We decided to stop in for a fun karaoke night and was sadly disappointed. This place has a chill vibe but almost too chill. Walked in, sat at a table, watched the server come to a table to serve and chat multiple times. Never once acknowledged our presence. We brushed it off and I tried to order from the bar. One barmaid was intoxicated and unable to tend bar so relied on conversation instead of serving. Made my drink with grapefruit instead of pineapple. The other barmaid took our order and fixed my drink. No big deal. Menu has good concepts and seemed appetizing. Waited over 45 mins for an order of nachos and 2 sides of fries to come out ice cold. Sent order back to kitchen with intoxicated barmaid. Ordered another drink and a replacement of a water that was served to us in a glass with mystery floaters. Food eventually was replaced and rolled eyes followed it up when we asked for ketchup. The barmaid sobered up some as the night went on and must have realized what we were actually dealing with, unnecessarily removed the cost of our food from our bill. Still tipped as we always do. This could be a great comfortable place if it didnt cater directly to its regulars. As a traveling RN, we are always looking for fun places to visit especially for group outings. This place was not inviting whatsoever. Cant help but notice we were the only blended couple and the only ones treated as outcasts. Not uncommon for this area. Deny it if you want but its TRUE and should be rectified. My husband wasnt even given the opportunity to sing karaoke after we were there for just short of 3 hours. Not one song. Its sad to me, after every hit humanity has taken especially in the service industry, that people are still so judgemental. That server and business would have made a substantial amount of money if they were even slightly welcoming. Do not waste your time or money. Go somewhere where all are welcome and spend your money elsewhere.
Best bar experience I have ever had. Bartenders where so nice and drinks at great price. This place has become my #1 bar and food is popular as well. Would highly recommend!!!!
Went there to celebrate a friends birthday and do karaoke and it was a great time! Good atmosphere! I had fries and they were great! The waiters kinda try to snatch ur drinks before you finish them though so watch out for that. Prices are decent I got two Moscow mules and a thing of fries for just over $15.
This is a fun place to go for karaoke, wings and other bar food. But on several occasions I have gotten a weird look from the server/bartender for not ordering an alcoholic drink. Overall a really fun place to go! Just ignore the funny looks if you dont order alcohol.
Kicked me out after I barely walked in to let my boyfriend know I was there for him. I had a 3 pound dog in a bag strapped onto my shoulder. Dog was asleep and not hurting or doing anything. But there were a ton of other People with dogs there. So they pick and choose who can bring dogs there. A couple pitbulls there maybe they should be more worried about bigger dogs then a 3 pound baby puppy being carried in a bag. Horrible
After having a great dinner, Michele wanted to go visit a karaoke bar nearby. She had never been to one and always wanted to go. So I gave her a smile and said, Lets go to Monkey Pants and off we went!For the next few hours we were entertained by all the people who went up and sang. From the somewhat quiet ones to the ones who had REAL talent, Michele and I enjoyed ourselves immensely at her first karaoke bar. We will be back!P.S.: Heather was our server and she did a fabulous job getting our drinks ready for us and brought out the food in a timely manner. She is a keeper.
This place has raw food & a horrible bartender! If you are not a regular then you will not get good service! Sat at the bar & still had to ask for another drink....twice sometimes cuz she wasnt listening to me until she was ready. They do have good bartenders, but not today!Yes, I was the only Latino there. Dont want to say it was racial discrimination, but it was! She was lucky I left a $2 tip! Last & only review cuz I wont be back!
This bar is built nicely to suit a lot of people but the customer service is below bar level. If you are a male, you will most likely not sing karaoke if it is your first time. The wait time at the bar is ridiculous as the bartenders choose who to server rather than first come first served. Waiting for 20 minutes is never ideal for a drink or for closing out, especially in the dying hours when there is barely any one there. This was a Saturday, their busiest day. I do hope other days they do much better due to lower audience.
Ive had more bad experiences than good ones here but last time kind of changed that a bit if you know what to expect. The wait is long, you might not get to sing. The karaoke host can be in a mood but considering its mill Ave. I get it. Wouldnt mind checking it out on a slow night and appreciate the 7 days a week karaoke. Locals that come here make it much better. Appreciate the staff they do their best!

Monkey Wing sauce (5stars) is on point but chicken is expensive 6 wings for 10.99 (wings price 2 stars)!!! smh the use to have 1/2 price on Tuesday.
Always a favorite for cheap drinks, with lots of options, and tasty food. The themed events are always a blast. The crowd is cool to mingle with, of all ages and types. And the staff is very accommodating and simply charming. We love them!
Monkey Pants is my son Seans favorite bar, so he invited us to meet him there for dinner and drinks. We’re so glad that we accepted his invitation! We found Monkey Pants’ to be the perfect place to meet friends or family. MP has warm lighting (not too bright or dim), a nice variety of music (played at a volume that doesn’t ruin conversations), and a very comfortable overall atmosphere. We ordered burgers and wings (they offer a wide selection of burgers and wing sauces!) and we all enjoyed our meals. I recommend getting there hungry and to sample different wing sauces. But the best part of our visit was MP’s staff. A very special shout-out to Heather, Tom, and Tasha! They were so warm and friendly to us we felt very much at home. Thank you three! If you’re looking for a nice meet-up place for friends or to take a date, give Monkey Pants a chance...I doubt that you’ll regret it.
Sarah took good care of me. The drinks were great the food quality was meh, didnt really care for it. It came out timely and was hot just didnt taste that good. The service is on point and the environment is chill.
Monkeypants doesnt appear much different than many bars. Yes, it has some crazy artwork, but like many bars it also has pool, karaoke, darts and a jukebox. What makes this place special is the staff. It is an everyone is welcome bar, but caters to a clientele a bit more advanced than the college bars down the street. It is very LGBTQ friendly. I am a transwoman and have felt welcomed and protected by all the staff and regulars. They have a pubgrub style menu, but everything is made with love. Come get to meet this amazing staff.I will say Friday and Saturday nights get crazy busy and it can take time to get a drink on those nights, but it is still worth it
Nothing makes you feel more welcome in a bar, than when a bartender remembers your drink and food order!!!Ive not visited here in almost 8 months! Yet, Rachel remembered my drink and very specific wing order.She made me feel comfortable and safe with the safety measures in place for social distancing. Its hard to be friendly and personable while wearing a face covering, but Rachel made it feel like normal.Highly recommend The Pants, and if Rachel is behind the bar. Youre in for a great time, filled with great service and conversation.

Place is pretty cool, a little gaudy but in a good way. Seems like a good local spot. Food was mediocre and took forever (just an appetizer) when almost no customers, service was slow.
Came in for wings and College Football today. Had a great experience, first thing I noticed was the Halloween decorations. Got great service from Rachel, and the wings were excellent as well. Happy to see all the protocols enforced as well.

It was so dark when I went inside to try and sit down to order food .. however, Kaley, the bartender, and her beautiful smiling face 🤗 lit up the room and suddenly I could see clearly .. I dont drink but the food is still great 👍

I had came here with a group of friends last night. Usually my previous experiences here have been pretty positive. Filled with great service and food. I haven’t been to Monkey Pants in a while. But last nights experience was not what I had expected. Service was horrible. I understand that bars are usually busier during the weekends.However, our service was unbelievable. Servers had walked past our table numerous times and didn’t seem to bother to follow up with us or check in to see if we needed anything else or another drink. I was informed that our servers name was Rachel as a friend had voiced his concerns with a manager . By the time the server has arrived to our table we had already finished our alcohol and were waiting to order.Thankfully, a manager corrected the issue immediately and exchanged the server and apologized for this. I didn’t get her name but we appreciated that

The food here was so good! The fries are really well done and the ranch is really a great pair. The wings are killer!Service is not what youd see in a standard bar & grill and we had a wired experience trying to get seated somewhere and get menus. A few signs would help if were supposed to seat ourselves.

What a fun little bar! Our server Rachel was really on top of things. We had a great time for my boyfriends birthday party.. the place was decorated so cute for Christmas!! The karaoke was a blast! I would definitely go back.
Definitely dont go for karaoke on Saturday nights. The DJ lets his friends sing all night. We went & didnt even get to sing. It could have been fun, but we went to have a good time and after 3 hours we were still sitting there waiting. Definitely go elsewhere. We wont be back.

This place has stood the test of time and that is a good thing. This place is a really cool bar and is an excellent, laid back environment and good place to go out and meet some people. Monkey Pants Bar & Grill does have a bit of a dive feel to it too. It is a very comfortable place.
Was recommended to come here. Nice little spot but wow the bartender is rude doesnt know a 4 count. At 1st figured maybe dad day or off so ordered another round to see. 2.5 seconds into pour she stopped. Maybe a 3 second pour for the 3 drinks we ordered. So please have her start using a shot glass because she is shorting the customers. This was last night.

The karaoke here is amazing!! Such a fun time. The drinks are extremely watered down however. I’d rather pay $10 for a great drink somewhere else than $5 for a terrible one here. That being said it’s a fun place and the waitresses and other staff are friendly and attentive so I would go with friends if I didn’t want anything to drink anything.
Nice bar, clean and cozy. The food was decent and the wait staff was attentive and pleasant. I went there with a group of about ten people and it was a good experience. The outside had places to smoke and there was a dart board. We went during the afternoon and it made for a nice experience for a team builder with co-workers.
Great atmosphere and good food, but do not wait to sing karaoke unless youre planning on tipping the karaoke host. She would not make eye contact with me while I was asking her if she had the song I wanted to sing. I asked her 3 times and she finally acknowledged me which was confusing because I was very nice to her. I waited 2 hours to sing and when it was my turn she asked to to come up to her computer and then told me she didnt have my song (Be my Girl by Jet). She had the song and I saw it on the list when I signed up. I really did love the environment here, but I went just for the karaoke so I will not be coming back.

If you love karaoke, drinks, and cheap bar food you need to head over to Monkey Pants! The bartenders are friendly and their awareness is impeccable considering how packed this place can get on a Friday/Saturday night. Never needed to ask for a refill as they kept the drinks flowing. In regards to the karaoke I recommend going when DJ A-A RON is there. He is the best! Knows how to get the party started and keep it going. Last time I went there was this female working the karaoke. Rude. Unless you tipped her $20 you were going to have to wait at least 57 minutes for your turn:Me: Hey why does that guy get to sing twice before I even sing once?DJ: He tipped me $20, thats whyLastly, I dont know what they do to their ranch dipping sauce but it is out of this world! Perfectly thick/creamy. Unreal! A must try with fries.All in all Monkey Pants is the place to be on the weekends for a good time, As long as there is ranch and DJ A-A Ron

Cannot beat their Tuesday Wing Night. A dozen wings for $5.99. They have great sauces and you can get the wings a bunch of different ways. I like them grilled so theyre fried and then grilled. Super crispy. They give you lots of ranch. But their other food is great too. Back when I used to drink Id take advantage of their really good drink specials. During the Christmas season they decorate to the nines and it is really a sight to behold. They wrap pretty much everything on the walls and the walls themselves in wrapping paper and string hundreds upon hundreds of lights everywhere. It is really amazing. They also have karaoke, stand up comedy, a couple pool tables and goldfish races! My favorite dive bar.

I love this bar but I have finally come to the end of my rope with it. It is known for its karaoke and its a great set up. Unfortunately, unless you know the karaoke host or tip them a good amount of money you will be skipped. I am an avid karaoke goer and am disappointed with how they are running their gig.I was there for 5 hours ($300 bar tab for me and my friends) this weekend and didnt get to sing until about 1 am after someone in our party finally caved and tipped her. You go in order of the sign up! You should not have to bribe someone to sing. I will usually tip at the end of the night but having to pay to sing at a karaoke bar is ridiculous. This has happened to be multiple times but I go back and try to give it a shot because the atmosphere and bartenders are good.I hope the owner of the bar is reading the reviews and seeing this same complaint over and over.
The atmosphere is very unique. Its a dark, hole in the wall type place with a unique burger list. They have a fairly limited beer list and the waitress didnt seem to know what their happy hour was, even though it said it on the front door. The food was good and maybe Ill go back to try more food.
Been here twice a bit more than a year ago. The first time I was with coworkers and after no server came to take our order after a 20 minute wait we left.Since I was in Tempe for business and had nowhere to go for Christmas eve (and I liked the vibes of the place and figured they were just busy the first time around), I went there again and sat at the bar. There was Karaoke and the atmosphere was nice, but again both bartenders made me feel highly unwelcome, were very slow, constantly frowning at me, etc. I dont mind frowning bartenders, but they were nice enough with everyone else on the bar... So yeah. Not a pleasant experience.After that, every time I was in town for business I just went to Boulders on Broadway for a much more pleasant experience and a better selection of beers.
Great hidden spot.. Dark and old but really cool. Tons of regulars. Would recommend anyone looking for A dive bar type spot. Wings are a 5 star without a doubt. Cold beer and good wings.. Will be back

Friendly neighborhood dive bar. The bartenders are all super nice and make the drinks proper. Decent beer selection but nothing too fancy. 5 stars for the service, atmosphere and people. They have karaoke more than Id prefer but people like it. Goldfish races on Thursdays for a chance to win 20 off your tab and shirtless shots every night at 1am (take your shirt off get a free shot) The place is located on mill Ave but it is not on mill ave meaning down in the heart of amateur college drinkers, bro dudes and nine dollar beer night. Come on down for a cold one.

My go-to to hang out with friends. Its never terribly loud, the food is good and the drinks are made well. The bartenders are fun to talk to as well! We went one night for their comedy night and had a lot of fun watching some great talent take their stage.
Food was amazing especially on the Tuesday wing night, great cajun grilled wings and BLT. Drinks were not as expected. Titos and Sprite was $7 for a single short. Tall double vodke Sprite was $14.00, I have NEVER been anywhere where it was twice the price for a double shot which is not actually double at a BAR. NOT A CLUB, A BAR. So you charge me 3 drinks for 2. The young server was good, being his first week and entertainment was amazing with open mic.
After a wonderful evening replete with playing billiards, meeting amazing Karaoke performers (Glow) and savoring mouthwatering food and beverages, it can safely be said gay bars are not what they used to be. In fact, theyve evolved for the better! We arrived early on a Saturday night and within 90 minutes the monkey pants on everyone in attendance were moving and grooving to the live and let live ambience. Enticing stares from top grade A hombres could have easily been entertained had it not been for the fact that my S/O was with me and we are monogamous! The line-up of singers did not disappoint and the waitresses were on the ball making sure every patron was taken care of. Prices were in line with modest budgets, and next we visit, ordering something to eat will be on tap. For a small town ? gay establishment, it can honestly be said that Monkey Pants has a pair that will fit just about anyone. Including straights!!!
It was St Pattys Day and our group of 6 had no problem finding seating at 9pm. Place was alive with karaokee and bar was hopping. Bartenders took my order in very reasonable time. I have been highly impressed by service here before but it was outstanding on a holiday. Good wings, my shot pours were perfect. Full 5 stars for this place
Was recommended to this place shortly after I moved to the area. I love to karaoke and I was told this is the place to go. I love it. The karaoke song list isnt as extensive as Im used to but still has plenty of songs for all types of singers. Stick around till close and go around 8pm on Thursday. They do a lot of unique things here. They also serve food. Go check it out!
Hadnt been here in awhile. My business partner and I meet up here occasionally and like to sit on the couch on the stage, eat and drink and do a little strategic planning. Always great service and the burgers are pretty damn good! Definitely have to do the hunch to eat them! Will be back sooner than later!
