Decent collection of interesting things, but the couple at the checkout counter was so rude that we almost left without our purchases. We apparently interrupted them eating lunch (at 11:30 am), and they grumbled repeatedly about how they are always eating cold burgers for lunch because of customers. It wasn’t said as a joke, they were seriously put out by having to ring up our things and take our money. The man actually told the customer waiting behind us that he’d have to wait “can I at least eat my burger while it’s warm?” Surly, rude, and lack of customer sensibility. Only reason for this review is in hopes the owners see this and get nicer folks to manage the register.
I have known about this store for a good amount of my life, been there with parents before because I knew they only let people 18 and up in the store alone as I found out previously. When I turned 18 I was excited to know I would be able to go in by myself and actually shop. I walked in and first thing they said was “you have to be 18 to shop here” as I expected as I am pretty short. So I pulled out my government issued ID showing I was 18 and the only person at the counter replied, “we still don’t allow teenagers in here” so is walked out and will not again. Knew owners were a little bitter as I had experienced as a younger teen when in with my parents, but still no respect after 3 years of first stepping in. Don’t go here
One of the finest antique stores Ive visited in some time. I stumbled upon two rare items last Friday at a real bargain. Definitely will return!
Full of antiques. Many vendors. Nice staff. An institution in the community.
A great place to shop through things other people no longer want, lots of items for everyone.
I love this place... I might even go so far as to say its my happy place. There are almost always fun things to be found, the staff is nice, and the dealers that Ive met are great too! I was there three days ago and Ill probably go back today!
Weve loved going to this place for over 10 years. Weve found some great stuff here.
Big shop lots to look at if youre in the area I highly recommend stopping in and taking a walk through you can easily spend an hour and a half or two hours going through this
Ive checked out this mall for decades. Plenty of variety and actual antiques are plentiful along with nice collectibles. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable and professional. While prices vary, there are plenty of booths with competitive prices and bargains if you look for them. Huge parking lot
Great variety of items, very clean and decent prices. Only went once but will be back!
Wide variety of stuff at reasonable prices. Got great cast iron pan there.
Always find loads of amazing things there!! Loved the place! Geat staff! Hahahaha!
Always find something I need here.
Super dope antique store. Incredibly large selection of items, could dedicate 3-4 hours of looking through there
Fun around every corner
This place is pretty big but weve noticed that some parts of it are getting smaller. The back part where all the big stuff and furniture used to be is half empty and doesnt have much in it. Its always fun to walk the isles and see whats been added.
A fun place to go too.
Lots of great things to buy
It never ceases to amaze me what special treasures we always find here. Their prices are reasonable and some of the booths have specials as well.
So many treasures to be found! Prices are very reasonable and staff is extremely helpful
Great place to find unique items! From antiques to vintage and beyond, you should definitely find a treasure that needs a home! Highly recommend to stop by to find that special gift for yourself or someone on your shopping list!
The Antique Mall of Madison (4748 Cottage Grove Rd, Madison, WI 53716) is a very nice antique mall. The mall is very clean and the staff very customer friendly. Large selection on one floor. To see the whole thing takes about 1-1.5 hours easily and worth it. Has something for everyone.Has clean and well maintained bathrooms. The only flaw I found was that the temperature is kept too high. I went there on two of the hot days in June/July 2018 and the temp was at 82 degrees. Even the employees were complaining...that tells you something...they even said they could not change the temperature per the owner. Cool it down and customer will stay longer. I left quickly due to the temp and went to another antique shop with better temp. Also the sign on the outside of the building is terrible and probably has never been maintained...can barely read it...paint it, replace it, or do something to attract customers.Investing in the sign and A/C will be worth it to get more customers as this is a nice place to visit.
Nice varietyExcellent staff help
Clean .large, friendly staff, good inventory, reasonable prices
Excellent, allot of gifts for boys, card trucks and everything in between
Great place! Lots of fun to walk around.
Its the best mother daughter date out there. We had so much fun shopping there today and the staff are so accommodating and pleasant.
Need to take a trip down memory lane? Feel the need to dig for treasure? This is your spot. It took us two days to explore this large space. So many different vendors, so many things! Tidy, brightly lit and the staff was polite and knowledgeable.
HUGE selection of mostly smaller things. Does have some furniture and a good selection of clothes too. Prices are very reasonable. The place is enormous and the offerings are interesting, so expect to spend over an hour there if you really want to take a look at the entire store.
Arrived a half hour before the stated closing time to purchase a specific item I had seen during a previous visit. Someone inside flipped the sign to Closed as I was walking up to the door then returned to a group at the counter and all began laughing. Be better Antiques Mall, you failed today.
I love Antiques Mall of Madison because they are reasonably priced & have bought photos of people from the 1800s, vintage lace, + other items that are from the Victorian Era of which I created 2 shadow boxes to adorn my home as it designed from this time frame including Civil War posters, have bought original photos of Generals from the Civil War & received original 1800s foot stool as a gift. I enjoy browsing around the aisles taking my time looking at the vendor boothes as staff are knowledgable of the history also with their merchandise! Staff are also friendly to chat with!
Some interesting merchandise, lots of goodwill items
Lots if old stuff here, nice people, helpful
Huge selection. Lots of really good stuff for reasonable prices. Nice furniture found towards the back of the store. Best part was super helpful and very nice staff.
Awesome place, lots of cool stuff. Prices obviously vary from sellers. I buy a lot of records from a guy thats kinda in the middle of the store behind the cashier. Has a huge selection and really good prices. In the back left is another seller whos out of his mind charging like 20 bucks for albums you can find anywhere for 1/4 of the price.
Good turn over on their merchandise, fair prices, one section is more junk than the rest of the store...definitely worth a trip.
Great variety of things with actual very old things not just from the 50s to present. Also has visa card acceptance since I forgot my cash and I dont carry checks. Only reason its not 5 stars is theres ceiling water drips in various locations and it hadnt rained that day. Possible water damage and/or dampness isnt a good selling point for antiques.
Interesting place to browse
I never knew this place existed in Madison until I saw it online. I collect bobbleheads and there is a very good selection of them at reasonable prices. There are many other collectibles and antiques to choose from. Beer signs, glassware, pictures, furniture, and toys. Staff was friendly and pleasant. You can drive right by this place if you dont pay attention. It is worth checking out if you like to look for collectibles or antiques.
Easy to find. Many solid vendors. Good range and selection of merchandise. Fair pricing and antiques are in generally good condition.
It is a great place to shop. Always find great deals. Good bargains. Helpful and friendly staff.
I do have to agree some with what others have said in that the selection here is HUGE. it is a very big store and the staff is pretty friendly.Only reason why i dont give it 5-stars is due to their website....they have sample items, showing 6 or 7 pages of items sellers have; sounds great, except half of those pictures say sold. I emailed the owners last fall and they said they update often, but not from what the wife and i have seen. Either they need help with updating, or need to realize often means more than twice a year.Ive thought about becoming a seller....not sure how i feel about only some people getting advertised.
Lots of nice stuff, could have spent all day there!
Staff was friendly. Fun place to go treasure hunting as the vendors range from grandmas selling old estate to a few ebay type pros.I was surprised to see so much 3rd Reich and German WWII items, hats, iron crosses and even a picture of Hitler. Other than that lots of snoopy lunch pails and other more light hearted stuff.
Customer service is absolutely horrible here...We asked them to contact a dealer with our offer and without hesitation they said dealer wouldnt take that offer and I over heard them talking saying just tell them you contacted the dealer and say only 10% off of the price is all theyll accept. Also contacted them on another day to have them set aside a item Id like to pick up and was pretty much hung up on and told to call back when they are less busy. $200 sale lost for them cause I will NOT do business there anymore
That place is awesome. If you go make sure that you have plenty of time mander around
Cool stuff, very wide selection. Too expensive for me to get anything but someone else might find something they like.
Great selection of rare antiques. Mostly small items with some furniture. Prices are full retail, these sellers mostly know the value of their items. Some bargains to be had when sales are running. Added an extra star for Joe probably not a farmers poor review.
Affordable antique store where you can find a gem now and then.
This small antiques store seems to be bigger on the inside than the outside shows, and is filled with a wide variety of older nicknacks & items. We were very pleased with the selection, and found a few things that we had been looking for.As with most antique mall style stores, Items are priced by the individual vendors, but most of the prices seemed to be fair for the item in question. The staff could be seen as a bit short on patience, however we did visit during the busy Christmas season, so that is at least somewhat understandable.
It was hot, and they had no AC running, which affected how we felt about the things we were looking at. Ceiling fans helped, but did not keep us cool ... everything was neat and orderly, flow was good through the store, and there was a good selection of most types of merchandise. Some of the vendors were kind of pricey, but others were very reasonable.
A couple days ago I stopped in and found a Wallace Nutting print that was absolutely beautiful and a Hummel that Id never seen before. I always try to think about things for 24 hours without buying though, so I left. I just called them and a woman named Wanda cheerfully walked around the store, with me on the phone, in order to find out if those items were still there. Im not known for giving very good directions but she had the patience of Job as I directed her which Eiles to go down and which cases to look in. Super helpful. Super friendly. A couple years back I found the best deal of my life at this antique mall. A stunning gorgeous fireplace mantle for $200. Its the crown jewel of my home. Haters gonna hate, but I am a lifetime fan of the Antiques Mall of Madison. And Wanda! : )
Little bit for everyone. Some good items to be found. A lot of space!
One of the best places. Have found some good Peaces here
Always plenty of selection. Decent prices to boot.
A lot of good finds, but the staff sucks, they wont help you and even though the sign says closing at 5, they start shuttinglights off at 430 as they want you out so they can leave at five. Rude, obnoxious, and horrible management. I feel bad for the vendors in this mall
To pricey on most stuff. Lots of glassware and d jewelry. Needs more variety
I have been here about 5 times in 10 years front booth cookie jars moved about a inch in those years priced to keep until some novice comes in to say he bougjt these jars. All jars in fact were out of early 90s tags faded on some first clue . Mall nice and big though
Very cool antique mall, fun to explore
This store contains great treasures but the staff was horrible. They were very disinterested, very unprofessional, didnt treat their inventory well. I will not be back but staff needs to shape up. I guess you can just go in there, find something great and get over their attitudes.
The prices are very inexpensive for what you are used to be paying. The staff is so friendly and helpful!
I buy a lot of diecast cars from them
Good place. big variety. Going back
Wanted to purchase a large and heavy item. When I asked for help in getting the item out of the store, the male worker rudely replied absolutely not. I live two hours away and dont have any way to lift the item out of the store, not to mention the difficulty manuevering around all the glass cabinets and breakables. The male workers unhelpful response, Well it got in here so it can get out. Very disappointing. UPDATE: I appreciate the response from the antique store and will say more: Yes, we measured our vehicle several times, and YES, we decided it would fit and wanted to go ahead with the purchase. The workers were aware that we wanted to go ahead with the purchase. We had suitable transportation!!! Transportation was NOT the issue. Our problem was the near impossibility of getting the item OUT of the booth, through the squishy aisles filled with glass. I suppose I understand the liability aspect of it, however, that could have been explained to us while we were at the store. Also, Its not really logical to expect a customer to be able to maneauver a large item that weighs hundreds of pounds through a ton of glass cabinets and other breakable items. It would have been a liability for us, too. Please consider checking out the other reviews. We are not the only people who had rather disappointing interactions. I read these reviews before we checked this store out. I was still willing to give it a chance, however, I am sad that we received the same kind of negative interaction that other reviewers warned about.
Went there for the LAST Time with fiancé and parents. We all love antiques. Great selection of items and large mall. But and HUGE BuT never again. So many items not for sale. The owner and cashiers attitude was a turn off right away. Stern and accusatory. Not willing to call dealers to make a deal. I have PTSD and that’s a huge trigger to have someone talk down me. You people need to hire someone with interpersonal skills. If your mall is successful and you are making a killing then good for you. I see you have been getting bad customer service reviews for 2yrs. I feel sorry for your customers. So to anyone that is reading this, my suggestion is to go a different antique mall.
People were very nice. High quality and variety of antiques.
Always very nice. And new things added quite frequently.
Nice variety of items and very organized. Took away 1 star as they are not gun friendly and dont allow weapons even with carry permit.
Tons of good stuff more than you could look at it today.
Large mall with many dealers but very little turnover as far as I could see. When I visited the mall today all booths had the same items they had about a year sgo.
Good clean building, variety of items.
Fairly large, but a lot of garage sale stuff. Mostly ambitiously priced. Very few antiques in the strict sense. Almost no furniture.
Great place to find pretty much anything ur looking for
Many different dealers, many different eras, fun place to snoop
Love shopping here always lots of interesting stuff.
Such a quaint mall with great prices on unique items!
A variety of items with helpful staff.
A big store! Will be back to find more next month
Lots of interesting stuff here. Wide range of antiques.
Anti-concealed carry sign on front window. They have every right to display it and I, as I did, have every right to not shop there. If youre more interested in shopping for treasures than left-wing politics go elsewhere.Dealers at this mall - bear in mind youve lost customers before they even enter the establishment.
Lol at the butthurt gun owner Joseph below. Cry more. Why do you need a gun in an antique store? If you feel that threatened by life, lock your doors and stay inside. The world isnt for you. Boo-hoo.As far as the AMoM goes, I pop in a few times a year. They have good stuff, out of the ordinary finds, decent prices, and its clean. Staff can be hit or miss. Kids should never be behind the counter. They need to up the level of customer service and general friendliness and its 5 stars all the way.
Nice place 👍
Great place to find lots of things!
They have a wonderful selection of priceless antiques!
Nice selection, its good for a browse from time to time.
Me and a friend went in there and the lady said if youre not 18 you have to leave so we show her our ids and she still kicks us out because she says my friend does not look 18 she had a bald spot.
Excellent staff and service and amazing selection
Nice variety of past and present
Nice selection of antiques.
Best antiques in madison
Lots of stuff. Hard to find what you are looking for.
Wanted to buy $700 truck.....no one would offer to help me????????
My favorite antique mall.
Tons of stuff here and theres always something to look at and Im sure anyone can find what theyre looking for here
Very large selection
Terrible customer service, didn’t want to get up from their seats to help get something out of a case.
