Their lumber system is ridiculous. None of the lumber has prices or information listed, so you have to ask someone for everything. Once you load your wood you cant just pay, you have to go to the desk to get a receipt...but you still cant pay. Then you take your receipt inside to pay, and then take the receipt back out to show to the security guard. Ridiculous. Also, their wood is expensive and has termites (I squished several there while getting my wood).

Came in today and Steve and Tito were so great! Bought a replacement wheel for my dolly and asked for extra help to do the swap there at the store. Both jumped in and got the stubborn wheel off and did the replacement. Great service.

What a great place to go and get all of your hardware supply, lumber and building materials you need. You should check out their garden shop Its amazing. They have everything I need to renovate my garden and more! Customer service is amazing and they practice safe covid-19 practices. They will take care of you!

Anawalt is consistently substandard. Most of the time you cant find what you need, and the staff are not friendly and act like they hate their job.

Convenient location for most Westwood residents. Not crazy about the parking as stalls are cramped. Store itself is well stocked and maintained. They also have a terrific indoor/outdoor nursery.

Well stocked lumber, hardware and garden store. Store had safe distancing and healthy measures in place. I was very comfortable in the store. Additionally, the store staff was plentiful and available.

In this pandemic Anawalt has been a God send. Its never super busy, by that I mean the second the lines start to get a little long it becomes all hands on deck. This means that people arent just standing around allowing social distancing to even possible. I went to other big brand stores and nearly had a panic attack at how packed they were and how long the lines were. Anawalt maybe a few bucks more here and there but if it means I can keep my family safe and still get my home projects done... its worth it! Let me mention the staff and security... they are so helpful and nice, btw. How can you lose?!

Not crowded at all. Everyone is social distancing, so it was in and out. I was only able to get ½ of what I needed. Cant believe they dont have 5lbs.sledge hammers.

This is where I go for any gardening supplies I need (especially soil) for 2 reasons... #1, theyre very close to my house, and #2, I really like their selection and prices. Id definitely give them 5 stars if it werent for one problem, its very hard to get help from their staff in the gardening department and not just for me. For example, I was shopping there earlier today and two nice ladies were having trouble finding the right type of soil for their plants, and no one working there was helping them, so I went over to help them pick out the ideal soil type for their plants. They l thought it was funny when they asked if I work there, and I said no, I just like gardening (lol). Anyways Ill keep shopping there, hopefully theyre staff is more able to help in the future.

My second time at this location. Not impressed with garden selection. Flowers, nor succulents. Customer service is not the best. The cashiers are on personal calls, while helping clients.

In store experience has been fine, easy to park as well. Shopping online is a different experience all together. Out of date online ordering system. System marks as shipped even when it’s out of stock. Only certain people can check online order status. Status can’t actually be checked online. Long hold times.Update: Heard back from email support within a day and was able to come to some resolution pretty quick. Still I cant say I reccomend ordering online. I chose not to create an account but still was supposed to be able to track my order at the least. Wasnt really the case.

They have a good selection of hardware, houseware, and garden items. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There is also a lumber yard, which I have not used.

Absolutely insane prices. While checking out I had to double check the receipt to make sure I wasnt charged for extra items by accident. While there (for about half an hour), I did not encounter one helpful employee. Three separate workers were griping about having to work while short-staffed and were clearly agitated by being asked for help. Dont shop here.

Good selection of paint for my apartment. I wanted to brighten my room up a bit so I bought some paint here. People probably think they sell just lumber but they have many other things (including paint) too. Prices were reasonable.

Anawalt Lumber is always great they have just about everything you need at a hardware store and if they dont have it there more than happy to reach out and look for what it is that you are looking for I just had that experience today where they didnt have what I was looking for and less than 20 minutes later they reached out to me in a phone call and said that they can get it thats remarkable they been established to hear in West LA area for a hundred years a long time great company to go to I recommend highly to everyone

Pretty good lumber yard, hardware & garden store. They have nice plant selection as well as heavy duty construction supplies like lumber of all common construction sizes as well as drywall, plywood, tons of moulding, decking, roof flashing and summer hardwood selection as well. Inside the store they have paint, cleaning, electrical, plumbing and carpentry supplies. They have a nice help desk with knowledgeable staff (most of the time) and usually not much of a wait to check out. The only problem with the place is the prices are higher than your big box retailers (HD).

I visited the lumber yard department and was helped by Cirilo. He is by far the nicest guy working there! He not only sold me what I needed but he took the time to give me a few, extremely helpful, suggestions with my project. I will defenetly go back to Anawalt, forget home depot, for all my lumber needs.

Anyway has been around for a long time and is catered towards more commercial customers. They do a good job and the service is good. However, theyre selection of certain types of items like shower heads or automotive cleaners could be better.

I like this store. The floor employees are great. The cashiers are creepy though. They do their job but the attitude sux! Especially the one todayLike she had nothing but contempt for me. They had some cool stuff plant and pottery to match... I love the plant stand it was $299.99, what was so surprising and said it was for sale in the first place its gorgeous...I really like the fake foliage the lavender. I wish they had a larger selection of hand tools. I specifically went there for a hand drill and they had a screwdriver $40.00, and a drill for $85.00, that is a little disappointing. And they dont come with nice plastic hard covers or a carry-all whatsoever... It wasnt a wasted trip I did get somethings... Ivy and Moss and Palm new houseplants for me

Ive been to Anawalt before and had a bad experience and didnt want to come back here. I was referred by Fisher Lumber to come here for their lumber service they offer. I was in luck as I was helped by Michael who was absolutely amazing and made my day. Thank you Anawalt for hiring Michael - it just shows how customer service is so important to a business experience.

The staff is friendly and helpful. This store is a one stop shopping experience. A step above your local Home Depot. Family owned business feel.

Service is outstanding to they extent to try very hard to make sure every customer is a happy one. They are the biggest and best in the area if youre traffic locked.

I shop in the garden section. There are some great people who work in this department. Expert advise, especially from Kim. In the garden they practice what they preach . They grow some of the products they sell. Nice!!!

Caveat: I havent been in the store yet.Slow customer service: I was going to go to OSH but I wanted to support a local family business, so I called Anawalt to confirm that they do lumber cutting. Sherry (very nice!) transferred me to the lumber department and Ive been on hold now for 8 minutes and counting! Its really turning me off from the store.
