Everyone at this store was so helpful, really knowledgeable (most important), completely positive and encouraging. So many girls come here to be fitted for their first pair of pointe shoes but the staff really understand its a big occasion for each girl -- they seemed so excited for my daughter and made it feel truly special. Her dance school director would only trust pointe shoe fitting to this store, and I can see why -- well be back for future fittings for sure!

Absolutely love! We stopped here on the way home from a vacation for pointe shoes and leotards. The staff was so kinda and helped us find everything we needed!

They sure know their stuff. The ladies who work there are very knowledgeable. Prices may be higher than other places, but they dont sell junk.

A bit pricey but the staffs were very nice to me. One of the staff was courteous enough to give me a student discount but it was still pricey.

My daughter was looking for a specific brand of ballet shoes. The Dance Store did not have them in the color or the brand. They did have a pair for sizing purpose for my daughter to try on. After trying on an alternate brand, my daughter decided that she really wanted the the brand she came for. When we asked the salesperson for the size of the ballet shoes, she said that she did not know. I informed her that we will have to order them online. She offered to order them through their store. I asked if there was any advantage of ordering from them. There wasnt any, only the complication of third party involvement. So, I asked for the shoes size once more since I would need it for the online order. She was hedging and not forthcoming about looking for the size on the package/box. Subsequently, an older woman came to me and told me that there would be a charge for that information due to salesperson spending time with my daughter trying on shoes. I will leave it to the readers to come to whatever conclusion you may come to. I will never shop at this store again.

Always love Jenny and Elsa. They make a great team. Jenny is the owner and will let you try on all the shoes you need in order to find the perfect fit. Elsa is the engineer. If it doesnt fit exactly right she McGyvors the shoe until it performs the way you need it to. We also found some amazing flat shoes there.

Weve been coming here for years when my daughters need pointe shoes (not to mention toe pads, tights and hair pins). Excellent selection of shoes and wonderful fitters. No one else has such a good eye for whether the shoe is right for the dancer. Its well worth the 45-minute drive.

In this store they have a great selection of dancewear and dance shoes.It is the best in LA to find YOUR point shoes since they really take their time during fitting. Also they keep a record of your point shoes purchase in order to better serve you on your next visit.

Ive heard positive and negative comments about this place but I can only rate it based on my personal experience here, which was dreadful.When I came here for a pointe shoe fitting, the sales lady tried about 5 different pair of shoes on me, none of which felt quite right. After shed brought the fifth pair out for me to try she said, I think these are the right shoes for you. I told her I wasnt sure about that and she said, Well, these are the only ones you havent complained about.Pointe shoes are expensive, everyone has unique feet, and the wrong shoes can cause problems, even injuries.Perhaps I would have had a better experience with a different sales lady but, Ill just look for another place to get fitted instead - this isnt the only dance shop in town.

I took my daughter to be fitted for pointe shoes a couple of days ago and was incredibly impressed with our experience. We had a very limited time that we could get in store, I phoned first to ensure we could be accommodated and was pleasantly surprised that we could be seen despite the time constraints.On arrival we were greeted warmly, the shoe fitting was a fantastic experience, the expertise was apparent from the outset with the shoes she tried on until the perfect pair were found. I was very aware that the store was due to close however we were not hurried at all. The selection and variety of leotards in store is outstanding. My daughter had over 20 to choose from and was encouraged to try on as many as she wished, she was in her element...we came away with some beautiful leos.I highly recommend to anyone looking for the perfect pair of dance shoes or new dance wear to stop in, you will be pleased you did!Amelia & Kate from NZ

Great store for dance shoes! Especially if you need pointe shoes. They know there stuff and make sure you get what you really need.

Ive been coming here ever since I started dancing on pointe. The staff is great, especially Jenny, and they always take the time to make sure your fit is perfect. Occasionally they dont have my specific shoe style and size, but for people with regular sized feet instead of my perpetually 11-year-old sized feet that shouldnt be a problem. The leotards are amazing too--they carry studio uniform leotards if you need that, or regular leotards if you just want to buy one. Sometimes theyll run out of a particular item after a busy season (go before the summer starts, not after, because thats when everyones stocking up for summer intensive programs), but besides that theyre absolutely amazing.

I was visiting california from atlanta georgia. I had a very poor experience in Atlanta getting fitted and ended up with poorly fitting shoes. I decided while i was in town to go in for a pointe shoe fitting, and miss Erica was so patient and thorough with me making sure I found the perfect shoe. Best experience Ive ever had with any dance store. I would highly recommend coming here for any dance needs.

When I went there for my first pair of pointe shoes, Jenny directed me to a pair and then I tried them on, not knowing anything about how pointe shoes are supposed to fit, she told me they looked good. I spent 100 dollars on these, but a week later, I went to class to use them and my achilles started to feel numb and my friend, who has been on pointe for years told me there should be room at my heels where the satin bunches up, but it didnt. I ended up having to go back and get them a full SIZE bigger and didnt get a refund for the first ones. Long story short, dont get fitted by Jenny, she doesnt care about finding the right shoes for a dancers feet and just wants to make the sale. Go to Elsa, the older lady who really cares for each and every dancer that comes through the door and has years upon years of experience.

Fitters are en pointe. Literally i bought ill fitting gaynor shoes FROM gaynor in New York and the Dance store knew immediately what was wrong. Now I can dance without pain! And I know traditionally you should sew your own shoes but for $20 theyll sew impossible gaynors in a few days! Love it

Im from Glassell Park and I attend Pasadena City College for dance classes. I usually try to find stores that are around my area like GiGis Dance Closet, and even though the lady there can point you out to anything you are looking for, her attitude is dry and pushy, a very uncomortable presence. I took the chance to travel a little further to culver city and found this store. i can not talk about this store enough, I LOVE IT! the selection is huge better than any store ive been to. Im plus size so i have a hard time finding things that will fit comfortably but not at this store, they have it all. the only thing i hate is that its not closer to my home. Best people to help you find what you need and best of all, you can relax and breathe! no worring about being asked if you are going to buy anything and pressured to leave, they make you feel like its ok to look and not buy anything, but why wouldnt you.
