The humans there, are very knowledgable and beneficial. they have been in enterprise a long time and it shows. I had a person supply me an estimate on a window and he could not have been nicer. nice antique international form of hardware shop, aid them. they may be arent too many of them anymore.
Never opened. Maybe out if business?
I FIRST STARTED BUYING AT B AND B IN 1986 WHEN I WAS 16 YEARS OLD. I AVERAGED 5 TIMES PER DAY FOR 10 YEARS. I STILL HAVE MY HAND TOOLS I FIRST BOUGHT FROM THERE TIL THIS DAY. I MISS SAM (SECURITY GUARD), SANTOS AND LADIES WORKING THE CHARGE ACCOUNTS. THE GRANDSON AND GRANDDAUGHTER GAVE ME A SHOT MANY TIMES WITH MY CHARGE ACCOUNT 14660. THANK YOU TO B AND B INCLUDING THE ACCOUNTANTS UPSTAIRS IN THE BUILDING ACCROSS THE STREET FOR EVERYTHING YOU DID FOR ME AND MY BEST FRIEND ED C. MISS ALL OF YOU AND I NOW ALMOST 34 YEARS STRAIGHT IN BUSINESS. MIKE
What was once one of the greatest independent hardware stores in the Greater LA area is now just a shell of its former self, open just a few hours two days a week. Very minimal selection. So sad to see, as Ive shopped there since the 70s. My two-star rating consists of one star for the store and another star strictly for nostalgia.
Bs, they’re not in business anymore & so they should remove themselves from the google maps right>.< instead of making people come all the way here for nothing!!
I love supporting local businesses but this place is like shopping in a hoarders dirty barn. I only needed a 1 wrench and the guy acted like I asked him for fairy dust. I hope this place gets organized soon.
Under the new owner, this hardware store is a fraction of what it once was and has very little of the items it once carried. If your looking for that special part you may not find it here. If you just need a simple part you may find it here.
I love B and B Hardware, everyone is very knowledgeable about home repairs and willing to give advice. A old fashion hardware store with great employees and they will help you solve the problem. Expert advice
Very good customer service, got my keys copied very quickly and fairly cheaply. We also bought a hat for a costume box, which I never expected to find there. :) Very nice people.
The place is empty. They now only do services and have locks and a few drawers of screws. That is absolutely all the have!
Have been shopping here for 20 years. Its a shame what has happened here. No merchandise. Down to two aisles and the few employees are the worst ones ever! Management?? There doesnt appear to have any. What a shame. This store needs to just shut it down. Save some embarrassment. Lowes is close and fully stocked with knowledgeable employees.
Ive known this place for most of my life. This is where everyones families and friends shopped in the LA area. It was always worth going to instill is. They have had to scale back given all of the pop-up big hardware stores like Home Depot, however theres nothing like the personal touch and advice and suggestions you can get by coming to this location. My favorite thing is to get my key copies made here they are inexpensive and done well and the personal interaction is always so rewarding. Parking is free and its just one of those good old fashioned feel good establishments that I hope never goes away for good.
Eeek. What happened to this place. Used to be a great hardware store. I really hope things get turned around. Selection is not what it used to be. Hope things change this is a great alternative to the mainstream big chain hardware stores.
They seemed to be remodeling or something.isles seemed very small and the stock looked old and outdated. The service could have been nicer. Things were hard to find. Sales clerk seemed more interested in the t v. Soap that was being shown. The screws we asked for and bought were the wring. L.p.
B&B hardware store is like a landmark. In business forever- has a great reputation.I read an article about it in Los Angeles Times, but never visited it. This is a place on a list to visit before I die.I have to visit it to get a feel of true and blue hardware store its unusual courtesy and old-fashioned trading.VIVA B&B !!!!
Andrew in the plumbing was super helpful. I want to install a shut off valve for my washer. B & B didnt have what I needed in stock. So he recommended where I could buy the items and also spent a lot of time with me on the phone even though I wasnt going to be a customer this time. I love B & B! They usually always have what I need. They are a one stop shop for hardware needs and he made my call worthwhile. Im very impressed, once again, with B & B Hardware. Thanks Andrew! :0)
They fixed my screen - same day service. Friendly staff.
His knowledge, passion and access resources makes him an incredible resource for the South Bay region.
This review is directed specifically at the Fourth Street location where my husband and I have been shopping for the last few years. We are both regular customers because we appreciate old school customer service. We have acquired very delicate wall hangings which require very specific hardware to put up safely and securely. We also have very unusual lighting fixtures which require special bulbs. Each time we visit the store we are assisted by very friendly and knowledgeable staff and have walked out with exactly what we needed to get the job done.I highly recommend Cole Hardware.Even with the passing of the father, the son and his staff clearly continue the tradition of quality customer service with a smile.
If you need plumbing supplies and expert service, DO NOT GO HERE!! this place is disorganized and reminds me of my uncles shed. Very dissappointed with the availability, the organization and lack of concern to help from the staff. Ill drive the extra mileage to go to another hardware next time I need things. Memorable experience.
I asked the plumbing guy for a part, they didnt have it, so he made one for me. You cant get this kind of service at Home Depot. I will be happy to give them my business again.
I love B&B Hardware! Personal and friendly service and the most fun is just walking around on the creaky wood floors and finding things that I need... or will need eventually! Theres lots of nooks and crannies to find hidden treasures and all sorts of stuff. Its my first choice for hardware stores. Go there!
Good selection and pricing. Much faster service than Home Depot!
Still a great start but store has changed
Ive gone to B&B for over 15 years (averaging 5 or 6 visits per year) while living in the neighborhood and hardly ever had to go elsewhere for what I needed. Yes, their inventory isnt what it used to be years ago, but theyre ready to order stuff theyre out of and generally very dedicated to helping find stuff/resolve issues.NOTE TO B&B: Clearly, you guys are annoying A LOT of customers with your actual store hours not matching you online posted hrs. I, too, have shown up during last 1/2 hr between 4:30 & 5pm and the store was already totally closed up with no one around. This should be easy enough to fix so ya might want to get around to this sooner than later!
Store under remodel but open. I have a door lock with lost key so went to the store for advice they spent the time to explain how to remove the lock from the door and bring it in and they would rekey it fo $10. Followed their instruction removed the block from the door and took it to the store. The locksmith cleaned and lubed the old lock and and rekyed it in about10 minutes. I was happy with the work and service and yes it was only $10.
This place is amazing. I can only say wonderful things about this place. They choose their people well because everybody in this place is knowledgeable.
Like it for picking up quick items when no time for Home Depot.
Ive gone here twice during normal business hours and they were closed. Both times their hours were different from their profile photo. Their hours change willy nilly and they dont post them online. The one time I went here and they were actually open the service was fine.
1/7/20 -Got to B&B at 10am and parked in the back, but the store gate was only slightly open. I went inside and was told that they are closed and moving things out?
I like it ALOT - the staff is extremely helpful and the store is a classic...BUT as im sure economics dictate, theyve cut inventory way down-sometimes limited choices and/or not even one of what i need. i want to stop the ending of these businesses - we will regret this loss afterward, especially when its caused by home depot who came on strong to get our attention, squeezed these small shops out, then cut service.
Place is much smaller but service is very good. Got my window repair quickly for low cost.
Wonderful local business professional friendly staff
A shadow of its once glory, however the owner has been busy day in day out putting things back together. This way culver city can have its number one mom n pop hardware store back again.
Ive been going here since 1959. Old parts for old houses are only found here. Home Depot does not have everything. Im going to B&B Monday to get some old parts that Lowes and HD dont have. Dont hate, celebrate.
Great customer service and awesome place to get hard to find parts with expert advice
Ive been shopping at B &B Hardware for at least 15 years. Customer Service is the best and I ask a lot of questions. I definitely recommend you being a customer also.
Had a key made here for a dollar! Staff was very friendly and genial. Felt treated like a local! Ill be back for sure!!
Super helpful staff. Great place to come if you have a complex problem or if you love old school Hardware stores.
I went to B&B hardware the hours posted are incorrect! this is an old sign pictured. new hours are Tues- Sat 8am to 5pm. service was great! wish they were open onMondays.
Always helpful and have what I am looking for.
I needed a particular screw and the guys at B&B were so helpful!
Very very friendly peopleVery efficient rekeying locks and screen repairNice community shop
Excellent service and work.
The knowledgeable staff found the screws I wanted fast at a low price.
Glad to know that B & B is still open, the rumor had been going around that they had closed, i have been going for years and from the great customer service to large inventory of odds and ends, especially things for the older apartment repairs in the area no one is better.. There screen repair department is second to none, I have always been satisfied and happy with the service..
Not going out of buisness (sic) Please. This place should be going out of business. Dont need to go to Home Depot? Again, what planet are you on? This place NEVER has what you need. NEVER. Dont waste your time, go straight to Home Depot. How this place manages to tenaciously hang on making $13 a day in sales is anyones guess... but hopefully when if finally succumbs it will be replaced by the hardware store it could be. If you really must shop and some mom and pop hardware store, the one on Grandview / Venice at least gets a passing grade.
Endless variety of good stuff with helpful and knowledgeable staff
Very helpful. They know their stuff and can suggest solutions to whatever esoteric hardware problem I have.
I can find pretty much any thing I want here. No need to go to home depot.
They had neither a grinding stone that can be attached to a drill bit nor a square for measuring, line drawing, etc. In addition, the employee who helped me did not seem to know much about hardware. They had to defer to someone else for help. Perhaps they were new, but it was not a great experience.
Lots of stuff and knowledgeable people to explain it.
Good place to find the Hardware you need
Love this place. Old school hardware shop with old school customer service.
Lately B B has very little l, they were suggesting to visit a hardware store on Venice Blvd
Awesome, friendly people there to help.
Shut it down, its a waste of time trying to find something
Amazing selection, friendly staff
Crazy disorganized, but the staff usually know more than in the big box stores.
Its not what it use to be, but they what i needed, thanks B&B
Customer service is bad, plus they didn’t have electrical black tape.
Thanks guys !!
Dont ever get into a business transaction with this company. You will end up working for them for free. They dont pay their bills.
The hours on the front of the store are incorrect and there are no hours posted here on Google Maps. It sucks to show up within posted hours and have it be closed. I will update my rating as soon as they changes these things.
Not a bad sized hardware store, but items out of stock and a lack of attention to organization make this place seem like a shadow of what it once might have been.
Dont get your keys made here . Had to keep coming back and returned nonfunctioning keys .
This place has a very poor selection of products.
Whatever you are looking for, you will find it at B & B Hardware.
A dying hardware store
Best in the area
Everything you need
Not finished
They have everything
What happened to this place
Not what it used to be
Super friendly and helpful. Here you can buy each screw individually and is still very good advice. For small repairs of any kind you will find pretty safe here what you need. Parking also directly behind it. Lovely again
Good place to buy paint tool
Well
