I normally love shopping here, but today’s visit was disappointing. I came at 11:00am and store is closed. According to sign and answering machine they are open from 10:00am-6pm. This is very disappointing.

I find this store not very welcoming. For one, they have a sign that asks you to knock because there is no one actually mining the store. They are usually in the back hoping to hear you knock on the door. Then you are greeted by a barking dog that they like to keep unleashed within the store. When you say you want the dog away from you they just walk away and dont bother opening the door. Im guessing business is great since they dont seem to care about their potential customers.. ......RESPONSE- well you said it yourself, you have no employees so Im not sure how you manage a supply store with no employees.As for your dog, when the person came to the door (with the barking dog) I waved the dog away because I did not want to come in with the dog barking at me but since the employee didnt bother to open the door to inquire further as to if I wanted to come in or not, I didnt bother to knock again. Its just bad for business to have a loose dog roaming the store no matter how friendly they seem.Not to mention the clothes you sell could potentially have dog hairs on it which some people may be allergic to.

Tiny place, has limited amount, a bit behindPlace in LA are better . But in the valley, seems to be the one to go to

This is one of those rare old school martial arts stores, anyone who buys enough gear along the way knows when checkinv out a supply store that its mainly a question of how many things am I going to look at here that are quality vs how much is bogus. In my experience most martial arts supply outlets will have only 0-10% of solid practical gear for sale, most of it being ultra cheap knockoffs that are meant to hang on someones wall after they toured Chinatown or Little Tokyo. My experience here, and Ive bought 20+ items from the store over time, is that about 30% of what they sell is sturdy and practical, another 30% is sturdy, but more for looks than practical, and 40% fall in the will break or malfunction on the second or third clean strike category. In general, the advice given in purchase has been good, and the people behind the desk, although not 100% knowledgaeble of their products quality on the end game, can be trusted to steer you in the right direction.

Best one stop shop for everything art. Minus one star for pricing but seriously - they have everything!
