A decent experience with food at the dining hall of UW Madison. Its got variety of food. Make your own at a few stations. Cheap options available. Great for having a light snack too. Not the best deserts. Good place to hang out. Maybe get a little work done.

The meat is hit or miss but I love the stir fry and mexican. Salad is overpriced, pizza is sometimes dry, pasta is good but you have to ask for extra sauce, and apparently tea packets cost about a buck each...

This place has a lot of options. My children couldnt make up their minds. We finally settled on deli sandwiches and pizza. We were all pleased with our selections. The checkout process was quick and it was reasonably priced. The eating area was constantly being cleaned. So I appreciate their commitment to cleanliness.

Amazing food, and good choices to choose from, it is a buffet and they serve every meal of the day .Breakfast:$7.49Lunch: $10.05Dinner: $10.45They have loads of different choices of food, they do have veggie burgers and salads, all meals also come with a dessert if you want one. They do have burgers and cooked foods.Every thing that you could think would be at a regular restaurant, they have it. Weather its fruit, vegetables, vegetarian choices, meat, fries, a cookie or two, or you want something simple like macaroni. If your person that loves cereal, they always have that.Their eating tables are four different sections, depending on where you sit. They have a section right when you walk out of the area, two other sections just down the hallway and if you want to have a good eating view you can walk up the stairs and they have places that you can eat.But you have to rember that this place is by a lot of collage dorms, so there will be collage kids walking around. There may also be construction near by, depending on when you read this possibly across the street theres construction.I would definitely go anytime, very reasonable prices, amazing food, and good seating.

Probably the largest of the six dining halls on campus. They have multiple stations, with global cuisines, pizza, comfort food, salads, baked goods, etc. The menu changes every day so theres always a wide variety to choose from. Resident prices are 30% off and relatively affordable. The event spaces upstairs are large and spacious and often the location of cool events.

The food is honestly mediocre, but the price for students is unmatched. Pretty wide range of foods and they also supply foods for people with gluten free or vegan diets. Massive amounts of seating. The silverware can be a little dirty sometimes.

Review №14

Staff was very rude and unhelpful. Would very obviously avoid looking at me when I was trying to get their attention to ask something. This was the full-time adult staff too, not the college kids. They rarely have enough staff during busy hours, so you have to wait 10-20 minutes in line at multiple food stations. The checkout line is usually halfway through the hall, making you wait another 5-15 minutes. The food is usually pretty decent but also unreasonably expensive if you’re not a resident.

Da
Review №15

Food is better than most on the campus. However this is a place strictly for student with meal plans. About 89% of the atmosphere is college students at all times. The lines can be astonishing long. Not the best place to eat when your in a hurry. They also do not like business outside of meal plans. All the checks outside have cash registers but they cant not accept cash. This is not posted anywhere as well. Me and countless other people have had to leave without a meal after waiting 15 mins because they dont accept cash.

Its a university dining hall. Theres a good amount of variety to the food, and some of it is actually pretty good, despite what people say. I do wish theyd put more effort into providing a variety of healthy items, though. If you have a student discount, its a much better deal to eat here than at a restaurant.

Not bad food considering its a dorm cafeteria. The food is relatively cheap especially if you get the 30% resident discount for living with on campus housing. I recommend getting the waffles they are actually quite tasty. They accept wiscard here too which is nice. Most of Gordons customers are students or employees of the university. Not all stations in the cafeteria are open all the time so check online if you want something specific . I am pretty sure that past eight or nine at night the only thing really open is the coffee shop so do not be fooled by the hours listed on the door.

A UW Madison dining hall and event center, that is located kiddie-corner from the Kohl Center, and the surrounding resident halls. It is open to both UW housing residents, and members of the general public.Gordon Dining and Event Center has a marketplace that consists of 8 different quick serve stations, including but not limited to: Capitol City Pizza, Que Rico serving made to order nachos, burritos and rice bowls, and Global Kitchen with its made to order stir fry. There is a late night menu served through a service counter open until midnight weekdays, and 1an Friday and Saturday.Along with the marketplace, there is the Bean and Creamery coffee shop, selling coffee and heaping scoops of Babcock ice cream! Theres also Flamingo Run, an in-house convenience store, selling a wide variety of both snacks and staples. Check out the wallpaper adorning the store with an image of the prank that the stores name originated from! Its worth a visit for a decently priced meal, or a quick bite before the game the next time youre downtown!

The majority of customers here are students as youd expect given that its right in an area with 5 or 6 dorms and a lot of other student housing, but UW faculty, staff, and the general public are also allowed to eat here. It gets quite crowded during prime lunch hours (11:30am to 1pm), but I really enjoy the salad bar, which is typically well-stocked with many options. Prices are reasonable.

Even has an express section. It is open during the summer.Seats about 500 on the main floor and 200 on the upper section. There are rooms for university organizations use upstairs.Gordons is comfortable, friendly, and offers a great view of Johnson St. There is also outside seating. On the large lawn area in front of the building there is room to throw a frizbee or other such air born missles. and a basket ball court just off to the side of the building.See their excellent website, which includes their daily menuì
