If you are thinking about selling your vinyl LP albums to this place, as they advertise, think again. The guy who calls himself the Vinyl Buyer finally looked at my collection and starting throwing the albums around, I guess looking for the ones he liked. He then offered me pennies on the dollar and told me I could eat the rest. I saw the retail prices he was selling these same type of albums for, and realized what he was up to, regardless of the advertising that they do. I am certainly done with him, and his company. I have several better and ethical offers than this place.
This place is great. If you cant find a movie that youre looking for anywhere else this place will have it, or theyll even order it for you if its on the computer. Staff is always friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place for anybody
One of my favorite record stores to go to. They have an awesome rewards program, lots of records, they can order stuff, and theyre nice. No reason not to love this place. Record Store Day this year was solid too... Line outside the store and they handed out forms to people in order to choose the records they wanted. Completely eliminated the rushing that some other stores have. It was great and I hope they continue to to it this way.
Always great, friendly and helpful staff. I never leave empty handed!!!!
Great selection of new and used music and movies!
I found three gospel records and some CDS there. Definitely will go back.
BEEN SHOPPING HERE SINCE THE NORTH GATE DAYS. BEEN A LONG TIME LOYAL CUSTOMER STAFF ARE ALWAYS SUPER HELPFUL
Great selection, staff is super helpful and their rewards program is a great bonus. Well definitely be back!
Very easily can spend hours and dollars here. Great store to pick up vinyls.
I love Silver Platters. Id spend every dime I have in there if I could.
Great variety of DVDs, especially foreign films. The music selection for some genres can be lacking. The location can also be hard to find if it’s your first time going.
Of all the record stores in the greater Seattle area, none I would avoid greater than this one.I’ve visited this silver platters a handful of times, and never have a good experience. I’ll ask for help finding something and receive judgemental looks, or one time employees asked me “you actually like _____?”The layout of albums is difficult to work with, and if more than 2 other people are thumbing through them it becomes crowded in the narrow paths quickly.Lastly for special releases, like record store day. They have told me “line up whenever. And we won’t be open/selling until X” so I’ll go somewhere that opens earlier, and if I strike out I’ll come back and try. The last 2 times this has happened to me, and I came back at X, or some time before it, they have decided to open early and sell the records. It makes it extremely difficult to track a moving target.
They are very helpful and covid safe! Great friendly service! Always go there!
Amazing selection of CDs, found just about everything I was looking for. Felt like I was a kid again there were so many to choose from! Had to pull myself out or else I wouldve kept finding gems.
Great selection of metal albums both new and used. Found my favorite metal album in vinyl unexpectedly. Staff is friendly and prices are very reasonable. Always find more than I came in for.
Absolutely the best record store in the North Sound. Reasonably priced and great customer service
Nice place! Staff is cool 😎
Reminds me of the music shops at the Alderwood mall back in the 90s’ and early 2000s’.Great selection of popular music.
Decent selection, but not a great record store vibe.
Always, one of my favorite places to visit and shop. Clean environment and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Not much of a record collection. Staff pretended I didnt exist. Mostly new print LPs. Prices seemed high but they didnt have what I wanted so I just noticed prices in an offhand way.
Great variety of CD’s and vinyls for all genre
They have a good selection but Im pretty disappointed in there used return policy. Im a collector, not the customer you want to be losing, and have spent hundreds at this store. Its too bad they arent willing to work with customers like me and says a lot about there policies. Also note this return policy is not on the receipt or reminded by staff, so if you happen to miss the sign your loss.
Cool staff, always something good vinyl-wise, tons of parking
Lynnwood isnlaid out exactly like the old Northgate location used to be. Its comfortable! Its the second largest of the three stores and boasts a wide selection of music, movies, television, CDs, LPs, DVDs, Blu Ray... and magazines and books! I dont get to Lynnwood often but I always try to stop in when Im in the area - I always walk out with a special find.
Best record store in the NW due to selection and excellent staff!
Had a nice variety of vinyls and very well organized! Employees were very helpful.
Best place to find inexpensive tv dvds!
This is bargain basement, but thats where the finds are.Good selection on new/used dvds,bluray/4k,not so much, but expect that to change in the future.Soon.Very helpfull, knowledgable staff, friendly and gets any task requested like it wasnt a thang.Built on both factory order and return content, library is extensive.Lots of rare finds with good prices.Definately should check this place out.
Great store. Great selection. Great service. Keep your local record store alive!
Great selection of records and super friendly staff!
Great selection of records and other music media
Its hard to find any place around with the selection of movies & music at each SP location. Their simple alphabetized organization makes it quick to find exactly what youre looking for (unlike other record stores where everything is divided into niche genres). New items can be pricey but good deals on used stuff can be found. Love that you can search their inventory online, more stores need this!! I also like their free rewards program, and the staff is usually friendly as well.
The wide, wide selection of records, CDs and movies are a must see, especially if you find a used treasure at a good price.
Love this place! Great selection!
Good jams at friendly prices!..
Awesome selection, better and cheaper than anywhere else Ive been to. Great place to go!!!
I went in there since I was in the county and only make it around Seattle a few times a year.i checked for a few bands I look for, they had almost all the pigface CDs used..so I got almost the whole stack but left one or 2 for the next pigface person.
Top 5 in Seattle area. Wish they were still in my neighborhood, but I keep coming!
They have records...
I love this record store. I recently bought my 13 year old niece a few records to start her collection. They have a great selection of boxed vinyl LPs. Prices are fantastic!
Fair prices on trade ins. helpful staff.
Excellent selection of new and used movies and music. Rare stuff too. Great prices. Friendly staff. A gem.
My husband and I love this store. We visited for the first time Saturday night. To my surprise they were open until 10 pm. We bought 2 CDs. We were back Sunday afternoon to buy 1 more CD. My husband is obsessed with this store! Super friendly staff!
Great place if youre still a vinyl collector. I order many items through them, vinyl, DVD, and CD and they have been about 95% good on locating or having my items.
Wonderful store with a wide variety and selection. Staff was helpful when asked, but they mostly left us alone. As first-time vinyl buyers, a little more help would have been nice. Will definitely go back though!
Heaven on Earth. The only record store Ive found that rivaled my old shop before it shut down, Everyday Music in Beaverton Oregon. You can spend hours going through every record and not even finish before fatigue sets in. Tons of CDs and movies too but Im here for the vinyl. And theres a lot. Lots of genres and tastes, and the music they play in the shop is amazing too. My only complaint is I wish the rap section was just a little bit bigger, but that is strictly nitpicking.
Silver Platters is fantastic! Great selection of records, CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays etc. and great service!
They used to have the best selections from rare to popular, still a decent range in stock, prices are current market range, with some used being a better deal (when available) One of the last of the music, movies, & shows vendors you can actually look over your potential purchases in person (unlike bait & switch risks of online distributor s)
Good variety of albums.
So great!!! The staff is AMAZING!!! Very helpful and fun. Clearly they like their jobs.
Please support 🙏 this business dont let record stores go away.
I love this place! I wish they carried reel-to-reel products but they have a huge selection of vinyl and CDs. All of the used items Ive bought were in excellent condition. Great prices on used items too
Great selection. Friendly and helpful staff. Recommend!
Nice store with a great selection of records and CDs, but theyre very overpriced on their movie selection. They gave me a good cash price on my trade ins, but it took forever for them to figure it all out. A good 3 to 4 hours of waiting. I had a lot of stuff, to be fair, but they didnt give me a warning on the wait time so I was just sitting there for hours while they kept telling me it was almost done. Still, Im willing to let that go, because they were all very friendly and I like to support used entertainment businesses.
It feels like a blast from the past spending time in this musical haven for the kid from the 90s!
Great place to spend an hour or two listening, replacing old favorites or enlightening yourself with new brilliant artists. The staff are sexy, and to one in particular I apologize for my insensitive Marty Robbins comment. Will you forgive me?
My first time here was record store day 2019. It was busy, but it didnt feel crowded, so I felt comfortable browsing at my own pace. Now that I know it is here, I will definitely be trying to stop by more often.
Excellent service.
I absolutely adore this place! Staff are friendly and always willing to help. Silver platters has an amazing selection of music and dvds, but my favourite is just how much metal they have, specifically their selection of European bands!!
Silver Platters is nothing short of excellent. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Plus, its a great place to discover new music.
This place has the BEST metal selection of any sure in the Seattle area. You can tell the employees are genuine fans, since the record dividers are all meticulously lettered with the band logos. Its also a great place to buy and sell used vinyl, since they really know their stuff.
New and used records. Decent prices. All the obscure music you are looking for.
One of the last places to dig for records. Lots of good stuff.
Great place to find all genres of actual records, if your in the market, or CDs and DVDs. Fun place just to check out the wall posters/signage of movies, music, bands etc..
Great layout. Bellevue is still my favorite but thats because it is my Home Court. Helpful Staff. You cant go wrong in this setting.
Always a fun place to go. Great selections.
Overall I like this location due to it being close to my home. Their selection of vinyl is pretty decent. One major issue I have is that they do not have any record player stations to listen to used vinyl before you buy. Which sucks because if you think something might be cool but are not sure due to not being able to listen to and you buy it. You will be stuck with your purchase since you will not be able to return or exchange it. Its unfortunate because if this was an option I would definitely purchase more records especially when it comes down to new bands/artists I have never heard of. So Silver Platters get some record players.
When I own a disk, I dont have to worry about a streaming service taking away access to my music.
This is the Best place for me to give them the list of items my son want they know what hes talking about 😂
This place has a lot of things to hear and watch, is a great store to search and discovery authentic treasures of the music, tv and movies in almost any format, its recommended to visit with time because its a big place and really worth it.
Great selection of records! I was delighted to see that they had music even for syth pop.
One of the last remaining record stores. Anything to do with music, get it here.
They paid a decent price for what they took (which wasnt much) but is it really necessary to put my discs that they decided not to buy label side down back in the cases? I must assume that two different people went through the stuff so one of those employees likes to put your discs back upside down. :(
Awesome selection, amazing prices and great customer service!
Great selection of CDs! Unlike some retail stores today, which limit their selection to modern artists, this store offers a wide variety of music by classic and contemporary artists alike. Im impressed!
Whats not to love? Great music selection, and laid back atmosphere. Plus, come on, a building full of vinyl and CDs is a building full of happiness.
A great selection of pretty much every genre. Theres even a decent selection of some limited release boxsets that I previously only found on discogs. Ill be back here very soon for another vinyl binge
Really cool, first time in there, staff really helpful, not aggressive in trying to force you to buy anything, and they have a free rewards program card
Loved all the music. I especially loved all the DVDs
Called in days ahead of time for an album but when I came in they said they didnt have it. Called the Bellevue location and they said the Lynnwood location had it. Called them again and they said an employee was buying it. Looking at other reviews this seems to be common behavior which is unacceptable. Not only did they lie but they wasted my time which I do not have tolerance for.
Great selection of music, especially on vinyl.
Loads of movies. place is hard to see being off behind the other businesses. but recommend checking this place out if you like music and movies.
The best for used and new CDs, Vinyl, DVDs, Blu-rays and UHD Blu-rays!
This place has huge selection of literary everything.they are also very nice and helpful
Great selection and great prices. Love this store, as well as its bigger sister down in SODO. Will special order anything you need. Support this local gem of a store. Big selection of CDs, vinyl, and movies.
If you still buy CD, or you love new or used vinyl this place is well stocked. They purchase as well.
Great value on the used vinyl and tons of used cds.
Great store with great employees. Check out the Jazz vinyl section. beautiful.
Love this place! In this day of online shopping and streaming the Silver Platters is keeping alive the thrill of browsing for hidden gems and the gratification of enjoying your purchase in realtime for audio and video philes!
A record store in the classic 1980s sense. Plenty of floor space, which holds LPs, CDs, and I think theyve even got a handful of DVD/BluRays (never really looked at that section). We come here for LPs and they have a pretty good selection. Some used stuff, but the majority is represses and reissues. Theyve got a wide variety of genres, probably about anything youd want to find. Theyve got a handful of rare LPs on the wall behind the checkout counter - always interesting to see whats up there.
Huge. Never know what you might find. Good variety of LPs in nice shape. Worth checking out.
A good place to get records and CDs if you are out in Lynnwood and dont want to either head into Seattle or order online. Large space, wide range of artists, and both new and used recordings.
Great selection of new and used CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays.
A boring plain atmosphere housing well-informed staff and a great, great collection of music CDs.
Great store and friendly staff! Awesome for pre ordering CDs!!
Great selection of LP’s...always find something I’d like to add to my collection
Expensive but you can always find what you need here. Frendly staff and plenty of parking.
