Every since we moved into this area, John Smiths has been our go to sub place! Always hot, fresh, and their cookies are amazing. So are the seasoned parm/Cajun fries. Honestly its all amazing...There has not been one thing we have tried, that we did not LOVE! We have met the owner many times, and he is wonderful. It really makes you feel good supporting his business in the neighborhood!! Especially during these times!

Ordered food with a 15 minute window. Food was perfectly cooked and order was correct. Went to pick up order at the counter since I ordered it on-line. The employees were super sweet and had smiles on their faces. Love this place!!

Subs are delicious, fresh and generous. I am always full and satisfied with a 6-inch turkey. My dad loves the cuban so much that he wont even read the rest of the menu. If you havent been here, you have to try it!!

I used to visit Jon Smith Subs when I traveled down to South Florida. I was so glad to see that they opened one not too far from me now. Ive been to this location twice and love it! They have delicious cheese steaks and tasty fries. Their service is quick, accurate and the restaurant is impeccably clean. I highly recommend!

I had the steak sub (The Bomb). Think ill be skipping dinner ... Im stuffed ! Food was absolutley awesome ! ! ! Cant wait to try something else from here.

It was enjoyable. Friendly staff. Sandwiches were good but not great. The best of the three we got was the Gator and the price is kinda steep but hey ur getting over 1,300 calories. Of course the 15 year old boy demolished the Gator in short order.

I wouldn’t waste your money, the subs are just ok, nothing really special. The customer service is where they really lack, I work up the road and stop by often but the service is never great and today was kind of my last straw. I stopped by at 2pm on a Monday and the doors were locked but the open sign was on, there were two employees inside both looked at me and then turned their heads and ignored me. Not sure what that was about but they could’ve at least told me if they were closed. I stood outside for a couple minutes and no one came to the door so I left. Save yourself a trip and get a Publix sub down the road, cheaper and so much better and not to mention they won’t lock the doors and just stare at you!

Awesome place for steak sandwiches with the best French fries you will ever eat. Staff is very polite.

The girl at the counter was very friendly. This was our first time trying Jon Smith subs and the sandwiches were amazing. They use Boars Head meats and have Tabasco Sauce and Hellman’s Mayonnaise on their tables.

We have been very happy with the quality and freshness of the ingredients used by this sub shop. I love the option of having any sub made into a salad bowl, which turns out to be large. If there is any problem, let the owner know and he addresses it quickly. This establishment has been consistently good.

Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I were turned away at 7:40 when they are suppose to be open until 8 because two teenagers working there said that they were behind on closing so they weren’t accepting customers. Very upsetting.

Delicious food. Had the tuna sub in soft fresh bread (baked fresh daily) fresh toppings and fries with drink. The service was quick and fantastic smiling faces greated us. Located in the plaza at Balantre Blvd & SR54. A must visit..

Greasy cheese steak, no flavor, 6” more like 3, waited 15 to 20 min. While others were picking up ahead of me while dining in. Cuban was nothing special. Not coming back. Nope! don’t need to hit a link to advise the staff, that’s your job.

I had a cheeseburger sub. Dry and bland. It looked like frozen patties from a box. Burgers from McDonald’s are more juicy and flavorful. For the price I expected something of a higher tier. This was my first visit and I’m not planning on going back any time soon.

Food is hot and fresh. Subs are made to order and the fries are delicious. I love the bomb sub. Its my favorite. Worth the trip.

The Bombsteak sub was tasty. The fries were a little undercooked but would be very good normally. I had the wheat bread, but the white bread looked much better.

Super good food, great service, and good atmosphere. Dinged one star for being a tad pricey ($18) for sammy, fries and drink. But so much food it was still worth it. Ill order a 6 next time and be plenty full

Im from West Palm where I used to go to Jon Smith all of the time. The Steak and Cheese Sub is amazing and havent found another sub place like it. When this location opened my husband surprised me with the sub. Taste just like I remember. Weve gone back probably about 15 times. The last 2 times we went (went last night) the bread was different. Taste like a hotdog bun! Very disappointed. I hope you go back to the fresh subs youre known for.

I went for the first time to see what the hype was, so I tried the chesse steak classic maybe should of add more cheese, onions and bell peppers??but was not impressed. Although the service from the pretty young ladies was excellent and they were very helpful 👍. I will go again but will try a different type of sandwich.

Thought I would give this place a try since I was a little tired of Jersey Mikes. Now if you take a look at the sandwiches on the site, please compare to the classic with added mushrooms I got today. Got a sandwich with a lot of bread and very little meat. Will not be returning if this franchise owner is gonna have this as a signature sandwich example.

Tuna was very fresh an sub was tasty.

Good sub my only problem was the bread. It was like a hot dog bun. I had a cheese steak and the meat tasted good but the roll was falling apart cause it was too soft.

Good experience. Was looking for something that wasnt that just another fast food chain that lines 54. While a chain, it certainly is a good sub for a good price. Both hot and cold sub options. Havent had a chance to try the fries out yet, but I will if I swing by in the future.While out here, Highway 54/Lutz seems to be nothing but planned commercial developments/chains, so I wouldnt hold your breath for a better mom/pop sub shop to pop up anytime soon. In the meantime this is drastically better than a Subway.

My son and I both had the Cuban and loved it. The fries are nothing special. Definitely worth coming back to try some of the other subs.

Very good costumer service. But the sub was so nasty I didn’t even eat it. The bread was so soggy and there was no meat on my sandwich at all. So gross and very wet. The fries were really good and fresh though. I wish I could’ve gotten my money back.

There was a nothing bad about this place, its boars Head meat so its ok quality, not the best not the worse, just felt like a publix to me. Go if your in the area, dont drive 30 minutes like I did cause you heard it on the radio, not worth that trip for sure

This place is great! Locally owned by Jon, and he runs a great business with a great product. Try the Steak Bomb or the Gator. Amazing and unique subs. Fair price! Its a new, and clean place with great customer service.

The food is very good, and I would give 5 star but... The accuracy in getting your order correct when ordering via DoorDash is horrific. Wife and I ordered JSS once or twice a week for lunch since weve been working from home. I would say every other time the order is incorrect. Typically, the error is we order 12 and recieve the 6. I guess the loss funds should be classified as donations.

Overall, bad experience. This was my first time trying this place. I placed an order online to pick up at 5:30. Got there at 5:30 with 3 hungry kids and my order wasn’t ready to go! What’s the whole point of online ordering ahead of time if the food is not ready when I get there?? So one of the staff said she has to make my 2 larges fries and will be about 3 minutes. I had to wait 15 minutes for those fries.. And when we got home and opened the bags, there was only one large fry.. I didn’t bother going back for the missing fry. Subs were just okay but fries were bland, had no salt or anything. I understand you guys get busy, but still.. have the food ready for the time it is said to be ready!!!

I love John Smith’s Subs! I have been coming here since they opened and the sandwiches are always amazing and the staff is always very friendly and professional! I was here yesterday having one of my “Bomb” sandwiches and a not so very nice customer (she was obviously hangry!) had come in and having worked in hospitality and customer service it took everything inside me not to confront this woman myself! For goodness sake she was complaining about her mustard on a Cuban (one of my favorites!) and her bread wasn’t soft! I must say though that the manager Jenn handled things very professional and the staff was all but accommodating to all of her needs! So not only does the amazing food get 5 stars but the staff definitely deserves more than 5 stars! And remember people just because you are hangry or having a bad day John Smiths Subs is going to make it better! To Jen and her staff, keep up the great work!!

Food was not good

Advertising leads you to believe they are an upscale establishment. Subway looks classier if you ask me. Bread is better!! I dont think a sandwich shop should claim to have a cuban if it is not served on cuban bread. The fries as a side is a fabulous move but the quality of the fries is poor.

I’ve eaten here a couple times now and felt the need to let everyone know how great it is! All sandwiches are made with fresh meat and a lot of it. The Gator can’t be beat! Go try one for yourself. I’ll definitely be back.

We had lunch here yesterday. Really enjoyed the food. Bread was so fresh. The classic chicken and tuna were delicious and the cookies are to die for. Another plus was the Sprite Zero (you never see that on fountain) and Hellmans mayo. We will definitely be returning to try more of their menu.

Steak sandwich was great

It was my first time there and I’m quite happy to have gone there for lunch. Although I had a GroupOn, I am shock to see they serve my favorite philly steak sub. I’m am a happy customer and will be back for sure. They have a lifetime hungry guy.

Yo been here more than 10x and its great, subs are nice and hefty along with the fries, never had the salads or wrap so I cant speak for them. If I had to be a hater i would complain about nthe price being a little high, but I feel the food and service make up for it..

Don’t bother. Ordered a wrap with ham and turkey and it was going to be over $12. Then their card machine would not work. Tried to tell me it was my card. I went next door to the Hungry Greek and card worked fine. Don’t waste your time here.....I know I will not!!

Way too expensive for what you actually get in my humble opinion.

Average. Took ~15min just to get 2 sandwiches (compared to the ~15sec for Jimmy Johns), and there were only a few other customers.I had the Cuban, which was decently good. I also had the Italian, which only had like 4-5 slices of meat, the bread was about 10x the height by comparison, both of which just tasted averaged.They need to add some seasoning.Sorry, but I’d choose Firehouse Subs and Larry’s Deli.No Wi-Fi either (and almost no cell reception).

This was our first time eating there and it will be the last. Both orders were completely wrong, one sub was supposed to be chicken and it came with steak and bacon which I did not order. The bacon was supposed to be on the other sub which was wrong all together as well. We told the girl at the register and she said I’ll make sure to tell the girl who cooked it and didn’t seem to care less and we never heard her say a word because we ate inside. So the order was wrong and food wasn’t good. We won’t be back.
