My first fountain pen! I explained my needs (watercolor) and my experience (none), and the salesman (unfortunately forgot his name) helped me pick out an appropriate pen. We went thru several options and I picked out a Faber Castell. I love it so much and have been using it every day. Customer service excellent :)

Heaven for pen addicts! The service is always great and the people are always helpful. Theyve got an excellent amount of knowledge. Ive been coming here for years. The store is a treasure. If you still like putting pen to paper, you need to stop by. They have a lot of pens ranging from basic pens to beautiful high end classics.

Bought myself a nice pen there. made me wait outside and was told I had to wear one of their preferred masks. its not my first time buying a pen from here and it prob wont be my last but I just find mood to be a bit stuffy in there. for instance having a sales person follow and watch me as I browse is discomforting and gives the impression that I need to hurry up or of suspicion. nevertheless the pen selection is extensive and also carries most any station need you may have . pricing seems ok Everytime Ive gone I browse the separate case of pens on discount which is always a plus. store is clean welll kept and staff seems relatively knowledgeable. I like this place and you will to if u like fountain pens just wear headphones so u can drown out the pestering floor staff .

Ive been here about 4 times now. Theyre informative, kind, and personable people. In an area full of wealthy people and UCLA students, you run into quite a few pretentious people. Its refreshing to speak with down to earth sales men/women. Theyre patient to help you pick the right supplies you need (for me specifically - pens), and most importantly, not pushy. They have a great selection of pens, although they dont have Levenger (at least from the time of writing this review).

Reasonable pen and ink selection. Knowledgeable staff

Great selection of papers, inks, and pens that are well priced. I generally stock up on ink and paper here, but theyre my first choice for buying a fountain pen as long as Im in Los Angeles as well. The one negative thing I would say is that their ink swabs are a little lacking due to inconsistent presentation in the book, and very dim lighting. Definitely check out online samples if you feel unsure.

This is a beautiful store. With everything so digital today, it is nice to go a little bit slower and take time to physically write.

Was in LA on business and stopped after one of my conferences at UCLA to grab a few gifts for my nieces and sisters and nothing had prices on it throughout the store. The elderly woman (assuming the owner) barked at me when posed with questions I had about the merchandise. With large corporations and e-commerce competitors, one would think a smaller boutique environment would have been friendlier and clearly laid out. The ole-bitty should smile more and not judge ones appearance when I planned to spend money for my family. Wont be returning to this shop, unfortunately

This place is elegant and thoroughly stocked. Its nice to see a shop specializing in one thing and doing it well. It almost seems surreal to find a quaint shop like this in Westwood, Im glad to see they are thriving.

Great selection of fountain pens and stationary. The more common pens like Lamy and lower end Pilot pens are about the same price online, but with the benefit that you dont pay for shipping. The higher end pend have some better or worse deals than places like Jetpens or Goulet but the staff is friendly and willing to let you try them which is a huge plus. They have a great selection of Sailor pens that are difficult to find at other places (I got the Sailor Barcarolle) and they had the full selection of the Visconti Van Gogh pens. Not as diverse on the ink section, but they have a lot of Pilot Iroshizuku inks which are great.

Was looking for white ink for black paper. Was not sure what they sold. While the gentleman that I spoke to asked if I needed help quickly he seemed annoyed that I was asking for white ink and that I wasnt sure where to look. I then asked if they had left handed pens, he again was annoyed and informed me most people figure it out and dont need them. The store seemed to have a large and quite nice selection of fountain pens and stationary, but I would never buy anything from them. I own several fountain pens and was interested in buying a nicer more expensive one but immediately knew it would not be from here. The snobby attitude and sarcastic remarks from this guy was enough to not recommend this store to anyone.

Flax Pen to Paper is Papyrus on crack.Theyve quite the selection of paper products, arts and craft stuff like stamps, stationery, and fun items like pricey patchwork dolls, junky plush virus dolls, Hello Kitty lunchboxes, and coloring books.This Flax Pen to Paper location is spacious and attractive, fun to window shop in, with discounts every so often to take advantage of.Staff asked if we needed anything - we were fine by ourselves - and I picked up a Listmania book for my friend.

Its certainly not student-budget friendly, but if you recognize brands like Clairefontaine and Pelikan, youve come to the right place.

Seeking the perfect writing utensil is not an easy task. All three associates I interacted with, were knowledgeable and very friendly. After 25 minutes of browsing the pen selection, I chose the Visconti Van Gogh Irises which was gift wrapped for free.
