because I felt they don’t know what they doing and the other dr took immediately send him to operating room for a corneal transplant . A nightmare for the whole family. And my done now only can see %20 in his eye because of them !

Love love love this place! Ive been going here for 4 years and I have nothing bad to say about this place! If you call and have to wait a bit, its okay, because that means everyone in central florida wants to go here! I can book my appointment at 8am and be at work by 9:30am, which is a great convience for me. Great and supportive staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Dr. Auerbach is the best and Im going to cry the day he retires. :)

If I could have used zero stars I would have. So I received a letter today from the office of Jerry Shuster. I have not been able to travel to the office for a while due to COVID-19. Which is something i told him when I spoke with him over the phone to refill my prescription for my glaucoma medication. Doctor shuster said if I didn’t set up an appointment with his office soon he would in his words “wash his hands of me”. This is something he said multiple times during the call with no regards to the what has transpired with the pandemic. So I called his office not even a week after the phone call I had with him to schedule an appointment. The question I posed to the representative was could you tell me what my copay would be for the visit. The last time I stopped in the office I paid over $400 out of pocket as they did not accept my MRA card from my job. I just want to be prepared this time, as the last visit I was almost unable to make the payment. The representative told me He would need to speak with his administrator and touch base with me after he has an answer. To my surprise the call back never came but I did get this lovely letter from the office. The letter states “Due to noncompliance, I feel it would be in your best interest to seek the service of another ophthalmologist. Our practice will discontinue serving your ophthalmic needed effective 30 days from the date you receive this letter”. So was the non compliance on my end, a black man waiting for a phone call from your office to ensure I can afford my next visit. Or was the non compliance on your office representative for the poor service your representative gave me, as I never received a call back to get my answer and set up my appointment. I wouldn’t recommend this office to anyone as I can see they do not care about their patients. Especially not there minority patients, unless they can afford to pay their absurd bill for a check up visit. I’ll be sure to share my comments with the better business bureau as well.

Dr. Blumenfeld and the entire staff at Eye Physicians of Central Florida are in one word.......AMAZING!!!My 3 year old had strabismus that was VERY noticeable, we finally decided on surgery to correct it. Dr. Blumenfeld did a beautiful job, his bedside manner is great, he is patient with both parent and child, he is thorough, it is clear that he is dedicated to his patients, and he explains everything very clearly.Its only been about a week since the surgery, but I couldn’t be happier with the results. I can wholeheartedly recommend the level of care you and/or your child will receive here.

I took my daughter to several doctors including ophtalmologist who used powerful lenses to look into her eyes since she had been complaining with eye pain, extreme sensitivity to light and a lot of discomfort. Dr. Schneier accomplished what the others couldnt. He just took a look at her without using any equipment and almost inmediately told me what she had. A glitter was inserted on her eye. He found what the others couldnt only using his naked eye!!He was also sweet and caring and funny! Great professional and a great human being!!

My wife had an appointment at 1:20 today. Left office at 3:30!. This is a common occurrence with this location (Maitland). Forget apologies here. You won’tGet one. Overflowing waiting area.

Dr. Marsh diagnosed our 2 year old son with 4th nerve palsy, he preformed surgery on his right eye this October. He was wonderful to work with, patient with our numerous questions and made us feel comfortable going into the procedure. Our sons eyes are now even, and it has corrected his head tilt, we know he must feel much better.

Excellent experience. From initial consultation through surgery and follow-up, Dr. Blumenfeld and staff made me feel very comfortable and confident. Very professional in all aspects and results were better than I would have expected. Would recommend them highly.

Recently, our daughter had surgery for her strabismus condition and the entire process was very well explained from start to finish. Dr. D. Auerbach recently performed cataract surgery with lens replacement in both of my eyes. I am so very pleased with the results! The recovery was so quick and I can see perfectly with no issues! I highly recommend this very knowledgeable and skilled physician!

Very slow. Hard to do eyeglass tests with mask rules. They require masks when you are the only one in the room, no Dr, just you.

I have been going to Eye Physicians of Central Florida seeing Dr Auerbach for over 10 years. I couldnt be happier with my care. The office is the best run medical office I have ever been to. Dr Auerbach and his support staff are knowledgeable and attentive. When I was having problems with my vision, they spent hours patiently working to find a solution - and they did! I highly recommend for everything from regular vision checkups to cataract surgery and eye diseases.

Never scheduled my wifes surgery, she had to call them after they forgot. Expect to spend most of your day here. Then after surgery they forgot to phone in her eye drops so she was left all weekend without them and by Monday didnt need them. Hope to never return. Staff was nice.

Really disappointed and feel almost tricked after my 13 year old daughter’s visit. We called and made an appointment specifically since they were covered under Cigna. I have vision and medical with Cigna. After a routine new patient and office visit and an exam, we were told that they are covered under Cigna and are putting it under our medical plan and all we had to pay was the copay. I received a bill for almost $500 dollars today due to the technicality that Ophthalmologists don’t fall under vision coverage but Optometrists are. I wish this was better explained, I don’t think anyone would choose to pay 500 for an eye exam when they can pay 50 with their vision plan. When we were told they were under Cigna and to just pay the copay, we thought that was the end of it.****Updated 1/4/21I spoke with Tiffaney today and she helped clarify this for us. I was really impressed with how she handled the situation and showed that they really care about their patients. Thank you!

Dr. Auerbach removed my cataracts. The whole experience was extremely well organized, the procedure was painless, and Dr. Auerbach was both professional and very kind. I am very happy with the outcome, and I recommend this practice without hesitation.

From the start the experience was great. They accommodated schedule changes via a real person that picked up the phone every time I called (more than 10 times) over the course of months. Once diagnosed with a cataract that required surgery, the staff was top notch providing options, risks/benefits and costs.Surgery went well. The regime of eye drops was presented to me an orderly manner that allowed me to keep on schedule with my recovery.I was visiting the office over the holiday season; it was very cute that I was greeted by a friendly gentleman dressed in a seasonal and festive wardrobe. Id be curious if there is a bunny costume in the spring.

I was referred to their optomotrist service from my eye doctor. My eye doctor said Eye Physicians of Central Florida would call me soon. They didnt call, so I called them. I called them four times. Every time I called, the message said they are experiencing higher than normal call volume and that I was between the 8th and 14th in line. They only have two offices. How many phone agents do they have? Anyway, after waiting a minute or two I get hung up on. There is no way to leave a message or have them call me back. So, I went online and left them a message there. They never called me or emailed back, and yes I looked in my spam folder. So, I called my original eye doctor back for a referral to a different optometrist. Obviously Eye Physicians of Central Florida doesnt need my business.

Drove an hour to get here for my childs appointment. Upon checking in we were told only one parent aloud. So my wife went in with my son and they told me I needed to wait in the car. That is information the office staff, scheduling appointments should be telling people over the phone, so they do not have to take off work to sit in the car. Very disappointed.

While I was not the patient I took my friend to a 1:00 appt and at 3:30 FINALLY got in to see the Dr.this is totally unacceptable. All paperwork was filled out in advance.

Dr. Gold needs to have his practice shut down. He yelled and mistreated my friend and her 2 year old son. Her son kept saying how scared he was of Dr. Gold when he got into the car, later on that night and also the next day he repeated how scared he was of Dr. Gold. He has been rude with them for the last 3 appointments as well. His assistant had the audacity to say that he sometimes gets loud and maybe he has a bad day but she knows that still was not an excuse to act the way he did. On top of that the whole staff including the assistant are disregarding it and lying to cover the TRUE facts! This is unacceptable! No one take your child to Dr. Gold! Bad day or not, he should his worries and stresses back home and never take out his frustration on his patients, especially child patients.

Unfortunately we had a horrifying experience with Dr. Gold in Maitland yesterday. When my 2 year old son got scared and started crying Dr. Gold asked me to hold his arms down so he could get his eye pressure. While I was trying to console him, Dr. Gold took it upon himself to snatch his arms down from his face. From there he told me he didnt think he could help us and asked how our other Doctors were able to do it. I told him they were very patient. He did not like that answer and began to yell at me that I should just go back to that hospital. After he yelled some more I finally interjected and asked if he worked with children and reminded him my son is only 2. This made him even more angry and he shouted that hes been doing this over 33 years and walked out of the room and slammed the door. His administrator, Tiffany, talked to me and apologized and told me it was no excuse but hed had a bad day. I am still in disbelief and my son now has to wait another month to be seen.

Showed the covid protcals on their website and was told too bad his call. My daughter had a clogged tear duct and had to have surgery at 11 months old. Dr. Blumenfeld is very professional, knowledgeable and kind. He’s very informative on any procedure your child may have. The staff was alway pleasant.The best part for us was the nurses and staff in the surgery center. They were also very professional and so nice and made such an emotional time a little better. I would definitely recommend this WHOLE facility for anything needed.

Dr David Auerbach is an excellent physician. I wish I would have found him sooner, I am very grateful for his expertise. I have an a visual acuity in my left eye that I do not remember having for most of my life. So can I expand my review? This physician is worth the wait. What I felt in this office was competency. Yes, you do have to go to other rooms, where they are double checking their results. They also have different specialties. I have been wearing glasses since the 5th grade. I have seen more eye doctors in my lifetime than I can remember. Hes a surgeon and his time is allocated to surgeries, on adults and Children and Babies too. He does run an efficient practice. Excellence is not a concept in that office it is a daily practice.

I had cataracts removed from both eyes and elected to go with multi-focal lens replacement. Dr. David Auerbach performed both procedures and not only was a thrilled with my vision after the surgeries, I found Dr. Auerbach to be a true professional in every way. Not only did Dr. Auerbach perform his magic during surgery, he was great both pre and post surgery. My vision pre surgery had really declined a great deal. I now see 20-20 and do not need glasses for distance or reading. The procedure was pain free and very easy. I highly recommend Dr. Auerbach and the Eye Physicians of Central Florida Team!

The set up from start to finish was super efficient. Everyone on staff we met was very friendly and pleasant. It was worth the drive from Winter Garden. I highly recommend this practice.

First off, the office is beautiful, clean, and very organized. We had an amazing experience with Dr. Gold and all the staff at the Maitland office. They were extremely courteous and right on time. Originally had an issue with getting through on the phone and getting a call back from anyone at the office. After leaving a negative review I got a call back from the office manager. She was really nice and took ownership of all the problems I had. We got scheduled for the procedure my son needed and everything has been great since.

I am an adult patient of Dr. Blumenfeld. I had Strabismus surgery last week and I’m overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. My eye has been extremely crossed since I was a kid. I’ve been wanting my eye corrected my whole life, but due to trauma of my eye other doctors wouldn’t try. I was told the odds were against me. Dr. Blumenfeld explained all the risks and the odds of it not working. Long story short, my eye looks perfect. We had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Gold. My daughter was born with strabismus, and had surgery at 11 months to correct it in Washington DC. When we moved to FL, I was worried we had to do that again (one doc wanted to cut her 5 min after seeing her!), but under Dr. Golds very careful monitoring and approach we managed to get her eyes stable and her eyesight continues to improve. We have to drive 90 minutes to see him and it is worth every effort. She had a better than anticipated outcome with her depth perception, focus and vision and only wears a very light prescription. He exhausted all resources while trying to make my daughters eyes stronger and we managed attain the best possible eyesight for her-without a second surgery. If your kid has the same condition, go see this doctor as soon as possible! It is worth it and you will be happy that you did. So will your kid! (Hes also hilarious and both my kids love him.)

The heart went out of this practice when Dr Zaymore died. Instead of something earnest it has become something driven by greed. One of the doctors is appropriately named because you will wish to have that hour back rather than waste time with these people.

I recently had surgery to remove cataracts and correct vision, performed by Dr. Auerbach. I was extremely pleased with all aspects of my care by this practice. Dr. Auerbach was kind and excellent. The surgery scheduler, Carissa, was superb - every detail was handled beautifully. I highly recommend Dr. Auerbach. The other team members in the practice were also very helpful and friendly.

My experience with Eye Physicians of Central Florida was a positive one. The office personnel was friendly, thorough, always helpful. Dr. Auerbach and his team were like a Well-oiled machine and I have restored vision for which I am very thankful!

I was so concerned at first as a parent having your child have eye surgery and going thru general anesthesia but my daughter is happy that it was done and the results have been amazing. I was the driver for someone who had eye surgery and checkups there with Dr. Auerbach. I was very impressed with how professional everything is there, from the waiting room, to the staff. I really like the older guy who greets and shows people where to go. My friend has gone to Dr. Auerbach for more than 10 years and feels very comfortable with his advice and knowledge. We appreciate it that the tv is not turned up loud. Thank you! The wifi is a very nice extra.

I found the staff and doctors at Eye Physicians friendly, courteous and professional. Interestingly, they had an older gentlemen there to greet me and escort me to the front desk. The office was beautifully decorated and I only had to wait 30 minutes before being seen. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent eye care.Michael

How long does it take to get a call back for an appointment? Ive been trying to set up up after a reccomdation and it hasnt been going well. I have really high Hopes for this place.

All the good reviews are about the doctor and how kids feel comfortable during their appointments. I’m sure the doctors are great, but I never got to find out because I spent almost two hours past my appointment waiting, while people came after me and went in until I was the only person left waiting. When confronting the workers, they reacted very rudely and scoffed and rolled their eyes. The lady at the desk was very unprofessional when we told her to cancel the appointment. According to other reviews, we’re not the only ones. Either train your employees better and act decently towards your clients or be reported for malpractice. Unbelievable.

Excellent Physicians and surgery center. Dr. Auerbach was my Dr. and did and outstanding job on my replacement lens for cataract surgery. I am extremely pleased with the outcome and highly recommend Dr Auerbach and the surgery team.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Auerbach for over 13 years. I value his advice, and the time he spends and how he explains everything to me. I just had cataract surgery in both eyes (at separate times) everything was explained and went smoothly. The surgery center was great as was the staff, I was nervous, and they kept me calm. I would highly recommend Dr. Auerbach. The staff is helpful from the minute you walk in the door until you leave. There is Wi-Fi, which is nice and a TV which is turned down low with closed captioning which is great as most Doctors offices have a blaring TV! I tend to panic when I go to the Doctor, but do not do so as the staff is very calming and comforting. Thank you Dr. Auerbach!

My 12 year old has Strabismus in right eye. He had surgery Friday and Dr. Blumenfield did an excellent job and his staff the nurses and the anesthesiologist were so great with my son. Easing his fears before surgery. Thank you so much!

Excellent experience from beginning to end.

We have been multiple times to this location in maitland for our toddler’s allergic eye issues. Dr Blumenfeld is very professional and works well with our son. The staff is also polite and courteous. The only downside is calling to make appointments. Sometimes it can take awhile to be seen. The other complaint is how long we are IN the office waiting to be seen, which varies. With small children, they’re only good for so long. Other than that, we are appreciative of the Dr.

It took over a month to schedule an appointment because the doctor needed my complete files from three other doctors BEFORE they would even schedule an appointment. When I was finally seen I was rushed around the office from room to room. I was in the office for over an hour and spent 5 minutes with the doctor. He was dictating notes to the nurse instead of speaking to me, and he laughed at me stating “that’s not normal” when I told him about something odd I’ve been experiencing. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Dr. Schneier MD is the best eye physician Ive worked with. He is extremely thorough, knowledgeable, & precise! Goes the extra mile whenever possible. We had a minor complication with this surgery and he was able to fix it in the office without having another out patient surgery . My vision has drastically improved, no more headaches, double vision, and best of all my eyes are straight. I highly recommend this group of business professionals to anyone who needs help with their vision or eye movement!!!

Eye Physicians of Central Florida is highly recommended. Dr.Blumenfeld is an excellent doctor. He performed surgery on my right eye. Before the surgery I was very skeptical that I would have good results in correcting a condition that allowed my eye to drift, coupled with advance age of 66. However, Dr. Blumenfeld took special care to inform/educate me of the procedures and success rate. The end results are beyond my expectations. I was referred by my optometrist to Dr. Blumenfeld for adult strabismus that had progressed rapidly. The exam I received was the most in depth one I’ve ever gotten so when he recommended surgery I agreed. The surgical center staff was attentive and kind, and my surgery was an overwhelming success. My eyes are now perfectly aligned and my depth perception grandly improved. Recovery was steady and rapid. I was driving just 3 days later and fully functional. I would highly recommend both Dr. Blumenfeld and the Maitland Surgical Center.

Staff was quick, courteous and helpful when I arrived and I was able to see my Doctor promptly. It was nice that I was able to take care of much of the necessary paperwork ahead of time by contacting the office by phone.Dr. Blumenfeld was excellent. He spent additional time with me going over immediate options and planning out my long-term eye care (which is nice as I am starting to get a little older). I plan on bringing my kids to this office.I would highly recommend this practice and Dr. Blumenfeld.
