As per usually, they didnt disappoint. Every time we come here it is a great experience. Staff is friendly, store is clean and organized, and the experience is amazing. I always love the selection. The staff is always ready and willing to help with anything. There is almost anyways a coupon to help with savings too. Other than how far I have to drive to visit, I cant think of a negative thing to say. Absolutely love coming here!

We came here a few months back and was extremely impressed! We were actually on vacation in Chattanooga, TN and decided to drive down and look at some Pokemon shops in the area. Lets just say they were absolutely horrible! A huge waste of time!Now 2nd and Charles was amazing! They had Pokemon cards, movies, books, pictures, everything! We were extremely impressed and bought several hundreds of dollars worth of items! This is one of the only places we would even remotely recommend in the area. If we were to ever come back we would definitely 100% stop in here again!

Might be a good place to buy collectibles, but definitely would not recommend trying to sell anything here. I came in with 50+ video games and 7-8 consoles. When I dropped all of it off, they told me it would take about an hour. Finally, 2 1/2 hours later, they told me they finished. After all that waiting and no communication from them at all, they proceeded to tell me they could only take 15 games (would’ve been less than that, but the cashier kept some for “personal reasons”). They wouldn’t buy an XBox 360, good as new, because it had some dust on the outside and they “don’t have the facilities” to wipe that off. Absolutely ridiculous and frustrating. I went to the car and wiped it off so they would take it, but decided it wasn’t worth the waiting time to get a quote for it. There was maybe 5 customers in the store and there were at least 5-8 workers just standing around staring at the wall. Wasted my day waiting in an area that I’m not from because they said they’d be faster but decided to stand around. Very dissatisfied.

One of my favorite places! They have such a great variety and I always find things I want. They even have a free bin out front where people can put books for others to enjoy. Love the Harry Potter merchandise selection!

I absolutely LOVE second and Charles. They have incredibly cheap books in good condition, and have a great variety for just about anyone. Whether it be teens, children, young adults, adults, music lovers, spiritual people...

I love going to second and Charles ! I got a few new books. A new stone. Some incense. Some new moon earrings that were super cute but one broke the first time I wore it. I also bought the everything bagel version of cards against humanity!

2nd & Charles seems to have something for everyone. I have sold gently Used CDs here a couple of times. The staff has always been friendly and professional. Their buyback offers are way better than online buyers.

Fun place to visit and find some vintage books games and videos. They have a pretty big selection. The prices are a bit high for their second-have items, especially some books that are pretty tattered. It would also be good if they had a way to search their inventory online.

Great store for books. Especially if you like non fiction. Very well priced. Fiction books arent too well organized but you can still find some great things.

Its a lovely 2nd hand bookstore. They have a large variety of books with some being new. The prices are fair with random sales. Their exchange process is slow but thats only bc they have a high standard of going through each book, making sure theres not any missing pages or random book markers. Id recommend stopping by.

The promise of the sheer mass of books and CDs and DVDs is not enough. That mass shows a lot of repetition and a distinct lack of variety. The book section representing the sciences is sad, small and I find that hard to believe when you factor in the volume of scientific publications. The religious section is huge but its so Protestant centered that, again, its just repetitious. The areas representing the mystical side is also lacking. A lot of Tarot and more popular, airy fairy earth magic but not a lot of internationally based reading. Considering the mass of things offered I would think variety would be better represented. The art book section is not worth the time to peruse and it was there that I realized this store is too conscious of a certain vibe. Despite the metropolitan feel of Huntsville, it still caters to a very vocal minority. It needs more options. I have zero respect for any businesses that cater to mass or minority appeal over trying to anticipate tastes that require variety.

Very cool place, especially for geeks and nerds! They have tons of used books in great condition. You can also find video games, comics, collectibles, guitars, and niche stuff like Harry Potter candy. We needed a base for Disney Infinity, and I didnt want to resort to eBay. 2nd & Charles had one for a great price! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend giving them a visit!

Very decent selection of books. Although a little hard to sift through, but you can always ask an employee to look-up a particular book. Prices are decent, less than B&N, but more than youd pay at a regular thrift store.

It is a great place to shop. But, selling to them is an awful process. Went yesterday and watched the employees walk around the store instead of looking through my one box. I waited around for about 45 minutes before asking the staff about what was taking so long. The staff started looking through my stuff and finished it in 5 minutes. When I came to claim my stuff, they offered me $2 and come change for a brand new Harry Potter hardback book with a dust cover. Needless to say, I won’t be back.

I like going here for a used book, especially one I have in mind. The way they have the book sections organized are bit confusing, I just ask where the section I need is located. It is stocked with lots of gift ideas, vinyl records and etc.

Mostly mass market stuff they bought in bulk and were selling at MSRP. Very few used books at reasonable prices. Probably because they barely offer anything at all for used books. Used to be much better a few years ago. Now its just Books-A-Million, but with a smaller selection. Pretty disappointing. Not worth the visit.

They have absolutely everything from, games to book and everything else you you need.

I would love to keep this place a secret so I can have ALL the good deals, but this place is too amazing to keep to myself. They have some new books with a large section of used books that are a great deal!! My favorite part is that they have mystery books with a short summary hand picked by their workers ranging in price from $3 to $9 dollars which is a super cute idea! Right now you can text a number and sign up for emails for 10% off your first purchase which was great when I did a big book haul last night😂 if you have any books you dont want they will even buy them and give you in store credit😍

Good store! Beautiful shelving, terrific layout and colorful book-adjacent merchandise guarantee a very pleasant experience. Plenty of room to wander.The huge number of books available is actually a bit overwhelming, haha. The inventory is so varied. For my interest - cookbooks - it is marvelous to go through such a selection across decades, cuisines and cookbook types.The buybook process has well explained signage and is painless. The staff is friendly and engaged. Theres a free bin and large clearance section. This is everything a big box bookstore could possibly be.

Really disorganized book sections. Its all in Orange and difficult to see the breaks in sections and alphabet. Books massively out of order. Moved from an area with half-price books and this was a letdown. Would not recommend...unless you really really like Funko Pop dolls.

My daughter shops her very frequently. We went last Sunday and my son was wanting the goosebumps books. I picked up 4 at 1.45 each. I love have they have the book buy back for credit.

I took 2 big boxes of books to sell. When I came back they had half a box and $1 or $2 store credit. When I asked the old gray headed lady how many books they bought she couldnt tell me and walked off throwing her hands up like she was stressed out from work. There was 2 people in the whole store. She just needs to find another job and she cant deal with public. I will never go back

So much selection at such an amazing prices! This is honestly my favorite store. I also love the Free Bin out front, you can find some really interesting books in there. They also have a large Rare Book selection for collectors.

I am never going to buy or try to sell anything at that store again! I went there a few weeks ago to sell some Japanese manga to which I called before to see if it was okay to which they said it was. I brought 27 volumes of the books got my receipt and was told that I would find out later that night about my offer for the books. I couldnt go that day so I went the next day and drove all the way from Meridianville to hear the offer and get paid for my books. I expected to be paid between $75-$100 for all those books but instead they offered me only $11 for all of the books, less than 50 cents per book. When I questioned them about it being so low they talked about wanting to save profit for their own store, when I told them why didnt they tell me about the cheap deal over the phone they blatantly said they dont tell until they are in person even though they only asked for my phone number the second time I arrived so I dont understand why they could not tell me this. In the end the not only wasted my gas driving down there, but my time.

Great Store, Great Concept, Great Items. Staff could be a little more friendlier and money offer for items is a little to low but store credit is sometimes decent and overall, this is one of my favorite local stores for the content they have and acquire. Highly recommend.

Not very organized. Its more of a junk store of unwanted books. Decriminalization of the vaccinated vs the unvaccinated. What a shame they are to American people! I would suggest going somewhere else.

I went in and found a couple of DVDs, but they couldnt find the book I was looking for. Thier inventory list two but failed to locate them. Overall I was still satisfied. I will call them before I visit them next time to see if they can find one of the two and have it at the counter when I arrive.

They offer you a three month free Magazine trial only to get charged automatically after your trial is up. And you cant cancel through the Magazine sites. You have to call a different number. Never going to this place again.

Great selection of books but hard to find anything. Most books are slightly cheaper than a regular bookstore. Comic book section is a madhouse they try their best to divide the sections into DC, Marvel, and Indie but still hard to find anything. Great store if you can find what you are looking for.

The book section is too cluttered with Christian self help books and some novelty items are too expensive for what they are but overall the place is very nice and very clean. Fun to walk around and talk.

You cant beat second and charles. Its an amazing place to go for anyone who loves reading, board games, or nerd culture in general. You really can beat the used prices and the atmosphere is great.

Nice store, sometimes a bit overpriced but still looks pretty and has interesting stuff. Staff is hit or miss with my personal experience, maybe I just keep coming in at a bad time.

Some cute things, but they advertise being a second-hand store when most of the merchandise is obviously new, probably close outs and such from failed BAM and other stores, with the same retail prices. Books were not really bargain-priced. Another example: very cheap plastic ukuleles were priced at $45-$80 each. You can go to a music shop and get a brand new Kala Ukedelic that actually sounds pretty good for $25-$60. We were expecting something more along the lines of McKay’s in Tennessee and we were disappointed.

This is a great place to shop. Wide selections for so many different audiences. Had a very unfortunate experience trying to sell to them, though. We brought a Harry Potter book in excellent condition, along with a couple other self improvement books that are highly sought after. They made us wait almost an hour until we went to the counter and asked what was taking so long. They acted like they had been working on it all along, and then it was done in less than 5 minutes 🙄. Also, they tried to give us $2.70 for what we had. So not only did I waste an hour of my time while they didnt do anything, but then got insulted before I walked out the door of this place for the last time.

Neat store. New and second hand: videos, comics, manga, legos, records, cds, musical instruments and books. The store has s great feel and its fun to hunt for a bargain.

Great place to find books of all kinds but they also have a great selection of other quirky and hard to find things like games of all types, POPs, records, guitars, novelty items, etc. Cool store just to look around, never know what youll find; you may go in for a book and come out with a Bob Ross Monopoly board game!

Always a great selection of books and clean

Soem inventory is priced very cheaply, but oter items are off the walls over priced. Worn books and Cds are around 3-6 dollars, but if you want a keychain it is around $10-$15. Other items such as board games and (non-rare) collectible things are 20-30 dollars! Overal most of the good quality items are overpriced and most of the 2nd hand items are very worn. They will buy books from you but not give you squat. I brought in around 16 books or so, they took 13 and gave back 3. The three they gav e back we’re “too worn” but i have seen much worse quality things there! in the end for the 13 books they took i got $4.55. That’s .35¢ per book. I was not happy. Some of the books they took were a guinness world record book, Harry potter;through the British Library, Fish in a tree, Call of the wild and others. Will not sell agin. Overall the store is overpriced, they don’t give you much in return when you sell, but the staff is friendly.

Found what we wanted.

Pretty much my favorite store.They have used books at great quality and even BETTER prices, retro/nerdy memorabilia and collectibles to satisfy most men/women of culture, refurbished electronics and hardware, etc.Do yourself a favor and at least go on a window shopping adventure if youre passing through! You wont regret it!

Nothing seemed to be organized by subject. Uber hard to find ANYTHING. Youve got to know the title of what you are looking for and/or author. I was just looking for books on a particular subject.

Very nice and clean. Finding a specific is hit-or-miss but they have a large selection of new and used books, DVD, music, guitars, etc. They do buy used books but dont offer much money at all.

None of my family was very impressed. Just another big box store trying to pass itself off as a thrift or second-hand store in hopes that people will buy into the illusion of a bargain.

Place is a bit chaotic but I believe that was by design. I was in on a Tuesday. Item prices seemed a bit arbitrary. I picked up some D&D dice to get for my nephew and there were 2 different price labels on the item each with a different price. I put them back, and after browsing for a bit decided I would buy a soda and some candy before I left. There was no employee at the counter to check anyone out and a customer in front of me waiting, too. I just put my drink and candy back and left.

I called looking for a book and study guide and I halfway expected them to not be able to tell me what they had in stock.... boy was I surprised!!! Not only did he (Alex, I think) check the computer but he also offered to go check the shelf and call me back.... AND HE DID! Within a few minutes! Excellent customer service and they just earned my business. The book and study guide were an excellent price, too.

From a selection perspective these folks arent bad. From a book sellback perspective theyre horrible. We bought a series of books for our daughter at about $3 a piece. Held them for about a year and went to sell them back after she had not read them. The buyback price was somewhere around 50 cents a piece. I can understand one third or one half the price but not a discount like this. Took the money and put them behind us but never again will I darken their door.

You can find many different books and DVDs here. Also video games and collectibles. Most books are used but they are most in good shape.

I might have rated it higher, but those 2nd hand videogames are Terrible. Im not going to pay $65 for a used copy of Kingdom Hearts 3, not in its actual box, when a brand new copy of the day one edition is available for purchase at Walmart for $20.

I’m way to in love with movies to ever go in there! In the past two months I’ve probably walked out with 50 movies, not exaggerating. When they did the buy 5 get 5 I got 25, 5 where .50 - $1 and I didn’t want them to be the free ones. Great friendly atmosphere and a lot of cool new or use stuff. Some a little to high for me, but there is enough cheaper things for me to buy. 4 stars just because a lot of there stuff is mixed up, understandable seeing as how many people and new stuff comes in daily. Would still hope for better though.

This is the most amazing bookstore Ive ever been to! They sell new and used books of every kind, from religious to fantasy to childrens. It is an enormous place with many different sections... Imagine Barnes & Noble on steroids. They have an extensive new & used records/vinyls section with a side range of genres represented. They also have an extensive CD section. They sell guitars and comic books, as well as movie posters and fashion specific memorabilia. They sell used videogames for old consoles such as Nintendo DS, DSi, and Wii. I would definitely recommend this place!!
