They have a really good collection of Asian stuffs. Not only Chinese, but also Japanese and Korean.

Not super clean, and the premade food likes like it had been there a while. The State Street location is better.

J&P offers a wide variety of Chinese food products at a reasonable price. They even have harder to find veggies like lotus root and Chinese eggplant. I’m excited to cook up some delicious food!

Sometimes they complain about me being there late, but overall very nice and clean and professional. They have a lot here too!

A Chinese market with quite a lot fresh grocery items. Vegetables are pretty good. Inside has a tiny restaurant-like booth, in which it sells some Chinese street food. Good taste with a reasonable price!

This store is clean and a lot of choices. During COVID19 pandemic, it has very good policies for protecting the health of both employees and customers. As of Jun 2020, the customers are required to wear face masks and gloves. The numbers of customers in store are also limited.

HORRIBLE place! I ordered stuff in the quarantine time and the product they provided are ridiculously expensive with poor quality. The worst thing is they wouldnt show you the price, so they would only pick the most expansive one for you. I bought two dozens of eggs with $5 each, and they are not even organic! I brought the broken one to them but they didnt offer to exchange, and they blamed that on me even though I had never left the parking lot. They kept saying something they dont speak English, and their attitude are really bad. KEEP AWAY FROM THAT BLOOD SUCKING MARKET!

I went there quite often until one day, I bought a can of expired oyster here. Well, that is fine people can be careless about this. I returned it and the next week, I saw this oyster in their fridge again! And this time they covered the expiration date on the can with a price label. Im pretty sure this is the same oyster can because I checked the date under the label. I totally believe they did this on purpose. So, stay away from this place, and these dishonest staff. They dont care the food quality they are selling. They just want to sell it.

Nice Asian market. Very clean. Good selection of some stuff, but missing some items, particularly those that are popular for Cantonese cooking (fun noodles - the wide flat rice noodles). Good Asian produce selection.

Ive been visiting for a few months now, and its my preferred location for any produce they carry. If you want chayote (pear squash) or napa cabbage, its always nicer at J&P than at nearby Woodmans.And, they have melon candies.

This is probably the best Chinese store you can find in Madison. They truly know what Chinese, especially Chinese students want. Plus the restaurant next door is not bad. Its not American style Chinese food you would find here. Its northern Chinese food and they dont use tons of spicy ingredients to raise the flavor. Of course, this 5 stars are for only Madison area.

Good veriety of Chinese groceries. I always can find what i need. The freshly made deli section is pretty good but only available on weekends. I also like the Chinese restaurant Zen Zen thats connected to the grocery store. Makes it convenient to eat and shop at one stop.

Great place with great prices. Gets busy easily as there are only 2 checkout lanes. That is typically on a Friday night when it is busiest. Food is good at the restaurant as well.

There are a few Asian markets in the area but this is the one our family mostly shop at. There is a good selection of stuff, both frozen and fresh.

Finally! A good Asian grocery store on the west side! There is a good and authentic selection of Asian products at this unassuming little store. Its conveniently located just across from Woodmans so that a person can do all their grocery shopping at once. When browsing the store, I was impressed with the selection of fresh vegetables, meat and seafood. The signage across the store had lots of Chinese, and the sweet lady who checked me out also spoke to me in Chinese (she speaks in English, too.) The atmosphere is open and friendly and Im definitely going there again!

I am revising five stars to one.There are lots of products over best before dates here! I notified the staff twice, and this happened a third time today! They should be fined.

As soon as you walk in, a guy tells you you have to buy gloves (only 10 cents, but still) in order to come in.

They have a variety of Asian, mostly Chinese, food, cooker and necessities, etc, and I really like many of them.But the reason that I only rate 2 stars is fatal: as someone mentioned below, many product they sell is over best before date, and I even found something on the shelf that was half-a-year over!Moreover, the cooked food they sell tastes very strange and awkward, I suspect that therere something unhealthy.

A lot of authentic Chinese stuff and fresh produce. Many Chinese residents and students go there regularly. They even take WeChat and ali pay.

I think it is the best Asian market in Madison. It kind of catches up with the trendy food in China. The shopping environment is not going to be very satisfying, but the trade-off is worth.

They do not accept American Express cards. It is not hard coded in their point of sale system. They just do not accept them. Probably to save the 1% transaction fee difference. Very bad customer shopping experience here.

The worst shopping experience ever in the U.S.I bought a pot ($25) and it cracked after the first use. I asked them whether I could get a replacement and got a yes. The next day I drove there and they told me they could not give me a replacement.

Things are expensive and not fresh, and many expired foods. Stir-fry and cooked food are overnight. If there was an option I would like to rate 0 star for J&P. It sells many over shelf-life products deliberately. Too many foods and dishes have been past their expiration dates! Staff there are dishonest. Be aware, be aware! Please shop there if you want to waste your money to buy some anger.
