Always a fun stop when in Madison. Good beer selection on draft and to go.
Beer variety is good. Given the big selection, per-pint it a little more then you would pay at a regular bar. Staff are friendly and give good guidance if youd like a recommendation. The option to get 4,8,16,32 oz for most beers on tap is nice. I like to get a few 8 oz beers rather than a a couple 16 oz.
The variety of beer is always impressive. The staff members are always friendly and knowledgeable. They did a great job of safely serving us through the pandemic. Now I look forward to getting back to meeting the friendly people that frequent BarleyPop.

Loved being able to get a draft and beer for home. Able to drink there the take home too with a corking fee. Only downside, small drafts have no identifier making flights confusing.
We had a great time at Barley Pop and I cannot wait to go again. I went with friends after we meet up at the dog park. Its so nice to go to a place where dogs are welcomed inside! I was impressed by the selection of beer and my dog loved being inside and getting treats from the bartender. Its a great place to hang out and I will definitely be back!

4.5? Mostly I like this place ... its got a great combo of taps, prices and 5-oz options. Its bigger (louder esp if crowded, maybe shinier) than I prefer. The Beer Bottle wall makes it seem more like a store than a watering hole, tho Ive always enjoyed going there.

Barleypop is an amazing addition to the Atwood area! They always have an insane amount of beer on tap and in the coolers. You can choose to drink tap or pay a cork fee when grabbing beer from the cooler. Great service, dog friendly and just an awesome atmosphere!

Theyre tap selection is bananas. They have so much beer. And theyre all very good. The only reason I give 4 stars is because the bar is sterile and so white like a hospital. But the staff are awesome. Will come here again.

Was in Madison for a long weekend and had to check this place out. Insane selection of beer I cant get in Colorado. Both times we went in the guys working were knowledgeable about what they were pouring and very cool. I wish our liquor laws would allow this kind of operation. Also I slid down the handrail at the church up the street and damn near broke my arm. Too many double IPAs. Cheers.

The concept of a tap room is great and well executed, as are their beer selections and themed beer events. Ive always had great interactions with the owners and most bartenders. Unfortunately, after many happy visits my experience here has been ruined by a rude bartender making me feel unwelcome and giving preferential treatment to what seemed to be his friends having a private birthday party, as I tried to place an order amid the chaos after waiting my turn in line. This happened to be on a day of a special sour beer event that my husband and I were very much looking forward to - a curious time to reserve most of the space for a private party. Very disappointed.
Good prices, solid selection but its lacking for some things. The produce can be hit or miss depending on how recently it was delivered. Awesome new age, modern bar with an INSANE amount of alcoholic beverages - the entire wall is COVERED in bottles! Not to mention, they have a ton of beers on tap that they rotate out frequently. People come here to play board games and card games a lot, and the vibes are just really cool.

Bartenders make this place feel like home. The selection of beer is excellent (especially their stouts and local breweries) and the chill vibe fits right in with the Atwood neighborhood. I always look forward to coming here after a long week!

Cool new hip spot in Atwood. Their tap beer list is killer, plus they have scores of bottled beers to take home or enjoy there. If you get a draft beer, order the half size. They pour their pints short but their tasters long.

Thats not what happens, this can be pretty busy, so try to go early!Absolutely amazing concept I hadnt seen in the states -- Very popular setup in Australia -- So Im glad it was brought here! Its not just a good place to buy beer + growlers for off-sale, its a nice, modern, cozy bar to drink also. Its pretty well-lit inside, sporting a single pinball machine and impressive bottle/merch displays. With a fairly edgy selection of 30 beers on tap, and needless to say, an endless bottle selection, youll be in beer heaven.

An outstanding selection of taps at this atwood gem. Fairly small, but I was here on a Sunday afternoon and had a fine time sitting at the bar. The bartender knew his beers!
Great little bar with a lot of fun beer choices. The tap selections change regularly, so you will never get bored. They also have a full wall and cooler of other beer that you can buy/take out of the store. Bartenders have all been super friendly. They do not serve food here, but they do allow you to bring food into the bar to eat. I believe there is also a food truck that parks out front on the weekends, but I have not personally seen it.. Another plus with them not serving food is that they are completely dog friendly, and welcome dogs into the bar.The only downside is that the bar is very small, and all the seating tends to fill up fast.

I went here for trivia on a Tuesday and it was really fun. There is a huge selection of beers. They allow dogs, and that made it even more awesome.

Yes, great selection of beers. Atmosphere is clean and sparse, but also a bit sterile. Other than the sign with beers available, not much to look at or listen too music-wise, so bring a friend or four, or cards or something to do while you enjoy the good drinks, or if alone bring your phone to read about their beer because no information is found in the bar. Staff not too helpful in explaining different classes of the specialty beers such as coffee, sours, fruits (vs. a standard pils, stout, or a wheat which many already know) and can remain somewhat reserved and removed with customers until their glass is empty and need another pour. My three different nights there, a group of regulars receive the attention and smiles, but no hello, no welcome, no questions are you familiar with our system? came my way. I had to ask to find out beer can be purchased to take home, or what x or y beer is like and why (although I was given a taste of any random beer I asked about). Explanation, promotion and friendliness could double their sales. Perhaps just growing pains at this point.....
I never have a hard time finding a great beer at BarleyPop and now anytime my friends want to get a beer I suggest this place. It has been an instant hit everytime. The beer selection is great with some of the best known and rated beer, they also sprinkle in some harder to find amazing brews as well. The atmosphere is laid back and open, very west coast feeling. If you love craft beer and havent been to Barleypop, you are missing out!

Large craft beer selection, both on tap and in bottles and cans. You would hard pressed to not find at least one beer you liked. Assuming you like beer to begin with. No food for sale, but you can bring your own in or get delivery and eat there.
Not your normal bar. Barley Pop gives you an amazing selection of beer to take home or to a party. But the modern bar itself provides customers with so many selections I felt giddy. And they encourage you to sample. Mosaics! Sours! IPAs! ESBs! And you can also select your size of drink so no complaining about small (or large) portion sizes. Its amazing. And the environment is laid back and super friendly. Cant wait to return.
