I can never go back to the usual. This place is the burger joint for me. The classic was great, but the better one was the big one. The meat patty was massive. I barely fit the burger in my mouth. The meat was flavorful, unlike flavorless meat at other places. The meat was not too fatty as well, which was nice. The meat was meaty! Also, there was no other stuff in the burger, like lettuce and tomatoes. The fries were good. The only recommendation is that the burger should be fully wrapped on the top with waxed wrapper as well when they are places in the bag because the napkins, paper bag, and even the bag for the fries got stuck on the cheese and the burger meat, and so I had to carefully peel them off my burger before eating it. I did not want to eat any paper. Anyways, it was fun and delicious eating the meatiest burger in L.A. although it was not cheap. But here, you really do get what you pay for.

I’ve been sleeping on this place. A classic double and fries is only $11 which is a pretty incredible price for LA. This beast was filling and absolutely delicious. The quality was outstanding. Very much looking forward to coming back and trying other menu items.

Had their Royal burger with fries. The burger was among the best Ive had and the patty actually melted in my mouth. The only problem was the bag they gave me melted from the burger juices before I could get to my car. regardless I will definitely be back.Update: I went again today, now burgers are double wrapped.

I had the Royale. It is an amazing well rounded burger. It is juicy without being greasy. The burger is meaty without overpowering the experience it is instead balanced so every ingredient shines. Not only was the food fantastic but Jose, one of the employees, went above and beyond, taking care of all the customers, being super communicative and friendly. I think this is the best burger my fiancé and I have ever had and the steak frite was also incredible. the customer service was really the cherry on top. We’ll be back again wotj our family and friends.

Alvin is the real Burger King and Fry king too. Classic double is a must, the DH is also a must. Everything is a must for that matter. Great tasting and high quality food. Their name says it all.

Hands down the best smash burger I’ve had in LA. This burger looks simple, but it’s exploding with all the best flavors of a burger. The meat is crispy and juicy at the same time, the cheese is the perfect consistency, and the bun is extremely fresh.The fries are phenomenal as well. Perfectly fried and salted just right. They remind me of a higher quality McDonald’s fries when you get them fresh out of the fryer.Will absolutely be back

Amboy is as good as it gets.The DH burger is the best burger of all time- NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.Only draw back is the atmosphere. Theres really no place to sit and comfortably enjoy it. Get it to go, and hurry home with it.I am a Burger freak, and super critical of any hamburger place. Amboys DH burger is the best burger youll ever have.

Absolutely insane! So, so good. We got the Royale, Grizzly, and AMBOY fries and everything was truly incredible. If you’re a burger lover making your way through all the burger spots of LA, this is an absolute must to be added to your list. This is my new fave spot and I’m excited to pick something up from their deli meat selection next time too!

Oh my god.My personal favorite has been Burgers Never Say Die. Until just now.I’ve never craved the meat specifically in a burger til this burger.I can recommend the Picante, and it’s not too spicy- more zingy and peppery with a small kick.

This is hands-down the BEST burger I have ever eaten! My son took me here on the spur of the moment, and we ordered 3 burgers to share. The DH Burger with its huge handmade patty was my favorite, so juicy and flavorful! The Classic Double is better than anything In-n-Out could have imagined! The Ordinaire is just that, simple and basic, but when you have the best meat, cheese, and a great bun you dont miss all the other stuff.I plan to go back and try the Picante burger, if the others are any indication it will be incredible! We ordered and picked up so we could eat them hot and fresh outside on the bench, the employees take safety seriously, masks are required and only 2 inside at a time. Well worth the trip!

Amboy is the newest player on the LA burger scene and its an instant contender in my opinion. From Alvin Cailan of Eggslut fame, the new butchery and burger shop is located in the Far East Plaza in Chinatown and they have some badass burgers and fries. The Classic Double is two high quality smashed patties with cheese, caramelized onions and a special burger sauce served on a toasted sesame seed bun. It feels high end gourmet but for only 10 bucks and a side of fries, seems like a steal in the end. So next time you find yourself in the area, save Howling Rays and LASA for next time and grab a burger and a Snake River Farms steak for later from Amboy.

Went here with a few co-workers on a recommendation. Just be aware that they only take online or in-person orders, nothing over the phone, which is ok. The food was really good, but docking one start for customer service.My friend had to use the restroom so we asked for a token and was told they were out of tokens, but quarters can be used. We didnt have any change, so I asked if we could have a quarter since they were out of tokens. They asked for a dollar bill (smh). We were wondering why she was counting out change since it would just be 4 quarters. She then hands us the coins and says that she only has one quarter available (smh....smh).Since they are out of tokens, you would think they would replenish their stock. Even beyond that, after dropping $50.00 on lunch for three, youd think could afford to give their customer a quarter for the restrooms since they are out of tokens. Or, at least have a sufficient amount of quarters to break dollar bills. One can imagine how long they have been saying they are out of tokens, they might as well say they are out of quarters too.
