Ive found D&S to be super helpful and very knowledgable. They were willing to go the extra mile to research how to do the best and longest lasting repair. I had major work done on my truck. Its clear they care about the quality of their work more than a making a quick buck. While they had my engine apart they went ahead and fixed some other minor issues which was great. Cost came in lower than expected. Will use them again.

I’m SO glad I found D&S when I did! I was in a pinch when my Chevy’s water pump started leaking and they really saved my butt. Not only are their prices better than any other shop I’ve found in the Louisville/S Indiana area, but they are respectful, have great customer service, and provide even better automotive service. Did I mention that they don’t try to screw anyone over?! They’re hands down the most honest and knowledgeable shop I’ve ever worked with. Take your vehicles to D&S! YOU WONT REGRET IT!!

Had a very close to catastrophic engine event causing failure of the complete lubrication system. Quickly and accurately diagnosed and repaired, although considerable delay by dealer in flashing the computer to take engine out of failsafe mode. ( Yes, one of those vehicles where the software is not shared outside dealer network.) Scott stayed on top of the dealer to complete the job, and called them out when initially told engine replacement was necessary. Cant recommend highly enough!

Really pleased with the work that was performed. Prices are well and within reason. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that they didnt communicate well - I initiated the call for the estimate, and I called to discover it was ready for pickup.

I had a lot of work done on my truck at another mechanic and after I got the truck back, it just didnt drive right. It had a hard time picking up, shifting gears, and there was no power. I took it back to the original mechanic who said everything seemed fine but I felt the truck acting differently. I took it to Mr. Transmission for a second opinion as I thought it was a transmission issue and ultimately they referred me to D&S as it was not. D&S looked over the truck and noted it was an easy fix and fixed it within the day! I dont typically trust mechanics but these guys were professional and definitely trustworthy. Thank you guys for fixing my truck.

Had work done to a vehicle. Work was performed as requested no problems. Was told needed to do brakes. Went to do brakes the next day and having trouble getting lugs off.. put a torque wrench on and they was on there from 150-180 pounds.. over double spec. Now not a problem for me but it’s my wife’s vehicle how in the world is she going to get a tire off that I could barley get off. Oh and cross threaded one of the lugs and had to literally cut it off for 4 hours.. not saying don’t go here not bashing any worked performed. Just questioning the knowledge of the mechanics and to why they would think it’s ok to do that. Will not be returning.

This place is great. I started taking my cars here a few years back based on word of mouth, and I have yet to be disappointed. I have had the guys at D & S work on 3 cars over a few years now, and I always bring my cars back for anything else. They are always so kind to give me advice and input on what the problems are, what the best solution is, the cheapest solution is, and the give warnings on how to avoid problems in the future, or how to prevent similar problems in the future.They have always checked over my car for free, and told me the problems and costs of fixing these problems, then I can walk away without paying anything if I dont think its worth the cost. They will also tell you cheaper less ideal options if you want to save money but still get the job done for the time being. They know not every customer is looking to keep their car for life, and just needs something to take them from point A to point B. They go over all options with the customer to find whats right for them. When I decide I do want them to do the work, or get parts for me, they are usually very fast getting work done same day or next day at this point (unless its a major overhaul or requires a super rare part).They can be very busy since they are so good and great to work with, so I suggest calling ahead if you can plan on dropping a car off at a certain time. This will speed up your process even more.Theyve never been anything other than overly helpful and looking out for whats best for the customer. They never pressure you into anything, and always give you options, or you can even walk away without feeling pressured or guilty. Ive never been lied to or tricked into paying for unnecessary repairs (like I have at other service shops). These guys are amazing, and me, my wife, my parents, and my sister all go to D & S now due to their great customer first attitude, knowledge, quick work, and honesty. I recommend them to anyone looking for an honest mechanic in Louisville. I no longer live in Hikes Point, but still go out of my way to take my cars there.

I wanted to share something that happened several years ago. Someone had referred me to Daniel right about the time the shop was opening. Actually the shop was not officially opened yet. I lived in Lexington but drove to Louisville every week. My Ford focus was making a terrible noise under the hood. Daniel said if I brought it to his house he would look at it for me. Me and his wife and little baby hung out while he took it for a test drive. He told me what the problem was. Apparently my entire engine was being held in my ONE bolt. He could have told me anything really but his honesty touched me. Not to mention he did not even want to charge me to fix it. I did pay him. Because I felt like he prabably saved my life. I never hesitate to tell everyone about him and his shop.

I can’t say enough about the guys at D & S! I took my car to them with a major electrical issues of unknown origin. They could’ve easily told me every electronic part needed to be replaced because my airbags were not working, my ABS was not working, my remote entry wasn’t working and the list went on. Instead,for less than $400 they were able to come clean the parts where the corrosion had happened from water damage from a leaking windshield and get me back on the road! This is the only place to ever take your car!

My brother was a mechanic and serviced my car for years. When he switched professions I struggled finding a mechanic that I trusted.These guys do a good job and are real and honest people. These are the types of people I trust with my car. Youll get an honest opinion and an honest price. Cant ask for more.

Cannot recommend.I have taken 2 vehicles there multiple times and experienced numerous issues including the fix not working and poor communication.Spent several thousand dollars and still having the same problems as when I drove in.

The best experience Ive had at a garage in Louisville. This place must stay busy, but they had all the work I needed finished within one day. They replaced my IAC valve because I had problems with my idle, after I had replaced everything I could think of... Anyways, the cost of my repair came in well below the amount I thought I would spend. They only fixed what I needed fixed and they didnt give me a runaround about all the other work I needed done when I dropped it off or when I picked it up. Anyways, I am definitely sticking with these guys for my auto repair needs from this point forward. If you are having reservations about where to take your car, no need to look any further.

I am shocked to see all these positive reviews about price and service from here. When I went in for and estimate they told me that it was going to be near A thousand dollars because I drove a Jetta which they told me are crappy cars. I told them I think about it took it to Harpers automotive which is literally a few miles away and they fixed it for under 200.
