Absolutely fantastic! Homemade tortillas that you watch being made while you eat. Its like eating bread at a bakery straight out of the oven. The chicken in the tacos was marinated and was savory and flavorful. A variety of freshly made salsas from mild to fire. Highly recommended.

The owner maria and her kid with no arms are stealing money in the machine too people. Horrible how they use the people here. Cucarachas in the kitchen. Horrible no cleaning. Or sanitary. Good luck

I keep finding new things to try here. I do wish they had their cactus salad more often and in smaller containers. Its so much better than the stuff in jars.

I live in Chicago however, my friend lives there Madison. My friend took me here to get a Burrito which by the way are hugh cause its their favorite but I got my favorite A steak Torta (Mexican Sandwich) which are hugh and so delicious I brought me 2 back to Chi. I would highly recommend this place. Oh get there early lunch time a crowd.

These were the best tacos lve ever had. I pigged out with 2 birria tacos added cheese, and 2 chorizo tacos. Make sure you get a side of the birria consume to dip your tacos in.

Mercado marinara is small but packed store Latino oriented. As an international/ immigrant myself, it is one of the 3 places where I can get some goodies that I will not find in ay loc stores. Their prices are good, I side you have a restaurant too. You can eat on-site or to go.

Went there last weekend and food is awesome! We tried menudo, quesadillas de huitlacoche, tacos de barbacoa and nopales. All the salsas are delicious! If you want to try real Antojitos mexicanos come here! As a plus, the place is very clean and there is enough space to keep social distance.

I have been searching for birria tacos with consomme and let me tell you, this is it! Ive tried birria tacos from a few other places in Madison but they didnt hit with the right taste and flavor that I got from Mercado Marimar. The tortillas are made fresh in front of you and everything is super delicious. I wouldve taken a picture but I couldnt wait to dig in. I believe it was about $10 for a plate of 3 tacos with the consomme so the price is average for this area. Definitely give it a try!

Such a fantastic small business to support in Madison. They make everything from scratch, including the hand ground corn tortillas, which you will probably see them making when you go. You will feel like you are in Mexico. This place is so authentic. Everything is fresh and delicious. Staff are friendly. Also, dont miss the desserts, which are on a rack near the cashier. I had one of the best churros of my life here-- custardy center and crunchy, sweet cinnamon-y exterior. Absolutely delicious. You can also pick up specialty Mexican items in the grocery store.

Any of the employees follow the basic guidelines for COVID: No mask, no hand sanitizers available, any of the clients respect the social distances. Paradoxically, at the entrances there is a sign encouraging the use of mask, but no even the cashier wears one. I asked about her mask and she mention that she just wear it when there are people in the store. I guess Im a hologram. The most concerning situation is that not even the people who handle the food wear gloves.

Awesome taqueria type restaurant in the back with seating and a Mexican market. Food is awesome. Recommend the burrito or anything pastor and on the weekend they have their own tortilla machine cranking out fresh tortillas.

My family and I have always been satisfied with the employees, they’re ALWAYS very friendly. But the owners on the other hand... (specially the older lady) are very rude. At check out my mom had a bad experience, (and it’s not the first incident). The owner’s son was literally throwing the items on the counter, for my mom to bag them. One of the employees even noticed his attitude because she offered to help bag the items but she was ignored. He was also like this with the previous customer. If your going to open a store, the least you can do is take some lessons with regards to your customer service.

Hardly anyone speaks English, and you second-guess if you walked into the right place your first time through the door. But once you make it back to the kitchen area: probably the best tacos I’ve ever had. (I’ve lived a lot of different places) Every food-stuff I’ve had from here has been fantastic. I’m mildly disappointed that 5-stars has become a standard review for somewhere you didn’t get food-poisoning, because food here is truly exceptional, and on that scale they deserve at least a 7.

They have so many options and reasonable prices. They also have some candies from Mexico that I havent been able to find elsewhere.

Awesome homemade tortillas and lunch counter. Some of the best prepared tacos in Madison. The butcher is great too--will cut meat however you want it. The rest of the store is so-so: kind of dirty and shabby and disorganized. Poor quality of most of the produce.

Besides the yummy yummy restaurant, I live the enchiladas in mole sauce, they are also a grocery store. Good prices on produce, and they carry some out of the ordinary things. Love having them right across the street from my house.

You can usually find what youre looking for here as far as authentic Mexican groceries but the staff can be a little uninterested. Minus 1 star due to the lack of courtesy when dealing with customers, especially if you have a big order for the meat department.All-in-all, one of the better stocked options in Madison.

Tradicional mexican food its good

Overstock of many different types of Latin America foods. Very few products from Guatemala but happy to have found some. Some Goya stuff and lots of imported Mexican products.As for the food, we went on a Sunday evening and they didnt have much left. We ordered Quesadilla but found it to be sloppy and pretty heavy on the sauced chicken and cheese. We wouldnt recommend. We also ordered tamale and tacos al pastor. Honestly, Ive had better. But could have that we were turned off by the flies that hoovered over us while we ate. Tables werent thoroughly cleaned. And the sauces were in open containers so pretty much guarantees that flies were having a pool party there. Needless to say we didnt try those.Oh and I forgot to mention we had a hair in our food. So we wouldnt be going back there. Too bad service was good.

Clearly, I have not visited many Mexican grocers, ever. But this one had everything I could think to specifically go to a Mexican grocer for: That is, chorizo, tamales & plantains. They were all delicious. Whats more, the chorizo was far superior to anything offered by chain grocery stores like Hy-Vee or Piggly Wiggly.
