Discovering Cookbook was wonderful as I was looking for a grocery store that sold really good non-commercial bread and this is the place in Echo Park. Also, has the most beautiful fresh organic veggies, herbs and dairy. Dry goods are specialist and perfect for a foodie treat. They have strict CV19 protocols in place so be prepared to wait your turn to shop. I totally agree with that and its worth the wait for great bread and grocery.

It was near the bus stops, taxi stands, a few blocks from the subway, and a block away from the mall. We always buy here our groceries for everyday needs. They sell hardware items, home decorations, and other home necessities, too. This place is a real-deal!

Fancy fresh neighborhood market :) petite but full of interesting goodies! I just needed some change so I got a peanut butter cookie. Flaky crumbly and nutty. Yum.There were green almonds by the counter, I was definitely intrigued and the nice lady let me try one. Its basically like the fruit version where the dry almonds we know it are enclosed in. Fruit of the almond?The almond was definitely... Milky? Anyways I loved it and probably would go back to get a lb of that cause Ive never seen it anywhere! The prices werent actually too bad but comparable to other neighborhood-y natural markets.

My favorite place to shop -- once you have their produce, youll be hooked. Dont miss the cookbook handmade biscuits in the freezer or the harissa chicken (usually comes in at 4pm).

Its very expensive here but service is amazing!! They have an incredible hot bar, salad bar and soups! The variety and quality is worth it, I prefer eating here if I forget my lunch at home. You dont have to wait like at the restaurants and food is just as good.

My wife and I love this highly curated little market in Echo Park. They dont have a ton of items but what they do have is the best. The bread is outstanding and the cheese selection is always great too. The people who work there are knowledgeable and warm. One of my favorite places to shop.

When visiting my son in Echo Park last October we went to Cookbook often for ingredients. I love this store! My favorite thing was discover Grandma and Bubb’s Bread! I even bought a sesame loaf home in my suitcase along with many other less perishable products! Great store! Beautiful produce and a lovely cheese selection! Can’t wait for my next trip back to LA!

This is the Mary Poppins bag of markets - a tiny storefront that magically has everything. The produce, bread, and fresh herbs are all incredibly beautiful and the prices are very reasonable for such a nicely curated store. I wish I lived in the apartment upstairs so I could go daily.

Amazing selection at this tiny local store but be prepared to pay out of this world prices. That being said, their produce and meat are unparalleled, an intense cheese selection, fresh breads, cooked small bites, everything you could ask for to stock a well used kitchen.
