Bittersweet Golf Course is a challenging and very well maintained Golf Course featuring bentgrass tees, Fairways, and greens. Many of the fairways are dog legs and are relatively narrow with water hazards on one side. The greens are elevated, multi-tiered and are very fast. This course is definitely not designed for the beginning golfer. The course demands accurate shots and the correct Club choice especially off the tee. Tip: youre better off leaving your shots a little short. If your long on your drives or on your approach shots youre asking for trouble

I love playing here. Beautiful scenery! I appreciate how polite and respectful the grounds crew is. Always a great round of golf. My only wish is that they put a few benches near the driving range. It would be great to sit and relax for a minute when hitting a large bucket of balls. Love the practice greens and ability to practice sand trap shots.

On a beautiful day this challenging course is a good test for golf balls to stay out of trouble. But for the game its well worth the effort for the love of the game 🎯

Beautiful golf course!

Played a fast round mid-day today. Course was very playable. Enjoyed the oasis that Bittersweet provides, especially on the back nine. It is unfortunate that so much of the physical infrastructure (such as cart paths) is decaying badly due to low revenue and public ownership by the village of Gurnee. Its a shell of its former self.

The course was absolutely beautiful and enjoyed all 18 holes immensely. The carts I used were clean and properly working. The staff, especially Kristie and Liam, were very welcoming and friendly toward me as I was new to the bittersweet golf course. It was an overall amazing course and will definitely come again!

Was a pretty course especially on the back nine. There were a lot of divots on fairways and the greens were full of poorly fixed ball marks. No facilities on course except a couple of port-a-potties.

The course is in very good shape. Greens are smooth and rolling well. People there are great. Course requires strategy, leave the driver in the bag for some holes. Play smart you will enjoy it. Good driving range and practice green. Get a lesson, the pro is very helpful.

Course is in great condition, best Ive seen it -- greens were near perfect. Its not a long course, but there are tight spots. You hit an errant shot, expect to be penalized. Staff is friendly, and value the customer.

Bittersweet is one of those courses, no matter how many times I have played here it never ceases to surprise me with its creative layout and sensational views. Its one of the best courses in Illinois. They have a decent driving range and few practice greens on premises. Course is walkable and no matter your skill level you wont be disappointed by spending time here.

Best golf course you can go too. Dont be fooled go here to see if you can really golf from the blue tees. You wont be disappointed. Everyone is so polite.

The course had some nice views, but overall was not impressed with conditions and layout. Some forced carries. Swampy. Quick, short landing areas. Blind shots.

Really nice course. Tucked back in a neighborhood. I wouldnt recommend walking this course for your first time. There is a long walk between some holes. This course will challenge you to stay out of the water but is do-able. The greens are well taken care of and not too crazy. I wish they would have had more ball washers. Only had a few on the course and the ones they did have were mixed at best. The drink girl didnt make the round until at 2pm. I will play at this course again.

The Staff was Very Friendly . Food was Very Good😊 The Gals...Our Bartenders, Servers were all FANTASTIC. THEY SERVED US A GREAT LUNCH AND SUPER DINNER. STEAKS that were Grilled Outside Nice Salad, These Gals Were Outstanding.😊😊 they served over 60 of Us . Thank You.

Course was fair and fun. However, golfers need more ball cleaning boxes and drinking water tanks which were hardly found. Greens need more sand and please make them even surface... Overall, it was average experience.

The bartenders/staff are amazing! This is the place to be whether you are golfing or just stopping by for a drink. Highly recommend visiting for some fun and entertainment!

I called this place inquiring about the course and permanent tee times. The man was very helpful with all my questions. My group will probably golf here during th he season.

You must bring your A game to this course!! Its always in great shape and you pay for miss hits. I hate it, but I love it at the same damn time.

This is a challenging course that I like a lot. I play in a weekly League here and I play other times as well. The course is narrow with lots of water and sand so not for everybody.

Favorite Course, Great Food Too

Like the course a lot, gotta know where to hit it and stay out of trouble, can be very tough first time or hundredth time. Lives up to its name, can easily shoot 100 or 80 depending on how accurate you are on any day.

Course is in xcellant condition baring a few dead spots because of the flooding. No carts in the parking lot, no cart access to the bag drop, which is kinda stupid.
