The salesman was very helpful. Maybe too helpful. When youre going in to buy a guitar you kind of want to linger around and look at every one of them, even when you know what you want. Lol. They didnt have what I want in stock and said they would ship it to me. Waited a couple days for an email or some kind of notification of when I would get the guitar. I called and Steven was very helpful and let me know when FedEx would be delivering it. It arrived on time and the guitar is great. My brother bought a nice guitar there a few years ago. I would have no problem going back to Sam Ash for my musical needs. Thank you Steven

Friendly and helpful service, although it took some time, as the store was quite busy. We went late afternoon; morning might have been a better choice. While we were waiting, we lucked out with a regular visitor/guitar player in the acoustic room. He played several guitars for us and provided his thoughts/opinions.

I take lessons from Mr Don Baker twice weekly at the Mayfield Sam Ash.I live in Ashtabula but dont mind the commute given the quality of instruction.Don is infinitely patient and generous with praise and encouragement.Admittedly l can become impatient & discouraged which he hones in on dispels with kind words and his demeanor.l know with his guidance Ill succeed at playing and consider it an honor to have been under his tutelage.Anyone considering lessons for themselves or a family member would be remiss in not seeking him out first, a definite asset to Sam Ash!

Great customer service. I went in for an audio interface. They gave me honest opinions and advice without trying to upsell me into gear I don’t need at my current level of experience. Because of their guidance, I was able to pick a mic, headphones, and a midi controller as well all for less than I thought I’d pay for an audio interface alone.

Brought my son in to purchase his first guitar and he had a great experience. Unlike a competitor store, Sam Ash always has the guitars properly setup, they are attentive and knowledgeable, friendly and professional.Isaiah was great, kept checking on my son (when I had to chase down my youngest), and congratulated him on his first guitar. I LOVE this place ... I try to buy from them when I can. We musicians need a place to go when there is no time to wait for something to ship. I was on my way to a gig and needed a cable. Sam was there for me.

When I shop for higher price items I find and study and get all the info I can. The rest is usually on you. I believe it went very well, I was satisfied with my purchase, I love my new fender and amp.

The associate was helpful, but he could have at least acknowledged me during the nearly 30 minutes I stood at the counter while he was having chit chat with another customer. (Part of the discussion was about how he got his job.) By glancing at my watch a couple of times during the wait, I attempted to make it obvious that time was of the essence to me. He could have at least acknowledged me while the other customer was filling out what appeared to be a credit application. He actually took an unrelated phone call while the other customer was filling out the application. While he was waiting on me, the other customer interrupted, coming back into the store to give him an advertising flyer of her event.

Sean was the associate who helped me in choosing a digital keyboard. No high pressure. He just let me look at the ones in which I was interested and explained each one. I settled on the Yamaha P-125. I loved the feel and sound. It was not in stock, so he ordered one for me. Can’t wait to start playing. This a great place to shop. Lots of instruments and music and knowledgeable people to help you.

Came here to get my clarinet repaired. Maybe I’ve just been getting ripped off in the past, but I was charged much less than other places. My problems were fixed, and they even threw in some complimentary cork grease!

Isaiah is awesome! I do not play an instrument and neither does our 23 yo daughter who asked for a guitar for Christmas. Isaiah happily helped me figure out which guitar to purchase, as well as the accessories out daughter would need to get started. I gave him my budget, and he actually recommended a guitar that was under my budget but, in his opinion, the best value. I totally appreciated his insights and honesty!

First time at Sam Ash Music Store. Did not know this music store been open since the 90s very satisfied with my visit.

I grew up hanging out in a local music store in Akron, and I used to love playing whatever instrument caught my eye. That chain of stores is long gone and has forced me to shop elsewhere. I was regularly shopping at another well known national music store chain, but I always felt rushed at those stores and really didnt enjoy the experience. Im happy to say that my recent experiences at Sam Ash have brought back some of those feelings of yesteryear. The staff was never pushy and always accommodating. Buck the other big music store. Shop at Sam Ash for a good experience and good value.

About a year ago I went into a competitors store looking to buy a bass guitar, amp, and lessons. There were about 10 employees hanging around doing not much of anything and maybe another customer or two. I was there for about 25 minutes and at no point was I greeted or asked if I needed help.Today, I go into the Sam Ash store and I am immediately greeted by Robert Schneider. He asked if I was looking for something in particular and we talked about my wanting to learn bass. Robert being a bass player himself was already to take care of anything I needed and answer any questions. In short, I felt like someone was truly interested in what interested me, tailored the equipment needs to my taste and budget, and got me setup with lessons. All of this was done with no pressure sales tactics and the obvious love of music. Make no mistake, good equipment is investment but I feel I got a good deal on what I took home.My thanks to Robert and everyone else who had part in getting me started. :)

Id been looking for an epiphone gibson inspired firebird for awhile especially after watching the tear down and review on trogolys you tube channel.I finally called Sam Ash and talked to Isaiah,he said he would try and locate one.He called back and said he found one in New jersey.At 600 bucks this guitar is amazing.It might as well be a Gibson.I think this is one of the nicest guitars I own.And I own some nice ones!

Ive been frequenting the Sam Ash location in Lyndhurst for all my basic guitar needs since moving back to the east side of town. After some months of research, window shopping, and testing models, I finally made my first guitar purchase from this store. I used to go to the other big name retailer down the street, but between the incredible customer service of the Sam Ash staff and what I believe to be superior pandemic safety practices, I have been converted. I would specifically like to thank Stephen Kainec. Not only is he just fun to talk music and guitars with, but his deep understanding of product lines and excellent customer service--no matter what I walk into the store for--is something I havent experienced at a large music store in years. I highly recommend this store.

I have always had a good experience at Sam Ash. The staff is knowledgeable, hospitable and patient. Specifically, I would like to specifically commend Steve (guitar section sales rep) for his assistance yesterday. He was candid, kind and helpful; qualities that are truly appreciated.

Sam Ash provides a great customer service experience and a great selection. Employees are usually very knowledgeable about products. I bought a keyboard the other day through Sam Ash and the employee helping me knew enough about the product to know a certain quirk about it that it required an adapter which he found online and shared a link for with me. Much better than other similar stores.

Inventory was low but the guys were outstanding.

The gentleman who helped me was very nice. My initial purchase was a very inexpensive acoustic guitar. He showed me a better guitar and made a few good points, so I bought the better guitar.The store is very big, and has a wide variety of instruments and accessories. The location is tricky because that area is congested and busy and currently under road construction.

Byron was professional and responsive to my questions and I was able to purchase the items I came for with confidence.

Lucien is just awesome. He has worked on all 5 of my babies and I can’t say enough good about they way they play after. Highly recommend!!! I also take lessons here as well and highly recommend John Rupert as an instructor. The way he teaches and his laid back manor make learning enjoyable. On the floor you have Graham and Adam. Both of these guys are so Knowledgeable and easy to deal with. You walk in this store and you feel like family !!!!

My old amp has been acting up and not reliable. Search was on for a new amp. Narrowed it down to Line 6 Spyder or Boss Katana? Wanted to try in person to compare. Katana won out. The only one left was the one I was playing on the floor. Isaiah was very helpful to make the final purchase.Now I can play whenever I want and my amp is ready too!

Went here a week or so ago and the selection of instruments was pretty cool! Really admired the PRS 10 tops they had behind the counter and the almost all original 69 Les Paul hanging on the wall. However, my experience with the dude there was pretty awful. Very pushy salesman(to the point where he was cutting me off mid sentence trying to sell me things) and called my purchase of strings and a fret wrap boring.

Love this store, I bought my PRS there in 2002. Sam Ash is still family owned and that means a lot these days.

Employees were helpful, but then walked away when we were buying an instrument cable, which the guy didnt tell me there were more.....so he lied to me about what cables they had.Took his time and said loudly to another customer: let me get these 2 out of the way.He was rude. We got what we came for n then just walked out.

(Will not mention any names..just letters GS) the experience was horrible.. In the store for 25 min. Before anyone said anything... Bad taste in my mouth about that store... The current staff is quite considerate and helpful. I am grateful to be able to shop independently and know that service and assistance is available when needed. The overall quality and attitude at Guitar Center has taken a nosedive and shipping from Sweetwater is inordinately slow and often confusing. I will continue to make this location of Sam Ash my primary choice for equipment and accessories.

I went in with a trade and was looking for an acoustic guitar. The salesman there was so helpful. I had an idea of what I wanted but wasn’t sure. He helped me with what I wanted, not with what they wanted to sell me. Spent time showing me different styles, sounds and builds. There was no push to buy, but most important no push to by the most expensive. I tried many different guitars in many price ranges and the salesman was very knowledgeable on all of them. I finally left with one I love and fits all the playing styles I needed. The people here are very knowledgeable. I have been dealing with them for years, and it is one of the only places I will go for my musical needs.

After buying my guitar I called to ask about a setup, the guy I spoke to recognized my voice, remembered my name and the guitar and arranged the setup. I just picked the guitar up last night and its been setup to perfection. I could not be happier. If I ever convince my wife I need more guitars I know exactly where Ill buy them from.

Ive been going to the Lyndhurst location for nearly two decades and have never been disappointed. This is truly a musicians music store. They have knowledgeable and friendly staff, and a good selection. Pricing on new gear is just as good as online competition in most cases. If you want to sell or trade old gear, the process is quick with no BS or haggling. I definitely recommend Sam Ash over the other guys down the street.

The website said the store had the item in stock. When I arrived, the store about an hour later, the store was unable to find my order. They said they were waiting for the system to update. I showed the staff member the email, and they had trouble locating the item in the store. She eventually took one from a display, but couldnt let me leave the store without manager approval. She tried unsuccessfully to get the manager to come over and give me approval to take the item I had already clearly paid for. Eventually the system updated and I was allowed to leave. It was a terrible customer service experience and is not hard to see why Sam Ash has trouble competing with other retailers. The management and staff at the Lyndhurst location had a complete inability to quickly resolve a seemingly simple issue.

In my area, Sam Ash is good as it gets. From what I can tell the staff really enjoy their particular field of music that they play. Some are technicians and enjoy that part. The store is so full, that you have to watch where you go, so not to bump into things. And not to lose yoursel. Its like a big toy store with so much to play with, you will be there for hours if youre not careful. So yes I usually have a great experience there.

Very courteous and helpful sales staff. I called the night before about a used electric 5 string bass that I saw a couple of weeks ago. Said I would be in the store tomorrow to take another look. The manager pulled it off the wall and reserved it for me! Next day I brought in my used 4 string bass guitar for trade-in and got a good fair deal on the exchange of the two, and also a new strap.Note It helps to visit any music store before the kids come in the afternoon.

Super nice, attentive staff. Walked in and I was immediately greeted by a clean, spacious and bright store. Very well organized. People were friendly. As I walked the sales floor, I was greeted by every staff member I encountered -- at least 6 different people. All asked how my day was and then asked if I needed anything. When I said I didnt, they left me alone. I love that part -- many stores need to take notes from that. If someone says they dont need help, then dont keep asking them! The staff made themselves seem approachable and warm, so if I did need anything, it wouldve been easy to ask. Also thanks for buying my flute and giving me a great price for it. Hope to do business again soon!

After an unexpected transition from a previous music school, Sam Ash employees were very welcoming, helpful & supportive. I was very concerned that my daughter would not be able to continue with her awesome guitar teacher, but fortunately, that wasn’t the case!!Sam Ash has a much more professional atmosphere and students get a discount on merchandise in the store, something that my daughter’s previous music school never offered. They also allow you to cancel/reschedule classes online (which is very convenient) & are understanding if a student needs to miss a class unexpectedly due to illness. This has been a more positive change than I expected. I’m grateful for the change!!

Tristan was one of the most helpful music store employees I have ever met. Not only did he answer all my questions, but he and the other employees went out of their way to set up multiple pieces of gear so I could demo. They were respectful and helpful, even offering suggestions that would compliment the gear I had already picked out. What a fantastic experience. Unlike some other music store chains, the store was clean, every piece of gear was powered up and ready to demo, and the stock on hand is just amazing. I recommend Sam Ash highly and wish they would expand to the Pacific Northwest (where I live).

I took my Ltd. EC-1000 in for a setup. I hadn’t played it in a few years and when I picked it up again it was definitely in need of a setup. I dropped it off on a Friday evening and got a call that it was ready the next evening. I have had it back for a few days and it is playing and sounding better than ever. Definitely worth the money.

Got exactly what I needed for my studio, it was all cables, connectors, and a bonus, they had an old cord for my Korg DW8000, and they gave it to me for free! I enjoy shopping at Sam Ashs so much more than Guitar Center. They have inventory, they have staff, I can usually find what I need, and their used gear selection and gear is so much better than GCs. I know GC is in Chapter 11, but if they close it would not break my heart.

Had my Musicman Bongo worked on, needed a new input. Tech did a fantastic job, decide to let him do a re-string and complete set up while it was there, very pleased, picked up a new lifetime cable while I was there. Reasonably priced, no complaints.

I was looking for a variety of simple music and instructional lesson books. I found all the series that were required as well as a friendly and helpful staff. One stop shopping.

The staff was so helpful! My son has been taking lessons there, so I actually just went in to let him play around for a while so i could speak with the lesson coordinator and adjust his schedule! Id just missed her but instead of leaving the percussion section attendant gave me her card so I could just call another day, sold me some sticks and gave me a lot of info about an electric drum set. Id been eyeing another one, but he showed me a better set (the one he uses) that would be more suited for my son. I love Sam Ash and will probably never shop anywhere else if I dont have to!!!
