Im so sad this market has closed i have been going here since i was a little girl, i used to live 5 houses down back in the day. Coming from a filipino household besides the filipino grocery store this was one of the best places to go for fresh seafood, veggies and everything else.Jet and his family definently sparked the foodie in me as a young girl. You guys will be missed 💖💖💖
Good bang for your buck. Can find a wide variety of SEA products here at affordable prices. Also, can buy fish and have it fried for you on the spot.
I am staying close to here and get their food a lot. Its a little on the pricey side and I wish there was a little more variation dish options but the food is fresh and the service is good. Their prices dont really vary if you are getting a giant salad with lots of fish or a smaller burrito, which is a bit strange.
Stopped by during lunch to tryout their Delis. Got a 1 item Sesame Chicken + brown rice and some sweet potato fries. For the small space of what it is, still decent place to find uncommon healthy food stuffs and for convenience. Lovely eye candy spotted! Ding for the sweet potato fries having partially hydrogenated oil (ingredients on price sticker). :P
Wow! This place is amazing. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The store and butcher section is super clean. Lots of fresh fish and fresh vegetables available. It had everything I was looking for.
Im so ecstatic to find this neighborhood market near me!! A few items not available at other Asian markets in the area that I enjoy using regularly. Needs work on their quality of meat and fresh fish storage.. but overall, im content with the produce and dry goods.
Excellent groceries that could cover most of my need for Vietnamese cookings. I find myself come often every week. The staff are very friendly, from the butcher, the fish men, the cashiers, they remember you! There’s a family vibe going on at the store. I would love to see some decrease in plastic usage or less pre-wrap for perishable food.
This place was great but when I went yesterday it was permanently closed. See yelp reviews for confirmation. Hope they can open up in a diff location and I hope this review saves people like me who drove 40 mins in traffic to find that it was closed.
I gave this place 2 star because I supposed to get a fresd fish there but all there fishes didnt looked fresh. I have not been on this place for a long time, If you are looking for a nice seafood then I wouldnt recommend it. There vegetables are okay. This place isnt the same as before.
Definitely a unique experience. Im from Wisconsin and they dont have markets like this, at least where I am from. If you read my review, please hit the like. Thank you
A pretty good Thai and other southeast Asia grocery store, particularly for dry goods, spices, and other flavorings. The produce section is quite minimal, though there is a fairly decent meat counter
Thirty-five years ago, before the Internet and before Thai cuisine made its way on the American dining scene, this was the go-to place for all cooking supplies. My college roommates and I ordered from them via phone and they shipped curries, coconut milk, etc. to us at our college dorm in Utah! Great store!!!
They shouldnt have closed down so soon, this was the best Thai market in L.A. I first visited Bangkok Market in the mid 1980s. Nice feel to the place, bright, friendly and welcoming, and many interesting items in the store. Back in the 1980s (and the 1990s) they had live crabs, I remember those, and in the mid/late 1980s they gave away free calendars. For so many of us in this neighborhood, this was a very near-by place to buy fish, shellfish and meat, and some produce, and noodle soup packets, and some other things. In later years this was my place to find rare juices, like Calamansi juice, Basil Seed juice, and Mangosteen juice, and Kirin beer and some other beers. And for me/us it remained a place to buy seafood especially (fish and shellfish) and sometimes meat. You could buy fish that they would fry for you, though whatever fish we bought we usually cooked them at home instead of having them fried at Bangkok. Always very friendly people who worked here. Bangkok Market first opened in 1971 or 1972, back then they were located on the south side of Melrose. Early in the 1980s or so, they moved to the north side of Melrose where they remained. This store was a quite significant part of my childhood, my parents shopped here often and often theyd take me and my brother along: they would find some good fish and meat and produce and some other things and it was just down the block, the closest market back then. On the last day they were open, November 17th 2019, a Sunday (though I didnt know that was their last day open to the public, though I knew they were going to close, maybe in a few months) I bought a 6 pack of Kirin beer and walked home with it. The next day Monday they were closed, though some restaurants and cooks were able to buy a lot of the remaining goods for another week or so. I miss this market; the other Thai markets on Hollywood Blvd dont have the welcoming atmosphere or charm that Bangkok Market had.
Im a busy student that barely has time to complete my assignments and even less time to go grocery shopping to make food. This place makes the chore of grocery shopping nonexistent. I get my groceries so quickly and it saves me a trip to the store, which I use that time to actually prep and cook my food. I would highly recommend Los Angeles, CA for the busy student and even to parents that have kids they need to take care of.
Wow! This place is amazing. Everyone is friendly and helpful.
Pretty much everything (authentic) you need to put together a great Thai meal.
We buy ONLY pomfret, Fish is fresh/good. Make sure if one has to return any items. Not interested in other items. Sea food is good
A small market but very fresh produce. A lot of Thai snacks.
Cheap prices on the meat idleMost of the food there is corean. Their vegetables are always fresh. Few American products
I’ve been going here since I was 14 with my grandma. They have an amazing selection of Thai grocery items you can’t find at their prices anywhere else. The freshest thai chilies, thai basil, and lemongrass. It’s awesome. They have parking in be back too but it’s a bit of a cramped lot so drive in there carefully.
More than 30 years old of this market in Los Angeles city. They bring the most stuffs directly from Thailand with their brand name. I like their sweet rice brand, soft and new, I cant find anywhere sell sweet rice better than this market.
Love how u can buy and fry your fish in one trip. Easy for making dinner ❤
Amazing as always!! Thank you David for making us another beautiful sushi platter! Everybody loved it!!
Lots of great Thai and Asian Pantry Fare and fresh veggies at a great price and value!
Best place where you can get natural Thai food
Nice little place to buy asian groceries.. It has a lot of items, including different kinds of meat and fishes, fresh and frozen.. The staff is also very helpful and nice..
Great place to buy snacks, canned thai tea, and other asian groceries. Its dope been shopping the for years
Good pork belly cuts, friendly staffs and helpful. Prices is comparable to other thai market. They also provide parking.
Fantastic place. I can get all my thai groceries here!
A small place but they have a lot of awesome products at a very low price.😄
They have every Thai ingredient you can think of and the employees help you if your looking for a recipe. What Ive also notice the awesome looking fish in the meet department.
Im going to miss this store
Between this place and Zion Market I am one happy camper.
Amazing selection of Thai, Filipino and Malaysian food. One of a kind shopping experience
Great selection for quick grocery shopping
So happy I found this place. If you miss South East Asian food, go here
Alot of unique things that you may need and cannot find in normal markets.
Crowded parking lot. Narrow aisles, but butcher counter never stinks. Good selection of fish on ice.
Some of the worlds most beautiful cashiers work here. Great spot for coconuts.
So happy this place is here. I get so many must have items from them!
Fried fish is good they just need some tartar sauce and fries
I dont have a reference to compare it to but cleaner than other Asian grocers I have been to and competitively priced groceries. Fresh noodles were on point.
Little convenient store to buy Thai food ingredients
Not the fastest service but they are nice.
But the big question is, do they have any instant noodle soups Top Ramen style? thats what I wanna know. The indonesian ramen packs are the best, they can be found in some Thai markets.
This Asian market does not have a good selection of items. It has a really bad meat/seafood counter. The veggie/fruit section leave much to be desired.
Good place to go buy food
Amazing place with options for everything Thai, recipes in paper for all your favorites
Still the best Thai/Asian/Filipino market in Central West L.A.
Permanently closed (as of November 2019)
The best customer service by far! 2 workers offered to help me find the ingredients on my list to make pad thai ;). This far better service than Gelsons or Pavilions which is also very expensive. Sometimes workers in these American markets are even rude. The only area for improvement is the herb section. Today they were out of mint and last time parsley was under the tag cilantro, so i bought the wrong herb lol.
I went to Thai Supermarket in Garden Groove because my relatives said that its way more cheaper than LA. But Bangkok Market here actually provide me with same price
I just had the worst grocery shopping here. Honestly don’t know how do they get so many 5 stars rating.
Typical shopping mall with lots of department stores and smaller specialty stores. Nothing amazing but by no means bad either.
Nice exotic fruits, very pleasant cashier.
Decent size thai grocery store. Not too many produce choices.
A lot of thai products. Helpful cashiers
This is my go to place for fresh and reasonably priced meats and Asian vegetables! For years now!
Good place to get ingredients for Thai recipes. Check expiration dates
Good to have this store near, for fried fish and veggies, it is very convenient.
So many cheap and fresh product one
Excellent selection of produce and canned goods at outstanding prices. If youre making a Thai meal, you need to stop in.

Nice market.
Friendly staff, organized shelves.
Hard to find ingredients here.
You can found Asians secret ingredient here..
Always shopping at this Thai store hidden jim.
It is an Asian market but its selection of specific (Thai namely) ethnicities makes it somewhat limited in use.
I go to this place because they have what vegetables and fruits that I need and like.
Ive been in the neighborhood for 20 years I like there fry fish service
Wide selection of east asian foods
