The staff was very nice. But pricing is extremely high. To be fair, I typically do all my own work. So I may not be giving a fair review. But I was able to purchase all the parts at full retail pricing for more than $100 less than I was quoted. And the labor was also very high considering I was able to do it myself in an afternoon with no lift or professional tools. $900+ for a/c in an early 2000s Mustang just seems way to high. However, due to the fallout from COVID lockdowns, there arent a lot of other options left if you cant do it yourself.
Great service! Derek and his guys are hard working and will get your air conditioner working like new. They had my vehicle ready the same day! A++ customer service and quality parts! Thank you Auto Air of Macon!
Love this business and it’s people. It doesn’t matter how old or how new the vehicle is, they can keep you riding cool. They’ve worked on my 1989 Lincoln Towncar and that a/c is ice cold. They even replaced a defective smog pump for me, which is not even a/c related. Saved me a trip to another shop. Customer service is excellent, repairs are fast and friendly and the mechanics/technicians are eager and willing to explain things to you. I’ve saved a ton of money going to them versus the dealer. I had a fan speed control issue and I also couldn’t control where my air flow came from (vent, floor or defroster. Cost me $3,400.00 at the dealer, only for it to have the same issue the following year. They covered that one but the next year in 2021, same issue. It will cost about the same. Nope going back to Auto Air. They know what they’re doing. I’ve never had to bring back anything for a re-do.
Best in Macon!! Best in Middle Ga!!! Fast service... Great guarantee!!!
I took my 2000 Chevy to Auto Air Of Macon @ 2405 Liberty Church Road Macon Ga 31206. I spoke to the general manager DEREK TEAL. They diagnosed it and I was told that this truck will need a Compressor Kit, Fan Clutch, AC Tensioner, AC Belt, Blower Resistor, Mode Actuator and the Labor would cost around $1250. I paid $65 and chose not to work on this truck.Later on that same day. I took my other truck, a 2003 Chevy 1500. After diagnosis, Derek told me this truck will need the same thing exact thing. A Compressor Kit, Fan Clutch, AC Tensioner, AC Belt, Blower Resistor, Mode Actuator and Labor would cost around $1600.I had a decision to make and I decided to go ahead and fix my 2003 Chevy. I Paid $1,447.45 after the discount. My wife took our kids for a drive and my daughter who was sitting on the passenger side complained that a very HOT AIR is coming out from the front vent.I called Auto Air Of Macon again. Spoke to Derek. Took it back again to them and Auto Air diagnosed it again and told me that the problem is the AC Actuator. And It would cost me another $762 dollars to fix!I told them, If they wouldve quoted me then, that the cost will be $2,200 all together. I would have never give them the job to work on my truck Air Condition. I said, I will pay for the Parts and not the labor since it was their responsibility to check all the system they worked on are working correctly as it supposed to before they give the truck back to me, their customer. They said No, they wont do it.Hours later, I got a call from Derek. He said they are willing to take 50% off in labor and parts.I didnt took the deal. Because during our conversation, He admitted that they should have checked the vehicle for the other Actuator. Thats why they offered me the discount. I knew they overcharged and replaced parts that didnt need replacement. Unnecessary works. I asked them for my old parts. They said they can give me but not the ones from my Chevy since It had been a month.Meanwhile, I took my other 2000 Chevy to another place and they got it fixed for $130 . That only confirmed to me that they overcharge me on my 2003 Chevy truck.I have been to this place before few times and even recommended them to my friends and customers before. Not anymore. I also let Derek know that I worked hard for my money with a wife, kids and dogs to take care of.In this hard times, on this Covid 19 pandemic. I simply cannot afford another $762 more dollars towards fixing the mistake that they did! Now, After spending all that money and a lot of my time and energy wasted, my wife is driving a truck which is running with a cool air on the driver side and a hot air on the passenger side simultaneously .
My father was charged $800. for parts and service to repair his air conditioner . the following day it didnt work .after returning to have to issue checked again he was told it now needed a compressor. another $1200he has taken it somewhere else, for $300. which replaced parts from their first repair, it works properly.my father was taken advantage of because he is old. everyone will know this.
Customer service is top notch! I have my commercial service truck maintained here, and never had an issue with long waiting or excellent service from the shop underwriter or technicians. Will and am recommending this location to all I know. Great people and an extremely affordable bill when its all said and done.
Good shop. They try to get you in and out asap. Ive been going there for the past few years for My AC repairs on my freightliner and the work has been good
Told me exactly what I needed.
They told me that my compressor was leaking. Went back a year later after having THEM install one for $800, and the guy told me the same thing. I feel like I got bamboozled.
Fast easy repair
Great customer service
Great service Great Prices
I took my 2004 GMC Yukon XL to Auto Air of Macon on July 2, 2020. Prior to taking my vehicle, the air conditioner (A/C) worked well, but every 7-10 days the A/C fuse under the hood would blow. Derek called me not long after I dropped the car off and told me that my compressor was building up too much pressure which caused the clutch to blow the fuse. His recommendation was to replace the clutch and the compressor. He told me that this was the only way to solve the fuse blowing problem. Given the price for the recommended replacement, I was somewhat hesitant initially, but subsequently agreed to the replacement. The service was completed that day, and I picked up my truck that afternoon. Approximately one week after the replacement, my A/C fuse blew again. I contacted Derek, and he told me to bring the truck back in so that they could take a look at it. Due to work requirements, the earliest date that I was able to take my truck back to Auto Air was August 6, 2020. Derek called me later that day and told me that they had found and fixed some mangled wires. I picked up my truck after hours and noticed my air conditioner was not working. I immediately realized that instead of it taking 7-10 days to blow a fuse, the A/C fuse was blowing as soon as the fuse was put in. The next morning on August 7th, I called Derek, and he told me to bring the truck back in which I did. Later that afternoon, Derek called and told me that there was nothing more that they could do. He told me that I needed to find someone that could work on it because it was an electrical problem. I explained to him that they must be close to the original problem since the fuse blowing was now immediate. I also told him that I felt there was something that they did the previous day on Thursday, August 6th that caused what was initially an intermittent problem to become transparent. He told me that they had no one employed in their business that could fix it at that point, and I needed to come and pick my truck up. I asked Derek what type of compensation would be provided given that I had paid them nearly $1,200 (Invoice Order #0010124) to repair my A/C which they failed to do, and the work that was performed created an even greater problem. Derek said that I was not due any compensation because work had been performed on the vehicle. I picked up my truck and took it to another shop for repair. It was determined that the power wire from the air compressor had a short at the relay. The cost of repair for this was substantially less than what I paid Auto Air of Macon to replace the compressor and clutch, which seemed to be functioning perfectly well with no evidence of disrepair prior to their replacement by Auto Air. The main complaint that I have with Auto Air of Macon is not that they misdiagnosed the problem. But, that they did not complete a job that they began and for which they were more than appropriately compensated. In addition, they made a relatively minor problem significantly worse. Finally, they refused to even acknowledge their failure to adequately provide services for which they were compensated for or offer any type of customer service to mitigate the repair needed once they realized that their service did not solve the fuse blowing issue with my truck. My expectations were much higher for a well-known, established business in the city of Macon. However, I was greatly mistaken and will be sure to share my poor experience with others in the community who may have a need for their services in the future.
I have been going here for a few years now. A close friend referred me. I had to return for the AC not working in my Freightliner truck. They diagnosed the problem and made the repair. They fixed the problem and my air is cold. Thanks to the service tech and Derek
The best in the business
Great people
Work was done on 18 October. Their estimate was accurate, they explained what they were going to do and finished the job in less time than projected. I was very pleased! Thanks
These guys were great replaced my actuator for under 200 bucks, very quick service.
Tricky folks to deal with. Wanted $830. to fix something that only needed $2. worth of o-rings. I cant trust anyone that works that way
Just outrageous price
Friendly people, fast service # fair prices!
They fixed my baby when Hutchinson Cadillac couldnt even diagnose it correctly. Took a couple trips but it blows colder than factory now.
Thank you jason and crew
Extremely helpful! Very pleased! Thankful for such amazing and quick service.
I have had to fix the same exact issue within a year dealing with Auto Air in Macon,ga. They over charge for the parts and labor only to leave you the customer disappointed with a hot vehicle again in the matter of months. I was advised by them to replace my complete A/C system at a rate of $1200.00. I did what was recommended and in 5 months I had the compressor go out which requires replacing the complete system in order to warranty for 90 days. If you only warranty your work for 90 days that says a lot about the quality of your work and the ability of your employees to do quality work. Just a big waste of money and time I want be returning and advise anyone seeking A/C repair to go elsewhere unless you enjoy fixing the same problem over and over in a short period of time.
Worst place to go if you want an honest evaluation of your problem. They told me that my entire system was shot and needed to be replaced at a cost of $1200. I took my car home and changed out my relay switch, charged the system with two cans of freon, and my problem was fixed. The air in my car is now blowing so cold people ask me to turn the air down because they are cold. Does that sound like a bad compressor? I dont think so. Unbelievable how dishonest some people can be. I honestly doubt they even properly diagnosed my vehicle. They say they charge a $65 diagnostic fee so I think they are doing no diagnostics and quoting people with such a costly repair that most people will refuse the repair but still have them to pay the $65 diagnostic fee. Good scam if you can get away with it.
Best service. Nice people. Professionals. They fixed my truck and at a reasonable price. In just a few hours.
We are from out of the area and the A/C quit on our 2002 Mercedes. After some checking around, we decided to give this shop a try. Within a few minutes of arriving at the shop, a bad compressor was diagnosed, and a quote for replacement was given. Withing a few hours, the new compressor and condenser/ dryer was replaced, and the bill was for exactly the quoted price. These guys are honest, know their stuff, and excellent mechanics. I only wish we lived closer so they could do all of our A/C work. Highly recommended.
They fixed my truck at a decent price
These guys are awesome!! Dropped my truck off to have compressor and other components replaced, and it was done in just a few hours!! And works awesome, icy cold!! Also was cheaper than another quote I had gotten!! THANKS GOD!!!
I cant say enough good stuff about this place. Took my car in with a major problem. They explained everything up front and professionally. They did not even charge me to diagnose the issue. Just amazing experience.
I took my 1986 Chevrolet Camaro to them with an air-conditioned problem. They went through the AC unit and fixed it it was a simple fix. They couldve easily sold me many many parts. They did not.Repaired.And did not charge me the first time I went. The second time I had replaced the motor in the Camaro in needed all new AC lines ran. They did at such an affordable price that I was amazed. Their timing was great. They were very nice and very respectful of my time. I will use them from now on for all of my a/c needs
This is your local go-to for auto air needs. Their prices are good and the service is excellent. They looked at my truck and determined I didnt need service and also did not charge me. Not what you would expect from a typical car maintenance facility.
Great prices and excellent service!
After 1100 dollars it wasnt repaired . Taking it back. AGAIN
Always have what you need
I asked them to add some freon. They charged me $65 and said they couldnt add any.
Ice cold ac repair, feels great
Very fast in getting the work done. Wasnt too pleased with the price however they were quick and got the job done perfectly.
Friendly service and reasonable prices
My air conditioner in my truck went out. They found the problem, fixed it, and had me out the door in less than 35 minutes! Ill definitely be back if I ever need work again!
My auto is cool
Awesome Experience! First they beat every other quote i had on a radiator replacement by $100 or more. Then they had me in and out in a little over 30 minutes without an appointment. Best of all, when i dropped it off, the vent selector was broken and air just blew out of everywhere all the time. when I picked it up it was fixed...I dropped it off for a radiator and didnt even mention the vent selector. maybe thats a coincidence or maybe a mechanic noticed an easy fix, I dont know but either way, great place to do business
Spent to much money and have to take it back and get checked cause otw not getting cold.
They fixed my heater core on my car for a reasonable price.
Always get a 2nd opinion. On 6/8/2018 i took my vehicle in because the a/c had started blowing hot air. After a service tech looked at my vechicle i was advised I needed to replace the compressor w/clutch, the receiver drier orifice tube, the condenser as well as recharge my A/C I was advised this quote did not include any hoses so if they found a leak in a hose while replacingbthese other items it would unfortunately add to the bill. I was given a quote of $1073.21. So after I paid my $65 service fee I took my vehicle to another mechanic and they did a pressure test, dye test even pulled out some sniffer thing to sniff for a leak, they searched front to back of my vehicle, they even got under my vehicle to make sure they tested all my a/c lines and after an hour of searching the only leak they found was coming from a small Schrader valve. They charged me $30 for everything, valve, Freon and labor. I will never refer Auto Air of Macon to anyone I know.
Theyre the best!
Reasonable and helpful
Super friendly, quick, and affordable.
Great service, very knowledgable
Totally a rip off they put a complete system in my vehicle because the guy said thats what I needed over $1200.00 an when I picked it up it still w?asnt working then he said I got to take it to a mechanic shop because he only work on a/c not heaters so why put the complete system in if it was not needed ???
Auto Air of Macon/You are Great!!!!!!!
