I had a wreck almost a month ago and had no idea where to go or what to do. My insurance was great but when it was time to choose a place for the repairs I had no clue. After some research I heard of Jim Maydens shop and decided to give them a try since the word of mouth was better than the Google reviews, and we all know that when people are angry they can be a little relaxed with the details.I had my car picked up and towed over to Jims Shop and they took it from there. They communicated through out the whole process and let me know exactly what was happening with my car. I never had any issues with them or the insurance company communicating with me, even when the other insurance company of the driver that hit me took over the claim. They were done very quickly; two weeks after the wreck, and it looked like nothing happened to it at all. They also guarantee all the work they do for life. You cant beat a place like this. I will go here again for sure, though I hope its not due to another wreck (would be my luck though).I cant say anything but thanks and good job. Excellent and friendly place to go if you are in need of a good body shop.

Great body shop! We have been taking our cars there for over 20 years and would not go anywhere else for our auto repair needs.

Actually 0/5 stars because Jim didnt fix anything and caused more damage to my brand new car.A lady accelerated in reverse and hit the front of my parked car that I had for less than a week. Liberty Mutual was her insurance, and they said I needed to take my car to one of their approved body shops, and the closest was Jim Mayden in Louisville. Jim, himself, did the estimation a couple weeks earlier on 9/3. He wasnt very thorough, and he didnt acknowledge what needed fixed specifically. He simply said hed get it all fixed and went back inside. I felt the need to be sure he saw all the damage, so I went back inside his shop and asked him if he saw all the scruffed paint. He said yes, and he said he was going to fix that and replace the whole plastic trim, which he said he was ordering. He didnt say anything about replacing only the chrome piece. He kept assuring me hed get it all fixed, and he said he would call on Tuesday because theyre closed on Monday for Labor Day. I never heard from him for nearly two weeks. I called him on Monday, the 19th, and spoke to someone who said Jim was on lunch and was clueless about my claim. He had Jim call me. When Jim called me, he asked for Commonwealth of Dodge. I said this isnt them, and he said wrong number. He called me right back and apologized for the mix up. He told me to take the estimation he emailed me to another body shop, and I questioned him because he told me he was ordering the part to fix it. He acted confused that I was getting it fixed there. He said to bring it on in whenever is good for me. He said I had to drop my car off at 8 am for same day service. I said Id drop it off between 10 and 11 am on 9/23, and he said it would be ready to pick up on 9/24 and would call me to confirm its ready, but he never called just like the last time he said he would. I made arrangements with my parents to get a ride rather than use a car rental.Today, on 9/24, when my parents gave me a ride to pick it up, we saw that literally nothing had been fixed and more damage was actually done at the body shop. The original scruffed paint was still there. He said he buffed the bumper and replaced the chrome piece, but it was more scratched up than the original chrome piece, and the original scruff marks were still there, too. He had told me he was replacing the plastic trim, which needed to be fixed, but it hadnt been replaced. Additionally, there were two new chips in the paint on the left and right side of the bumper, and they were worse than the original scruff marks suggesting he possibly tried to buff too hard. We also noticed a large scratch on the back of car that wasnt there previously. We showed it to him, and he said he didnt see anything at first. Finally, he acknowledged it. He said it would come right off, so I said fix it now then. He got something to buff it, but it didnt come off, so he said Id need to leave my car to get it all fixed up on Monday. I was furious and informed him that he wouldnt be putting another finger on my car, and I work tomorrow. He proceeded to say hes closed now so he cant do anything about it, but kept saying to drop it off next week and used his line, Ill get it all fixed up. I said Im going somewhere else. He said he hadnt billed Liberty Mutual yet, and I said you better not because you didnt do anything and made it worse. I left a voicemail for the Liberty Mutual agent working on my claim, and I suggested they reconsider using that body shop because my experience was awful. Worst service Ive received in my life from all types of services. Either Jim is crooked or he has terrible eyesight. Do not go there!!

Jim Mayden BAITED me with a $1264 quote to repair my bumper and tail light. AFTER I dropped my car off he reached out to my insurance company through my rental company and requested my insurance companys quote. Once he found out my insurance company quoted the car at $1764 thats what he tried to charge me saying he put extra parts on the car. And also that they had a contract with Liberty Mutual (the company of the man who hit me) and since my insurance paid for it would be more. Okay well which is itu? Did you add additional parts (that I did not authorize him to put on) or do you have a contract with Liberty Mutual? Regardless, both of these situations are illegal. In the state of Kentucky, a shop cannot add parts without your authorization and they also cannot just jack up the price for no apparent reason. I had to call an attorney! After he realized that he couldnt get away with it he offered to take the extra parts off and put the old ones back on for the original quote. Will be consulting with a lawyer to see if this shop can be cited/fined for baiting because thats exactly what he did! THEN, I get in my car and see that over a HALF A TANK OF GAS had been driven out of my car and the substitution bulb in my tail light has come on because he did not install the tail light correctly. After spending $1264 to get my vehicle fixed my husband had to bring it home and work on it. STEER CLEAR OF THIS SHOP!! Go anywhere else!Update: Trunk now leaks from the shoddy work they did. 0/5 stars. They left two clips out of the trunk seal and caused leaking.Edit: In re: to the companys post.Lets get one thing straight. I DID NOT PROVIDE YOU WITH AN ESTIMATE FROM MY INSURANCE COMPANY!!! You deceitfully and underhandly went behind my back to obtain that estimate after you had already given me one! You called Enterprise and when they protected my privacy and refused to give you my insurance companys name (since the insurance company wrote ME a check, not you). Enterprise told you they would contact my insurance company and have them call you. My insurance company breached my privacy by disclosing the amount of money they paid ME again, NOT you. You were paid by a money order that came from my bank account, not by a check from the insurance company. Additionally, my Mercedes is bought and paid for. There is no lein. That means I decide what parts do and do not go on my vehicle. Not you and not the insurance company. You quoted me at $1250. Thats what I told you to do. The split second that you found out that I, the owner of the vehicle, NOT YOU the shady body shop, was paid $1750, you decided you wanted to make an easy $500 and told me the day I picked my car up that oh by the way we put extra parts on your car. Now its going to cost you an extra $500. In the state of Kentucky it is illegal to put parts (which Im sure there were no parts. That was just your shady excuse to pull an illegitimate business move) on someones vehicle without their consent. You pulled a ILLEGAL, deceitful stunt and you got caught. Be honest for once and own up to it! Stop trying to make excuses. Be a man. I remember you saying that God doesnt want me to argue with you. Im sure God doesnt want you to lie and steal either but that is exactly what you did. You will be in my thoughts and prayers Mr. Mayden. I am sorry for whatever struggles you, your family and/or your business are suffering that you felt the need to do that to a young college couple right before the holidays. But whatever it is, I pray that you find relief and that you become a better man and business man.
