If I could give 0 stars I would.Horrible service.Went to get food with a friend, had us waiting for about 10 min to get a menu, and 30hr to get our order in, horrible servers attitude, servers were just talking all the time by the register. Didn’t bring all the item we asked and when I got up to ask for them they gave me bad attitudes.I don’t get how this place has 4 stars.Don’t waste your time and money.

Review for the grocery store, a small but decent selection of staples and specialty items. They also have a fairly well stocked butcher case and beer fridge. There have been a couple times Ive needed help finding items and they have always been willing to take the time to help me look for the item. Have not have the food in a while so I wont comment on that.

Always a great experience here. Food comes out fast and tastes well. If I could make one suggestion it would be that if youre ordering something thats deep fried, Id recommend sitting down there to eat, as opposed to take-out. By the time you get home, the grease soaks into the fried food and gets kind of chewy.

Best tacos in Madison! So glad they are opened back up. They remodeled too so it looks really nice inside. Prices went up a bit but still a good value.

Listen... Their food is bomb, ALL of it and I grew up eating my familias authentic Mexican food. The menudo is perfect!!! The tamales are HUGE we worth $18 a dozen with so much meat, sauce and good flavor!!! I can go on, like I said, everything is bomb here!

Two cashiers were rude. The food is not worth the price. The burrito has uneven proportions with dry meat. The food overall is bland. The beans tasted expired. I do not reccomend this place.

Excellent food (some of the best Mexican in Madison), but the initial ordering was slow and the servers were rude. Did not acknowledge my request for a particular drink, but I later saw that they had it in their drink cooler. Does help if you can speak Spanish.

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in the area in terms of taste, presentation, portions, and price. We had chicken sopes and a carne asada chimichanga with a piña colada. Both were delicious along with being generously portioned. Their carne asada is nicely seasoned and combined with cheese inside of a crunchy, deep fried tortilla. It is served with rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, and limes. The sopes are pulled chicken on a deep fried crust topped with lettuce and tomato I did not take a bite of the sopes, so I cannot describe the flavor, but my fiance enjoyed them tremendously. The piña coladas were truly amazing. The combinations of tropical flavors and the subtle, but still present taste of the liquor made them a pleasure to drink. I would recommend Los Gemelos to everyone.

I am always a fan of the food here. Their food is very authentic and flavorful. They are doing well with the current capacity guidelines due to Covid-19. All in all, an excellent experience.

Been here over and over and over. Cant get enough of that chicken quesadilla. Ive never found anything similar, and its so good.The hot sauce really makes it though, so I always get a bunch.This time I also got a pastor taco and was very pleased

Worse service EVER!! Waitress acting like she didn’t want to be there! Took her 10 minutes to acknowledge us. And another 20 to get our drinks, maybe 15 to get our food. She never came back to see if we wanted refills.When I spoke to the manager, he said they don’t do things like other restaurants?!! Do what? Am I supposed to go get my own drink behind the bar??!!Owner didn’t care, no wonder this place it’s still a bad place to eat. If the owners don’t care how their staff treat their customers they’re never getting anywhere!

No seasoning on the chicken in the burrito. Food was over all really bland needs more seasoning. Wouldnt go there again.

Very good food, fast service. Great fajitas and burritos. On weekends they add lengua and carnitas to the meat choices. The food is flavorful but not spicy, however they do have salsas and hot sauces available.

Some of the best tacos in Madison. Their chili rellenos are also really, really good; the sauce they come in is amazing and even better with warm corn tortillas. Service has always been fine when weve dined it pre-covid. Weve done take out a bunch and have never had problems. They are located in small grocery store and you can buy a variety of items as well.

The food is fantastic, but the service can be slow and the prices have increased 25% since the last time I was there (example, tacos used to be $2.25 and are now $2.99 each).

Most authentic and delicious tacos in Wisconsin, period! I literally come here every weekend. Great prices and so much flavor. The chicken and pastor tacos are my favorite. Make sure you bring cash to tip because you can’t tip with a card.

Not impressed at all. Restaurant was dirty, food was not good, service was not good. Only two or three vegetarian options. I wouldnt recommend and dont plan to visit again.

I ordered the chicken chimney changa the meal was really good chicken was a bit tough and dry it probably would be perfect if they used rotisserie chicken instead of dry shredded chicken breast it looks so much better with the new remodel over all its a great place to eat out I only took a star away because of the dry chicken

For the 3rd time they completely messed up my order, when I got the food and checked it in the car not 5 min after leaving the restaurant && it was COLD! now i did go in around 8:45 and this location closed at 9, mistakenly I ordered from the wrong location. However still is not an excuse to get COLD FOOD. I left the location at 8:55-9. ( They were closing as I was waiting for my order) They did NOT pick up when I tried to call back, completely waisted $24 on food... the BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT!

I’m from Texas and missed good authentic Mexican food when I moved up to Madison. Luckily this place provides amazing Mexican authentic Mexican food and a wide variety of Mexican goods which are hard to come by at the grocery store. I had the carne asada tacos and they were delicious.

Great food at excellent prices. Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. You have to know it is there ahead of time in order to find it. They lose a star for the atmosphere. (Think made over pizza place stuck off of the side of a corner grocery store). Seems family friendly. Will definitely go back.

If you want an authentic Mexican experience. Walk through the mercado and get yourself a soda and then go sit down and wait for this food. It is the best around .

Food is always great and made promptly. Its always fresh as well as the ingredients are always in good quality and they are never shy to give you healthy portions. The staff was nice and friendly and made us feel welcome in their restaurant. It was an enjoyable experience. Place can use a few upgrades but I know its a growing business... That being said, I love the authentic style of the overall atmosphere and it adds to the experience of being in an authentic Mexican restaurant. Hispanic approved! (Im from Nicaragua btw👩‍🚀)

Very mexican and good food

The chicken is flavorful and the refried beans are delicious. This is my go to take out place when I dont feel like making dinner. Definitely worth stopping in!

If you want light, simple, delicious, authentic Mexican food, go here go here go here!Dont let the exterior scare you away. Tienda Los Gemelos is hiding a clean, spacious dining room, with table service and a real menu -- you dont have to order from a signboard. And they take credit cards. And you grab your own drink from the cooler...I love me some Mexican Coca-Cola these days.

I want to love this place but, other than the chile relleno (which is good), the food and drinks weve tried were generous but just okay. Dont think I could get my husband to go back. This last time, we were waited on promptly but our waitress kept disappearing for several minutes throughout our time there. It was a full 15 minutes before she brought our drinks. Waitress never smiled and never came to check on us. Gentleman who took our payment at the cash register, however, is always friendly and upbeat.

Food was good and even better they have an honest staff. My son left his phone there 2 days ago. I called this morning and they had it! We tried to tip them for keeping it for them and they would not accept the tip. Honest staff!!! Thank you so so much!!!

I come here for meals often! I am a big fan of their tacos and quesadillas. The portions are generous and affordable, the meat is flavorful and juicy. The taco tortillas are crispy on the edges and have a great chewy texture. The quesadilla shells are fried to the perfect degree, and the melty cheese is wonderful when youre looking for additional savoriness. Delicious, simple food for a great price.

Food is overpriced.....my bf went in to get food. The lady was holding the bag asking the other lady did he pay. My bf clearly told her he had already paid for the food. Smh.

I dont think there is another place quite to this level in Madison... You know it legit when theyve got Hispanic soap operas playing in all four corners.

Place is nice now, and food is very good, but service is not the best, it will nice if just one waitress take your order and service the table, this is my second time there and again something in my order was forgotten.

I only got a dozen tamales to go. The pork ones were really good, the chicken were just okay. I thought I was getting all pork and next time I will ask if that is an option. The staff didnt seem very friendly and I came when they were not busy. Next time I will try something from the restaurant, too.

Festive decor, usually quick service and good prices. I love their Pastor tacos minus onions. I normally get 2 tacos for $2 each and thats extremely filling. My wife enjoys their chicken Quesadillas. Their apple soda in glass bottles are also recommended.

This place has such wonderful food and staff. Its my favorite Mexican restaurant in west Madison. Everyone should go! Just so youre aware, you have to go through the small store to get to the restaurant in the back. They also dont have fountain soda, but the food is so worth it!

I called and ordered food to go. They told me 15 minutes food will be ready. I got there, my food was not ready. Total of 40 minutes since I called and got my food. They didnt care; when I got home, my wife got a wrong food. Food is good, service bad. We used to go, and eat there, but customer service is always bad. I dont know, they could get better.

Ordered dinner and I had to go to counter to ask for water. Mild sauce is green and warwey and hot. Its not mild at all.Chips have no flavor at all.The waitress never came to my table after my dinner was served. Ran out water and had to go to counter to get a to go box.Lousy service. 3 waitresses and maybe 10 tables.Had to go ask for ticket.The steak nachos? Good...but nothing to make me want to come back.

Great tortas and pozole

This has been my favorite place to eat tacos for years and years now, but I was thoroughly disappointed my last visit a few weeks back. The waiter got our order wrong, there was a long black hair in the chips, and the steak tacos tasted as though the meat had been reheated. I almost never write reviews, especially bad ones but the overall experience was just awful in comparison to the past. It appeared they were looking for a new chef so hopefully some of these issues will resolve with them hiring someone, if not, Im sad that I will have to find a new taco place.

Some of the BEST authentic Mexican food on town. Kinda a hole in the wall hidden at the back of the grocery store, but the food is great. I also love the verde salsa they make and put it on everything.Definately check this place out.

Good food, short wait for it to come to the table. The tortilla chips were not that great. A little bland. I had the steak chimichanga. A little dry, but the meat had a lot of flavor. The guacamole was excellent! I think next time I will try the torta. If you want soda to drink, ypu ha e to buy it yourself from the grocery store that shares the space. Overall, I would recommend them for a quick lunch or dinner. It would be awesome if they had fountain soda. Pretty good food. Very nice wait staff. Ill be back for sure!
