Located just over the bridge in echo park is this vintage themed diner called Brite Spot. As you walk in, you get a total retro vibe of how diners used to be with the bright neon sign out front, the light blue leather upholstery, the wood paneling on the inside, the pie cabinet right at the bar, and the extremely interesting light fixtures hanging from the roof.I ordered the Breakfast Anytime Burger and it did not disappoint. This burger comes with a beef patty, accompanied with hash browns, roasted peppers, and a sunny side egg. Hiding beneath all of this is a delicious sriracha aioli and all packed in between a brioche bun.The presentation of the food and the ambiance of this diner will definitely get you feeling a type of way.

Brite Spot is a historical diner on Sunset blvd in EchoPark area. Interior atmosphere is very cool, nice and relaxing. Indoor design is very chic and classy. I sat at the bar and its bar stools are comfortable and sturdy. Table is prefectly leveled in height. Outdoor seating faces Sunset blvd and of med-large in size. I ordered Breakfast burrito; it lacked some substance and taste. Also, I think its too mushy and the cheese on top is not completely melted. But their coffee taste good. Menu prices are a little over priced in my opinion. Service was okay but needs to be improved. Staff are nice, attentive, friendly and competent. Parking is very small and has ~8 car maximum capacity. Metered street parking is available. Overall, I wasnt completely satisfied with my breakfast. Clearly I had high expectation for Brite Spot but was let down.

Ive been coming here with my mother and brothers since I was a toddler. Its really sad that all my childhood memories are slowly being removed from Echo Park but I am really glad that Brite Spot has been able to remain open and still able to make fantastic dishes and pies for a reasonable price. I highly recommend getting tater tots instead of hash browns and grab a slice of pie on your way out. Also, chose to eat outside so you can people watch on Sunset. Support this classic eatery!

When I went to Brite Spot a couple years ago, it was fantastic! Their breakfast menu is stellar. I also have gone there for lunch and gotten the chicken club, which is huge! Portion size is on point, probably enough for two people honestly.Highly recommended! The only pain in the neck about this place, as true of anything in the Silver Lake, Echo Park area, is the parking. They do have a parking lot with about 10 spaces in it. There is also parking on surface streets around the place.

I like this place a lot, but it isnt without its faults. Location is great, and the food is good but the eggs they just couldnt get right.Smacked on a street corner in Silver Lake surrounded by a lot of other great places, making this a perfect location. The restaurant is small and not too busy through the week when I went but guaranteed to fill up during busy brunch trips on the weekends. The food is an array of choices from vegan and vegetarian to somewhat vague renditions of southern faire. Unfortunately being from the south is a curse. The Southern Decadence came with a hard biscuit and plain gravy but the fried chicken breast had all the flavor. There was the Fried Green Tomato Benedict that, while good in theory, just didnt come through. Egg was over cooked and not runny, greens werent what we expected and the biscuit was hard.On a different occasion I had the corned beef hash where again I was slightly disappointed. The hash was basically just sliced corn beef and home fries but it tasted SO good. Flavor won, but again the over medium eggs was cooked harder than hard. Possibly stick with sunnyside and see how it turns out?All in all I enjoyed it but it didnt knock my socks off. Im sure Ill be back though.

Easy place to walk to if you live in the area. There is only a few parking spots so dont rely on parking in the lot. There is plenty of meters around the restaurant, and the meters are pretty cheap. There is plenty to choose from and the kids items are huge. We have two, so they get one menu item each and there is plenty of leftovers for the rest of the day.I recommend the vegetarian burger but with the vegan bun and no vegan mayo. It is one of the best impossible burgers that I have eaten. They cook it well and it tastes great with the grilled onions and grilled tomatoes. The french fries are delicious.

Belgian waffle tasted like rosemary... all three of us at the table agreed, but we didn’t bring it up to the staff because they didn’t seem warm or interested in the feedback. If it’s a conscious choice that’s one thing, but it should be mentioned on the menu. Waffle was also barely lukewarm. Fries had black on them, suggesting they’d been left out long enough to oxidize, like seriously oxidize. If it was only one or the other I wouldn’t have let it bother me but the combination of it all makes me concerned about cross contamination and definitely convinced me not to come back. Hate to leave bad reviews but I gotta be honest.EDIT - asked the staff, who asked the kitchen, and the promptly denied that any rosemary was in the batter, of course. However, it didn’t seem like they believed me, nor were they interested in looking into it. If a customer has an issue, it’s the staff and kitchen’s responsibility to do their best to fix it. Would have changed my rating but it stays due to the lack of effort on the part of the whole staff to help fix the problem. Unfortunately I won’t be coming back.

I know theyve changed owners a few times but I cant believe the prices. Really, $7.50 for a slice of pie! Club sandwich for $13.95. I bought neither of those. Too rich for my blood. The biscuits, hard and stale, the gravy was cold, the fried chicken was cold, the eggs were probably the best part of the meal besides the lemonade (the best thing I had there).Even the toast was depressing. This place is fairly consistent. Good price, service and food quality. I have two complaints, the Banana Cream pie. It is whole bananas in a pie crust topped with a microscopic bit of chocolate and a ton of whipped cream. Im sorry folks, whole banana is not cream. I felt a bit like I had been duped out of my money when I brought this home and discovered it.That recipe should be reconsidered. The second is that the buttermilk biscuit is a cross between a square of really be hard cornbread made with a dash of Bisquick. Biscuits are not difficult to make and clearly who ever is making these are taking the easy way out.

Never thought to give this place a review, because for the many years I’ve been coming here the food has been exceptional and the staff attentive and kind. This spot is one of the few places I bring every visitor from out of town to grab a bite to eat. Today, my first time dining here since the change in ownership, I was completely shocked by the 180 degree turn the restaurant has made. Although the staff were as excellent as always, the menu had dramatically squished, and my all time favorite dishes were ALL removed. My favorite tuna melt in LA was now missing, the greatest tater tots this side of the milky way had completely vanished, and it seemed as though each section on the menu had been just about slashed in half. I figured, hey, the original menu was a bit massive anyways— maybe this was long overdue (besides the tater tots being cut... that’s just wrong).I decided to go with the Bacon / Gruyere omelet with home fries, which seemed a close companion to my favorite omelette from the original menu— the Bacon Mushroom Cheddar. My partner got a turkey club with fries after a desperate plea for the original Tuna Melt had failed. I cannot even begin to explain how disappointed we were with our meal. My omelette was practically empty, and the few pieces of bacon and cheese that did make it in tasted all wrong. The bacon was chewy and dry, the caramelized onions were bitter and undercooked, and the cheese made for a sour combination with the rest of the flavors. My home fries were mealy, bland, and lifeless— I couldn’t even believe this was the same spot that made me some of the best tots in the world not a month earlier. Neither of us came close to finishing even half our meals (unheard of for either of us at this spot). I found the side of white toast and jam to be a more flavorful option than anything on my actual plate. I hope the wealth of these disappointed reviews send a clear message to the new management that one of the best diners in LA is in jeopardy of losing so many dedicated customers and I am hopeful that these complaints will be read and something will change before our next (and hopefully not last) visit to Brite Spot.

I came here with my family two years ago and we returned a couple of days ago. The reason for the big gap is we live in London, so its hard to swing by more often! The first time we came we had lunch can of burgers and they were really good. The kind of indulgence that so many London joints are trying to replicate to varying degrees of success. Most recently we went for brunch. I had the California version of eggs benedict (proper name escapes me but instead of ham there was spinach, tomato and avocado) and loved it.My sons over ordered buttermilk pancakes so I had the chance to try those too. Big and fluffy, they were great. You could argue that we should have been given more of a steer on the amount they ordered but theres also a chance that most people dont struggle too much with them - maybe my boys are just lightweights! Not being local its hard for me to say how it compares on the value front but my brother was really happy with the vegan options, the service was friendly and efficient and we all left with bellies full and faces smiling after our diner experience at Brite Spot.
