I didn’t find their menu exciting or anything special. Had the Chinese chicken salad gluten free modified which was good but honestly quite boring. My niece took the maple chicken sandwich and like it.The table we set on was dirty (I did ask one of the servants “can we sit there?” And he confirmed that we can).Probably won’t go back there .

As LA as it gets.. friendly knowledgeable waiters, lots of sunlight, inside and of course curbside. Well priced and packed cheese, charcuterie, cakes, salads and snacks. A la minute sandwiches slightly on the pricier side but still acceptable. Just wished they have more places to sit on peak brunch hours as most patrons seem to want to forget the time and love to linger while taking in the great weather... Bring lots of personal sanitizers to speed up sanitizing your own tables as their table availability a bit slow..

I will be back for sure but Ill call ahead to get a cupcake.

Loved this place! It had a really long line when I went there, and available seating was very sparse. The person taking the orders was extremely kind and knowledgeable and even gave a few suggestions that I wasn’t expecting. Food came out as it was made, some things took longer than others which is OK. Everything was delicious and the serving sizes were well-planned.

Alright. . . I love this place but, theres literally a line out the door if you want to eat at anytime Oclock. Thats my only gripe. As far as the food, its very delicious and theres a wide variety. We got the chicken sandwich and a something or another sandwich.... I really dont remember the name. But that doesnt matter. You really cant go wrong with ANY item on their menu. Theyre located smack dab in the middle of Los Angeles near The Grove. Its a must stop eatery when youre visiting L.A. Give the chicken sandwich a try and toss some Cholula hot sauce on it.

My second time back here after 3 years and the food is still as good. I think they have expanded with a second store at Studio City. I love the layout and concept of this store. Its so busy and theres food everywhere you turn. They sell fresh food and pantry store items, which obviously is a delight to many customers who wear a big smile as they are looking through the shelves.

The Original Joans on Third is a true local neighborhood gem with lots of charm, amazing service and plenty of outdoor seating for you, a companion, family or your party. The late morning flow is probably my favorite with shorter wait times and incredibly fresh bagels, sandwiches and goodies. They pack items for you to go, but you can dine out. The have amazing coffee/cold brew and Joan herself is just wonderful as is the entire J on T staff. They even have vegan options

Not sure what happened to this lovely place. Owner change? Order placing counter was moved to the other side where the cashier was expecting us to know the menu by heart?Lot of the delicious food is trimmed of the menu. Mostly cold bar items remain. Youd have to hold up the line, go to the other side of the store lookup their display fridge and come back to the cashier to order!?An employee was stuck in the bathroom for quite a while. The lady in front of the line tried the door handle and knocked very gently on the door. The manager came out of her room angry at the customer demanding to know why she knocked on the bathroom door while a long line has been formed! When ordering, we asked the cashier if the tuna is a piece. She confirmed and gestured with her hand showing a square piece. When food arrived, it was tuna salad instead of a grilled piece of tuna and the waiter said they dont have such a food. Not sure what happened to this LA icon. Ownership change possibly?

I went to Joan to try some cupcakes but little did I know that its way more than that. They have so many food options that it will be hard for you to decide.I tried their chocolate cupcake and just loved it. It was an actual cake just in shape of cupcake. Sponge was super moist, frosting was bitter sweet and the flavor was long lasting. The service was great. I wanted a red velvet cupcake but they didnt have that so they gave me the pumpkin cupcake for free. Isnt that great? Also the place was super clean and service was quick.

It’s hard not to love this place. I have nothing but positive comments on every apsect of it. The ambience is awesome, the variety is u paralleled, they have a deli counter, a counter with sweets, another for general and stuff you can buy for home. Their food is really good. I had the smoked salmon plate and I can tell you, they are very generous on the salmon! The staff are very nice and the food comes out quite fast! There’s also free valet parking at the back! Whenever Im in the area I stop by Joans to pick up a container of their housemade Sweet and Crunchy Pickles. Pre-covid era that usually meant that Id have to park 3 blocks away to do that. (Yeah, imo, they are that good.) Today was my first time back in the area. Plentiful parking so it was easy to pick up a pint of tuna salad and a side of mac-n-cheese along with my pickles. As I waited I watched their service process with their covid preventative practices in action. Pretty impressive. Ive never had a bad meal here. Great place for bite, a snack, or a meal. I am yet to find anything I dislike about Joans on Third, and its a must visit every time I visit Los Angeles. To me, Joans on Third embraces the urban hip vibes of West Hollywood, while giving you a high-quality food experience. Lots of healthy foods, but also a lot of comfort food like the short-rib sandwich shown in the picture. Employees are super friendly, high-quality food, quick service despite the many customers. Only downsides to comment on would be price and seating, its LA so compared to many other popular spots, the amount is relative, and by the time the food is ready, Im usually seated at a table. All in all very easy five stars.

Notes for the Health & Plant Conscious:Third St Menu Breakfast: Avocado toast with egg is good with quality eggs and a little bit of chili spice. Certain dishes have butter added so just ask if you are vegan or dairy-free. They use high quality ingredients, the fresh fruit is a good variety and isnt full of cantaloupe and honeydew melon.Sandwiches: The garden vegetable isnt your average veggie sandwich with boring vegetables and no flavor. Can be made plant-based by taking off cream cheese.Vibe:Joans on Third is a combination cafe, specialty store, and catering restaurant. It is always very busy and lively with a lot going on. Limited signage makes it confusing to know where to order, but all registers will take your order. Seating is mostly communal tables indoors with exclusive tables outdoors.Parking:Free valet parking behind the building (enter in the alley off Orlando Ave or Sweetzer Ave) with friendly parking attendantsSpecial Tips:You can order food from all registers of which there are at least 3 different ones located throughout the storeImprovements:Joans could work on using less plastic as the for here coffee drinks are served in plastic with the straw already placed. Water cups are plastic as well. Perhaps they could just offer straws in the utensil cups for those of us who just take the cap off to drink or bring our own straws.

The summer after my freshman year of college, I got a part-time side hustle driving my friends grandfather, Bob, around town. Id take him to doctors appointments and restaurants. Id take him to grocery stores and Best Buys so he could return items and yell at the clerks. Typical old man stuff. He complained about my driving often and was astounded at my lack of navigational abilities give the fact that Im a native Angeleno. Every morning, we would come to Joans for breakfast. Both of us would get the same thing - a mushroom omelet for him and the New York breakfast sandwich for me. Hed wax philosophical and Id chow down. Sometimes, Id wax philosophical too. Bob liked to listen to and consider the opinions of kids despite him being an old man. It was a happy summer. That must have been 8 years ago prior to writing this although it feels like longer. Bob died not long - perhaps a few years - after that summer in 2011. Ive since left LA and have been living in New York for about 4 years. I have yet to find a breakfast sandwich in my newly adopted city as delicious as the new York Breakfast Sandwich here. The bread has the perfect balance of crunchiness, softness, and chewiness. Its got a slight sourdough tang and the creamy savory of butter. The bacon and eggs are cooked perfectly. Whenever Im back in town, visiting friends and family, I always get one. And I think of Bob and that summer we spent together, all those years ago.

Confusing layout - its hard to figure out where you are supposed to order and/or pay, as there are multiple stations around the center U area.
