Such a cool store. Dont go with high expectations, but go with an eye for oddities and supplies for your Asian cuisine.
Great variety of Asian cuisine grocery items to include a variety of spices, food items, and fresh vegetables! Highly recommend!
My favorite place to get pot sticker wrappers and unsolicited Asian cooking advice in all of Lynchburg. I heart this place.
I just got some tea today and it cost around ten dollars. I got home and was so excited to make the Oolong tea. As I placed a tea bag in my cup, I realized that the tea expired in 2017! I called to let the owner know. He told me that it is still fine to drink it. And yes, that is true, but it is not as good at all after four years past the expiration date. I told him that the box says it is best before May, 2017. He got angry, raised his voice, told me to return it for my money, and just hung up. I will go back to get my money and will never return. If I could leave it a 0 star, I would. Horrible customer service!
Interesting little store. They have a wide variety of Oriental merchandise & foods. Owner is SUPER nice
Great selection! Lady who runs the store is super sweet, I’m still looking for Strawberry Milkis so I’m going back to check again! But great selection! Also some snacks that I have never seen!
The perfect place to find authentic asian groceries, some things cant be found anywhere else in the area.
This is an interesting store. This was my first experience... I couldnt read hardly any of the labels as they were asian. The cashier was quite friendly, though hard to understand. He spoke with a very thick accent and broken english. We didnt go in for anything specific, just to check it out. We did leave with some Asian noodles that we have had a very hard time locating! Were excited about that. We also left with a fresh flounder. The cashier told us about having fresh fish. He seemed excited to announce it & sell it. We grilled it for supper. It was quite tasty! I would recommend if you are looking for fresh flounder or jumbo shrimp to give them a try. Also, if you are looking for hard to find asian ingredients!
Good friendly service. Mostly get brown rice and noodles from here.
I love the oriental foods and spices and stuff to make a great meal and the plants that they have and other things you just got to come in and explore and look around and you will find something you like
I found here my Agar Agar gelatine, and long beater and other Chinese specialties, as vegetarians we use a lot of Asian cuisine.
It is a strange little store with mostly Oriental groceries and some other random items. Im not sure how they make a living at it cuz usually when I shop there Im the only one in the store.
Love shopping here for fresh fish, crab, vegetables, sushi rice and noodles
Not 99 cents. But their stuff are really cool. They have a lot of dry goods.
Chan was super helpful! We bought amazing ramen and sushi grade salmon, would recommend and will return soon
I can find everything I need for preparing delicious Pan Asian cuisine, region to region, affordable authentic ingredients, with a pleasant, helpful Owner. Premiere ingredients, super fresh fish and even crabs( in season). Freezers full of hard to find staples to elevate your menu and taste buds. I recently purchased an authentic Qipao for my tween from here, she LOVES it and she looks beautiful wearing it! The pricing is consistent and fair, Plus, they have large selections of Japanese, Korean and Chinese noodles and so much more than I can name, I love it here!
Good service and items
Dont expect your stuff to last more than 3 days youll be fine
I love coming here for my sauces and 불닭볶음면 they have the best selections for ramen and frozen goods in the area. And the owner is very friendly!
Very friendly and helpful. Wide variety to choose from
Would give 1 less star if it wasnt for the variety of grocery options. The owner wasnt too helpful to be honest. Nice guy but was watching videos on his phone and when I needed help for a Korean vegetable I have never seen, nor know what it looks like, just points off in the distance saying its in the cooler. Which items in the cooler, the prices were marked but only half the items seems to indicate what they actually are. Which for someone new to the culinary culture would be stumped.
Great store, yhey have Japanese mayonnaise which is great!
An oriental gem
Nice worker and the store was clean
Be careful with the owner who works the cashier. He has to type the price of each item you buy, and you have to watch him while he does it because he will try to overprice some of the item, or even double price them. Most of his items are already way overpriced, and he still wants to try to overcharge his customers! Ask for your receipt when you buy something there, and don’t overbuy! One of the worst oriental stores I’ve ever been. Highly not recommended. My suggestion is, only go there if you really need to buy something there that you can’t buy anywhere else, but make that store your last option!
Good for home fun cooking they have everything you need even live Crabs.
Terrible customer service and the store smells like cigarettes. Not healthy for a grocery store aspect.
Very helpful staff, fantastic selection of Chinese imported groceries.
Staff is not the nicest, and some price tags are missing. But the owner will help when you ask. Have many nonperishable East Asian grocery - a lot of Chinese but also Thai, Vietnam, etc. Though there arent many fresh asisn produce available, you may find the dried one to use as a substitute. Just ask the staff to be sure. In a small city like this, this seems to be the place with most diverse coverage for Asian ingredients. Note that they accept cash only for a small buy.
I absolutely love going here! Amazing selection of goods, and theres always something new to try and see. :D
Excellent prices and a nice selection! Your classic oriental shop with food, clothing, and miscellaneous items.
Has ingredients for oriental foods
They always have an awesome selection, and the owner is super helpful.
Be careful of what you buy. I bought an imported food product that I had to throw away after I looked up the ingredients. It was a solvent that gave test animals cancer.
Always a great spot for those hard to find ingredients.
Remember that when you rate these stores is is for the total experience. Is this Walmart? No, but there are things here that you could never find in an American supermarket. This store carries authentic Chinese ingredients, lots of essential items, and yes, lots of odd, impulse items. Definitely worth a trip if only because it is so different.
This is the place to get those rare Asian items that you cant find at Kroger, food Lion or even fresh market. Prices are good and the owner is excentric. What more do you want. Check the freezers for more produce too. Lots of Asian table Ware and bulk rice.
I try and eat gluten free. They have potato flour, rice flour, tapioca flour, rice and yam noodles plus always fresh vegetable and seafood in season. Very friendly and helpful people. Lots of cute things on the 99 cent side as well, good for quick kids toy or even stocking stuffers at Christmas.
1 St time I had been there. A great variety of products. Lil pricy but nice.
I was in there about a month ago, and the woman didnt know how to answer any of my questions (which I understand she doesnt speak English well, (thats what she said anyway, not sure I believe her after this, but courtesy and compassion has no language barrier!), and acted like she was annoyed with having to help a customer, me. She was bordering on rude. I had been in there several times before, always when her husband was there ( and he seemed to know a lot more and care than she did), but this last time, she actually laughed at me when she was talking to another oriental customer at the register, after I asked her another question. She said something then both of them looked at me and laughed. I hope in the future to only do business with her husband, but if I am treated that way as a customer again, I will report another negative review and report them to the Better Business Bureau, after writing a letter to the editor of the Newspaper in Lynchburg.
Such a great selection of all of everything you need for your Asian cooking. Some of our favorites are the frozen sushi grade tuna, fresh/refrigerated noodles, steamable dim sum, so many sauces, lemongrass.. They have whatever cooking dish you need to prepare it right, and the owner is friendly and helpful! A hidden gem of Lynchburg.
Great place. Friendly and helpful staff.
I was hoping for more food options, but the ones they has were some of my favorites. It was a little tough to tell if they were open later in the evening and the parking lot was poorly lit.
Good selection of necessities for Asian cookery and priced fairly. Good produce.
I love searching for those items you just cant find somewhere else. This place is great.
Awesome Beautiful Tea
Very helpful owner. Sometimes they have fresh fish. Foods from various asian countries.
The owner is rude 😠😠😠. If he is watching something, he seems like he does not want to be bothered by the customers. If there is another Asian grocery store, I would never go back. This is based on multiple counters not just a single experience.
A treat to see if you enjoy cross-cultural experiences. Lots of varieties of imported grocery goods too authentic to pass up.
Great fresh bean sprouts and frozen dumplings. Sadly, no bead molasses, may have to go with Amazon.
If you cook your own Chinese and Japanese food, this is the place to go for your spices, sauces and ingredients.
Owners are always friendly and informative.
Watch out for spices corner back of store. Years out of date. Fridge stuff is good
Only place in this area to get some of the things they have to offer
Love this place. Its a hidden gem
Nothing inside is 99 cents. However they have an excellent selection of Asian groceries
Love this little store. Has a lot of things you cant find in other stores.
If you ever wanted to try some interesting international treats this is the place to go.
You can get fresh fish and crab every Thursday.
I love this store! I am a frequent shopper!
They had the aburage I needed to make inarizushi! Also had Thai sticky rice and a host of other ingredients to make my Asian favorites. They were also very friendly. The place isnt much to look at, but they have what I needed!
I like the folks that work there and I can find some items that are not found else where in this area. If you want bamboo; shop here..period.
Massive place & variety of Asian food, especially Vietnamese ingredients & food. Friendly staff. Quite overpriced but will mostly find what you need here.
Good selection of oriental foods.
Things can be a little pricey, but its great that they have Asian food here sold nowhere else.
Great selection
Very Nice and nice people
Great place for anything Asian!
They have so many things that you cant get anywhere else.
Lot of variety on asian food.
Hard to find Asian food. 👍
Definitely going back!
