I was trying to donate my homemade chair, silver table, etc.. because of the holiday season coming. They have free pick up service when I call them. But their drivers were too picky. They told me how bad and how broken my stuff were and refused to pick up at all. I love my stuff. But It look like they were police and tried to find as much as problems they can. That is not nice and hurt to me. I talked with my friends. They said it looks like St. Vincent only pick up something they believed that are high value or easy to sell, so they can make more money. They have too many people need to donate every day. They dont care about how much love you put in your stuff. more fancy or brand new more better! Finally, I donated to Habit-- where they were more friendly and welcome. Drivers told me how sweet I am and of course they picked up all and sent me a thank you letter. I believe that is how the donate system works in USA.

Let me just say F*$% this place. This place is extremely disgusting and dirty, and smells awful. Still, that usually wont deter me from shopping at a thrift store. I had been searching for awhile for something very specific, a marble slab that would fit an old table that I have that needs a new top. Finally I found it here! I was excited and relieved but when I went to purchase this perfect item they couldnt find the price and told me they would not sell it to me under any circumstances?! I thrift a lot and never have I been to a place that would not sell me something because they couldnt find the price tag, they would just sell it priced like something similar. If they are worried about people removing tags, then when something doesnt have a tag they should just give them a price that is higher than what they think it should be! Seriously dont bother coming here, they are extremely rude and its not worth supporting a shady organization anyway.

Crazy prices on the clothes! I used to come here whenever I had some time to shop and and Id buy a cart full of clothes, the prices were reasonable so I could really treat myself and buy fun stuff andgo crazy! Now its so much more expensive and no fun to shop there. I can find better deals on ebay from the comfort of my couch or just buy new. Im not cheap but used clothes shouldnt cost more than new ones and thrift clothes should be cheap enough that people are inspired to buy a bunch of stuff instead of looking at the price tags and realizing its not worth the time and effort to sort through stuff buy one affordable thing.

We were going to donate 3 different pieces of furniture, including a beautiful dresser and a desk. They gave us a window of 8am-3pm and didnt wait 5 minutes before leaving and telling us they wouldnt be able to come back for another month. We were excited to donate these things, but having such a huge window of time of arrival, without a heads-up that they were on their way, on a Wednesday, when were working, and not be able to wait 5 minutes is outrageous. We cancelled. If youre thinking about donating, know they wont wait longer than 5 minutes for you to get off an important phone call.

This is a very large store. Probably one if the biggest if its kind. In the past I have found some amazing things here. This last time was not as good as before nonetheless I saw a few truly top tier items for a very reasonable price. They have some really amazing stuff and its important to buy used so we dont keep producing more stuff that ends up in landfills. However, the dresser I wanted would have cost $70 to deliver, and they dont go up stairs. Some furniture was a little overpriced for being used. One dresser was priced at $300 and its probably worth $1000, but another was $150 when its probably worth $50. Still, huge selection, the size of a mall, and lots of good finds. There is parking

I waited 3 weeks and took off work to be told they wouldn’t accept a computer cabinet saying it is an entertainment center - WRONG! It has a place for computer, keyboard, printer, router, etc with retractable shelves and cabinet doors and some storage for paper and work files. Very disappointed as it is in good condition and the reason is they dont take entertainment centers. I can’t believe a needy family with a student or a home office, or starting a business could not use it, if even for storage. I asked to speak to the supervisor because the woman told me she just spoke to her. Guess what? The supervisor was now unavailable and she didn’t know where to find her. She just spoke to the supervisor a minute prior. Supervisor was avoiding me because then the movers were told to leave by same supervisor on the phone. Unprofessional. The movers would not even help me move it to the curb (20 feet) so I can put a free sign on it. Now I’m out a days pay as well. Won’t use them again.

It is this reason we come here because we are different and want to help people in meed in anyway we can. It is a core to my real estate business. I recomend you to come and buy to help other people. Be different. We are in times where anyone can provide a service so what is the difference between anyone and how by obtaining our business they do something different in the grand scale of thing, the well being of humanity. As I grow my business through any refferals you can give me, I will constantly seek a way to help proportionately. At the end, in my heart is the desire to give my all to humanity to bring them to a whole new level. I hope I can make it. So, come and buy from here.

Hands down my favorite thrift store in LA and one of my favorite PLACES in LA. The merchandise is wonderfully random, eclectic, awesome, constantly evolving and the prices cannot be beat. This outfit is concerned far less about profits than about getting quality merchandise to people on a budget so that they can in turn put those funds to good use for the benefit of others. This place Has been my guilty pleasure since I found out about it. The greatest deal ever is Fill up a bag for $10!But even better than their deal, is the most wonderful staff of people. They are so helpful and very kind and all of them have such a great time in the shop! I was there once actually when they had gotten a karaoke machine and they randomly started playing songs and his people came in they would just hand him the mic I had so much fun I try to go to this place at least once a month I recommend this place to everybody in our little city!!My daughter and I came to St. Vincent de Paul because of the 10 bags. Everything was clean and orderly. I found nice shirts for my dude, clothing for myself and my teen found items she liked. All in all we had a very positive experience in this store and we will be back. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I came in looking for a VCR to transfer some old family videos and they tested three or four different players to make sure I got one that worked the best.Highly recommend this place. (I also scored some great vinyl and a rad old tie. All in great condition)This place is quaint and simple and the staff is super nice. Great deals too. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but they have a pretty high turnover of goods so you can always find something that wasnt there the last time. It also seems like they have pretty good quality control because their items seem to be in good repair with plenty of life left in them. This place is focused on the community around it. I loved the cashier because he gave me a great deal and great customer service. The environment is like any other thrift store, but wants to help their city. I loved them and really respect what their doing!

Glassware shelves are a hot mess, I decided to make the long trip here only to have found one small corning milk glass cup. The electronics section leaves much to be desired and I’m not going to even go into detail about the clothes as too many people at one time amongst the racks with no social distancing enforced. You might find some treasures and you might not, be prepared for that so you don’t get disappointed. I hate to put it this way, lots of stuff was actually meant for recycling or to be trashed, many items in terrible condition beyond restoration/repair. I will never forget those messy glassware shelves, they looked as if someone filled them up with garbage.

GW and SA can get really expensive and then the secondhand shops on Melrose, got really expensive over time and then to resell clothes you actually got from a thrift shop they did not want because it was not vintage designer. Well SVDP is amazing!! This is a place that took me back to that time when there where less corporatized thrift shops. This place is huge with so many layers of so many things. Love the discount racks especially. But yes, everything I could every discover, plus old school prices and color tag days. They had no price tag. I waited in line 20 minutes to get a price and pay and they wouldn’t let me purchase the dominos because they were missing a barcode. I said i would gladly wait for them to print a tag or if they could scan a similarly priced item. But they refused and said the item could not be purchased because it had to go back through circulation. As a non profit thrift shop, this is pretty shameful. Get a grip. Under no circumstances should you TURN DOWN MONEY or a customer eager to buy something. I even asked if i could place the item on hold until they can tag it, again they refused. I’ll never come back here and will be very vocal about this absurd experience. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME IN THIS DUMP.
