First of all Id like to say I was very surprised with this little spot in Highland Park. Having grown up in the area and now living in Lancaster I dont get to check out the new spots in HLP. As soon as I walked in the store I noticed the beauty and the cleanliness of the store. Secondly, I ordered a tuna sandwich which was SUPERB, possibly the BEST tuna sandwich I have ever had! My daughter also enjoyed the biscuit sandwich she ordered. And the Oregon Oatmeal cookie was deelish too! Needless to say next time we are in LA I will stop by to grab another sandwich on the GO! Kudos Tropicana for this fine establishment you have brought to the community.

The staff is always very friendly and helpful but most of the stuff here costs an arm and a leg. For example they charge you $8.00 for a big bottle of seventh generation lavender air freshener and they also charge you approximately the same amount for a box of seventh generation dryer sheets. I wanted to purchase two gallons of regular milk but the girls who were in charge of the store told me that they only had 2% milk. So I declined to purchase it because that milk tastes like plane water. They also charge you $7.00 for a small box of white 13 gallon bags. If you want to purchase anything from these people you have to bring quite alot of cash. They also charge you $3.00 for a small brownie on the pretext that they bake them here. In reality, I only come to this place when I am in need of white trash bags but not because I particularly enjoy it. If I ever find a cheaper place to go to where I can purchase all of these items I will forget about coming here for good.

I come here often. I always order the ice caramel latte. I absolutely love the way that ERICA makes my drink. If she doesn’t make my drink, I won’t order. She is very polite, respectful, courteous, nice, and genuine. Every time she makes my drink, I notice the 1st thing she always do is WASH HER HANDS!!! After that she continues and makes my drink to PERFECTION 👌🏾

Wow, I love this store! VERY clean. The energy feels great in here. So much organic produce. Cant beat the Intelligentsia coffee, and they have a great selection of beer and wine and feels like family in here. I just love the service and warm and fuzzies just being in here. You can sense how happy they are to be at work, you know? Its so well stocked with anything you might need -- like, I can get things like crazy glue and natural turmeric shots (which i LOVE) in the same place - not to mention... Inside the store is a deli counter called Monte 52 that serves the best gourmet sandwiches for only like $7 or $8!

This review is for the Monte 52 restaurant in the back. Love this place. Everything I have had there is fantastic. Best Cuban sandwich in LA. They make it using a sandwich press so the cheese melts and the bread gets golden brown and delicious. Its different then Portos and all their copycats, and is a similar style to the way they make Cubans in NYC.Tip: Any sandwich on their board, they will make as a salad. I recommend the buffalo chicken salad, or the Reuben salad. There are a couple sandwich shops I have been loyal to and I feel a little bad that I have not been back to them since I started going to this place.

2 years ago a burrito here cost $5. Now it costs $13. A GTS kombucha costs $7. Regular boxed chicken stock, $8. You can find cheaper prices in Beverly Hills. I, like so many residents of highland park, appreciate this place for its convenience and organic food options. But these prices are out of control, and theyre being raised by the month. Im tired of being robbed.

I got a Cuban sandwich from the back counter and it was salty as hell. It had some good taste but the saltiness overpowered the sandwich. The gentleman that served me was was friendly and polite.I bought a Hulk Juice drink from the juice counter and it was alright. The young lady that served me could have made more effort at being less monotone.I paid for my sandwich and juice bar purchases at the front counter, then sat down and ate my lunch. I noticed that they had some large watermelons $0.45 a pound and I was thinking of getting me one of those. So after eating my food I grabbed a shopping cart and went to go get some avocados and a watermelon. They were stickered Calavo and were large. I picked out three of them and I held up one of them and ask the lady at the front counter and how much they were. She said $3.50 each. At that point I was really bummed because I was going to have to put them back. I check the sticker and it didnt say anything about being organic.I grabbed a soda from the refrigerator and went to go pay, and when I get there she tells me there will be a $0.50 charge to use credit. If I had known that they charge a fee for purchases under $10 I would have paid for everything at once. I forget what I was asking the lady at the front counter but I had trouble understanding half of what she was saying and she couldnt understand what I was saying. I asked her what was the problem and she told me its because theyre music was up too loud. I told her maybe she could turn it down.My initial impression of this place was good and I was excited to get a watermelon and some avocados. Im not sure if I want to come back or not.

Great little store. Street parking only. Wonderful coffee bar with kombuca and ice cream and juices. Everything was well priced and seemed delicious (had the power juice and the matcha green eye). Monte 52 is where the sweet spot is. Infatution tips were spot on with the fried chicken sandwich, cuban, and breakfast burrito all being spectacular. Although I think my favorite was the homemade bagel that was just sitting there and looked weird but tasted amazing. Also the soup was a tad too salty for my tasty. The rest of the store is cute with lots of small options, nothing I think Id really want to come to for the shopping but great for browsing overall. Awesome little store and eager to come back!

Yes, this place is overpriced in comparison to a grocery store but thats bc its a fancy convenience store/deli/juice bar. This place reminds me of NYCs fancy bodegas- the ones you can find coconut water and kombucha, or even Meyers cleaning products. The deli in the back far surpasses any NYC bodega deli though! Theres also a juice/smoothie/icecream place on the side (but its usually closed when I stop by, as their hours are on the earlier side). I LOVE IT especially bc they still have hot cheetos.
