Piercers here are amazing. Ive gotten my septum, nipples, and industrial bar done here and havent had a problem with any of them. Jordanne has always been very insightful and lets customers know whats best even if it means losing a sale. All my piercings are perfectly placed. Would definitely recommend to anyone even thinking about getting a piercing. Very friendly and informative. I like the jewelry used for the piercings at A Dead Anchor Tattoo so much that I wear them more than any other piece I own. Quality jewelry, great prices, precise piercings, and knowledgeable people. I had an all day tattoo with Brandon. He sketched the tattoo on an tablet before we got started and I was able to see how various color combos would affect the final piece. In the chair, he was very personable and made an all day tattoo seem much shorter. He did great work and Im extremely happy with how my leg piece turned out.

EVERYONE in the shop is so sweet and funny! They really made me feel welcomed and at home. It was my first time getting pierced and the atmosphere had me so calm despite being afraid of needles in the past. They were very thorough and careful. Theres nothing better than a beautiful custom tattoo! I have had several other tattoo experiences but nothing compares to A Dead Anchor. Brandon drew up an incredible piece of art for me. The finished result is better than I could have imagined. Not only was the work great but it was done in a clean, safe environment for a fair price. Jordanne is hands down the best tattoo artist Ive ever worked with. She can somehow get into my brain and see exactly what I want! Her colors are vibrant and fun, as is her personality. Truly Helpful Piercer. I got a piecing at another shop a couple months previous. The piercing started to embed and I finally decided to see someone. I chose this place based on the reviews. Im very thankful I did. Anna discussed all of the options with me and we just swapped out the jewelry. I wish I had come here for the original work and will come back for any other work. The prices are amazing. I could have saved $20 by just starting here. If you need a piercing, dont bother looking anywhere else.

Lady B pierced my nips and it was so much better than I could have expected. She was so knowledgeable and made me feel totally at ease and comfortable and empowered and it was all in a great experience. Piercings look great too!

Ive got a number of tattoos from Brandon, as well as a piercing and have always been happy with the results. Brandon works hard to make sure his people are thrilled with his work, and will work hard for you. Hes whip smart, funny as hell and a really good business man.I have not had work done by Froad, but a friend had a very unique piece done, and it came out fantastic! His portfolio is very nice, and if I were still local, I would not hesitate to have him work on me.Both guys have worked hard to transform the shop into an amazing space. They put a LOT of hard work into it, and it really shows.

I will go to no one else for a tattoo. Brandon is a fantastic artist who will listen to your ideas and troubleshoot with you. He never pushes too far or treats clients like they have no idea what a good tattoo takes. He patiently explains potential problems with any piece and will always tattoo exactly what you tell him you want. He is also a great people person. He can chat with you the entire time hes working which can be a great distraction. He can also read people really well and will switch to an easier part of the piece if you need to recover or take as many breaks as you need. He can also keep drilling as long as you can sit for him. He has great instinct but also keeps improving his talent by continuing to learn from other more experienced artists. He is the perfect artist for your first tattoo, a large piece, something completely different, and anything else anyone could want.

Okay, first, the picture is of the tattoo just after we finished a day sitting. In three weeks we will be adding white and some touch ups so it is not entirely complete, but you wouldnt know that to look at it. Frankly, I can not say enough good things about this group of artists and this business. Obviously this tattoo means so much to me as I have been planning it for a while and she represents so much of my journey through life at this point. Liz Vonborden is stunning. She is competent and an excellent artist. Look at the detail of this tattoo. She kicks ass. Went to get second piercing on lobes. Staff was friendly, knowledge and fun. Service was fast (make sure to call ahead) and Im very happy with the result! Price was reasonable.

Great people, very professional. Brandon spent about a half hour with me on the phone for my first tattoo, explaining the process and details for my simple tattoo. I just recently got a tattoo from this shop and I am very impressed. The artist was phenomenal and my tattoo couldnt have turned out any better. They are very friendly and professional and do amazing work. This is my go to place for tattoos. The people are awesome, and they are more than willing to work with you until you find what it is you actually want. Ive been here so often that I actually consider the people here family. Not only are they my tattoo artists, they are my friends and are just all around good people. A Dead Anchor is a great place to get tattooed! One of my friends referred me here and its my favorite place to get tattooed. The atmosphere is relaxed and everyone is extremely friendly. So I got a pretty big thigh piece done by Lady B and I am beyond thrilled. In total, I spent almost 23 hours in the shop (not all of that time was spent being tattooed of course) so I feel as though I can speak to the general atmosphere fairly accurately. I was somewhat nervous as I only had a small tattoo prior and I was scared that the “real” tattoo people would make fun of me. That couldn’t be farther from my experience. Everyone was very kind and fun. We joked about music, movies, memes (all of the essential m’s). I got a chance to see work done by all of the artists during my time there and great work abounds, but let’s focus on B. She was incredible. Not only is she extremely conscientious about hygiene and ensuring that everything was sterile, but she was also very fun. I think I spent about 18 hours in the chair and if you are going to spend that much time with someone, you need to know that they can hang.Now, as far as the tattoo goes. It. Is. Amazing. I got a Medusa that is unlike anything I have ever seen. Even before she was finished I was wowing people with the detail within the piece. It is pretty rare to find someone that can completely nail a face, but A Dead Anchor has done just that. I can’t recommend her enough.Overall, the place was clean; the staff was professional (but not uptight); and the tattoo I received is incredible. This shop is truly a gem.Because I believe a review should never be 100% positive or negative, my one bit of advice for the shop is that the chairs can be a bit wobbly, but that is such a small thing compared to everything else!

I got my ears pierced here and Lady Bea did the most amazing job. If you want someone professional, who knows their piercing hygiene/whatnot like the back of her hand, Lady Bea is the one to call. Shell take her time, planning the piercing and making sure all the necessary ducks are in a row. Trust me when I tell you that you want someone willing to take her time, because there are few worse recipes for disaster than being pierced by someone impatient.If you are sensitive to somewhat dirty (but good natured) humor, then this might not be the place to go. That being said, I was super grumpy when I went in, which usually lowers my tolerance for anyone enjoying themselves within my earshot, and the risque jokes were only a little annoying. The end product was more than worth dealing with risque jokes. :)

I absolutely LOVE Brandon - I will never go to anyone else. I have a total of four tattoos, and Brandon has been my go-to guy for my past two. He jumped at the chance to work with my idea of white ink, and has always been open to hearing my ideas. I love that Brandon respects the ideas of the customer, and never tries to sway or differ the concept, in fact - his work is far better than Ive ever expected. My sessions have always been a blast, and Brandon is phenomenal at what he does. Im obsessed with his work, and I cannot wait to have more work done.

Really awesome place to get a tattoo done! I worked with Jordanne on a custom piece. She was really easy to work with and always fast with communication throughout the design process. After a couple back and forths there was a final sketch and it was ready to go on; it looked even better when it was put on my skin! She was also very accommodating in scheduling the sessions as well as a touch-up.Everyone in the shop is friendly, and seeing what they were working on as my piece was being done I wouldnt hesitate to go with any of the artists here. My wife has been a patron of A Dead Anchor, long before their current version came to fruition. As a result I knew where Id be going when I finally took the jump to get a second tattoo. My first experience on my 18th birthday (at a vastly different shop) left me feeling uneasy.I took the jump, and I couldnt be happier. The staff is amazing, the artists care about their clients, and the ink stays how it was meant to be. I do not know anything about A Dead Anchors Tattoos, but if you are going in for a piercing, I would find a different shop. My friend and I went in; I got my industrial pierced, and she got her nose pierced. They told my friend they could put in a hoop instead of a stud for her nose, and when they put in the hoop, it looked terrible. It did not fit on her face, and it was huge! We went to a different shop to buy some cleaner, and they pointed out that her nose was pierced on an angle, and that she could never wear a hoop because it would not fit with the angle of the piercing. The other shop replaced her hoop with a stud. My piercing did not have any visible problems, but I am concerned with the quality of the jewelry because I have sensitive skin. Tattoos may be great here, but if you do not want to take risks with piercings, go somewhere else!

Worst tattoo experience Ive had so far. The artist (Brandon) overworked the black areas and have scars now due to the lack of care with my arm. Artist also talked constantly and didnt pay attention to what he was doing. Didnt get my moneys worth along with a poorly executed tattoo.

They are very professional and willing to talk to you and tell you the truth on whether its a good idea or not on different ideas you may have. They take their time with each client and are very friendly and hygienic. Great place to go if youre nervous.

When I decided to get my daughters ear pierced, I didnt want to take her to the mall so I investigated tattoo shops. I decided on A Dead Anchor as a few of my friends spoke highly of them.Jordanne was great. She talked to my daughter through the process, and also explained to her that due to her hair color and complexion (red hair, fair skin) that she might have a reaction to cheap earrings as they tend to be more sensitive. (She was absolutely right) She taught my daughter how to properly clean her piercing to avoid infection and also instructed us not to change them out. She was an absolute joy and so knowledgeable.If someone had an issue with piercing from Jordanne, I can 100% guarantee it was because the person completely ignored her on proper care. I cant imagine why they didnt bother to call the store first before posting a negative review, but that is probably because they chose to ignore instructions and rather than own up to it, they went somewhere else. She is nothing short of professional and was so kind to my daughter. She explained things thoroughly and told us to call her at any time for questions or concerns.

I live over two hours away and never hesitate to drive over when I catch one of her many awesome designs on Facebook/Instagram that are up for grabs. While I just recently had another appointment with her, I can’t wait to go back again!

I originally began going here after I moved to Madison over labor day last year, and I will not be looking for anyone else. This place has it all, from some of the most personable artists and piercers around to one of the cleanest environments Ive ever come across. Hell, they even have WiFi for you since theyre located under the main street.Ive worked the most with Anna and shes been fantastic the whole way through. No one ever pestered me about stopping in to find out how previous piercings I didnt even get there were doing. Im just now beginning to work with Brandon and Froad for a big tattoo idea I want to get.Overall, I cant think of a better place Ive ever gone to when it comes to body modification with. Besides being very poorly located and hard to fine, Came in to get simple writing drawn place in a circle and was advised to and i quote take that idea, go home to this website, generate whatd youd like and come back. I went there believing in Tattoo Artists and left very disappointed. If you arent able to draw words in a circle, I dont believe you are a True artist. Plus points shop was Clean and Professional looking, just wouldnt be able to say the work was good as I went elsewhere for my tattoo the very same day.

I had both my tragi pierced here recently, because of the great rating, and I must add to it. The girl who performed the procedure had 8-9 years of experience, she told me. She gave me a $10 discount since I was having both done. Very friendly, and explained what was happening and what to expect, every step of the way. When it was done, she thoroughly explained aftercare, and told me to feel free to stop back in with any questions or doubts, and that shed help me change the piercings once theyre ready. If I decide to get any more piercings, Id definitely return to Dead Anchor. :)

I went to this tattoo shop for my first tattoo. I had a great first time experience, Brandon talked me through the entire process, he showed me the equipment and explained the parts of the needles to me. I love this shop and would defiantly come back.

Everyone at Dead Anchor was extremely friendly and helpful. It was an enjoyable experience immediately upon walking in the door and I would definitely return.

I have gotten 9 tattoos and counting from Jordanne and each visit I have made to the shop has absolutely made my day. I have always been met with a friendly face and a genuine greeting. Which is, to say the least, the most relieving thing when youre getting work done. Every piece that I have gotten here has been nothing shy of jaw dropping.I work in retail and I have to keep a stack of her cards at my desk because everyone wants to know who did it. I have had strangers approach me and tell me that they havent seen something so detailed and beautiful come out of the Madison area in a long time. Heck, one of my tattoos even got me a free sub from subway one time. If youre in the market for an entertaining experience and a new tattoo or piercing, this is 200% the place to go.

I have had nothing but great service and experience here with the staff. I would recommend Brandon and the staff to all of my friends and family that are wanting either a tattoo or piercing. I will continue to come to the shop to get my work done.

I have had the best piercing experience ever at A Dead Anchor. Jordanne did my first three piercings and all of them turned out great. She was helpful, knowledgeable, and always available if I had questions with my piercings. The entire staff is incredibley welcoming and friendly. Jordanne has even put back in piercings that fell out with no questions asked and no problem to me. 10/10 would reccomend, just as my friend did to me :)

I am from Colorado and came to Brandon while visiting family in Wisconsin to get a tattoo, I couldnt be happier with the results!!! People ask me all the time where I got my work done and I brag about Dead Anchor. Very friendly and clean shop and AWESOME artists!!

I love this place! Everyone here produces amazing/professional work, and its also such a relaxed/welcoming (and clean!) environment--you cant find a better combination.In particular, I cannot say enough about Jordanne--she is the reason I really started (and continued) coming here. Shortly after I moved to Madison, I went to the shop to ask for information about some ear-piercings I was thinking of getting (I had no piercings previously and was nervous about the process), and I was so impressed by how knowledgeable and personable she was, that I came back in that night to get those piercings. Then before I knew it, I was coming in to get a tattoo from her as well...at the time of writing this, I have gotten 8 piercings and 6 tattoos from Jordanne, and I know I will get more. Any time I have had a question about aftercare, jewelry, etc., her advice has always been spot-on, and her work has always been high-quality. She even made getting nipple piercings into a comfortable experience (I bet thats a sentence you dont hear often!) So please, do let Jordanne stab you, you wont regret it!Ive also gotten beautiful tattoos from Lady Bea, and I think I will get some from Liz in the near future. The shop cant get rid of me at this point--even if I move away from Madison, I know I would be making trips back here for more. Jordanne, Bea, Liz, Brandon, Froad--I love these people, love their work, and am more than happy to recommend them.

I have gotten numerous tattoos done by Brandon he is one of the only left hand tattoo artist I have been to and has one of the lightest hands Ive ever had tattooed by also I would highly recommend him and his tattoo shop he also has probably one of the most sanitary shops around

Made an appointment for a piercing and after I arrived I was told to sit down. The piercer starting giving someone a tattoo even though I made an appointment. No one came to check me in, or fill out paperwork after 15 minutes. I left without getting anything done .
