We didn’t end up using AAMCO, but only because the incredible honesty and integrity of its staff.We scheduled an appointment to get our transmission checked out, but was called back by someone at the shop who let us know they were fairly certain the very random issue we were experiencing with our car was covered under a not well known manufacturers recall.We would have NEVER known! They even directed my husband to the exact recall and because of this, we were able to get the repair completely covered by Honda.It was such a blessing to not have to worry about the financial cost of the repair, and we are so thankful for the guys at AAMCO and their knowledge and integrity!

I visited this AAMCO after dealing with at least 4 different places in the last few months that all made me feel as if all mechanics were just going to be untrustworthy. However Jeff and his team definitely proved to be different than any of them. He was honest, he didn’t try to sell me more things or encourage me to get more things fixed then what I actually needed, I felt like my car was thoroughly looked at not just popping the hood and glancing at things, he always returned my calls and called me exactly when he told me he would, he had diagnosis and repairs done in the exact time frames he said they would be done, he took time to answer any questions I had, explained things in detail, and never had an attitude or acted as if my concerns were stupid or treated me as if I didn’t know anything at all about a vehicle like the other places had! He truly has no idea how much I appreciate that because we have been looking for someone we could actually trust to fix a few different vehicles for over a year now. I definitely recommend this place especially if honesty is a top priority for you. I have never written a review before but I had to say something about this place. Probably the best service Ive ever gotten from a mechanic. I initially visited another spot, where they quoted me almost four thousand dollars and recommended a new transmission, clutch, etc. I went to AAMCO for a second opinion. They did not disappoint. After basically telling me that the first shop was either completely dumb or trying to scam me, they had me bring my vehicle over. They diagnosed the issue and fixed it within hours and for less than 1/4 of the price. Very impressive.Moral of the story: Always get a second opinion! But if I had to choose only one auto mechanic it would be this one.

The mechanics and staff at the St Matthews AAMCO are not only great at their job, but more importantly they operate with integrity and honesty-something that is hard to find these days. I had them look at my vehicle several times due to mechanics at other companies telling me that I had major/expensive repairs that needed to be preformed.When I called Jeff at AAMCO to tell him the issues, he was always reassuring, and usually able to get my car in to be looked at the next morning. Both times that I had AAMCO evaluate my vehicle for repairs another company told me needed to be done urgently, AAMCO mechanics did a thorough inspection, and found nothing to be wrong with my vehicle. They took the time to explain and show my why I didn’t need any repairs, and did all of this patiently and in a very reasonable amount of time. They could have easily went along with the repairs the other companies told me were needed, just to make money-and I would not have known better. I’m very appreciative of their honesty because I don’t have money for car repairs, but will make sure to spend the money for oil changes and other maintenance at AAMCO, because they are now the only people I trust to work on my car.Also, they adhered to all Covid-19 precautions, and my vehicle was clean when it was returned to me. Smooth process! Made an appointment for a Transmission service, inspection & fluid change at 82k. Dropped off, 1 day completed and ready when promised. Happy to say no problems found & that’s what preventative maintenance is the end result. I’m a returning customer with a different vehicle and each time same result. After a good long while from the warranty company, they actually took care of my transmission in a timely manner. One thing I did not like was the fact that the front Ford emblem on the grill of my vehicle was blue when it was taken in. When I picked it up it had been somehow replaced by an older dilapidated silver emblem. I called them and asked if they exchanged my Ford emblem, the manager stated that they did not.

Jeff was professional and answered all my questions. I will be telling all my friends about the quality work I received. AAMCO is now my go to shop for all my repair needs.

Being new to the area, we did not know who to call when our car transmission died. Knowing Aamco strictly form a national brand we selected the Amamco on Breckenrdidge. Jeff, the manager was great. This place was a ripoff. Ran a diagnostic test in my truck, told me it was the battery after keeping my truck for almost a week. Bought another battery (hybrid battery) for over 2500.00 and the truck still didn’t run. The shop tried to charge 5600 for a battery!!! Afterwards they stated they told me this was where to start. There is no way I would “start” with a 2500 dollar battery. Rip-off..they will be reported!!!

I went to have my transmission checked as recommended by a Goodyear mechanic. I left the car at AAMCO and the advisor called me later. He informed me that the transmission was okay but the spark plugs and timing belt needed to be replaced. He gave me a quote of over $1,200.00. I returned to Goodyear and they informed me that according to their diagnostic tests, the spark plugs and the timing belt were fine. However, I decided to have the spark plugs and timing belt replaced since they were due to be replaced. It cost me $500.00.The lesson I learned, AAMCO has highly inflated prices.

When I contacted AAMCO they immediately gave me an appointment. The indoor seating is obviously closed due to COVID-19. When I told Jeff that I would be waiting on my car, he recommended places where I could sit down and eat. He was very professional complimented me on the upkeep of my car and I will be returning for other services. Highly recommended!

They did the job on my air conditioner compressor over a week ago and it’s working fine. That is the only reason why I give them two stars. Rest of it is 1 Star.I drop off my car for a sound, and burnt smell from the compressor. They take a look at it and get the job done.I did a late evening pickup after the store was closed. This is when things change. When I pick up the car after spending $1600 my car sounded like a tractor (this wasn’t there when I dropped off the car, not to say that they did anything to my car. It might have been just coincidence) I call them the next working day and they said it’s an exhaust problem and that it was on the receipt and I will have to pay another $400 ish to fix it. Mind you I only got the receipt when I pick up the car.So when they took a look at my car and called me to get my approval to work on it for $1600 never mentioned a word about an exhaust problem or that my car is gonna sound like a tractor.I would assume as a car shop that looks at the car and finds a problem you would mention it to the customer and tell them that you found these problems and probably need to get it fixed. Well, they didn’t! I find that shady.It doesn’t end there. So since I found that shady, I took my car to a different place for the exhaust problem and the guy there said it was a broken flange on the exhaust and will cost $40. 10 minutes later, my car was fine and I saved $360.Update: sometime in December my air conditioner stopped working. I called to schedule an appointment to get that looked up and they insisted they needed a warm day to look at it. Waited till spring to get another appointment and they won’t take a look at the car unless I drop it off for the day.They finally take a look at it and now want $440 more to replace condenser which apparently was the only thing that didn’t get replaced last time. Hence, no warranty. I regret every single penny I paid to this place back in August or so. Please save yourself from wasting your money at this place. They don’t have ethics, customer service or honesty! Most places should have replaced condenser along with a failed compressor to prevent debris from faulty compressor causing damage to condenser. Now the condenser started leaking and air conditioner doesn’t work again.

This is the best auto shop Ive ever been to! So friendly, honest, and trustworthy... They tell you clearly what needs to be done and what doesnt. I sent my son there with his car after I had such a good experience there and he liked them also. I highly recommend this place!

I found Jeff very helpful in understanding how the purchase and installation of a new hybrid battery for my Prius would work (although it was actually pretty straightforward, I was nervous because of the amount of money involved). He was very easy to communicate with on several occasions, and accommodating in scheduling me so that my wait while the work was done was as short as possible. By the time I committed to having the work done, I felt I was in good hands, and that proved to be true. Id recommend AAMCO in St. Matthews.

I had an all round, great experience. Jeff and his crew did a great job. I can’t tell you the last time I received such great service for an oil change. Last time I been somewhere they were rude and unprofessional. Jeff was easy to talk to and professional. Actually he was beyond that, he treated you like a friend. He even helped me figure out my key fob. This will be my official stop for my oil change and any other mechanical issues.I don’t do a lot of ratings, but if I do. I will always give a five star if I feel like the service deserve it. I don’t just hand these bad boys out like candy, I’m very picky on who and how I rate business.

Initially, when I was having transmission issues, I thought AAMCO was a great place to help me seeing as I have zero car knowledge and they offer free inspections. When I brought it in, I told them my car was bumping every time I shifted gears and when I hit a certain speed and I just wanted to confirm if it was the transmission and I needed to start looking for a new car. They looked at it for a week and told me it was the TCM and that it would be $1000 but then the problem would be solved. I was desperate and trusted them so I agreed to pay for the part. When I picked it up they told me the car would act the same for 600-700 miles until the car got used to such a vital, new part. Instead, I saw the issue getting worse and I had to bring it back in. They kept my car for almost another week and finally came back saying it was the transmission which is what I had said initially. Now I was down $1000 and they were telling me a new transmission would be thousands more. I was maxed out on their financing, and I didnt understand how they had done the same checks they said they did before and came up with a different answer. Long story short, they just tried replacing parts until they were faced with the fact that it was the transmission. They told me the first part they replaced fixed the initial issue, which never went away, and that this was a new issue with a new cost. I felt like I was being taken advantage of when they knew I had little money and few options. I will not be trusting AAMCO with my car again.

I wasnt sure what was going on with my Yukon so i had it towed out there and asked them to look at it and see if they could find the problem. They looked over everything before telling it had to be something internal on my transmission. The service manager was amazing answering all my questions and helping me find the financing to get it fixed ASAP so i could get back to my daily routine. It took about a 10 business days for it to be done, but ive had it back for almost 2 weeks and had no problems at all! I would definitely recommend!

Initially had issues with the lack of detail of a diagnostic performed on my hybrid. However, after talking with the owner he got in touch with the tech and was able to provide me with a more detailed description. Overall satisfied.

I tried 3 different places to have my car fixed at and none of them could figure out what was causing it to die at just about every stop light. Right before deciding to just buy a new car I gave Jeff and his crew at AAMCO a shot and lucky for me they were great at what they do. They even saved me $300 repairing a part instead of replacing it. Cant recommend these professionals enough!

I have been beyond stressed about my truck not working. So I decided to take a chance after visiting 2 other places and give AAMCO a shot in fixing my truck. The manager Jeff was beyond amazing. He called me everyday to keep me updated on my vehicle and didn’t try to oversell me or talk me into anything extra I didn’t feel comfortable with. He even used the quote if you were my daughter this is what I would tell you to do. That meant a lot to me, I don’t know a whole lot about cars. So to have someone be honest and straightforward is always great to have. I will be taking my vehicle here from here on out to be worked on. They quoted me the job, but when it was over it came in cheaper than quoted. he said it was due to not needing a part they quoted before doing the service, they said it was perfect and didnt need replacing.. saved me 30 bucks. I appreciate stuff like that, very honest. They got the work done about 30 minutes quicker than he estimated. Overall I couldnt be happier and my car is driving great. I will be backUpdate: I went back, and had the exact same experience as before. Job ended up being about 20 bucks less than quoted, I had even mentioned of a small noise I was hearing during certain shifting and they cleared that up with a fluid change. They were ready for the car at the exact time I dropped it off and had it back to me in 2 hours. Terry is the best, explains things very clearly and always makes recommendations but dont push to get them done, and he will tell you how long you have before a failure of said parts. Love the service I received from AAMCO. Their customer service (Jeff!) is awesome. They fit us into their schedule and got everything taken care of the very next day! Save yourself time and money and go to TransS Go around the corner in Lyndon. These Aamco guys, the store manager in particular, give poor service, and are professional time-wasters. After asking me to bring my car back several times in 3 hour increments, the store manager finally turned red in the face and refused to service my vehicle wasting a total of 6 hours to do nothing. TransS Go on the other hand had me diagnosed in minutes and serviced in under a day. Waste time and money if you want or gitrdone for better quicker and CHEAPER elsewhere.

So happy with my experience at AAMCO on Breckinridge. I have a Toyota Prius Hybrid and initially called the dealership over a battery problem. Their cost was outrageous and the customer service was awful. After researching my options, I decided to call AAMCO. Jeff was super helpful and the techs were knowledgeable about my vehicle and what I needed. Was in and out fast, with quality service.

Used Aamco through repair pal since the dealership was on a long wait list. They got me in quickly, diagnosed and repaired before the other shop could even give me a drop off date. The customer service that Jeff officers is one of the best I’ve experienced. I would definitely use them again, even without my extended warranty.

I have a 05 Mercury Mountaineer & I had changed the plugs & wires myself but afterwards was running even worse than it was before the tune up. I changed a couple other things that I thought would remedy the code it was throwing (misfire in cylinder 6) but to no avail. It was running but rough. I called & spoke with Jeff who was personable & helpful & even though it was late in the morning he said that they would be able to at least look at it & give me an idea of what was wrong with it. By the end of the day they had called with a cause for a part of the problem & ordered the part. By the next day it was fixed & what I thought was gonna cost me a substantial amount turned out to be under 150! These guys are honest, fast, friendly, & knowledgeable! For a mechanic shop you cant ask for anything more! I wont go anywhere else having now seen how car maintenance should be run!

I was initially referred to AACMO through family members so I expected the service to be good..but it was GREAT!!! I primarily worked with Jeff and he was very professional, prompt to communicate and fair. I left feeling like I got a great deal on my new brakes and a new go-to Machanic! Overall, great experience.
