Ladies and gentleman, please give the cashier Maria a round of applause. Today she lost it during her shift. She spoke to her customers (about 5 in line) in a very rude way. I understand that there are long lines, shortages going on, these are stressful times. There is no reason to be speaking to the customers like dogs, unworthy, and plain out disrespectful. No matter in how much stress you are. If employees from this grocery store/chain are friends with her or know her.. please get her the help that she needs. Emotional help, Anger management help, and maybe some new tips for her to learn how to do her job. She might even need to re-do her training all over again to refresh her mind of how to do her job and speak to the customers correctly because obviously she obviously thinks that shes in a therapy session releasing her anger/stress on others. I mean.. I Would LOVE to get a job here. Who wouldnt want to talk smack about her customers as if they were in a therapy session, talk smack to the customers as if they own that grocery chain, PLUS get paid for all that?? COUNT ME IN!!! 🤣 a 2 star because some cashiers know how to do/deal with their job 👌

I come here for produce, and eggs, much cheaper than Ralphs, same company.

I like Food4Less for their reasonable prices but the workers at this location are getting sick with Coronavirus and the company doesn’t care. This particular Food4Less is in a densely populated and poor urban area which makes it a breeding ground for many types of illnesses. Unfortunately, we are going through the coronavirus epidemic and to see that there is hardly any social distancing within this store is upsetting, especially since there are tons of homeless people within the vicinity. What got me even more upset was to learn that employees are getting sick because management can’t grow a spine to enforce the wearing of masks and to maintain social distancing. I understand Food4Less doesn’t want to turn away customers, but Food4Less needs to grow a spine and protect the employees that work at that store. Even the city of Los Angeles has posted electronic signs around this particular area advising facial covers because the area is a High-Risk COVID-19 area. Food4Less needs to do better and I will not be shopping there until I know my money is going to a company that cares about their employees.

Usually pretty crowded with people, the best time to go would be Monday’s. The parking lot is rather small and shared with the Rite Aid. You might get the usual “crazy” near and around but they usually have security to limit that. Also there is a connection to the stairs/elevator that goes down to The Home Depot.

The food was great, the beef steak kabob was really juicy, and the french fries were crispy. Id definitely come again if I was in the area.

Although its located in a bad neighborhood, it does the best it can to provide good service. The prices are very affordable for the local community and there are lockers to put your valuable items as you are shopping through the store. It is very large and has a good inventory of food and bathroom essentials. It gets very busy at night but if you use the express lane the lines are not too bad. There is a large parking lot and also a direct line to call a taxi if you need one.

Rude employees and I’ve seen Roaches there plenty of times all over different types of food . Find another place to buy food because I wouldn’t trust this place

Its nothing fancy and its inexpensive. I typically go a couple times per week because I live very close to it and its super convenient. It has a pretty good selection of fresh fruits and veggies--not much organic produce, but theres some--and you can find a wide variety of fresh and dried chilies. You wont find artisanal anything here, but you will find good mainstream foods.

Large selection, low priced food, ample parking, and easy to find what I need. This is my preferred store. The outside and parking lot are not necessarily pretty nor clean, but the inside is clean. I think there prices bear Super King since all products are reasonable, not just veggies and meats.Large vegetable section and large butcher block. Big store.

Its convenient despite theyre overpriced on certain things. The store is always untidy n out front is smelly due to homelessness situation. However it can be better. Im skeptical about what I do purchase in this particular store especially the meat department n the produce area. Pls dont let my opinion discouraged ur way of shopping from this particular store. Typically identical to all the other FOOD4LESS stores. This typical store is in the same strip mall as Home Depot and Rite Aid. So this would make it pretty much a one-stop-shop where you can get Hardware plumbing from Home Depot or anything else at Home Depot and then pick up your prescriptions or anything else at Rite Aid while purchasing your food at Food 4 Less. Instead of having to drive around the entire LA area and doing errands separately. Not in the best part of town, however, it is guarded by security and the parking is ample and the place is well lit at night and your car is definitely secure for the time being that you are patronizing those companies.

Never was I so humiliated and degraded in the manner that an employee at this food 4 less did to me. I called the supermarket at 11:43PM and asked if I could still shop if I got there 5 min before they close. The employee on the phone said that yes, as long that I arrive before the doors closed. I got there exactly 6 min before they closed. Once there, at 12:03 AM on my way to grab my last item one of their employees, a security guard, who is tall, large body build and African American, screamed at me saying that “it’s time to go lady”. Hearing that scream startled and shocked me. I couldn’t believe that an employee of a large supermarket such as food 4 less would approach a customer in such manner. I told him that he shouldn’t speak to me in that way. His response was “I don’t work for free, so you got to go”. Then he proceed to using curse words at me. I cannot describe how embarrassed and humiliated I felt. I was being treated like I was nothing, while I was a customer trying to purchase their product. I shouldn’t have felt that way when going to a supermarket, I shouldn’t be treated like they are doing me a favor by “allowing” me to go there to purchase their product. I should have felt valued, I should have felt appreciated for being their customer, I should have felt welcomed, and I should have been given the best customer experience. Instead, I left the food 4 less establishment feeling like I was basically of no value to them. How can they hire a person with such a character? I can’t wrap my mind on how can a company like food 4 less be so negligent in their management as far as to let someone who is clearly disrespectful, uneducated and cruel work at a company such as food 4 less. By the standards of good customer service this is completely unacceptable. It makes me wonder now, what are really the core values food 4 less abides by? Clearly, no value at all. I will never step my foot at a food 4 less location because that traumatic experience will be with me forever. To everyone, please avoid this establishment and if you can’t or won’t, please be careful.

This bigger grocery store can be busy, but its always very well stocked. My only complaint is with the meat department... The selection of beef is really hit or miss. Its inconvenient, and inconsistent.The staff is mostly bilingual, and super friendly. I do 90% of my shopping here.The best time to shop? Early morning (7am) or late till close (10pm to 12am.)

Honestly love this supermarket, was my local one for about a year. They have everything you need and could ask for including a great international foods aisle, pastries, and meat selection. The only thing lacking is fish and cheese selection.

Produce is the lowest quality you can find. The meat counter is a war zone of miniature women. Good luck with that! The meat is hit and miss. Sometimes its good and other times its full of bones and nerves.They should have traffic monitors in the parking lot. People should not be allowed to walk through the parking lot unless they have a car. Im not sure what theyre on, but people around there constantly walk behind reversing vehicles. Theres a steady stream of pedestrians blocking exits. And everybody around there is short!Dont back up in your SUV! You will hit someone.

This place has the best customer service I had to check my schedduler to make sure I was not the trainer there lol but really meat great. They are reasonably priced. I go to them often, but after today I will never but their produce. The bundle of spinach was infested with bugs and eggs, and when I informed them I was told that the bugs and eggs were not bad and that i could come to the store to get a refund. But Im too disgusted to even touch it again.

Great variety of foods, including American and Latin American staple foods. You can even find loose yerba mate which is not a common sight in the US. This store sells items all over the price range, from alternative brands to organic premium alternatives. The store is quite big so it can get a bit challenging to find exactly what youre looking for. But, I asked the staff where to find an item and they were very friendly and helpful, walking me to it.

I dont shop grocery here. Only come by to pick up a few things from time to time during the week. Its always clean and tidy in the store. But the lines are often long. They need to open more registers.

Jam packed with frustrated, multilingual peoples, with over stuffed shopping carts. The busiest part of the store is the cashier department. Hire more cashiers. Or put more employees at the registers; rather than on lunch breaks or what have you... Other than the occasional bitchy cashier worker, (usually on register #1, female)... I love the store. Everyone is assumed a criminal and made to surrender your bags to security. Items are cheap but selection is weak compared to other large grocery stores. Checkout is always unreasonably time consuming and exhausting with huge lines winding into the store.Overall it tends to be a miserable shopping experience. I cant say I will never shop there as it is my local store but I def avoid it when possible.

This store needs some intervention from The Kroger Company.To begin, parking is a mess. In one occasion I witnessed a guy hit three cars in the lot and just take off. When it comes to getting a parking spot people are ruthless.This ruthlessness continues into the the store. Supermarket etiquette would dictate that when browsing for items you move your shopping cart to the side, so that people who would like to continue through the aisle can. However, that does not happen in this store. This is a clear disregard for other shoppers.The store is unkempt throughout.Checkout is complicated as well. I had the misfortune of being behind a woman whose grocery total was $175 but who only had $100 on her. How do you load items on your cart without calculating in your head an estimate of your total? She proceeded to load all items into her card and told the cashier that she was going to her car to retrieve additional money. She did return with the remaining money 5 minutes later.It was a little irritating that the cashier did not suspend her ticket while she went to her car and the meantime scan my items (I only had a couple of things) - it would have been the most reasonable thing to do. I did wonder if the woman did not return how much time would elapse before her transaction was cancelled altogether.

I live and work a few blocks from this grocery store, and realistically I shouldnt ever want to shop anywhere else. They have a strong selection of fresh fruits/vegetables, generally good prices, a passable bakery, and generally friendly staff. Yet I find myself frequently traveling well out of my way to stop at the more expensive Ralphs downtown. There are several problems at this store that leave me frustrated, and I think all of it comes down to managerial standards.The biggest issue is that they treat everyone like a common criminal. All bags have to be left at the front entrance -- even the Ralphs in the middle of downtown doesnt have a policy like this. The lockers at the front require special tokens, and the security guards dont have their own supply; the tokens are only available if the managers are present, and often you just have to leave your bag in an unsecured locker with the hope that the security guard doesnt get pulled away by a false alarm at the exit. The bathrooms are locked, and you have to pull one of the few, overworked cashiers to open a door. Then theres the toiletries aisle. That aisle is only open from one end, guarded by a separate checker and a turnstile to ensure maximum inconvenience if you want to make a quick trip to grab some deodorant.Which... well, theres no such thing as a quick trip anyway. Obviously a store that harbors such mistrust of its customers couldnt allow self check-out lanes. Thats out of the question. But youd wish that they could open up even half of their lanes during the after-work rush. Sometimes Ill go in to grab some fruit for breakfast, then belatedly realize that there are only two lanes open with lines that push back all the way back into the grocery aisles.I could forgive all of the heavy-handed policies if they actually improved my experience. But the store is still messier than the downtown Ralphs (even though they face a lot of the same challenges in terms of indigent population), the lines are longer, the bathrooms are gross, and you cant make it down an aisle without seeing opened and discarded groceries. Something here needs to change.
