Unbelievable meal. Phenomenal service. Everything and I mean everything was amazing. Had starters of oysters and burrata. And the filet mignon followed by the duck fat, potatoes and cauliflower. Jose cocktail was unbelievable and they had it on fire! The dessert was unforgettable. But best of all...the filet mignon. Best steak ever! Crisp exterior, tender inside, seasoned to perfection.

I bought a gift card from Gwen for a good amount. I was charged $12 dollars for health fee which isn’t a problem, A good amount of places in La charge that fee but to charge it on the gift card ?!? And then I am sure the same fee is going to apply to the person I gift it to makes no sense I understand if I was dinning in or buying something from the butcher shop but for a gift card

This restaurant is amazing! Im glad I came here to commemorate my 21st birthday. The atmosphere looked to be wonderful and great. In addition, the workers gave me with excellent service. This restaurant is outstanding! I adore their interior and exterior decorations. The food is excellent, with a unique presentation style that astonishes me. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with soothing music playing throughout. This isnt just another restaurant; its extraordinary. I really advise all to use them.

The greatest part of this restaurant is the way they treat their customers. Their top priority is customer loyalty. The food and service were excellent, and I couldnt have asked for much more. My boyfriend and I are having a great time there. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

I’ll start off with this is a beautiful building, the staff was top tier, and the food was delicious. We came in for an anniversary. Looking over the menu the costs seemed rather fair being the steaks were around 40-50 dollars. We were offered a new option that was not on the menu yet which was a taster menu. The food came one item at a time. 2 smaller charcuterie plates, followed by 2 small side salads and a large additional salad, a small bowl of potatoes and two smaller cuts of nice steak. While it was all delicious I wasn’t expecting the cost to be $180 per head. Seeing how the highest menu item was no where near this even with an additional side. It was just unfortunate to not have this mentioned (yes we could have asked, but assumed it would be within reason to the prices on the menu) anyways it was a great place and a great night just not worth $475 for two people (food, 2 old fashioneds, and a dirty martini)

It was amazing. We’d been to Maude several times, but this was our first trip to Gwen. The food was outstanding. From the stecca bread with hand churned butter, to the meatball sandwich and hangar steak, to the duck fat potatoes and roasted cauliflower, to the lemon curd and chocolate rhubarb desserts, everything was just perfect. My only criticism is that the meatball sandwich was too generous; we had to take two thirds to go. Overall, though, it was just a fabulous experience. Sit at the chef’s counter if you can; the chefs are friendly and it’s fascinating to watch them work.

Great service and drinks were great. Top shelf used only. Apps were delicious. Very flexible when we said we would rather sit at the bar and eat instead. Vibe is romantic and hip at the same time. Covered outside seating. They get harassed by anti meat eaters as it’s also a restaurant that butchers it’s own meat. Moderately priced except for the meats as they are raised and brought in from Australia. Bread is fresh and butter perfect. Would def return.

The servers here are amazing and seem to have incredible memories. This is where we wanted to have breakfast. Really, it was a great start to our day. We enjoyed both the food and the environment. A butcher shop thats much more than a butcher shop. Enjoyed a 5? (It was good so did not really count) course dinner on the eve of Christmas here. The menu was well thought out and every dish was absolutely delightful. The steak was nothing short of amazing. Perfectly charred exterior and medium rare inside. Temperatures were spot on and the smell was heavenly. Would definitely come back when back in LA. Highly recommended!

Every detail of our experience was perfect. We were greeted pleasantly and promptly, seated in a lovely spot, and served attentively. Each server was personable, friendly and well spoken. We elected the 5 course meal. Each course was explained, the sommelier would visit with recommendations and notes on pairings and we were able to enjoy the meal at a leisurely pace. The food was exquisite! Beautifully presented & prepared to utter perfection. At no time did we want for seasoning. The combinations are seasonal, fresh, and multi-faceted. This is a dining experience to be repeated!

Great restaurant showcasing full use of an animal. The Argentinian style grill adds a nice depth to the flavor of the cooked meat. It is pretty neat that you get to select your own steak knife and the bone marrow caramels cannot be skipped! I repeat, do not skip those.

Went on a Wednesday night, good amount of crowd. We sat at the chefs table that offers a view of the kitchen and seeing the interworks off dish preparation.Staff were friendly and attentive. We had the tasting menu, Taste of Gwen, plus wine pairing. Sam was accommodating about the portion of the pour because one of us have to drive home and a generous charge to reflect that.Food was comparable. They specialized in artisan, gourmet deli meats.Good place to try. They also recently added a la carte dishes along with their tasting menu.

A great night out! We went there for our anniversary and lucked out because Curtis Stone was coming that night 😁 The lamb shank with chimmichuri rojo dish is delicious and would recommend sharing it with someone since it is quite large and rich. The steak portions are large so think twice before ordering one just for yourself. Lovely service! I wouldve liked smaller portions for the dishes so that we couldve tried more things. Great date night spot.

This was really good but the portions I thought were really small. Yes, I know its gourmet but still. Super tiny and barely enough to share. To give you an idea, we ordered a bunch of stuff from the menu and we were 4 in the party. For the entrees, we would all get about 2 oz of the food that we were splitting. Thats about it. The apps were like 1 oz each because we were doing a taster of our own. So give or take entree meal sizes were roughly 8 oz and apps were like 4 oz..The choose your own steak knife was my fav part of the evening so that gets a bump!

The attendants were quite attentive, very knowledgeable with the menu, willing, and helpful in guiding guests to decide their orders. Great food and staff! The restaurant is very clean and elegant. The food was awesome at this restaurant! Lasagna, Chicken Piccata, and pizza are my favorite dishes here. As far as I am concerned, all the dishes are very tasty. Theyre pretty spicy, but I love spicy food and I can eat a lot of it. I still order some dessert aside from this. Theres a wide selection of desserts at this restaurant. I like it here, really!

Great atmosphere, live music and a little hidden from the the mall crowds. I had always passed by here and it looked a bit too fancy but in going inside I felt very welcomed. We just had a big dinner so we decided to go in for drinks. I got the Mojito which was amazing. Citrusy and sweet with a freshness of mint- Delicious! We were interested in having some wine so the bartender poured us a few samples and knew exactly what he was serving us! He explained each drink with detail including small facts about the winery it came from. All in all this was a great experience. No wait, live music, and informative! Thank you bartender with the blond curly hair and thank you O & V!

Just ordered my first, last and only takeout from this place. Ordered a soup and two burgers. The soup was a joke of a less than a half filled pint cup (pic attached) and two cold, dry, hastily thrown together burgers. I complained to the delivery service, who said too bad but theres nothing theyll do since the food was delivered. Too bad, I thought the butcher shop was all right. Now I get why the dining room was always empty even before Coronavirus.

I had the 5 course meal with pork. It transcended any description I can possibly give. Perhaps the best food Ive ever eaten. The staff were incredible, quick, thoughtful, and friendly. The atmosphere was beautiful and warm. I also had the meal with a litte pinot noir, champagne, and hard cidar. Every bite was an experience. And I have never tasted pork prepared so well. I laughed with my date out of joy and mirth all dinner. A wonderful experience.

Gwen was a complete disappointment. Having such great reviews on various platforms I was excited to try this restaurant while on vacation. Upon arriving the restaurant was completely full however there was room on the patio. While sitting at the patio you cant order the tasting menu and are forced to order from the menu. The waiter serving my table was extremely slow. To the point I was sure he forgot our drinks. The service to the table was also extremely slow taking over 2 hours to get the food from the point we sat down to eating. One of my dishes the waiter forgot to order. The gnocchi was hard and came with a mere 3 pieces. The main attraction of Gwen is that its a specialty butcher shop specializing with its meats. Again even here the restaurant fell short. The ribeye cut was horrible full of fat - Im not even sure how they justified serving it. Also the meat lacked any taste whatsoever. Unfortunately my experience at Gwen that evening was not isolated as 4 other tables outside were extremely upset and disappointed with 1 cancelled their entire order having waited 1.5 hours with no food yet to come. Gwen was a complete disappointment between the lack of quality service and under satisfying food - even if I paid half the price I did I still would have been disappointed.

Enjoyed the very well crafted degustation menu coupled with the friendly and capable table service. Really enjoyed the foie gras terrine and the pork main course. The 30 day aged bone in ribeye was good but not as tender is it could be.

This place is absolutely amazing. The food, the ambience, the staff, it was all great. We had the 5 course menu with a 30 day aged ribeye steak and the braised lamb shank.The flavors of each were so amazing. The lemon juice on the lamb really cut through the meat. The ribeye was fabulous. The wine selection was amazing too.I would definitely come to this place again. I recommend it to everyone who loves great food.

I had the most amazing experience of celebrating Fathers Day at Gwen. Our server Jimmy ensured that every need was met. He constantly brought refills throughout our dinner and made sure that our dining experience was top-notch. In addition, he was extremely accommodating. We will definitely be coming back! Gwen takeout was great! Gnocchi was delicious even tho we did not get to enjoy the ambiance as usual. Ate the pasta in the car because couldn’t afford for it to cool off!

Went to Gwen last September to try their 3 course menu and it was amazing! They didn’t have a la carte back then but now they do. The only thing that I didn’t enjoy too much was the cucumber starter, not a big fan of cucumber so it was difficult for me to have it. Mains were delicious, poached fish was cooked to perfection. The dessert was a WOW as I never thought I would enjoy rhubarb that much, the flavours were very nice and you pretty much won’t be able to tell that it’s got rhubard in it. Good value for a 3 course menu and would definitrly go back again. And if you’re lucky, you can see celebrity chef Curtis Stone working in the kitchen!

Went for a friends birthday, drinks were on point but the tasting menu had a few misses.-The charcuterie plate was spectacular, with the duck speck being my favorite.-We added the ceviche, which was good, but nothing special.-The mushroom pasta was perfectly al dente, but I felt like the sauce could have gone a bit more cheesy for savoriness or brightened with some acidity.-There ended up being 3 New York strip steaks with varying levels of enjoyment, which shouldnt happen given they were all the same cut.-Dessert was nice, but they really need an extra spoon of ice cream to go with it.Overall the quality and service were nice, but just missed on a perfect score.

Food is great. Staff are extra careful — they wear mask and clear vellum face mask. Atmosphere outdoors feels almost normal. Visited 3x so far. Dessert and Americano are delish. If you eat here, check out the second floor... really beautiful and cozy tent installation, wine locker, separate bar and kitchen, bocce ball props, upstairs patio seating. Elevator for wheelchair access and strollers. It’s nice that the bathroom is not so close to the kitchen either.

Ive now had the great pleasure of dining at Gwen twice in as many months. This is easily one of the premiere restaurants in Los Angeles if not the country. Gwen is outstanding in every way, yet also relaxed, comfortable and not pretentious in the manner of a number of places in LA. The staff is incredible. Warm, genuine, happy to be there and to take care of you. There are many to mention but Kamden, the manager, and Allen, my waiter both times, are simply the best.And then the food. Ive done the tasting menu both times and, believe me, this is the best value in town with the best food you can eat. $85 for 5 amazing courses (not small) as well as the best bread and butter you will ever have in your life. No joke. Last night one of our party was a bread maker (really good bread) and he admitted it was beyond even his. On the tasting menu, you get both items from the menu (perfectly cooked steak and their dazzling side dishes) but you get special items as well that are not on the menu. Both times, for instance, featured a pasta course; each was the best pasta Ive had in years.They also dont rush you unless you have a time constraint. We had lovely relaxed meals of about 3 hours each time and we didnt want to be anywhere else.Gwen is special. And a marvelous taste sensation.

Very disappointed by the lack of quality control and Safety Consideration by meat handler. Purchased 4 NY Wagyu totaling over $400 on Sat mid afternoon and refrigerated to serve Monday evening and discovered the fat trim had turned some blue on all pieces with an awful odor. This is two hours before guest arrival and cook time and so rushed to call and spoke with Teresa which requested photos and offered to only replace items. Had to drive 30 minutes out of my way to pick up replacement cuts. very disappointed.

Michelle and I went to Gwen on Saturday night and Gwen is a great restaurant. The service is outstanding and the food even more. Comforting food... never felt “full” even after dessert. Micheal our waiter ...thank you for your attentive service. We can’t wait to try Maude perhaps before Christmas.

Had one of our most memorable dinner experiences at Gwen! The staff and ownership are second-to-none, not to mention the food is unbelievable! Returning to Southern California in September, will definitely be back!

The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. I was unable to get the tasting menu so I had a New York strip. Its was a beautiful prepared and delicious piece of meat. That being said it wasnt the elevated experience I thought it would be. Ill definitely go back and hopefully the tasting menu will really prove me wrong

Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish! Service was incredible and my partner and I received complimentary drinks for our anniversary celebration! We had the lamb ribs and lobster role, then duck breast, hanger steak and duck fat potatoes. The steak was phenomenal and cooked perfectly but have to say the lamb ribs were the best part of the meal. Perfectly tender and juicy with amazing flavor and not too much fat. Highly recommend to everyone

Went to this place for a bachelor party. From start to finish everything was fantastic! Our server (Asian guy which I cannot remember his name) was amazing. Im not sure how long it took him to memorize every small detail about everything down to the steak knives but his presentation was impeccable. Curtis, one of the owners, was making his rounds regularly to greet all of his customers as well. Super nice guy. Majority of the menu was a bit pricey but there were items on the menu as well that werent all too badly priced either and well... I couldnt find a single bad thing to say about any of the dishes we ordered. I dont normally do fine dining but if I am ever in the area and wanted to spend a pretty penny on dining, Ill prob come back here. This place is worth it.

I expressed my upset to Lucas (and gave him my annual holiday gift of a bottle of nice champagne) and his response was sorry we do our best.
