I sent the Viva Margarita gift baskets to several co-workers, including myself. Everyone loved their baskets. The baskets brought a lot of cheer to each recipient. Florida resident here looking to send a custom wine basket to a friend in Pasadena. Discovered Mel & Rose from a google search and called the store for more information. My only requests were for a specific wine and an assortment of charcuterie. Anna did an amazing job suggesting items and having the basket assembled. I paid for it sight unseen, but was truly stunned by the end product (see attached photo). Great job Mel & Rose, and great job Anna. 10/10 would buy from this location again!

This was not my first time visiting this lovely place. I have the same experience every time I visit! With a bunch of friends, all of whom enjoyed their food, I had a wonderful meal. The workers were very friendly and very helpful. I enjoyed the variety of wines and appreciated the expertise of the staff to help us choose a wine. Ill certainly come back again soon!

The help that I received to get the perfect gift for my friend whose birthday happened to be February 14 was on point. I came to the store to see if someone could recommend a good wine. The guys at the store not just explained the best choices, they understood my budget and I got really good tips. When I was ready to order I just called their customer service and boy they were helpful. I wanted an specific set of pink colors, the customer service rep. worked with me step by step in the details that I wanted for my basket. The delivery was on time and the basket looked perfect. I love the wine that comes from this store. It was so delicious and it had a great fragrance. I can really claim they were very fermented in their wines. My tastebuds really got it. I am from Kansas City, KS. I ve been searching for a liquor store that sells Vodka NEFT for quite a long time now... lots of online retailers appear somewhat shady. I finally pulled the trigger and ordered from Mel and Rose. “Test order” - two bottles, for my brother’s birthday. Package arrived in great shape and 1 day early- which worked out perfectly! Shipping wasn’t exactly cheap, but i completely understood why once i saw the size of the box and quality of the packaging materials. Ive been going to this little shop for over 25 years. Its a throwback to that perfect little connoisseur grocery store with all those things you cant get anywhere else. Candies and treats from Italy, delicious Beverages and perfectly crafted sandwiches and deli food. Their selection of high-end alcoholic beverages is quite mind-boggling. I love this little store and hope its around as long as I am!

There is a wine fridge for tasting. The staff makes great recommendations on the best wines or bottles from the shop that makes for a good dinner party. Private wine tasting sessions and champagne nights are very sociable and well recommended. I love this place for they provide the best service. Thanks a lot!

I placed an online order on 11/12 and was promptly charged for the full amount of the order - meaning the charge cleared my bank 2 days later, not that its pending - and I called today to see about a tracking number which I never received and they claim they have no record of my order. The person on the phone said it can take 8-10 days to get a refund. Its my understanding that they cant charge you for products until they are shipped.I put in a fraud claim with my bank and spoke to the store again and they person who answered the phone was extremely rude. It sounds like there is a known issue with their online orders. BEWARE

I ordered a custom engraving on a tequila bottle and I was extremely satisfied with my order. I ordered it on 8-2-2020, and the person I shipped it to got it 8-6-2020. Not only was the shipping fast, but the quality was amazing and the engraving was perfect. I definitely would not have gone with any other store.

Highly recommend Mel&Rose! Quality selection of hard to find spirits at reasonable prices. So reasonable, we actually bought two bottles for the same price as other online competitors were charging for one. Shipping took 20 days to receive from the date the label was created, but each bottle was individually bubble wrapped and protected with more than enough peanuts to fill the box. Given on-going COVID-19 challenges, Mel&Rose did not disappoint and was well worth the wait. Highly recommended for affordable prices, wide variety and secure cross-country shipping.

This was the absolute worst customer service I have received. I ordered three bottles for international shipping, they only sent me one and when I enquired where the other two went, they simple said I never ordered them, even when I sent them a video and screengrab as proof of order, which they simply chose to ignore and continue to call me a liar, instead of admitting they made a mistake and apologising which I would have been fine with. Furthermore, they charged me for a gift set, which they didn’t set and only after I asked them about it they said oh yeah we will refund you for that. I wouldn’t recommend to friend or foe.

Though you guys are out in Cali Im in nyc I would like to thank all the staff especially the one young lady I kept calling and bugging with my indecisiveness. She was very patient and understanding. Dont remember her name but she had an accent. Thank you for putting up with me I was unable to find Stolichnaya blueberry vodka here in nyc despite the negative reviews I took a chance with Mel and Rose. Happy I did I checked out with FedEx ground worried it would not arrive but Thanksgiving they said send and email to upgrade shipping method. This was done in a timely manner arrived on the delivery date. Kudos to Mel and Rose customer service was professional patient understanding and courteous Will be doing business with them again. Ordered 12/12/19. Notified 12/14 they could not ship to my state for some odd reason as Ive had alcohol shipped to ND with no issues through other vendors. Gave new address, shipping label was created. Its now 12/20/19 and the item still has not been given to FedEx to ship. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift that Ill now be scrambling to find something else. No communication of delivery delays or anything so I could be prepared with something else.

They don’t actually have the items they are selling in stock, so when you “buy” something, they charge you and then figure out whether they actual have it or not. Then when they don’t have it, they email you and say oops sorry we don’t have that, we!ll try to get your money back to you in a few days.

BUYER BEWARE!!! Two charges totaling $4,000 approved and pending on my credit card. These people claim the first order doesn’t exist. Now the second order they say something is wrong with my address???? Surprise!!! My billing and shipping are my home address. They want me to pay again. Through PayPal now??? Then the woman on the phone says they’ve been in business for over 20 years so go ahead and leave a bad review. ???!!!!! They do not care about their customers experience and lie and will probably scam you so be very careful. Try somewhere else safer and with higher reviews. 3.9 is a horrible rating and I should have expected poor service. I take part of the blame for not believing the rating.

Top shelf service. With out a doubt this location is well stocked with hard to find an exotic wines and spirits. When we Host special galas, parties, special events, Wine tasting or scotch tasting or whiskey tasting parties, this is the location we go to.. Good thing I didnt pick this company to accommodate for my wedding. I was going to choose them because I like their prices but my best friend told me to do a test run to see how they handle an order. I went to the store trying to buy a nice tequila for a gift they have such a great variety of tequilas I bought one very nice quality, then I found out that I can order on line very nice customer service friendly and very patient girl her name is Ana I just love to place my orders with her. I truly recommend this place for the different and rare to find (in L.A).

Sounds like others have had similar experiences with their online ordering. I ordered 5 items they had in stock. I will say they are the only online place that had all the items I needed...BUT... I ordered 4/9/2020... It was shipped 4/21, 12 days later, and now it is scheduled to be delivered 4/27, 18 days later. I called to check on the order 4/20 and they were rude and hadnt even put the order together yet to ship. I suggest they work on their customer service and improve order turn around time.

It took them til next day 130pm to let me know not possible plus charges were different w Fed Ex to go to rural in Oregon. I inquired w Fed Ex, this lady at Mel n Rose lied. When,I called n discussed the lie, the lady was absolutely rude. I caught them,packing shipping charges. I took my business elsewhere w honest folks, in my opinion they at Mel n Rose are not honest.

Paid $74.00 for over night delivery on Friday to be delivered the next day. It wont be here till Monday. Save your money on shipping. Even snail mail, mailed on Friday will get to Florida in 5 days... Wensday if ordered on Friday but you use FedEx. How do I know this I was in the military station in California and mailed stuff home to Florida. What a rip off $289.00 bottle of tequila bent over on shipping. This company has horrible customer service. I ordered the limited edition Ciroc Music Box Special Edition and paid $13.95 for shipping. The package was received in a timely manner it was bubble wrapped and also had the foam packing. Once the music box was unwrapped from the bubble wrap it was dented in several places. Which means it was packaged that way because wrapping was not damaged. I tried calling and emailing customer service no response. When I did speak to someone by phone he said they would contact me by email still no response. This was a birthday give I could not return and had to give to the person damaged. I will never order from this company again.Yes you did respond to my email once the post on google and yelp were posted. The original offer of 5% is a horrible offer when you take into account it was a bottle of alcohol I could have purchased in any store for $25.00 and the only reason I ordered this and paid an extra $13.95 was because of the limited edition box it came in. You also requested I remove my review from yelp being that you changed the offer to 10% which is not even $5.00 and I responded that I would not remove the truth for that reason but I would update review stating you finally responded. This customer service is horrible and I will never order anything from here again.

Very fast shipping.

A great selection of anything alcohol in a prime location of Los Angeles. Staff was always great to work with. The selection of bdx is always solid and they get backfills of older vintages every once in a while. Whiskey selection is fairly strong as well. Mel and Rose is an all around powerhouse for anything wine in this state.

I typically don’t do reviews.But I work nearby so it’s convenient. But I’ve given this place so many chances, and they’re always so incredibly rude. I feel like I’m annoying them with just being there. Especially ordering from the deli (once you can finally get someone to even take an order.) It’s the first place that I’ve ever known that I literally dread going into.

They sent the wrong bottle of champagne and they didnt offer any type of accommodation. Perhaps you couldve sent overnight the correct thing at no additional shipping cost to me. I needed a specific type for a celebration so I just returned the unopened bottle and I requested a full refund.

I ordered a bottle of crown royal peach that I’m not able to find in my state and the delivery was fast, it was efficient and I was kept in the loop. I will be ordering there again!! Thank you!

Great store with an expansive selection of wines, liquor, and even candy. The employees there are quite knowledgeable and able to give good recommendations on the wine/liquor/beer. Also, they have a ton of candy from Europe which are difficult to find anywhere else. Free delivery is a big plus as well.Keep in mind that with their great selection, all of their products are priced at a premium.

Firstly, I dislike when a cashier at any establishment is not friendly, dry, indifferent, and even after multiple visits. The clincher for me, happened when this same individual (he may be the owner for all I know) peered at me while I browsed through the aisles waiting for my deli item to be completed.He did not say anything but the glare on his face seemed to indicate I was doing something inappropriate as if browsing while waiting for the item I paid for was uncalled for.By the way, I have seen this same individual not behave as I am describing to other visitors and after multiple visits, rarely get a hello from this person (who wears thick bracelets or some kind of jewelry).I do not understand why someone with this behavior would be representing any establishment, not to mention taking my money!I often want to visit the store, but thinking of interacting with this person makes me choose otherwise.

So disappointed, received an email stating my order was “red flagged”. So naturally I called customer service to find out what was going on, the lady I spoke to was SO RUDE. The reason it was red flagged was no big deal, and handled, but when I asked if the shipment would make it before Christmas she said no because the original order was placed after Friday. I informed her it was not It was placed Thursday, she then continued to argue with me and in a nice way told me to pretty much deal with it I was wrong. The whole purpose of me putting this order in was for it to specifically make it before Christmas and I understand things happen, but it was just handled so rudely. I NEVER leave reviews ever. But I just felt like maybe customer service should have been handled differently. I will probably order from them again however I hope if there are future problems they have nicer people to address it with!

Specialty is correct. The deli here is tiny and empties out quickly, so if you have a hankering and youre nearby, you may not get what you want.Parking is also interesting, especially during rush hour(s).But wait:+ They have cheese.+ And that French baguette from LaBrea Bakery that you need to put in the oven for a little while to cook.+++ AND THEY HAVE GOMPERS GIN. M&R is the only place within 500 miles that carries this precious adult beverage.For that, I will be back!

Went to a Champagne and caviar tasting at Mel and Rose. Wonderful event!!!!!! Great selections of Champagnes and ample food to taste and try. Many interesting local vendors too. Mel and Rose put on a great tasting and are gracious and charming as well.

Placed order online for brothers bday last year. Went well last yr. This yr, they miscalculated ship costs ¬ified me 5 days later. Requiring me to call them multiple days to resolve &person answering phone was rude. Will look for diff bday gift next yr.

No handicapped parking, as there is always the same Audi SUV parked there daily... Makes me wonder if the owners just park there but they seem to be perfectly healthy and fully able to ambulate without assistance.

Small yet amazing international groceries market near West Hollywood. If you hate American made chocolates and crave the good stuff made in Europe and Asia, this is your place to visit. They also housed the largest stock of Japanese liquor I have seen in Los Angeles. My favorite is the variety of Australian TimTams which are always available here. Great go to place it youre looking for a bit of sweetness from back home. Especially recommended to expatriates living in Los Angeles from Europes, Middle East, India and Australia.

BEWARE!!! SCAMMERS! I ordered a 230 bottle of XO for my dad and they sent a 70 bottle of a lower grade congac. After finally getting in touch w/ someone after several calls and emails, I was told to take pics and send a copy of my receipt which was emailed to me but they couldn’t find. I was also told that I may not get an answer about the situation until Tuesday since it was Saturday and New Years was Monday. After sending what was asked, still no response until I called again. Then I was told they would have to hold my card for the price of the bottle they accidentally sent until they get it back and then they can send what I ordered...(THIS IS Illegal!) After checking there reviews on BBB they have a D rating for unresolved matters and I saw similar reviews on other sites of them sending items late, wrong items or broken items then making it difficult to get the correct item. Because of this I refused to let them hold my card in fear that they will attempt to replace my order with something else due to “not having it in stock” after receiving the other bottle. I am continuing to work on this. My tradition of having high quality cognac with my dad for the holidays ruined. Please do your research on BBB before ordering online!!!! For some reason this place has good reviews on other sites which makes you wonder.

I had ordered 2 weeks ago 5 different bottles of a set. I was notified a week later that 1 bottle was out of stock no idea when would be back, ok that’s fine. 2 others were out of stock but would be back 5 days ago (Still not shipping the ones they do have in stock). I sent them an email wondering the status 2 days ago and got a response that now they have no idea when the other 2 are coming in. Also stating that they are going to continue to hold the whole order. So now the major part of the Christmas present that this was intended to be will not be here in time and if I wasn’t mislead of the timing I would’ve been able to order somewhere else. Ordered a Mothers Day gift basket and they never sent it. They Emailed me a question on my order. Didnt pick up the phone or try and contact me again. So my gift was never sent. Called to discussed and the manager said it was my fault for not getting back in contact. Apparently they are way to successful and dont need to be resposive to customers.

Went to pick up a specific bottle of peach schnapps I had been hunting for that they had listed as In Stock online. When I went in they said they were out of stock. I checked online and sure enough it said In Stock. I was able to find it at The Wine House, however, a much nicer store and a more convenient trip from my home.

Their website says they will process shipments the next day which is completely false. An order I placed 4 days ago its finally now going to ship the day after tomorrow so brace yourself for at least 1 week plus shipping time.N

Very disappointed with their service. I ordered a bottle using their website on October 10th. I received a receipt and a FedEx shipping label that said the product would arrive around October 18th.On the 17th, I noticed the tracking information never updated. I contacted the company and was told my product was back ordered. I didnt understand why they wouldnt tell me that in the beginning. They said they could find a similar product that costs 60% more, but I would have to pay that difference. I thought it would be unfair for me to pay the difference for them not telling me the product was back ordered, but I told them I was willing to pay the difference anyway, under the condition it would arrive in two weeks for my wedding.The staffer told me they would call me back in an hour to give me an estimated date of arrival, but never did so.

Ordered a package from them. FedEx delivered to wrong address but because there was a signature even tho it wasnt mine. Mel and Rose wont help me. Everytime I call I get a run around. Call back this time call back here call back tomorrow. Wasnt my fault they lost my package but they sure dont give a damn to help me. Very sad how a company will just push you off over a mistake from FedEx!! Very sad.. be careful ordering from them!!!

I had ordered a $200 middleton rare bottle for a client back in December. The emailed me and said they need a photo of my ID and credit card which I certainly understand to prevent fraud. They received the email and I thought all would be taken care of. My client never received the bottle and I never heard back from this company. Horrible customer service not trustable would suggest another company.

AVOID THIS PLACE! This is not the kind of place you want to order from during lunch. They have no real management making sure orders are being filled. They blame Grubhub for their lack of organization. I stood there for almost 30 mins after waiting for my “late sent” order but somehow they managed to take car of customers that placed their order 10 mins after I showed up to pick up my order that they hadn’t started. Their disregard for customers is ridiculous!

Great liquor store for hard to find wine and whiskies! They have even rarer ones in the room next to the main store.

Clean great service cute little outdoors

I purchased two bottles as gifts for people. Both did not come with original packaging and one did not have the seal on it. Ive called and sent two emails requesting a return lable and refund. Two weeks in still havent heard anything. Horrible
