I visit a lot of used bookstores, and this one is amazing. i didnt even have enough time to fully explore it but i will whenever i visit again. the sections on showbiz particularly awesome, containing books ive never seen before. the store was clean but nearly bursting at the seams with books, which is not a thing any fan of used bookstores will find issue with. in addition, the staff was well-informed and kind.

I’ve been driving past this place for months and I finally stopped to take a look.You walk in and you’re immediately in a wondrous place. Stacks and stacks of books just waiting to be taken home! I was a bit overwhelmed at first, had to take a minute at the door and take it all in (I heard the next customer after me say the same thing lol). But once you’ve processed it, you never want to leave. The owner was out but I met his son who was handling the store, super nice! Will definitely come again.Logistics: parking is on the street but I didn’t have trouble (went on Saturday). The prices of books are generally inside of the book, first page, top right corner.Accepts card. Assume they also accept cash? Not sure.

My new favorite book store! And Tony is one of the coolest owners ever. So nice! Chats with everyone and helps you find what interests you. Also offered me expresso when I walked in. So many books to choose from so take your time! Street parking is fairly easy too especially on the weekends.

I stopped in awe of this store and was reminiscent of a kid with the wonder of this readers heaven, the owner is excited to help, and the material expansive, every pile had something good, and I happily spent a bit of money with no regrets, the inventory is varied and the owner is eager to help with genres and knows exactly where each tome is, from the cozy art of hygge, to Slim Aarons the possibilities are plentiful! The quality is very good!

The owner is very nice and friendly, he even asked if we wanted an espresso. Spectacular variety of selection. I guess we spent one hour and we didn’t even realize, it passed so fast! You can dive in to the book world and get lost. Definitely worth to check out!

My favorite gem of Los Angeles. Go to their movie events - they’re cozy and fun! You will feel like you’re in a secret club. Always warm, friendly, and you’ll walk out with more books than you meant to - glad to see them surviving the closures and hope they last well on!

Neighborhood gem of a bookstore. Eclectic mix of new and used books. It’s easy to get lost in the stacks here. Reminds me of smaller, neighborhood bookstores in SF & NY so it’s cool that we have one once again in LA! Tony & the Sideshow staff are helpful, affable, and knowledgeable. Park on La Cienega at your own risk but the side streets are solid. (I wish the city would clean the sidewalks more often but that’s a whole other ball of wax.)

I love this book store! They have a wide selection of books and everyone that works there is so personable. Amazing experience.

Very nice bookstore to wander and explore. Very clean and inviting. I love the staff recommendations and helpful comments on the books. Next time I will have to check out the huge basement travel section. The only drawbacks are narrow aisles, and that it can be somewhat difficult to find a specific book or author without a staff member.

My favorite place in LA, when I lived here I would go a few times a month after Artists Craftsmen across the street. The owner is a really great person & friend. I have quite a few great finds, odd & rare along with others I used for mixed-media art. Great place, I can’t stress that enough. I’ll be back in when I’m next in town from San Diego.

The store is sort of a love letter to books and the magic of literary discovery. Huge selection of hard to find, out of print books in every genre imaginable -- from Pulp, to film, to classics, to a kids section -- it has it all. The staff was very nice and helpful. Great prices. Amazing bookstore with great staff...the guy behind the counter gift-wrapped a book for me that I hadnt bought there, but since I bought a birthday card and had the book with me...he did me a solid. Forgot his name because Im a terrible person, but regardless Id recommend this place highly for staff and selection.

Great place for rare our used books at a great place. The staff knew EXACTLY where to go to find the authors I was looking for and even had a first print edition of a book I hadnt heard of from an author I like.

I love manga and old video games and my bf brought me to this place and I didnt want to leave lol. There was so much manga in English and Japanese! Some things were a bit pricey but thats understandable since some of the stuff is imported from Japan. I will definitely come back again!

Wish I could have spent more time here. Just popped in while the crew was loading the car next door. I was finding some really interesting reads, and the people who work there were super fun to talk to. I asked for a pretty obscure genre, positive sci fi, and the girl totally put some decent time into helping me try to find something via the Google etc. The beginnings of a great convo came out of it. Hope to drop by and spend some more time checkin out some of those titles. Thanks dudes!
