We worked with Blaine and he did the right amount of giving us the information we wanted/needed about purchasing a crosstrek without being pushy. He was prompt on getting us information and very helpful. We also worked with the finance staff which were also excellent and extremely helpful on giving us the information we needed on financing options. The day the car arrived we worked with another staff person that answered about a100 questions about my new car. We had a great experience at Don Miller East and would buy from them again. Also I love my new car! :)
We had a fabulous experience with Don Miller Subaru East. It was our second time purchasing an Outback from them, and this time we went with a 2022 Wilderness. I just purchased my Subaru Outback from Don Bronson. He was a very knowledgeable salesperson. He answered all of my questions and was very patient with me. Since bringing my vehicle home, I have called him numerous times for help or to ask some questions. His willingness to help me is greatly appreciated. As a sales person, and a representative of Don Miller Subaru, he is second to none. When I met some of the other staff they were very nice and also willing to offer any assistance I may need. A great place to purchase a car. Being a women, single and having no knowledge of cars, I was comfortable and felt I could trust them to help me and to take care of me without worry.
I recently bought a Forester with Blaine here! For my first time buying a new car, he helped me through the process really well. He did a good job communicating with me and answering any questions I had. When I got the car he took time to show me all the buttons and features and didnt seem rushed. The whole team here is super friendly.
Very happy with my experience this morning. Took my car in for an 8:45am appt to have an alignment done. The car only has 315 miles on it, but its been my experience from over the years that factory alignments are never all that great and one or more parameters may be out of spec, and this was no exception. My steering wheel was a bit off center when driving straight and I was seeing some slight on/off throttle steering tendencies. This told me there was an alignment issue. Anyway, my service advisor was John and immediately greeted me when I drove in. I mentioned how I had the specs on how I would like it aligned to and he noted it as such on the work order and gave them to the technician. After a bit he came and found me with the printout showing before and after and asked if everything looked good. I was very impressed by this gesture. I told him it looks good and he said hed let her know and shed button things up. The technician then took the car for a test drive and once she got back I was on my way. I immediately noticed how the steering wheel was now perfectly straight and didnt take me long to notice how the car just drove better overall requiring less wheel feedback from me seeing it no longer had those on/off throttle steering tendencies. Very happy with how everything turned out.
Tim is the sales person who helped us. It was like talking to an old friend. He is very knowledgeable and was not pushy. He didnt try to steer us toward anything but listened to what we were looking for.Once we settled on a car, Dalena helped us with the financing and she was great. We drove home with the vehicle we wanted and are very happy.I havent gone to a dealership to buy a car for at least 10 years. When Ive gone, I have always prepared myself to push back on the pushy sales people. That wasnt a problem here.

Kevin Gile is the only sales consultant you want. By far the most pleasant salesman Ive interacted with. If you want to bargain, you dont have to hear the no game from this guy. He creates no hassle and directly contacts the manager. We were able to strike a great deal for a great used car. Highly recommend!
We had a great experience buying a car from Don Bronson. We made it easy on him since we knew the model and color we wanted. He had to swap a car with the west dealership. Three days later he was explaining all the safety equipment and helping us set the seat control for each of us. He introduced us to the financial person and soon we were out the door. We feel comfortable calling or going back to Don if we were to have an issues.

Brought my car in to get the check engine light looked at. Was giving it back saying there was nothing wrong and that they just turned off the light. They pulled up my car to return it to me and the light was back on. They said that I would need to make a new appointment which took two to three weeks out. I was told they figured out what the issue was and would get my car back the next day. They did not return my car for over 3 weeks. Hardly any communication they would tell me that I would get it the next day and that I should expect a call. They would not call nor turn my call for days. Said they just had to order a part would be there the next day. Would call the next day to pick up my car and say that part wasnt coming for a week. When car was returned it was missing a piece that they did not replace. I called to get that piece replaced. They told me I could just come pick it up at any time. When I went to pick it up they said they didnt have the piece so it would have to be ordered but that it would be there by the next morning. We scheduled for me to pick it up that next afternoon. When I showed up they said they did not have the piece yet. No courtesy call so having to drive an hour out of my way and again reschedule. Would highly not recommend getting a Subaru car. And even more so would not recommend going through Don Miller Subaru East

Overall its a nice place. Car buying experience was excellent. Service department is slow, even with an appointment it was over an hour for an oil change. Theres plenty of seating, its well lit, theres wifi and complementary water and tea. Plan ahead and get comfortable.

We had recently worked with the west side dealer, however, the inventory was quite low for our needs there and so we drove to the east side and worked with Don Bronson. He was really extremely patient with us as we took three test drives while he watched over our rescue dog. Since the car we chose needed an inspection before purchase, we needed to come in again the next day to do paperwork and Don came in to finish our sale on his day off. Overall the experience was professional, and less stressful than any other car purchase we have made in the last thirty years. All of the other employees were pleasant and respectful. Overall, a really good buying experience.

Greatest car salesman I have had to work with. Conor made the process so easy and did a great job at going through the technology my new car had. After owning our Jeep Cherokee for almost 28 years, it was time for a new vehicle. Joe Neuser helped us with all of our questions, showed us all of the features on the Forester, even made a recommendation of another model (an Outback), then helped us with ordering a Forester to our exact liking. Upon taking delivery, Joe was very patient and thorough with going over all of the technology and features. We feel that we got an outstanding deal, and will definitely be choosing to work with Don Miller in the future.
Staff are all very friendly. Answer questions without hesitation. Dave from webservices, Conor from sales, Nathan from electronics. have great personalities they are very funny. Also financing that normally is a long dread full experience but it wasnt here thats for sure i laughed so much
I recently had my 2011 Subaru Outback into the dealership for an oil change and to do their standard check of the car.When they finished they had said things looked good, they replaced a few filters, topped off my fluids, and also replaced two burnt out lights (one taillight and one for the license plate). Great.However, when I left I noticed that they hadn’t changed the sticker for when I needed my next oil change. Not so great, but hey. Everyone is human - I’ll just hand write it in myself.The thing that is making me leave a one star review came about a week later. I noticed that the indicator for the engine overheating was coming on. I get home, but immediately stop driving it. Once everything is cooled off, I check the antifreeze levels and they are SUPER low, like almost a full bottle needed to be added. Looking at the engine, I can see fluid that had leaked on one half while the other half was dry.Now I hadn’t noticed any recent leaking or giant puddles (or steam/smoke coming from the hood indicating that it all leaked while driving) so this was not a recent thing that had happened since I was at the dealership. They had clearly not checked any of the fluid levels of my car (although it was all marked as good on the sheet that they gave me), and since they did the oil change, the fluid on the one half of the engine was super obvious with even a cursory check.I love my current Subaru, but in the future I will be taking any car maintenance needs elsewhere, and I definitely would not buy a new vehicle from Don Miller’s Subaru dealership (east or west) since I can’t trust that they perform the car maintenance that they say they do (see top off fluids) or to say if they notice something odd (see fluid on engine).
Our sales rep Don Bronson was competent, knowledgeable, honest, and easy to work with. We really appreciated his assistance, especially since we never felt pressured or coerced. I value his ability to listen to my needs for a vehicle. I wasnt expecting to trade my car in early on my lease, but Don Miller Subaru was able to get me out of my current one and into a new lease no problem. I couldnt be more than happy with how fast and seamless this transaction was. Sometimes when you go in to look, you realize something else they have suits your needs best. Jim drove me in a Subaru Wildnerness to test drive a Ascent but I ended up loving the WIlderness. Its a great car and Im super happy to drive the newest Outback for 2022. Recently had an issue with my Subaru Outback just before I was to leave on a road trip on a Friday afternoon, so I took it to the Don Miller East service department to check if there was an issue (I was assuming they could tell me what the issue was and then send me off with an appointment to get it fixed). Bill did a great job, going above and beyond my expectations by helping me get back on the road with a loaner vehicle. I completed my trip, and my car was not only diagnosed but was fully fixed by the end of the day on Monday! Really great service!! The repairs were reasonably priced too!
After 23 years, and 192K miles, it was finally time to retire my 1998 Honda CR-V. Ive always been a fan of Subaru, so after some online research, I headed over to Don Miller East. Joe N was beyond helpful in explaining all the 2021 tech and safety features that I was so unfamiliar with, and he answered all my questions about trim levels and the various features I wanted. One test drive was all it took - I was hooked. When I found the color, trim level and features I wanted on the Forester, Joe, and Rory in Finance, made the buying experience a pleasure. Recently bought a car here during the pandemic. Very safe experience. Scheduled my test drive online through Internet Dave, who was very responsive to my request and needs. When I arrived at the dealership, Conor met my wife and I out front and took us around and showed us a similar model to the one we chose online. This particular model was designated for test drives during the pandemic. Everything was wiped down before and after we looked at the vehicle. Conor was very kind and patient as he showed and describes the features of the vehicle. When we decided to purchase the vehicle, Conor was instrumental in getting us a fair price. We asked to compare the price of two different trim levels, and he was able to show us a complete breakdown of the cost as well as the discounts that we would receive. He was not pushy and did not steer us towards the more expensive trim. We were able to get 0% financing through Subaru, and Rory did a wonderful job making the finance portion of the purchase a pleasant experience. At the end, Conor came back and made sure our new car was completely detailed with a full tank of gas. He showed us how to how to use the features of the car, and indicated that someone would be contacting us in a week or so to answer any further technical aspects we had once we have driven the car for a few days. Overall, a very nice experience at Don Miller Subaru - East. We felt like we joined a wonderful new family. Don Bronson is best auto salesman I ever worked with. No hard sell, just the facts and the price and answers to all my questions. Best price out of 8 dealerships between Illinois and Wisconsin. Would go back to him time and again for next Subaru. Financing was easy as well.
While shopping to upgrade our Outback, we had many frustrations with a couple different dealerships in IL. We came across Don Miller Subaru East and they had an Outback coming in on a truck a week out, in the exact model and color we wanted. It was not a routine transaction as we are from out of state, but they handled it flawlessly. Friendly, accommodating, efficient and FAIR - they could have stuck it to us knowing how far we traveled and our specific wishes - but they gave us better value on our trade in than the previous dealership we worked with in IL, and completely exceeded all of our expectations. They made the trip and experience worth the 3 hour drive and overnight stay. Staff are generally helpful, and the service department is top-notch. I got a great deal on a new car, and a less exciting deal on my trade-in ($1500-2000 under lowest KBB). Conor was excellent to work with and did a great job explaining the features of my new vehicle and making sure all my questions were answered. All-in-all, Im very happy with the new vehicle and their service, but still think my trade was probably worth more than I was offered.

Have been here multiple times for service. Multiple issues, came back as I was willing to blame covid for some. Today had a 7:30 appointment for an oil change, after asking for an update at 8:30 was told my car was just pulled back to get started. Will not be back. When I make an appointment, I dont expect it to take an hour before they actually start work.UPDATE: Changed from one to two stars. Oil change was comped, and was given a card for next one free as well. Would have upped to 3 or 4 if the service guy had taken the initiative to offer that without me having to complain. Still not sure if Ill go back.

This was one of the easiest interactions Ive had with sales. I chose to lease one of their Crosstrek Sports. From start to finish it was quick. I text them through their website online. Immediately I got a response back, when I showed up to my appointment I was met by Joseph who took the sales extremely professional. From start to finish he let me know what was going on with my application. Their finance department is amazing and were upfront with everything that was going on. However, to my (and my wife’s) surprise, it was a pleasure working with Blaine Tessmann, a sales consultant with Don Miller Subaru Madison East. He was not pushy and let us check out a Forester at our own pace. He was helpful in answering our questions and pointing out things that he thought we would like to know. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with. His follow up has been appropriate and timely as well. I would highly recommend buying a car from this dealership and especially from Blaine.
After a terrible car experience, we decided to just test drive a Subaru Outback. We were met by Tim in the rain, were shown 4 great options, and we took a test drive. We found one we loved and made the deal. Tim and Liz were so great to work with. We were well informed of our options bit never pressured. I would go back and meet with them again and again! I purchased a Subaru Forester from Blaine Tessmann. My entire experience was amazing! It is the first Subaru I have purchased and I love it! Blaine was very thorough and accommodating. He described the features with an umbrella in the pouring rain. The finance person was excellent too. My only wish is that they had a place inside when I picked up the car. Because of covid their interior place had been converted into a service waiting area. Other than that my entire experience was wonderful!

What an excellent experience! I was in and out. Not once did I ever feel like I was being sold. Blaine presented the information to me and allowed me to make my choice.I even mentioned under my breath about a operation I was having and Blaine actually called 2 weeks later to see how it went and how I was feeling. Not once calling me to pressure me about a car sale in between.I dont leave reviews for anything but in this case I absolutely had to. This is my first new car and I have never felt more confident and assured of my decision. If you want to buy a car and you dont want to be sold, Blaine and the staff at Subaru should be your first stop.

He also gave me an awesome sales man Don (because he drives the same kind of car I bought) so he was able to help me understand the ins and outs of the car, and it was everything and more then he said it would be. In the financial Dept Rory was the best he explained in detail the perks of the different warranties I could purchase and went through all the paperwork with so I wasn’t unsure aboiut anything. Ive had a pleasure of working with Blaine during my purchase. It was by far my best experience interacting with a car salesman. He was very knowledgeable, explained me all ins and outs, gave me all the time I needed to make a decision, and was a very easy person to talk to and negotiate with. I would 100% recommend Blaine to a friend if they were to buy a Subaru and would definitely tell them to go to East side Don Miller over West side (where I actually live!).
TLDR: Don Miller Subaru gives unmatched customer service in the dealership game and Don Bronson was a terrific and helpful salesperson.After an incredibly frustrating and misleading car buying experience/attempt at Don Miller Subaru West, resolution was found at the east side location. I called and asked if a specific car was available and whether I could drive it off the lot THAT day, and to both of those questions I received a yes. Unlike my experience at west, Mr. Bronson lived up to his word and I drove off the lot Tuesday night. He and Elizabeth, the finance manager, went above and beyond to make this happen, even after dealing with my small-time bank that my previous loan was through who didn’t have an after hours line they found a way. It was a fantastic feeling once they were able to get the information that they needed as it would have been a shame for them to lose out on the sale all for a sub-$100 balance. I was literally ready to buy a car on the road during our weekend trip up north if it didn’t pan out that night. Mr. Bronson was a straight shooter, which is greatly appreciated, as I’m not in the business of getting jerked around. I was there to buy a car and I did. Since it was late by the time we got everything done there was nobody in service available to detail the inside of the car. This is however combatted by the fact that I have been assured that I’ll be able to pop back in when convenient to get this taken care of. Amazing service like this is far too few and it speaks volumes about the business when you find it. I’m looking forward to the continued relationship with this fantastic dealership and highly recommend them to those in the market for a Subaru, or a car in general!
