Having just moved to Louisville, I was recommended to Mr. Transmission by another local mechanic whom doesn’t do transmission work. Mike was very professional and upfront about what he thought was wrong with my car. Very knowledgeable. The work was done within one week and now my car drives like it’s brand new. Price seemed reasonable and fair for the work that was done. 1 year warranty provided! Would definitely recommend Mike and Mr. Transmission for any car problems!

Never had to have a transmission rebuilt before but was pleasantly surprised by all communications with Mike Ulmer. Job completed ahead of schedule and on low end of estimated cost. Wouldn’t not hesitate to take another vehicle there. This store was recommended by my local Goodyear store and they did not steer me wrong.

Staff were very knowledgeable, professional, personable, prompt. Price quotes were very honest and reasonable. They also do a 2 week follow up to check on repairs that were done to make sure all work has been done satisfactorily. I highly recommend them.

Im an over the road driver not from the area and broke down on a Friday. They allowed me to sleep in my truck on their property over the weekend. Even gave me an extension cord to plug in.When the truck was being worked on they gave me a ride to and from the hotel.Usually for transmission rebuilds you wont get in for a week. Since I was OTR driver they started working that Monday already. Got it done in two days. They went above and beyond for me. Their kindness was very appreciative. Thank you.

My family and I were traveling home from a trip to FL and our transmission started having issues. Every place we stopped told us there was a two week wait. We got ahold of Mike with Mr. Transmission and he was very professional and understood the urgency of our situation. He got us in right away and fixed our car in one day so we could get back on the road. I highly recommend he and his team for any work you need done!

Great place to work with and fixed my electrical transmission issues within a few days and got me back on the road. Seems like a good place and was recommended by Harper’s on Bardstown Rd. My one complaint however is that i wish they didn’t test drive my car before taking a look at it because it was literally towed there on a trailer. I had an issue with transmission wiring (so the actual trans was fine) and now it shifts slightly harder and it’s probably due to the fact that it was driven around while the transmission wiring was screwed up (i stopped driving immediately to prevent more damage and got it towed). That bothered me but other than that, i have no complaints. Everyone was friendly and professional.

I took my dad’s 1993 Cutlass over here a few months to look at the transmission that was shifting rough when shifting out of first and reverse.I dropped off the car to have it looked at and got a call a few hours later saying it needed a new transmission for over $1K.I went to American Transmission on Preston highway and he diagnosed it as a faulty vacuum modulator and fixed it for $100.So one of two things happened either, this place doesn’t know how to diagnosis a transmission or they scam customers to sell whole new transmissions. I would recommend you go somewhere else.

I was very pleased with the service I received from Mr. Transmission. I spoke mainly with Mike and found him to be very professional and trustworthy. He explained everything in a manner in which I could understand regarding the problems with my car and what steps it would take to fix it. He was up front about what it would cost as well as the length of time it would take to repair it. In the end he actually discounted my cost to be under the lowest end of what was estimated even though they found a couple more issues needing to be fixed during the process. I would definitely recommend Mike and his team!

I called and asked quite a few questions about ballpark cost for fixing my van. Mike was very patient. He carefully answered my questions and helped me make an informed decision. He was very clear and kind. I did not choose to do the work because my van is old and it would cost more to fix than replace, but if I do have a vehicle that needs transmission work, I will be taking it to Mike and Milex!

Mike and his team did a free diagnostic transmission test, explained my options and then had everything done in the same day. Truly amazing shop and great attention to their customers.

They advertised to me on the phone that their prices were lower than the average but when I called the dealership the dealership offered a way better offer. Please don’t be tricked into paying too much! My brother has gotten his car serviced here before and he said they took 3 days on a simple job and did such a bad job that he had to get the job redone somewhere else!

When it got cold out, my vehicle started having issues accelerating. I took it to two mechanics who needed several days each to take a look. I tried Mr. Transmission on a whim, and Im glad I took the chance. Mike was able to inspect my car the morning after I dropped it off. The lot was full when I dropped off my car. Yet he took the time to call and listen to what had been going on, then called me back within a few hours with a diagnosis. His name is Mr. Transmission, but my vehicles engine issues were no problem for his team to fix. He had my car fixed within a day and a half of dropping it off.Ive used the same mechanic for two years, but from now on Ill be taking all my business to Mr. Transmission.

I was told they would rebuild the transmission for $1700.00. Instead the replaced the torque corrector and replaced the seal. I didnt know they were not going to rebuild it. That was spring on me when i pick it up. I got 4 estimate to rebuild my transmission all was around $1700. Dont trust! Get everything in writing

I had taken my car to a friend and they told me that something was going on with my transmission. Then they referred me to Mr Transmission on Hunsinger lane. He told me that they were really honest and give them a call! I met Danny and he was wonderful with helping me!! They are so very honest and did a fabulous job! I highly recommend them!!!

Mr Transmission is great. After getting a quote from AAnother national brand, somebody at my church recommended Danny and his crew. And they proved honest. In the years I have been dealing with them, they have saved me thousands and have done great work.

This place will lie to you. This place will charge you thousands of dollars on $200 worth of work. This is a warning. I had to threaten them with my attorney and show proof to them that i was watching them and marked my car’s tire to see if it had been moved. it hadn’t moved for weeks and they tried to charge me for the time. if you are not educated on cars, they will take advantage of that and take your money.

Incredible service with fair pricing. I first took my vehicle to a shop that was going to charge me 1400.00 to fix my car. I took it to Me Transmission Milex of Louisville and they fixed it for 125.00. The service was fast and friendly and I will always take my vehicles there from now on. Give them a shot they are a trust worthy place IMHO.

Easy drop off and pick up, relatively affordable as far as transmission work goes. Quick turn around. They only reason they didnt get 5 stars was because they did not call to let me know there was a delay in completing the work (about a half a day) due to an incorrect part being sent over by the distributor. Overall it was a positive experience and I would recommend.

My 2009 Nissan Maxima went to the dealership for repair. They miss diagnosed the problem twice.Mr. Transmisson took the time to locate the issue and made the repairs the dealership could not.

If they can show the damaged parts and replacement parts which they have used it would give more clarity and reliability on Mr. Transmission, this gives satisfaction to customer.They have given initial estimate before looking into the car and finally they have given invoice for the same amount, Labor charges are very huge, I feel to bring the estimated figure, they have added more Labor charges.Many of them are not recommended to go Mr. Transmission, however I came here as I dont know much about cars and mechanics here and dealer is charging more for new part replacement and giving same warranty.Getting noise from my steering wheel when I am taking turn, need to get checked up with them.I have towed my vehicle my self and asked please consider this in the billing as I didnt use your service, he said will consider, but finally its not considered even I requested.I dont see they are doing fair pricing, you can check the images of bills attached, its really heart burn for people who bought car couple of months back and landed with Transmission problems and paying 3000 for repairs.

I would recommend the folks at Mr. Transmission on Hunsinger lane. I had a problem with my truck that could have been several different (and expensive!) things, but they did their homework to find the right fix first. Turns out it was something simple. This saved me money Im pretty sure. My truck had been to a dealer twice with no fix before I was referred to Danny by another trusted mechanic. Theyll do a good job for you, and Ill go back in the future.

Very happy with my choice to take my van here. Was worried it was going to be a major issue. They told me they would check out everything and call me so I could decide what I wanted to do as far as repairs go. Had it towed in on a Thursday and had it back on Friday. Thank goodness my transmission was good but had to have some other issues fixed. They did a great job and I am very pleased that my van runs great now.

Was informed that the general manager of this location kicked out a customer using derogatory terms. That just dosnt seem like a place that I would wanna do business with.

I was on a road trip from DC to Oklahoma, so Kentucky was my halfway point. My Check Engine light went on, which is very alarming to a lone traveler. I was referred to Mr. Transmission by Firestone since it was something too complicated for them.The guys at Mr. Transmission were so nice and accommodating. They took my car in immediately and found out what the problem was and even cleaned my battery among other maintenance duties. They admitted the problem would take several hours to fix, but understood I had to get on the road ASAP. They sent me on my way knowing I will be able to make the next 9 hours of driving and giving me great advice on how I need to fix my transmission when I get home. This helped me regain my confidence. They also told me that I can contact them at any hour if I got into any car trouble. They did all this at NO CHARGE. Ive obviously made it home safely and now know exactly what I need to do for my car. They are genuine and actually want to help people, not take their money. I highly recommend this place, they really know what they are doing.

They do good work at a fair price

They rebuilt my CVT for a 2011 Nissan Altima, with 175000 miles on it. Its yet to be seen if the car has enough life left, to make it worth the expense. I paid less than quotes from other garages.

Was told by another shop that I had to replace my transmission and to expect it to cost $3,500. Went to Mr. Transmission and they took the time to diagnose the real issue and fixed it for 1/7 of the original estimate. Brought in my car on a Monday for a simple clutch replacement job, and they didnt touch my car until Friday. They dont work in weekends, so I didnt get my car back until Monday. When I did get my car back, I drove it 20 feet only for my axle to fall out of my transmission.

My official first review ever. Ive never taken the time in my life to do a review. I try to not view things good or bad generally. However, this has been a nightmare. In the beginning, I dropped car off on the 9th and just got back yesterday the 21st. Now its actually driving like transmission going out. I was also charged the sales tax when supposed to be paid by the warranty. The federal trade commission, better business bureau, and Carmax corporate are all looking into this as enough of my time and money have already been wasted!! My advice to other innocent victims, dont bring your car here. My advice to maxcare warranty group, drop Mr. Transmission, its making you look bad! My advice to the man in charge at Mr. Transmission, repent and seek God. Vengeance is mine saith the Lord. Youve already been rear-ended and spending time at chiropractor since your wrongdoings.

BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!!! I had a HORRIBLE and UNFORGETTABLE experience with this place. I would suggest yo take your car somewhere else or get a SECOND opinion! BEWARE of the FREE inspection advertisement and the 100-200.00 off MAJOR transmission work advertisement. Let me also say this. You may never know if REAL transmission work was done on your car unless you either ask for the OLD parts back OR you have the car taken apart by someone else and check for NEW parts that were installed. The second, can be very costly! Mr. transmission knows this. Beware people. I spent 3000.00 and my car wasnt fixed. SUE THEM!

Hello, My Name is Brad Buford. I wanted to take the time to share my experience with Mr Transmission at 3014 Hunsinger Lane, Louisville, KY.I have a 2003 Buick LeSabre, and the transmission was periodically slipping, & jerking. I took my vehicle to Mr Transmission and the customer service was phenomenal . Jimmy & Danny were AWESOME with the way they both communicated with me; they are both TRUE professionals. My Buick took some time for the transmission specialist to figure out what was causing the problem(s). I picked up my vehicle the first time & still noticed it was doing one of the two issues I initially complained about...I immediately called back and spoke to Jimmy, and Danny. I took the car back in, the transmission specialist went through a several test to try and find out what was causing the issue(s). After running several test and trying to replace several parts...the transmission was still having the same issue(s)...so to fix the issue, the shop ordered me another used transmission, and now my car runs like NEW. I want to say THANK YOU to the transmission specialist that worked on my automobile, and a special thanks to Jimmy & Danny for their patience, great communication skills and professionalism. The Hunsinger LN shop defiantly sets the standards on how a business should be ran. I would HANDS DOWN recommend this shop to anyone that is having issues with their transmission. I am very pleased with the service I received on my Nissan from this shop. Every where else that we took it to said it would be $4000 to fix it. These guys fixed it for $500 and it is perfect!! I couldnt be any happier with the honesty of this place. They could have charged as much as the other places but they didnt. They even called me and told me what it would be for me to do it myself if I wanted to save a few more dollars!! Very happy! Not often do you have people to be so honest in this industry! Will definitely come back if ever needed.

I was told by the GMC dealer that I would need to pay $4000 plus to replace my transmission in my 2010 Denali. I was referred by a friend to have Mr Transmission look at it and they rebuilt it better than new for nearly half what the dealer wanted and they gave me a two year warranty. Their service was very professional and they had my truck back to me in just three days where the dealer said it could take a week and a half or longer. While there they also replaced my radiator, water pump, and belts only after showing me the crack in the radiator, the leak in the water pump and how badly worn the belts were. I cant say enough about how well they took care of my vehicle

I am a mechanic. Work on engines . I have taken my own cars to Mr t for years . Have recommended them for years also . Took a friend there yesterday for a no shift problem. Thinking a rebuild. End up a linkage problem he was very happy Geore & Danny are great

It pains me to write a poor review of this shop because Tim, the owner seems like such a good guy. I give this place a 1 only because he has worked with us to remedy the problems we have had with the rebuilt transmission, albeit it was like pulling teeth at times to get things done. Long story short, the first rebuilt transmission they put in completely failed during a road trip while still under warranty. We paid to have the vehicle towed about 150 miles back to the shop and get repaired. Once we got the vehicle back about a week later, the transmission started slipping. So we returned the vehicle to once again be repaired. The transmission was then rebuilt for a second time. A few weeks after, the service engine light comes on while we are in another state with scan codes indicating more transmission issues. At present time, only after threatening to file a claim with the BBB, we have finally worked out an agreement to get the transmission repaired by another Mr. Transmission with Towing included at no cost to us.Update: Over a year later and we are still having issues with the transmission slipping. The warranty is now up and we are having to fight to get the repairs covered even though the transmission has been taken apart and put back together twice since we had the original job done, and after 6 visits to Mr. Transmission. Please, please take your vehicle somewhere else to get transmission work done.

Wow, what a great staff. They described what needed to be done how long it would take and then preformed just as they said they would. Danny, is a great person to work with and this is a place you can trust.

I was having problems with my transmission not wanting to shift while I was on expressway, the RPMs were running at a dangerous high when going above 40 mph, with it being a car I only have had for a week I thought the worst! So the guy checked on it, come to find out my transmission fluid was very low and all he did was add about a quart and I was on my way with a perfect running car again.

I brought my vehicle to this shop after my car would no longer accelerate in Drive and was given an estimate of $2,407.00 that included an entire transmission rebuild. When I asked if they could simply replace the broken part, I was told the only thing they could do is replace the entire transmission.I then went to Murphys auto garage (about 15 minutes away) and was given an estimate of $450.00, I had the work done at this second shop and have had no issues since. I was told all I simply needed was a new drum for my transmission. BEWARE before bringing your vehicle into this shop, they are by far the most predatory mechanics garage you can find.

HORRIBLE! Took my Explorer there on a Monday afternoon on Thursday they call at 3:30ish to tell me someone has stolen the tires and rims off the passenger side of my car and it was sitting on blocks. Mr T had not worked on my car yet and had parked it behind their building. Apparently they never go back there cause no one knew until late afternoon that they were even stolen. And NO they are not paying for anything. Never even offered to pay even half. Only that “we are not responsible “. Well yes my car was in your care custody and control and you parked it behind your building next to a dumpster and a big truck. Had I know on that Monday that they weren’t going to work on it all week I would have kept it in my own garage.Beyond frustrated!!

Honest establishment, the service was great and fast. They ran a test to see what really was wrong with my transmission not trying to replace the whole thing that would have cost a few grand, with them running the test they found that it was a simple fix and it was under a grand to repair.

This is the worst place I have ever seen my Daughter only ended up there because it messed up going down the road They charged almost 1800,00 and the car was not fixed it wouldn’t go so we had to rent a U-Haul trailer and tow it 6 hours if the car was fixed we wouldn’t have had to tow it come to find out what was wrong was covered by the Ford company so she should have never had to pay this They should have reffered her back to the Ford company you do not do people this way it’s wrong and they will not respond to my calls and it would not drive until the Ford company fixed it!!

Wouldnt recommend this shop. Told us they could give us a close estimate for our Saturns trans for under one hundred dollars. They called us the next day and said it would be $500 and some change to figure out the problem. Day three they called us said the problem could be fixed for $1200 to $1600. So much for the close estimate. We gave them the go ahead, as we already had close to $600 in the repair. Two days later they called and said they had found yet another part in the trans that needed to be replaced and the final total would be $2500. Avoid this shop.

Went in for minor transmission work. Great customer service, knowledgeable and friendly crew. Went above and beyond to be sure our family vehicle was save to drive.

HORRIBLE PLACE OF BUSINESS, if you can call it a business. TAKE THEM TO COURT..Even if you lose it will build up a paper trail so the JUDGE will see there face and start to BELIEVE the people of their accusations!!! The (Baxter Ave.) location is a joke. They lied to me to get my vehicle in their shop from another shop. They told me that the inspections where free if I got it toed in due to my car not being able to move. Then the Manager, Mike, said they will go in to repair my transmission and it will cost $750 plus any additional parts they find they need. Also stating that $750 will include labor and everything else. The Manager, Mike, stated that. Which I thought that was extremely cheap, but thought since they were experts they could fine a way to go in there and replace parts without having to do to much. Then the next day they call me back and tell me that they couldnt repair the transmission and needs a new one. Told them I didnt want them to work on car found someone cheaper. Now, out of no where I owe them $750 for an inspection that was suppose to be free. When I went up there they lowered it to $375 because I quote Ohh I thought we towed it in so were going to take off half of the inspection cost since we didnt tow in your car. I was like what??? So now I guess Im going to have to sue them because thats not right for them to be so deceptive and bold face lie!! Most horrible experience Ive every had. Its a shameful place of business. As I was leaving the guy accepted $5 for airing up this ladys tire..SMH

I had my Cabrio worked on. They fixed my clutch. Its running great the service for Danny was great. Called when it was ready. They did a nice job.

Please read this before you take your car to this particular Mr. Transmission. You should take your car to Mr. Transmission on Baxter Ave. and talk to George or Danny. I got a rebuilt transmission on 9/15/14 from owner Tim. Tim seemed like a good guy and gave me a 1 yr. warranty. Bring it back if you have any issues, is what Tim said. The car was my sons car and we got it for him before he was 16. So it sat for a while, actually we only put 380 miles on the before is he able to drive. On the week that he was granted his intermediate license the transmission went out again. I had it towed back to Tims place, at least I thought it was still Tims place. While it was being towed I called Mr. Transmission at Huntsinger and a new owner answered the phone named Mark Macan. To make a very long story short, my sons car sat in front of the Huntsinger Lane Mr. Transmission for 4 weeks going untouched, and the owner stated he cant afford to fix the problems and he would be filing bankruptcy. If it were not for me contacting the corporate headquarters customer relations I would still be fighting this warranty battle. The corporate headquarters sent me to the owner of Baxter Ave. who has owned his stores since 1985, and they took awesome care of my car. Good luck.
