Amazing customer service!! I have never had an automotive center communicate so effectively. They emailed me a quote of services after looking at my car, which gave me time to think about what I wanted to do. They also texted me an inspection report of what needed to be done to my car in order of “immediate attention” to “future attention”, along with some pictures of my car that had the issue. This was my first time getting my car serviced here and will definitely be going back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

They take amazing care of your car! The most open and honest mechanic Ive ever been to. They will tell you everything that is wrong (and right) with your car and if you urgently need to fix something or if it can wait. Their service is impeccable. They even washed my car and cleaned out the inside the last time I took her in! Absolutely LOVE Springdale Automotive!! Super friendly and knowledgeable. I was concerned when Stein sold, but found Springdale gives the same great service. My only complaint is too much information. I don’t need text and emails throughout the time my car’s in the shop. Easier if they just called, told me what needed to be done, the cost, and then let me know when it was ready.

Mark at Springdale surpassed expectations and went above and beyond. I called when an engine light came on days before my daughters drivers test. It took forever to get a drivers test appt. so I was afraid she would fail due to the car needing maintenance. Mark got the car in immediately and said he would help himself if needed to get it finished. They finished within 24 hours and even replaced lights and other little issues to make sure she wouldnt have any problems. The price was more than fair and the service was exceptional. Thank you

My car was pulling and I took it to Stein because they’re near my house and I read a lot of good reviews. They let me know I had a nail in a tire and patched it pretty for a low cost. They also gave me a detailed estimate of other services they suggested with priority levels. They were polite and helpful and quick, I’ll definitely go back.

We really hate to give such a bad review but in this case we simply have no choice. Our association with Stein goes back to 1987 when Russ Stein personally checked out our very first Porsche 911. After we moved to Texas we did not have a service relationship but we started taking two of our Porsche 911s to Stein for service about 2 years ago when we bought a second house back in Louisville. I give them a two star rather than a one star (which was tempting) on this occasion as I have been satisfied in the past but just felt like this time we were not treated so fairly. We took our 1998 Porsche 993 cabriolet in a few weeks ago for a bad brake and general driving pull to the left which we felt was probably an alignment issue. The car was at the shop for nearly a week. A bad battery was found (we were appreciative of that find) but they admitted they could not adjust the alignment to avoid the pull. So - basically I paid almost $900 for a battery and an unsuccessful alignment attempt. I had no choice but to take the car elsewhere where it was found that the alignment WAS bad (negative camber on the front right - positive camber on the front left and toe was out of spec). So I paid the other shop t make the fix and the car drives fine now. Again - we like Stein and the staff there seem like very nice guys but them simply would not engage with me on this issue. Regardless of what the owner or GM may post below in rebuttal know that he/they ignored a phone message, an email and a written letter all attempting to see if there was some was to be accommodated for this issue. Too bad .....as we liked this establishment and would have gladly brought them additional business. Now we will have to think about it real hard.

Their service was outstanding! Provided transportation home and a loaner car over the weekend. My only complaint is that I was not informed of the 2.9% credit card fee and with the amount of my bill, it was almost $70. They have a sign on their door that checks are not accepted. I received an electronic invoice via text and knowing that I was a first time customer, I strongly feel that they should have explained the options to me. I also disagree with the additional “job supplies” charge which is in addition to parts and labor. I am certain that shop rags and cleaners, etc., are more than covered in the markup of parts and labor.

Stein staff are always helpful and quick. I never am pressured to add service options and they communicate through text which is helpful when I’m busy at work. Once I had a large repair and they worked to reuse some parts and saved me $1000. That was a huge relief and not what I would’ve expected had I taken my car to the dealer. Highly recommend.

I had thought I had squeaking breaks on my 2018 Audi Q3. I dropped it off and they were able to take care of it early in the morning. Turns out, I probably heard someone elses breaks. I ended up paying for a half an hour so that was a huge relief. I am super protective with my car and I will always trust Stein. I appreciate them for being so professional and timely.

No punctuality! Stein had my Ferrari 308 GTS for 40 days just for new clutch! It operates fine now. They did a good job actually fixing it but that is not my issue. The clutch they found was very very costly... whereas I found original clutch kits online for much cheaper and they kept waiting and waiting some more on the part. Stein also charged me an additional 1,100$ over the agreed upon price right as it was finished. They decided to wait until I was physically checking out to notify me that they had bought a new flywheel instead of resurfacing the current one as discussed! Very upset about this whole ordeal! Will not be back at steins they are not professional and would recommend avoiding them

These guys were so great, even though I didnt use their services. Yesterday, I was in a car accident down the street and worried my car wasn’t safe to drive home (it wasn’t). I found Stein Automotive online and saw they were half a mile away. They came out as soon as I got there and gave me their honest opinion on how much damage was done and advice as to what I should do next. While I actually had my car towed to a Honda-certified mechanic at my insurance’s request, I watched multiple people come and go and it looked like they had a great no/low contact key drop off system. Beyond them just being great and letting me go through it with my insurance in their parking lot (for almost 3 hours), offering to bring me out a water bottle, offering to call me a tow truck, and eventually letting me leave my car there to get towed, they also really impressed me with how safe they were being during COVID-19!

I took in my 2012 Audi A6 and paid almost $500 for them to run a diagnostic on the car that they think is could be multiple issues. I called Audi (which I shouldve done in the beginning) and they said the (said) issues isnt what it sounds like - I guess I shall see once Audi runs their diagnostic. If youre trying to save money to go here, I would advise you not too and just take to the dealership. I will say Brad was super nice and his professionalism is commendable. But paying half a grand and still not knowing the underlying issue - well thats just disappointing.

I brought in my wife’s Range Rover because of a small coolant leak. The guys at Stein were able to comfort us by letting us know it was a common issue and were able to replace the parts at a fraction of what the local dealer quoted. I went to stein to have the battery serviced in my 2011 porsche carrera and after i drove it to work the first day out of the shop, there was smoke or steam coming out of the hood so i opened up the hood and BATTERY ACID WAS SPEWING OUT. it got all over my nice brioni shirt, it ate the paint job under the hood, it was awful. to make thing worse stein did not take responsibility and did not fix it on their dime. this company is awful please take your nice german cars someone else where they will get a good service. these guys arent mechanics theyre butchers

I brought in my 1982 Porsche to get worked on and when I picked it up there was what appeared fecal matter in the back seat and a big red stain on the back passenger carpet. It smelled like a big red and it was sticky. This was very unprofessional. AVOID STEIN AUTO!!

It took intervention by the boss to get a straight answer to the question about why the car was brought in. Several services which were done less than 6 months ago were suggested. Some of the prices were absolutely absolutely outrageous, and in 1 instance a service suggested was clearly listed as not indicated in cars with. Superchargers like mine. A phone call from the manager helped mitigate my unhappiness, though I am not sure I will bring a car back. In the past I had 3 cars serviced here without complaints.

My car was not starting well in the cold weather. Stein was able to work me in same day I called. They quickly diagnosed the problem. I needed a new battery. They replaced the battery, checked everything and had me back on the road in about an hour—as promised. Now that’s great service.

I used Stein for my Audis 75,000 mile service and could not be happier. The service was fast, professional, and a good value even in these times of Corona. I would highly recommend the intake clean as VWs are especially prone to carbon buildup. After this service the car is noticeably quicker with a smoother idle and overall powerband. I now have a mechanic I can recommend when people ask!

After looking over my vehicle upon returning home from the shop, I noticed 4 dents in the front bumper around the BMW badge that were not there when I looked over the car Before dropping my car off. I do a once over look so I can tell if any damage was done while being worked on. I do this because last time I brought my car in, I got it back with a golf ball size scuff on the hood that I had to buff out. I was willing to let that one go but not this time. Your technicians should be more careful with customers vehicles

Was in a pinch got sway bar links replaced.. but they quoted $950 to install front springs at 8 hours labor....For JUST front springs.. 8 hours. No mechanic should take near that time to install 4 springs much less 2. Figure its their way of telling me to find another shop.. ok by me.

There was a lot more wrong with my car than I thought, which is usually the case if anything feels off with my Mini. But they fixed it and it is running like new! Im glad there is a specialist still in town that can take care of me. Wonderful service that kept me in the loop every step of the way. The diagnostic phase was spot-on, with no additional surprises or charges. I would definitely recommend and will be using Stein for all of my future Mini service.

Beware. This shop is under new ownership. I have used Stein Auto for over 10 years to service my Crossfire. There was never any question about honesty or integrity. If someone from Stein told me my car needed something I was able to take their word for it. Every time they had my car in their shop it was inspected from bumper to bumper.I recently took my Crossfire in because the motor smelled hot. After several hrs I was texted an estimate for over $4,500.00! When I questioned Ken he said that some of the items could wait, such as a rear tire that was losing 5lbs of air every couple of weeks, and other maintenance items that werent due until April of 2019. The bill dropped to just over $2,700.00.When I picked up the car I questioned why none of the work that was needed such as a corroded knuckle support was present when the car was serviced four months prior while previous owners were still there. And the tire that needed replacement had been temporarily plugged!I cannot even go into the absurdity of this situation. In the end I paid the $2,700 and will never use the services of this company in the future. I do not like being ripped off!

I have been visiting Stein for years now. The technicians are highly skilled and knowledgeable. They have gone the extra mile for me more than once.Their inspections are incredibly thorough. I recently trusted them to do a PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection) on a 2000 Mazda Miata. They were short staffed that day but still got me the car after hours! I got to look at the underbelly while it was up on the lift and point out any areas of concern. Nathan, the tech helping with my Miata was very patient and explained everything in words I understood. I ended up buying the car and I couldnt be more pleased.Stein consistently takes the necessary care with their customers and their vehicles to help them feel at ease and secure in their decisions. The quality of work justifies the price. I wont take my cars anywhere else.

Generally you do a good job. This time I brought the car in for an error code on the dash. You charged $125 just to read the code which required you to replace a $40 brake light switch. I don’t believe for a minute that you spent more than 5 minutes reading the code. So replacing the $40 brake light switch cost a total of $277 with labor and including the $125 to read the code. This just looks like overcharging.

Overpriced to say the least. They recommended that I needed services performed that were completely unnecessary according to 2 other mechanics that inspected my vehicle the following day. In addition to that, both of the other service stations stated that even if the services/repairs had been required, the quoted prices were “exorbitant”. I paid $350.00 for spark plugs that, according to the manufacturer, I shouldn’t need for another 50,000 miles (my vehicle has less than 50,000 miles on the odometer). All I asked for was a tune-up and I ended up with some VERY expensive spark plugs (which were NOT needed) and a list of overpriced services exceeding $2,000 that were recommended but, as it turns out, were either not really necessary or overpriced or both. I would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE. BEWARE.

I had just left my office on Dutchmans when a bunch of systems started failing on my vehicle very suddenly. I was afraid I would not make it home so I pulled into Stein Automotive to see if I could just get some quick advice. I wasn’t sure if I could drive safely to my dealership for service or if I needed a tow. When I walked into Stein, 3 personnel were seated behind the counter with no other customers. I asked if somebody could help me out, a gentleman proceeded to tell me they were closing in an hour, work only by appointment and could only help me by running a diagnostic test the following day. Basically they won’t help me. So I found the next closest auto repair shop and made it there very slowly. The place was called Ken Lowery’s. When I went inside, a gentleman approached and asked if he could help me. I told him the same information I had told Stein and he immediately went out to my car, turned it on and said without a%100 guarantee he believed my alternator was going out. He suggested I have it towed to my dealership since it was still under warranty. He allowed me to wait in the parking lot for my tow. That is real customer service. I work for a large corporation that specializes in customer service and I plan on letting them know of the horrible experience I had at Stein Automotive.

I brought my A3 in to have them fix a parasitic draw. While they claim they found the cause of the issue they said they were unable to fix it because the specific module at fault needs to be programed by an Audi dealership. This is a major caveat that should have been mentioned before taking my car. When i dropped the car off i thoroughly explained that i had already performed basic parasitic draw testing and that i thought it might be a control module, which i knew would have to be programed by a professional, hence my bringing it to a shop. Now i will have to pay an Audi dealership to repeat their work and actually do the repair. So essentially, I paid them $288.00 for them to tell me to take it somewhere else.

I will never go back to this place. I went once in 2015 and they left the oil cap off after they finished. For that I paid $130 (ish) only to be told when I called to let them know the man said you must have done something. Nope. I took it back in and they redid the oil change. Very inconvenient. Fast forward to this past week. I figured I would give them another shot because of the location for my scheduled Service C. I get a text around 8 that my car had been pulled into the lot. Another around 11:30 saying they were inspecting it. Finally after 3, I get a text and email with an estimate for over $4100 for the required service C work. Most of which I had done last year. I told the man all I wanted was the oil change andthe man tried telling me they couldnt turn off the service light off since the other things they recommended werent done. I know this is wrong and told him so and he kept insisting that was the truth. I replied that I was on my way to pick up the car. When I showed up he said, I went ahead and told them to turn that light off. Thought that couldnt be done...Hmm. Anyway, they charged me $248 for the oil change. Let me repeat, $248. Unbelievable. I will never go back to this place. Never! I dont care about the convenience of location. I would never recommend this to anyone. My only recommendation is to keep on driving to find another place.

This is the second time I’ve used Stein Automotive for service on my Minis. This time it was an oil change for my wife’s 2015 Cooper S. I’m very satisfied with the service and care I received and will definitely be back.

I purchased my first Porsche two years ago. At the time of purchase, I knew it had some issues, but I never dreamed I would have to rebuild most of the car’s engine. Being new to the area, I checked around and Stein at Bowman Field came highly recommended. That is where I met Rob Huff and I have worked with him ever since. No one better to lead me through the labyrinth of repairs this car would need.I took it in and a few days later Rob contacted me with a listing of motor damage to the vehicle the previous owner had inflicted. Rob, his staff, and I have spent the last two years putting this car back into the condition it deserves. One of the first things they did was to give me a list of necessary repairs. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated that list. It became my Bible. Rob and I discussed the order of repairs and the urgency of each before proceeding. When I asked a question, I received an informed and knowledgeable response. As to cost, foreign cars are expensive to maintain and even more so to repair. I feel the pricing has been fair and the repairs necessary. They took a beater and turned it into a racer.I have lived in several different states and driven foreign cars my entire life. I don’t turn over my car to just anyone. I usually glom on to one person and one business that I work with. I can say that in the Louisville area that is Stein at Bowman Field and that is Rob Huff.I can’t recommend these fellows enough. Rob has taken a real interest in my car and in helping me get through a massive repair situation I never anticipated. I have found them to be honest, the team works together and comes up with creative solutions to problems at what I judge to be fair pricing. They certainly had my interest at heart when they worked with me. I can’t recommend them enough. Good people to know and good people to work with.

Stein Automotive has been taking care of my Mercedez for years. I wouldnt go anywhere else. They are always honest and professional. Ask for Rob or Kenny. You cant go wrong. I recently started taking my sons Nissan there. They treat my son and his little car the same as if it were a luxury machine. A Plus and five stars all the way.
