Came in today to get a document notarized and sent out. People working behind counter were very nice and quick. Much better than ups or fedex.

I really rarely leave reviews for businesses on yelp but in this circumstance I feel a moral obligation to say something and warn others.I came here with my mother to get some notary forms signed and the lady at the desk (she claimed to be the manager) told us the price per signature. When we expressed confusion and surprise at the price per signature, she told us that it is California state law and that it is not possible for businesses in CA to charge less. This didnt make any sense to me and when i asked for clarification she restated -- this price is set by the state we are not allowed to charge less. She then went on to say that there is no place that will charge less than their price per signature in our state.Of course I looked this up and it turns out that the state of California sets a MAXIMUM that notaries are allowed to charge. vendors are allowed to charge less and theyre are other places that presumably do so. When I confronted her with this, she kept repeating -- the state of California determines our price. This isnt true and she implied that there is no other place in the state that will charge less than them. In other words, she lied (definitely implicitly but I would also say explicitly). I would also mention that she was (understandably) very rude when I confronted her about this deceptive practice (I dont fault her, I probably took her off gaurd).To clarify, I have no issue with them charging whatever price they want or trying to make money as a business. Buisness are allowed to charge whatever they want and customers have the right to take their buisness elsewhere. My issue with this business is that lied to my old, immigrant mother to make it sound like she couldnt get a cheaper price anywhere else in California. I asked for clarification and again they kept repeating the same thing over and over. What would have happened if I wasnt there to advocate for my mother? In my opinion this is deceptive at best though i would say its blatant lying. I would discourage others from supporting a business that encourages deception to sustain its business model.

No Way Joswey...Small independent mailbox shop. Pretty straight forward if you like the prices, you shop. If you dont, you can use your body and break the third dimensional plane and walk past the door and go elsewhere.
