My first time I went to this grocery shop was with a friend. We couldnt find her Asian sauce shes been looking around the city, and luckily, this store has it. The young lady was very helpful and got her sauces and spices my friend needs. After that day, we often shop here, especially for Asian spices. Such a great place!
Very good bbq chiken, beef and pork on weekends
This is a small and modest place with only 6 tables or so. We shared a grilled fish dinner. Good sized portion and delicious. Got a side of mole sauce to put on the rice and dip the chips and it was great. Update: Went for a second time and tried out the Barbacoa (Lamb) taco. Very nice tender stewed lamb!
Ok
Great tacos.
I love it here nice place to shop and the employees are Very nice. The store looks clean and organized every time I go.
Place is horrible. I dropped by about 8 pm at night and I literally stood there in the middle of the establishment with no one around me for a good 10 minutes. I couldve just taken the register and no one would of seen me. I needed to specialty Mexican items and this was one of the few places that was open that late. two stars simply because they were open when no one else was but minus 3 stars for being open with not a single soul to help customers.
My family and I are locals in the area have been coming here for years best MOLE EVER. Everything always fresh.. Service awesome!
Great place for quality meat. They BBQ every Sunday and my girlfriend loves it. If you like meat, cooked or cook yourself, this is the best place on the westside.
A hidden gem! The lamb burrito was hands down the best. Ask for the sauce on the side. Guacamole and chips are sooo fresh. I finished the food before I could even take a picture :)
Really like this place. Their food is very good. They have BBQ on the wknds. Amazing food at good prices.
Girlfriend and I had been meaning to check this place out for several months, as we frequently drive by. Finally found an evening that we had plans in the area. We came by on a quiet Monday night with nobody else in the restaurant so we were initially wary, but we quickly discovered that the place is excellent! The chips are very light-textured and the salsa is smoky with a little heat and the guacamole is very flavorful. The fish tacos (they ran out of chile rellenos) were fantastic and everything was super fresh. We will definitely be going back!
Best BBQ on saturdays and now Sundays. Santa Maria seasoning. No bbq sauce. Healthy. They sale avecados too.
Food was wonderful the owner came by and chatted with us nice guy nice food love the place
Thank you Juan and the staff for being so accommodating to us this evening. The restaurant was hosting a private event unbeknownst a nosotros. We arrived ten minutes before close, looking for some tacos after seeing the good recommendations on yelp. I would have completely understood being turned away at the door under these circumstances however Juan received us with open arms. While we waited for whatever tacos were available, Juan offered us complimentary beverages, bbq chicken, and ribs. Wow! They had been smoking the meats out back, though We now know they have a bbq every Sunday from 10:30am -1pm. Well be sure to come back for that, as well as check out their other location in Santa Monica.I am completely shocked at the monumental generosity of this place. You will be hard pressed to find such hospitality these days in this city or anywhere.
Superb service, plenty of food and tasty too, best coffee Ive ever had away from home, definitely will be back again
We are so thrilled that we can get such authentic, delicious Mexican food here on the West Side. This place could be hiding my Mexican grandma back in the kitchen, its so real-deal! My husband and I went back last night. He had the green chicken enchiladas and loved it, and I had the special: Bistec a la Mexicana. I was blown away! Try Don Felix soon, and dont be afraid to try stuff youve never had before. You wont be sorry. Im giving it a 5 star, since it does everything it sets out to do in my opinion. :)
Great meat plus every Sunday they bbq
Great al pastor tacos. But the real gem is the barbecue master who only works outside the shop on Sundays from 1-4. The tri-tip melts in your mouth and the ribs are so good, they need no sauce. In fact, adding sauce would be an insult. He also grills a mean porterhouse.
Fantastic neighborhood Mexican market. Great marinated meat.
Great food at a great price. Nice local joint, with kind staff.
Great family owned and operated place . good food and friendly service!
Local secret - the best Mexican food is always hardest to find. This place has the best tacos!!!
I like their guacamole n chips, n their mole. Rice is freshly made.
Excellent food. Also nice store.
Excellent carniceria. Been going there for over 10 years.
Unfortunately these guys are BAD neighbors. They were playing Mariachi music so loud (on a Sunday) that I could hear it IN my apartment down the block. I asked them to turn it down because they were waking up sleeping babies in my home, and NOT only did they openly refuse, I was called a f*****g a****le to my face by the OWNER for daring to even bring up how inappropriately loud they were being. Its a shame that they dont have simple respect for the people who keep them in business. Ill never shop there again.
Good food I got the chiken plate very healthy choice very good..
Grill Chicken, pork, pork ribs is the best of the best in LA.
1. I’m in a rush, give me a one sentence summary – affordable and quality cuts of meat, perfect for grilling or preparing for dinner.2. The carniceria – my review only pertains to the carniceria, as I never have eaten at the restaurant which is attached to this market. I come to the carniceria to pick up meat for grilling and pan searing for tacos, and have always been able to find affordable and quality cuts of meat. My favorite are the al pastor ($3.99/lb), chicken fajitas ($2.99/lb), and chorizo ($2.99/lb). They also have a wide variety of cuts.3. 5 stars off for cleanliness – they have an open doorway and (I think) keep the back door open as well to provide circulation since they have no air conditioning, so I usually see flies and other bugs zooming around. Not the most appealing sight when I’m trying to buy food which can be exposed to these bugs.4. Location/parking – It can be easy to overlook, as it’s right on the corner of Sawtelle & Washington Pl. after you exit the 405 at Venice. They have a 15 minute parking zone right in front of the restaurant on both sides which is very convenient and helpful, especially when coming right off the 405.
