Really miss hanging at this spot. Such a special place with great service, awesome people, and delicious beer. The grapefruit radler beer is delicious. While they are to go right now, nothing beats chilling inside with the many other regulars who go to this place too.

Really enjoyed this intimate bar and shop. So many great beers to choose from with more than helpful staff to guide you through. There was a big screen showing the football as is the law on a Sunday! Great prices too!

This place reminds me of Portland. The bartender is know knowledgeable and the beers on tap is great!!!! They have board game to play and you can also buy your own beer and pay for corkage fee.

Our go to place to get beers and wine. A ton of variety when it comes to beer selection, something that a supermarket experience definitely can’t replace. A nice indoor bar if you want to hang along with a small outdoor smoking area.

Been coming here a few times on and off and no matter what, its a fun relaxing place. Get a beer from the wondrous selection, either take it home, or have it poured into a glass and drink at the establishment. Talk to others there, meet friends, or do some work there (if youre able).

Beer store - 4+ stars. Taproom - 2 stars. Great selection of bottled/canned beer and its not just IPA which I appreciate. The taproom vibe is nice and homey with games you can pickup and play and friendly staff. But the taps themselves need some love in my opinion. Ive been here a few times and likely will go again, but the taps always seem flat or uncleaned and for that reason Ill go buy a beer from the bottle shop to drink in house.

Super chill place to hang out, huge variety of canned or bottled drinks that are competitively priced. All drinks have a $2 corkage fee but when they are 2-4 bucks mostly, it ends up being just like bar prices on happy hour. During their happy hour there is no corkage fee. They have a bunch of board games you can play also.

The place is great and has awesome vibes! BUT, my only problem is how crowded it gets and really not a great place for a Hot summer day due to the closed space.

By far One of my favorite places to see whats new in the Craft Beer World. I can spend an abnormal amount of time digging through their shelves. As craft beer is so expensive theres nothing worse than buying a six-pack or a large $15 bottle and not liking it... Sunset Beer has single bottles and cans for you to mix and match some priced as low as a $1.19. They can be taken home or opened up and enjoyed on site. Theres an indoor seating area with couch and coffee table and theres a small outdoor seating area as well. staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. It gets crowded. Great place to mingle.

Unbelievably great staff. Ive been to a lot of bars. This staff are some of the friendliest folks in LA. They will walk you thru every selection you ask about. Geoff, Bob, Tray, Bless, Nicole, Eric...it just is top to bottom an amazing spot. Awesome group of regulars too. I couldnt recommend it more.

I enjoyed the selection of beers. The seating area is nice (they have some board games!) and there is a small outdoor area for smokers.

I give this spot two thumbs up. The service here is friendly. Prices are decent for the quality. Food is similar to a cafe in Indianapolis I loved.

I love this place. Pretty good selection of brews AND you can drink it right there and then! There is a corkage fee but they also have a happy hour where that fee becomes negligible. Pretty hipster for those of you that care about that kind of stuff. Parking sucks too but its a good notch on your belt, so make the effort.

I love this place. The last true local hang out spot in echo park. You get some outsiders here and there but you can tell who they are from a mile away. Great selection of beers too.

They have fridges and fridges of craft beers. So many unique labels and brands. The prices are reasonable. There is a $1 uncorking fee, as a heads up, so dont be too enamored by the $3 bottle of beer with the cool name.That aside, this is a great place to bring friends, go alone, or bring a date. There are board games for you to play, and it never gets so crowded that its uncomfortable.

I am amazed that so many people rate this bar so highly. I am quite familiar with the hipsters in Los Angeles and realize that Sunset Beer Company is in the absolute epicenter of the hipster areas, but they dont need to go out of their way to play the part. What I mean by this is that the employees all had a holier than thou attitude, and were acting like they were doing customers a favor by being there and couldnt be bothered to help answer any questions or even serve the people waiting in line. I was very put off by this experience so didnt stick around, but I will say that they had a pretty good selection of beer bottles to go and the space was cool inside, although the clientele had the same sort of attitude as the staff. This of course isnt the fault of Sunset Beer Co., just stating that its not my scene, I guess because Im not scene enough.

Great Concept!! You can buy any beer you want in the beer store thats attached and bring it over to the lounge area and theyll Pour It Up in a glass for you for a $2 corking fee or you can buy draft beer from them and they have all kinds of great craft beers there.. the lounge area is very spiffy widescreen TV good music Id say go... this is one of those diamond in the rough kind of places

All kinds of beers, I think you can drink one each day and not repeat for a long time the same. This is a Paradise for beer lovers. You can buy and take home or buy and open it and drink inside the place just paying like a dollar or two extra and enjoy the music.

Awesome selection for craft beer lovers, with over 200+ varieties and an excellent rotating tap. There is a small selection of wine but honestly the name of the place should spell it out for you. Stock comes in typically on Wednesdays so thats the best time to go for the first pick of the really good stuff. The staff is usually very friendly and knowledgeable as they are all avid beer fans. Make sure to ask around if you cant decide.There is also a large selection of board games to choose from, although many are missing pieces, understandable.4 stars out of 5 because1. the music selection is typically VERY weird and a little too obscure (see: hipster-esque) and...2. The seats in the lounge area are AWFUL. Please guys, get some better cushions or pillows.

Looks can be deceiving, which is so true for Sunset Beer Co. Located in the corner of a random strip mall parking lot, theres not a lot marketing this great little place except for a small sign above the dark door. But once you walk inside, you realize how AWESOME this place is. There are hundreds of craft beers and you can choose to take them to go or pay a $2 corking fee to sip there. Its always been chill the times Ive gone, and its fun to find new beers!

Sunset Beer has a nice collection of craft beer. You could purchase a bottle to take home or have it there for a two dollar corkage fee. The corkage fee is waived during the week from 4 to 7. They have a small parking lot that is shared with other businesses. Your best bet for parking in the evenings and weekends is street parking.

I remember they had a really good selection of craft beers and knowledgeable staff that I liked to ask for their recommendations of good beers. Only problem AND from what I hear it still is is the parking. Small lot + a crowd of people makes parking difficult.

Enormously wide selection of beers for takeout or to drink in their taproom (added corkage fee). Staff is super nice and helpful. Seating is often limited on weekend nights due to how dope this place is.

Solid place. The Bottle shop is great, good selection, prices work.The Tap room is through a doorway.Good: The bartenders are chatty and fun, the stuff they have tapped is good and varied. Im not sure the board games are working all that well at the expense of some extra seating, but it helps maintain a casual atmosphere.Gripes: a bit too-dimly-lit at night, the single-occupancy bathroom can be a wait, and if theres a discrepancy in price between whats written on the chalkboard (where you order) and whats on the bill, they wont honor the price written on the chalkboard. Not a huge deal, but if you buy a few rounds for friends and its an extra two bucks per pint, and the bartender goes, yeah, its actually eight each, sorry man, thats annoying. But empathizing and making good with a customer is kind of a bygone era, so you pay it because theyre busy, and you dont want to look like Larry David.The vibe here is like a lot of places in the area now: the employees like working there, they make it feel like hanging out, and its a fine place to be for a bit. But its up to you to cater to the way the shop does things, in order to keep the friendly and chill vibe going.

Good beer selection, both in cans and on tap. Though the seating inside is a bit weird and uncmfortable. Pew style for most of it with random coffee tables that dont match in height and high tables with stools that also dont match in height. Makes it not the most appealing or comfortable place for an extended stay.

I give them the 4th star because they send great beer updates and get some good stuff in, but otherwise Id be inclined to give a 3. Most of the good stuff they get in is gone ASAP, and they dont sell any cold 4 or 6 packs. Nice rotating taps and overall good vibe, but not the best beer selection in LA as some have touted if you ask me.

Amazing selection. Buy something from the shop and carry it through the doorway to the bar to be opened if you want to enjoy your bev right away. Or choose from any of their picks on the rotating tap. Try to make it to a beer launch party - these draw a fun and interesting crowd which makes for the best Guess Who? tournaments.

This place has such a wide variety of craft beer. The craft beer is not just from local breweries. Theres beer from popular breweries in other states like Maine, Oregon, and even imports from countries! Popular breweries like Allagash, Deschutes, etc! You can grab the beer and sit down to chill with friends, play board games, or pay for the beers and just go home to chill because its that easy! Super casual place.I was so amused with the craft beers at this location that you cant get at grocery stores, even Bevmo. If you are a beer fanatic, I would highly recommend stopping by this place.

This is my GO TO spot. Always an amazing selection of beer and wine. Corkage fee isnt too shabby. Plus you can can beer from the bar for no corkage fee. Back patio is a good place to socialize with locals too.

Today was my first time going to this place. Haha, I was at the market across the street buying fruit when I seen their sign, Beer on Sunset plus with a Stone IPA delivery truck parked outside on the street and so I was convinced. Once I stepped inside I immediately knew I was in heaven! The prices are just fantastic and the different varieties of select brews are just to die for. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and did I mention the bar/seating area? Well its just how youd imagine it to be! I would recommend this place to anyone who likes good beer and warm environments! Dont let the opportunity pass! Thanks.

My date and I recently had a night out in Echo Park and decided Sunset Beer would be a good way to cap the evening, Everything was going good until we watched as the owner(?) ejected two individuals.Dont know who these guys were or what they did, but staff was extremely unprofessional in how they handled it. Nothing but screaming, obscenities and cursing the entire time before following the two out into the parking lot screaming, more profanities. It was embarrassing.Ruined the night which had been nice up to that point. Not really wanting to go back now out of concern we might be subjected to same treatment over something trivial.Good beer selection but just dont feel right spending money in an establishment that has some serious customer service issues. One reviewer said they reminded him of friends they grew up with? Staff behavior brought uglier memories to mind unfortunately.

Its alright. When its slow they play good music but when it gets busy its mostly hipster/indie. Large beer selection and comfy seats. Smoking area you can bring your drinks out. Not fond of the drink charge (2$ per drink extra) but no charge mon-thur 4-7.

If you love beer, GO HERE. Best beer selection in the area, with some of the nicest bar tenders around. Dont fret! The selection is a little overwhelming, but you can always ask for help. Be prepared to fall into a boozy, slippery slope of becoming a beer connoisseur.

Terrible patrons, prejudiced staff. Made the mistake of choosing this spot for my birthday because from my previous visits I thought it was a beer geek place. Its not. Its a place that enables and protects the worst of trust fund gentrification culture in Echo Park.We were minding our own business on the patio and a crew of hipster kids started smashing glasses around us while hooting and hollering. The useless bouncer didnt do a single thing about it. We tried to ignore them and have a good time.Eventually, the bouncer came out to tell us he heard there were a lot of glasses breaking and the next broken glass would get the patio shut down.So of course, these people broke another glass... When that happened, we left the patio, ready to order more drinks at the bar when the bouncer said WE had to go. Why? Bc the bouncer claimed he heard my friend disrespect the group of people who had been smashing glasses all night.What did my friend say that to warrant this?He said... What?Those people who had been breaking glasses all night told him to take a walk when we got up to go inside and my friend responded.... What?Thats it.Yeah, him saying What? was the breaking point for this bar... not the smashed glasses, not the screaming, not the aggressive attitudes of these other people.Granted, we werent wearing the latest line of hipster couture... so that might have made us stick out, making us an easy target. Sorry, our bad?Never coming back to this place if the owner continues to allow this kind of behavior from people like that while kicking out folks who are trying to just have a good time.
