Simply put, House of Hardwood is an institution of Los Angeles - these guys have saved me multiple times. They’ve been around since 1947, and can do all types of weird custom milling. Since renovating my condo, I’ve come to them in a jam multiple times looking for custom cut pieces of wood, and the guys on the floor always work hard to ensure affordable and quality solutions. Again, can’t recommend enough! Thanks again!

Weve been going to these guys for decades now. If you love woods it is the place to go to. You can tell they love it. Prices are competitive - the work excellent. Just had a slice of Redwood trunk milled top and bottom and it turned out fantastic.

I brought a sample from a job site of a window sill, paid for the milling and lumber in advance. they said they would call me in a week, that it will be ready. I called back a week later it was not ready they said it would be ready the next day and to come in the morning. I sent my employee to go pick it up the next day, he had to wait for them to finish milling it before he could pick it up, for 45 minutes! poor service on their part! I have a service oriented business and do not operate like that

I have been going to H o H for years. They see oddball projects come in the door all the time. As long as you can articulate your project and have the money they can do most any wood fabrication. They are not a cabinet shop. They sell wood and mill it. That said I came to them with a drawing, bought the wood, chose how to book match it and they milled, biscuit joined and glued up exactly what I wanted. I then did the final finishing and assembly. The result was a dining room table that would have easily been 3 or 4 thousand more than I paid them. But be warned. This is not Home Depot.

They tried to force me to purchase a very warped unusable length of wood with my order. I walked out and will be giving my money to a less shady business. 2 stars because David was a great help, it was his shady boss who tried to scam me. STAY FAR AWAY!Response: what a liar you are sir. I NEVER asked for a discount on the rest of the order. I just wanted USEABLE lumber. The warped piece of wood was offered at 20 percent discount because of a knot that badly warped one end. Unfortunately we didnt see that the flip side of the board was also completely unusable as we were focused on the primary defect. Im not unreasonable, if I could have worked around the warps I would have taken it. The piece was unworkable garbage. You demanded that I pay for your unusable garbage if I wanted to buy the rest of the order AT FULL PRICE. So dont lie about our interaction, you have a terrible attitude and I hope people read this and steer clear of your shady business practice and lies.

First time there and had an okay but not great experience. Was looking at the scraps when a guy there said the peice I want may be between 12 to 15 dollars, he checked his computer and said it is 15, okay that alright. Then he offered to mill it down to get it thinner I said okay but I had no idea they would charge me to be honest. He ran it through and it wasnt even smooth or flat but I still said its fine since he said he didnt want to hassle the guys back there. He was ready to charge me and said total is $25 .woahhh. i said wow thats expensive and he said he is charging me for running it through the machine. I was mad inside because he never told me it would cost to run it through. It was not only scrap but he ran it twice and it still looked the same. I felt taken advantage of. At that point I still purchased it. I had my toddler and I was in a rush. I spent 25 on nothing but a small scrap of walnut. I came home and showed my husband and he said shouldve said something but i felt obligated to buy it after he ran it through the machine. Ugh. Not everyone in west LA can just spend money like that. I was more mad the guy never mentioned it would cost. Ill never go back. Lesson learned.
