Went by to seek information about their homes and packages but they wouldn’t give us the time of day. Dont bother going by if you look less than fifty, there staff is very condescending and looked at us with pity just because we are young. Very bad experience would not recommend to anyone looking for a house and especially to someone who is new to the process and wanting to ask questions. Lady didn’t even want to attempt to try to sell us a house basically said better luck next time.
Great service not pushy like other dealers plus they are very knowledgeable not just reading off of a script to get the sale
The lady would only let us look at 2 homes even though I told her I was very interested and lived an hour away and would be hard for me to visit again anytime soon. She didnt act like she wanted to sell homes. Went to another home dealer in the area and they treated us completely different and was extremely helpful!!!
With clayton homes on ward road when you go in ask for matt wrens believe me hes a good salesman. He would go beyond his way ot help you and get on on the right track for a home. Awesome dude real and they come and just conversation with him you will think youve knowing him for a while. I really appreciated hopefully I will be moving forward as of today oct 11,2021 all because of Matt if yall looking at the reviews make sure you like mines after yall talk to him. Thanks Matt
First the staff and atmosphere is very welcoming! I love the selection of homes and the consultant Matt is very helpful and knowledgeable. He has been of great assistance during this process and is making my first time, new home owner experience very enjoyable and with ease. Kudos to you all!
I can honestly say this is by far the worst office and customer service I have ever had. I came to the office to meet Julie whom I had called the day before and let her know I was pre-approved along with the amount. Even on the phone she was in denial about the amount. When I showed up I had my pre-approval in hand which confirmed what I had said. She was in shock and still in denial. She proceeded to take me to view some homes and at the end she asks me where did I work and then of all questions HOW MUCH I MADE because of again how much I was pre-approved for!!! I did not answer her so she proceeded to walk ahead faster. As we returned to the office she asks me did I want a break down of how much the house I was interested in would be which I said yes. As me and my daughter are waiting I could hear her talking about me and the pre-approval letter stating that cant be right and that how did I get pre-approved for so much based off my job. I am a government worker and that is all she needed to know. I felt discriminated against and treated unfair, I was not helped at all the way I was with VA/Carolina homes did. She didnt even show me homes within the amount I wanted then going to ask me why I wanted something that is within my budget. Frankly, it was none of her business and she is only there to sell she aint got a damn thing to do with what I make or why my finances approved me for the amount they did. You lost a client and I will be never recommending anyone to her or this establishment.
Good place they care about safety.
Beautiful homes, but was completely turned off by the associate showing us the home! She asked no less than 10 times if we wanted to apply for credit with them (you have to pay $1000.00 to do this), even though we told her we were just beginning our home search. We had to make it very clear that we werent going to be paying them a dime... VERY pushy!!!!!!!!!!!!
The lady in the office was extremely rude and unhelpful when we were asking simple questions about purchasing a home. I recommend going to other Clayton locations.
We stopped by there today to look at the homes. We have been to this location many times, as well as other Clayton locations. We have been during the week and on Saturdays, and allowed to look at the homes at our leisure. Today we were informed the salesperson would accompany us, as the houses were locked. We questioned it, as we’ve always gone ourselves to look, and were told the “open house” is only on Saturdays. We explained we’ve been during the week before. The salesperson said this was a new corporate policy. We were not interested in listening to a sales pitch and to be pushed into the buying process. We told her thanks, but no thanks. We would go down the road to Allen’s Homes where we don’t have to be accompanied by a pushy salesperson when looking at the homes.
Nice homes.
Julia is awesome!!! Loving my new home!
We have been looking around at houses for a little while trying to figure out what we want in a home before we actually sit down with price and figure up everything. We came to Claytons in Lynchburg to view homes on a Monday around 4pm and there was 1 man on the office. He completely shut us down and told us he couldnt show us any houses and that we needed to have a set price range before he did on what we could afford. Then he continued on how we have to know what we want and know what price we want to go for and tried to explain land and I explained to him we didnt need him to find land. He kept cutting us off and didnt show us any homes we finally left. This one experience makes me and my wife both agree to never buy from Claytons. He was rude and unprofessional telling us if we dont know a set price then he couldnt show us and that he wanted a Mercedes but he knew he couldnt afford a Mercedes so he therefore didnt buy one. I felt like he didnt want to sell to us and maybe its because of our age because he said we need to figure more out before we come back since we didnt know anything. Which we do but we got so annoyed we just didnt speak after the second or third time being cut off. Then we left without letting him finish after 45 mins. Of telling us we cant look at homes or talk about a price range later. We needed a set price then on the spot and we needed proof of land and it was too much for our first visit. All we wanted was to look at some of the double wides and see what fit us best.
Great place to go see Doug Lawrence he will hook you up with a house
Sales staff was too pushy! Looking through a few homes and the saleswoman was about to leave us so we could look on our own (which is what we wanted so we could discuss how we felt without pressure) and then came right back so that nobody else would be able to take the sale if we were to buy that day. We came on a Saturday and found something we liked but we were on the fence, and she called us that Monday to see if we had decided yet. Then a week later. Then again some time after that... we bought our home from the Bedford location. They are very down to earth and answer any questions without being all up in your face about making a decision.
The first visit was a little dicey, however, once we got connected with Wallace everything has gone smoothly. Super friendly, very knowledgeable, and probably one of the best sales persons Ive ever dealt with.
My daughter and I wanted to get an idea of possible additions to the home soon to be constructed for them. The staff were quite cooperative.
Never been to a place that’s trying to get you out the door as fast as possible. I go in there to figure out my options and they’re just short and don’t really want to help you figure out if a Clayton home is something that you can do.
I will start from the beginning. I went with a modular home for the fact that it is to be faster than a stick-built home. My reason going that route is that I had a house fire in 2017 and it took a year for me to decide on putting my life back together. Then because of insurance reasons I needed to move forward with the home. I went with Clayton Homes of Lynchburg…...found the cutest home just right for my family and I. I spoke with the salesman, Wallace Deaton, and he got me on track for a new home.I ordered the items I wanted in the home and wanted it to look like a little a farmhouse. So I paid in full in August of 2018, and was told without guarantee that I would be in the home by Thanksgiving or at least by Christmas. While I am sure weather may have caused some delays, it is now April and I am still not in my home. When the house arrived at Clayton’s lot and I was allowed to view it for the first time. I asked why the roof was low pitch, the salesman informed me that because I had ordered a metal roof it couldn’t be shipped with the higher pitch. I then told him if I had known that I would not have ordered the metal roof. When I went inside the house, I saw that the microwave was not in the same place as in the model home. He gave some excuse for that as well. After seeing the house on the lot, they gave me some flags and the salesperson told me to place them in the general area where I wanted the house to set. So, my fiancée and I went and place the flags, assuming that this was a general idea of what we wanted. Without any communication they had poured the foundation….the house is not even with the road and looks crooked. You truly don’t know how much I hate this. When going into the home, I went into the bathrooms and noticed that the toilet seats are smaller than the toilet bowl. Furthermore, I asked about the toilets during the sale time, I asked that if they would be the taller style toilets, and he said yes; they are not!I was living with father who lost his battle with cancer in October of 2018, I am still in the home, however it is now on the market. I made Clayton Homes of Lynchburg aware of this and I was assured in February by the manager that I was now a priority and they would “make things right”. It is now April 7, 2019 and I am still not in my home. Clayton Homes of Lynchburg has dropped the ball so many times during my home buying experience.Mary said I would have my Certificate of Occupancy this week, but they just informed today that I would not get it because I must have grass seed and straw on the property before I can get that certificate. This is the first that I have heard of this requirement, after a week of beautiful dry weather and now today’s rain, I must wait another week of dry weather to have this done; yet another delay and failure of communication on the part of Clayton Homes of Lynchburg. The realtor for the home I am living in says she has a strong potential buyer. What am I supposed to do?
Mr. Deaton was very helpful in showing me the homes and explaining the costs for purchasing a home.
Nice selection if thats what you want. Excellent customer service
Very friendly staff and very helpful
Nice selection of homes on site and very friendly and helpful staff.
Thank you for the wonderful service, I am putting a home in South Carolina but the Sales Lady still took the time to show me homes and spend time with me reviewing floor plans, and printing the Clayton homes I could go to. Thank You!
They get paid and then dont seem to care any more ask a question and have to request an answer from them time and time again and you still may not hear from them. Have they ever done this before, how do you stay in business this way?
I had a very awful time with this office as I came into the office and it was about 4:35pm on a Friday afternoon and it seems like everyone in the office was already to leave for the weekend. The salesman that I spoke with was very rude in that he felt like he had to leave to take his wife to dinner, that was more important than helping the customer find a home. The other gentlemen that was staying til the office closed was very rude and actually following my wife and I around locking up homes behind us. The salesman said that he wanted to leave and said that we would only be able to view one more home as he had locked all of the other homes up. When we got back to the office we tried to ask him a question and he stated I WILL NOT ANSWER THAT QUESTION, YOU WILL HAVE TO ASK YOUR SALESMAN now that is very rude. I will never return back to this office ever again and I dont recommend this office to anyone, BEWARE!! If I could leave a negative reply I certainly would for this office. Another thing is that I will most likely be contacting the corporate office about this incident.
Not a Good company to do Business with.
