I cant speak any more highly of Car Care clinic. I work nearby and drop my car off before they open at 7. No appointments, even when I needed my brakes done last year. On the early bird, night owl envelope, you give your info, drop your key in and then drop the envelope in the box. I get a text message later in the day saying my car is ready. When I had my brakes done, because of the work & cost, they called to verify that the brakes needed work & told me an estimate of the cost. The lobby is cozy for those who stay while their car is worked on & they always have candy and beverages, as well as free logo items. The staff is friendly, reasonable prices and they wont do work that isnt necessary. The picture shows the what they leave in your car.

Car care clinic is the greatest. Have taken my truck there since I discovered them 10 years ago. Great people behind the counter, great mechanics and great, thoughtful service. AND they have free Tootsie roll pops, could it get any better!?

This is one of the best car repair shops I’ve been to! As a relatively new car owner, I did not know what my car needed. Everything was fully explained to me prior to dropping off my car and after coming to pick it up! Prices are decent and an added perk is that they also help with fluid top offs and tire checks! They really had great customer service as well. Would highly recommend for a new car owner or long time car owner.

They dont do appointments, just work on cars in a first come, first serve basis. That works for me because I tend to put off maintenance until I have a day off, then forget to schedule anything. If you prefer to schedule, this system might not work for you.Anyway they were able to take care of my car within an hour. I just waited in the lobby, which has comfortable couches, multiple phone plugs, and drinks for customers. All in all, a great experience.

This place is exceptional. Every person was thoughtful and professional. I was given clear communication on all pricing, friendly service when I had (excessive) questions, updates on my service and when I could expect it to be finished and an excellent end product. My car sounds great now and it was kind of clunky and grinding before. The interior of this clinic is also exceptional and thoughtful. They have a handicap accessible and clean bathroom, cool blue led lighting throughout, festive decorating and a vibe that shows they wanted to maintain the feel of a car shop and have it be inviting for guests. The sofas are excellent and comfortable, the fridge is stocked with a variety of soda and coffee options and the music is soft and fitting.I also want to point out that I appreciated that the employees have amenities. The counter is well placed and made well, there is a back area for the receptionist to maintain their privacy as well as make the customers comfortable and the employees are allowed to play music in the garage. There are some appliances in the back for the employees to make food and there is ample seating behind the counter to allow the employees to sit and rest in between jobs. As a manager in my professional life, seeing things thoughtfully laid out for employees is important to me because I want my money to go towards employers who have a vested interest in their employees and their well being.Thank you for your service on my car and for taking care to think of all the details in your business. I will definitely be returning in the future and recommending your business to my friends in Madison.

Terry and the crew at Car Care Clinic couldnt have been more understanding and generous. I towed in a really old Dodge van with lots of problems in an attempt to repair it enough to go on a few more trips with. Terry did his best by evaluating the rusty pile of metal until he couldnt do any more for it. Even after replacing the vans computer ($540 value) they didnt charge me a cent because it still couldnt drive. Truly professional and fair, Ill take any (newer) future vehicles here for repairs from now on.

I used to just go for the cheapest oil change in town, but Car Care Clinic is 100% the best place to go. The people are so nice, the oil changes are so fast, and they are so considerate about your car. I have an older car and occasionally theyll see that my wipers are streaking or my muffler is rusting or something and theyll always call me to let me know. They never force the service on me either and are understanding if its not something I could do at that moment. Thank you Terry and crew!!

We found this auto mechanic from the google ratings and thought they would be a good choice. Looking back at the reviews I realize many of them are one time clients and so that explains how they can get a handful of decent reviews. I digress...My experience: Called in to see if they could do our vehicle, they said yes that what I wanted done could be done now with a 45 minute appointment. When I drove there directly (10 minutes), they were both rude and unprofessional saying they could no longer work on my vehicle within the hour or even fit it in that day. Please keep in mind this is at 11:00AM, so I was not waiting until the last minute in the day and called to make sure they were not busy that day JUST 10 minutes prior.This kind of inconsideration to a client shows the are disingenuous and unable to take them at their word. I suggest looking elsewhere as I will be - untrustworthy mechanics are simply not worth it. Glad I found this out before I let them under the hood - if I can’t trust the appointment times and they are unwilling to work with me to remedy it, there is no way I’m trusting their recommendations on my vehicle.

After getting a massive quote price at Goodyear, I decided to look for a different place to look at my car and hopefully give me a better price/more answers. I ended up bringing my car here and loving it! The staff were very nice and flexible to fit me in, and the service was very quick. They were able to locate the issue and charged me about $100 less than Goodyear was quoting me, and offered me an oil change for a super reasonable price. All around a great experience!

There are not enough words to express how thankful I am for this place of business and these people. We were on a one day trip taking a dog to UW-Madison. As we left the university to get some lunch the brakes on our F350 diesel broke. We stopped at a little shop near where it happen and were turned away, with little brakes, and told he couldn’t get us in that day. We got the mile or so to Car Care Clinic. To start, they welcomed my husband, myself and our little dog into their waiting area. They pulled our truck around to the back parking lot and jacked it up to see what happen. Shattered caliper. They had an estimate ready in less than 30 minutes and said the work would be done in 2 to 3 hrs. They hosted the three of us in their waiting area all that time. They provided water for our dog and treats. They pointed out restaurants in the areas and even offered for us to bring our food there to eat it. They provided laughs and wonderful conversation. I’ve been in customer service for over 20 years and this is a rare gem of a group to find. We were made to feel at home and welcome. We never felt like a bother or an inconvenience. They worked us into their day with a smile. They got us fixed and on the road in less than three hours all while doing the work in a parking lot. Keep being you and doing what you do. You went above and beyond to turn a terrifying day into an excellent experience. You have a loyal and satisfied customer 170 miles away in Iowa.

Great service. Very nice and knowledgeable people. They even gave me a quote on new tires. They noticed my rear passenger side tire needing to be replaced and gave me 2 quotes on 2 different brands of tires. They were able to plug the big hole that was in my tire in a timely manner. Im glad they were still open when I pulled in, otherwise I wouldve been out of luck. I will revisit soon to get tires.

Wonderful customer service from the front desk to the technicians. They make you feel at ease and at home. It is like you have a friend that knows how to fix cars, theyre out in the garage, and youre making yourself a cup of coffee with their Keurig, and sitting on their couch with a people magazine. If I could give Care Care Clinic six stars, I would! First of all, they do great work at a reasonable cost. I have had my car in here at least half a dozen times for various issues. Each time they have found the problem quickly, let me know exactly how much it would cost to fix, and then done the job competently.Second, they are honest. They dont pad their invoices. Several times, I have left with my problem solved and a bill of less than $100. Once it was only $35! Ive literally never had that happen at any other mechanic Ive taken my car to. When the problem is not urgent, they tell me so.Third, they are always friendly and courteous. It is always a pleasure to give them my business. I highly recommend this shop!

This garage used to be fantastic, but they have really gone downhill since the new ownership.We had the rear brakes (rotors and pads) done on 1 of our cars last summer, and they told us that the calipers needed replacement at a very high price. Which we found out afterwards was completely unnecessary and overpriced compared to other garages. We decided to give them another chance recently, and that was a mistake. They tried to tell us we needed parts we didnt need, once again at a very high cost compared to other garages. In the end, they never even fixed the problem but were willing to charge us a lot of money to replace a part that wasnt even the issue in the first place. Dont take your car here they will always overcharge you

I needed my rusted license plate screws removed. They removed the screws within 30 minutes and charged me under $50. Nice people and good service.

It was really convenient for me to drop my car here then walk to work while they looked at it.However, they completely lied to me last time I went to get my car fixed here. The battery light turned on on the dash so I took it in. They told me it would be nearly 4 grand to fix (more than the price of the car). Tried to tell me the alternator was bad (which was true), but then added several other extremely costly repairs that they said were very necessary.Obviously I went to get a second opinion and none of the extra repairs my car needed even existed. It was a $500 fix for the alternator; still somewhat costly, but actually reasonable considering the repair. Be very careful going here, they will try to get as much of your money as they can.Never going here again. Do not recommend.

This was the first time Ive used a different mechanic than my normal one because I was out of town when my car broke down. The people there were so friendly and helped me understand everything that was going on. They also dont hide any charges on you. They put everything in all at once and tell you the final price without you having to worry about hidden fees. And they will explain the pricing if you just ask. The reason for four stars instead of five is because my hometown mechanic is cheaper but other than that I highly recommend this place.

Friendly, Honest! The cleanliness and order you see in and outside this business is reflected in the detailed attention your car gets. They take care of both your car and your morale. Brought my Corolla in once because of a sound in the wheel well only to find out Id driven about 60 miles with a flat! We all laughed at this, but instead of demeaning me as they easily could have, they offered some logical, physical reasons why I might not have noticed the severity of the problem (rear tires are just holding up the back end, power and weight is on the front). And of course replaced the tire while I grabbed lunch down the block. Yesterday I was rear-ended at a stoplight on the way to work. Pulled in to Car Care Clinic and got an immediate in-garage inspection and reassurance that the damage appeared cosmetic, then got good advice on what would and would not be worth fixing. And well wishes, but no bill! My last oil change included advice I could provide the other mechanic who services my car on how to avoid bending a metal piece under the oil cap - a danger to the engine which they took the time to straighten out for me. They read manufacturer bulletins and updates and inform customers. I often arrive frazzled and always leave smarter and happier.

I am extremely pleased with the service and customer support offered by Car Care Clinic. Being a Machinist of over 30 years, Im quite apprehensive/ distrustful of auto repair garages. I have witnessed, and been victim to too many of them and of the underhanded tactics. . Previously, we had been (repeatedly) gouged by a seemingly reputable repair shop in Deforest, and another near Poynette. Their astronomical fees represent poor business models, and so we wont be taking our business to either of them any more. So, I will be honest; I was very skeptical when my wife decided to have her car repaired at Car Care Clinic. But, my skepticism quickly disappeared. Car Care Clinic has fixed my wifes aging Honda Civic twice now (once for a failing clutch master cylinder, another for broken CV axle), and both times, I have been thoroughly impressed with their honesty, speedy workmanship, and customer service. Thank you Car Care Clinic for being an honest and professional business model!!!

I took my car in because the heat wasnt working and there was smoke coming from under the hood. About an hour later, they had everything completely fixed and working perfectly. It didnt cost much either! They were super friendly and nice about explaining to me what was wrong with the car. I will definitely be going back there and would recommend this place to other people too!

I took my car there for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised! Ive always been apprehensive about taking my car anywhere - This is one of the few places I felt like I wasnt talked down to or made to feel like I had no idea what I was going on when I asked questions. They were so polite and even left a neat reusable bag in my car! Sweet! My mom had recommended them so I gave them a try and definitely will be back. Also, bonus points that they are located super close to the UW, so I was able to drop my car off, walk to work, and walk back and pick it up after.

Staff were very friendly & (most importantly for me) transparent about services & repairs offered. One mechanic on duty sat down with me to explain in detail recommended maintenance, including to let me know what could be done quickly, what was highest priority, etc. Never felt pressured or rushed. Comfortable seating area, and in walking distance of a coffeeshop (Caribou/Einstein’s).

I had a very good experience with them diagnosing and fixing a problem with my engine. The mechanic, John, called to discuss the problem with me and patiently answered all of my questions about the repair for a good 15 minutes before he went ahead with it. It was also unique for a repair shop to offer to text you with updates about your repair. I will definitely come back the next time I have car trouble.

Though they once mis installed a gasket I still go back. They made it right. 100$ got me a euro synthetic oil change a tail light and a brake light. Fair price for fast service, in and out in 30 minutes at 5pm on a Wednesday.

They are great. They are quirky in personality but very mindful of saving people money. They provide free loaner cars. They dont complain if you return the loaner with a little less gas. They almost refuse to do things on the maintenance schedule that they see as unnecessary. They are very focused on the concept that a $500 or $1000 repair bill is hard for some people to handle and find ways to spread out the work or do only whats most urgent.Every time I go there I save money, and it really adds up over time.

My experience was mostly OK, except I found the charges to be on the higher side. They are closed on Saturday and Sunday so good luck if you need to get something done on your car without skipping a work day. Funny thing is I was charged $10 as labour fee to change a light bulb that was measily $1.19! I dont know if Id call that a rip-off, but seemed pretty high to me.

TL;DR - Shop didnt upsell any work I didnt need, work was done within a reasonable time frame, friendly staff.Longer version:Just moved to the area. In another life I spent several years as a service writer for my familys auto shop. Prior to moving to the area (and the subsequent drive from there to here) I knew exactly what work had been done on my car and what it might need. I also had a pretty good idea for the time frame to expect the work to be done in, and had a good estimation of the price in my head once they told me what needed work. Since I always plan to leave it with the shop for at least an overnight stay when its more than an oil change or brakes, the time frame that they needed wasnt an issue at all.They did not recommend excess work (i.e. -- a fluid flush or plugs when I did not need it), the work they recommended was reasonable for what I had done with the car between shop visits, and they called both to get my permission before the work was done and to update me on one complication that arose before asking permission again.Their service writer was friendly as all get-out, and the tech/mechanic I talked to on the phone was also very polite.It was exactly what I expected given my previous background working in a family-owned auto shop in a different state, and Ill keep taking my car back there for its maintenance/work until theres a solid reason to stop.Even the complaints I read in the other reviews are exactly the same type of complaints Id field at my familys shop (grumbles over charging for diagnostic labor, owners personal parts issues), with the same responses we gave. Pretty much sealed the deal for me, personally speaking.Give these guys a chance, and hopefully youll be as happy with their work as I am.

The Car Care Clinic in Madison absolutely saved me. I cannot say enough about how helpful the staff there was. Even though I got in too late on a Friday for them to take a look at my car, they were able to give me a loaner car so I could get back home for an interview that weekend. They were also kind enough to show me what the problem was and how to fix it, even though at the end of the day they didnt charge me much for their services. For a Chicagoan stranded in Madison, I could not be happier that the tow truck took me to Car Care Clinic. Thank you again for your help! (And candy :) )

Have had several large repairs done here and they have always fixed everything in a timely fashion, have never gone over estimate, and have not tried to sell me anything I didnt actually need. Very convenient to UW campus/UW hospital to drop off my car in the AM for maintenance and pick it up in the afternoon.

Ive been to Car Care Clinic four or five times, and the past few experiences were unpleasant. I understand giving a company the benefit of the doubt, but not three times.I brought my vehicle in to Car Care Clinic a few weeks ago to get the rear strut mount reinstalled. I spent ten minutes at the desk trying explain that I wanted them to disassemble and reassemble the piece. Once this was clarified, I left my car with them. Car Care Clinic called me a few hours later saying that they had figured out the problem and I would have to come in another day to fix it. When I came in, they wanted to charge me a $32 diagnostic fee. I didnt want a diagnosis, I was clear about the repair I wanted done. At this point Car Care Clinic quoted me at $171 for the repair (although the math on the paper added up to $164). I had the repair done at another local shop for $68.I also came in to Care Care Clinic a few weeks ago with a concern about my suspension. I spoke with the tech and clearly stated that I did not believe brake rotors to be the cause, and that I wanted the suspension looked at. $32 later the tech told me that it was my brake rotors. When I asked if I could look at the suspension while the car was in the air (which any decent shop will allow), Jeff (the owner) told me I couldnt, because, as he put it, how would you feel if I were standing over your shoulder while you work?. All I wanted was to see the parts of the suspension the tech had looked at! I replaced the pads and rotors on good faith this past weekend, and lo and behold, the car still shakes! When I called to ask if I could be refunded for a misdiagnosis, Jeff recommended I find another mechanic.While Im sure Car Care Clinic is fine for oil changes and tire rotations, they are more than happy to charge unnecessary diagnostic fees and their pricing for labor is not competitive. The staff is friendly and for the most part knowledgable. Car Care Clinic is also conveniently located off of University Avenue. That being said, if you need something diagnosed, I would recommend seeking out another mechanic.

I recently stopped in for the usual $30 oil change. The check engine light had been on in my car, but a previous mechanic had diagnosed that it was likely a faulty catalytic converter sensor. I asked the folks at Car Care Clinic if they could do a quick check to see if the code was consistent or if there was a different issue. Im not sure of the norms on this, but every mechanic Ive worked with in the past has run these codes for me free of charge. At Car Care Clinic, it costs $60, but nobody told me this upfront. Had I known it was going to cost this much, I would have passed on that service and taken the car to a parts shop where theyll check codes for free. The best part about this is that the code that came back was indeed the catalytic converter, so I had to pay $60 for something I already knew about my car, and the $30 oil change suddenly became a $90 oil change.They seem like a fine place with quality mechanics and friendly staff, but make sure you get a full estimate for your service from them before dropping off your car. You could get slapped with some hidden fees.

Update: After I posted this review, I was contacted by mechanic to set things right. I greatly appreciate this and I think the issue has been resolved. For being honest and getting back to me to resolve the issue, I update my review to a 4-star.3-star review---I took my car in to have a possible oil leak checked out. I like the quick turn around time and its nice not to have to setup an appointment days in advance. The problem was diagnosed with a nominal fee which is also good. However, what I did not appreciate is the the manner in which the mechanic ( I think his name was Jeff) spoke to me in trying to help understand the problem. He was very intimidating and constantly kept talking me down.Not a cool thing to do especially when Im paying you a good amount. Had he talked to me a bit more nicely I would definitely have left my car for further repairs and may have recommended it to others however his rude attitude did not make me feel comfortable in working with them anymore.

They work on all of my vehicles and I would go no where else! My past mechanic retired and these people have picked up right where he left off!!! Price could always be a little less but I trust them!!

My wife took it upon herself to take care of our autos regular maintenance. To my surprise her choice in auto shops not only took care of business, but also did it for a fair price and treated my wife like an adult. Sandy has a great sense of humor. As she said once women need an auto shop too. Something even I cant get from other auto shops. But the thing that impressed me most was my own experience. I own a certified POS ford ranger that would occasionally decide not to start. Its been a years-long affair, treated to multiple repair shops at the tune of thousands of dollars with no results. I was ready to take the ranger to a farm up north, take it out back and shoot it. But I gave one last chance to CCC. My mechanic, Terry Scholl, figured it out and fixed it for around $100. My sanity was saved.

I used to routinely come here for oil changes and all of my maintenance. In the last few months when I was going they never once mentioned anything being wrong with my breaks, despite that being something they check during an oil change.Cut to me having to spend $1200 to replace all of my breaks because they were all shot and some were even leaking break fluid.Despite this massive oversight, the other service I received was fairly decent.

My car gets everything it needs here. Exceptional service.
