Its a well kept and great store,but almost everything can be found for cheaper online. Went to find a pair of youth small gloves, for football, an the average price was almost 30 dollars. Mouthpieces were listed for almost 10 dollars above what the online price was (Amazon). The only reason I bought the items I did was because of necessity. Unfortunately, times have evolved and online shopping is becoming the norm. I have no negative remarks about the staff or the selection, but I will plan better in the future and go online before I buy in store.

Found the shoes my husband was looking for (& on sale) with the help from nicest man that worked there. Went to check out & found out that Veterans got a discount (which my husband is) so we ended up with a bargain today.

The store was clean, we were welcomed as soon as we came through the door and the overall atmosphere was great. Unfortunately things were great for about 3 minutes, then it seemed to become a wasted trip. We live an hour away so I called the store and looked online before making the trip. We needed olive colored polo style shirts for my husbands work uniform. Online it showed they had some in stock and when I called they verified that they had 3 different brands of olive colored polo shirts we could choose from. So we immediately left the house. Some how during our hour long trip they sold out of all of their olive green polo shirts! The lady who was helping us was very unprofessional, talking badly about the store, how she hated working there, and how they never have clothes in stock. She leaned on a clothing rack and pointed us in different directions while texting on her phone, when we asked about khaki slacks. Beyond the young lady, the store itself was a nightmare for those in a wheelchair. The space between the clothing racks is so narrow, many times I had to find an alternate route to get to the items we were looking at. After wasting an hour and 45 minutes and not purchasing anything we decided to leave. Unfortunately they only let you exit one door and since we didnt purchase anything we were not at the correct door. So they asked me to wait for the next customers to come in and the door will open so we could exit. Absolutely not a handicapped accessible store. We came with the intentions of buying 5 pair of slacks and 7 shirts but left with nothing. We will not come back. The welcome was nice, the store was clean but beyond that, dont waste your time.

We had to get our little 10U baseball player this gear. He loves having the extra pads for sliding and the chest protector for protection as well.

The store is decent I suppose, Ive been in worse over the years. Its fairly clean but not always organized. Especially, the shoes, no order to the entire department at all. You just have to blindly dig around and hope the next box you pull down is even on the right aisle. Its usually not though. Havent really paid attention to the other departments mainly because Im done shopping after spending half a day trying to find the shoes that are on the website or sales ad. You can ask an employee for assistance and theyll smile and nod and just tell you that, Everything is out front, nothing in the back so if you cant find it, then we dont have anymore. For the most part, they just stand around talking and staring at people trying on shoes. I suppose theyre looking for theifs but with the electronic tags, detectors, and cameras, not really sure the justification for that position. Online ordering is not much better either. They send me the wrong stuff everytime so Im thinking their warehouse is as organized and managed as their shoe department. Dont get me wrong, Ill still shop Academy but I do not hold any delusions about the experience Im about to have when I walk through the door.

Id give zero stars if I could. I went in to Academy today to find a BB gun. Im standing in the aisle with the products and they have about a dozen different options. Im a newb when it comes to air rifles and the stock is all over the place. There is no organization, most dont have prices on the shelves or the boxes, and the prices on the shelves are obviously for other products. My wife and I are standing there, obviously confused and unsure of what we are doing while a guy is stocking the shelves with more merchandise, that there is no room for. I look over to the gun counter and there is a gentlemen working there as well. I yell out, Hey, how do I know how much these are?. He looks up at me, then completely ignores me. The guy stocking the shelf also ignores us. We left without spending any money at all. They seem to be more interested in signing you up for a credit card then helping you locate what you are looking for.

Rude!! Alyssa waited until we were about to check out to tell us she was closing!! She leaves while we stood in another line for 15 minutes, then she came back to check someone out she’d had been talking to!!!What has happen to customer service? She was rude and sarcastic!!

Difficult to get assistance. Limited ammunition. No fishing tackle sleeves for making leaders. Nice variety of sporting goods.

It doesnt matter if you have 15 people in front of you at checkout, you will be at a register and out the door in 5 to 8 minutes. You will not find a checkout that is that efficient in any other store. They also have the best selection of sporting goods in town

Good place would recommend them and the staff are very nice there just young and need to help the customers a lot more but overall they are very nice and very welcoming.

Good service, Ammo Supply is limited 2 boxes per customer which means there is usually enough for everyone when they got it !Just dont be in a hurry when you shop here because the checkout is usually pretty slow but its not that bad most of the time.

Academy is always a great place to get your outdoor supplies, its hard to beat their prices also.

Trying to locate an item that shows in stock for pickup today. I asked an employee where could I found the item, she said her shift was over and did not know where the item would be, she then walked away. Asked another employee who said he had no idea. He did not offer any assistance. Customer service clearly lacking.

Had fun and as always spent too much money. Its a good place to get everything outdoor.

I hate how this store is soooooooo messy. Finding an employee is a joke and the lines are always long. I only come in here when I absolutely have too. I did online pick up last time to avoid going into the mess of a store and that was way better.

Staff are super friendly and helpful..everyone was still wearing masks which was appreciated. We were able to get Hubby a Kayak, it was carried to the front and loaded in the truck by super helpful staff....so nice to have great customer service...they really seemed to enjoy helping us.

Id give it 5 stars but the check out was horrible my cashier was trying to check me and my son out we were shoe shopping and the some employee just came stood within inches over my shoulder and without a mask I personally dont like people so close to me so it made me really uncomfortable and while I had my wallet out felt like he was watching so I am from Houston tx and I was about to twick off on this fool lucky I had my boy with me and I like to set a good example besides this horrible check out it was ok maybe your employees should at least keep 6 ft

Great job Academy. I brought in a high dollar fishing rod with a broken middle eyelet. I had no receipt and they couldnt find the card on file that I used to purchase it with. As I only wanted an exchange, the young man made a decision and allowed the rod exchange to take place. Now thats the way to stand by what you sell. Thanks Academy! Thats the way I saw it.

They have such a great variety of fishing gear! Picked up a Lews Reel the other day and its already caught fish!

I was surprised to see a greeter at the door, and another as we were leaving. There was a great selection, and plenty of staff. I found 3 pair of shoes in my size and its hard to find!

Its your one stop shop for all your sports related attire and gear, as well as your outdoors activities to boot. Camping, hunting, fishing, hiking and kayaking. They also have an awesome selection of Yeti products. Hey they even have you covered if you need a lunchbox for work or school.

Found a great bargain on shoes for my dad plus a military discount.

I love Academy, most of the time I can go there and find exactly what Im looking for and I usually have no problem finding help from one of the associates . I highly recommend checking Academy out if you havent before especially for any outdoor or sport related activities . The only kind of negative I can say is that during the Christmas Holiday it was pretty chaotic and I couldnt find what I really needed for a Christmas gift for my son in the boot and shoe dept. Or the coveralls I went looking for, I also checked out the boys section to find my son some shirts or long workout type pants and it was such a mess that I just left ... I do understand it was the holidays and very busy but if a costumer cant find a quick item and they know exactly what they are looking for then they will probably just give up and shop elsewhere .

I ordered and had curbside pickup. The employee was nice and delivered my pickup soon after my arrival.

Clean store, when my daughter and I couldnt find what we were looking for, we asked and was lead right to it. They really know the store. Which is good.

Came here the other day to find a new pair of running shoes, and I found exactly what I needed! They have a wonderful selection of shoes and athletic wear and a friendly staff to assist you, if need be. They also run some great sales on ammo occasionally, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

I visited the store on a Sunday morning/early afternoon and it was crowded. The shoppers were masks and kept distances as much as possible. There was a great sale happening at the time lots of people were to be expected great place to get gifts for all ages.

They dont sell boys cleats in size 7 I was starting to think no one made them but thats not the case. Dicks Sporting goods had size 7.

Hi, I had a great experience in the firearm department. Mr. Branley was extremely helpful and knew about everything in the department which made my findings much easier. I was looking for a particular type of pistol which he went a showed me the pistol and a similar type too by a different maker. He was good at presenting the pistols I purchased two pistol for my wife and I. The team in that department work great together and has developed a relationship that makes the customer feel good about purchasing merchandise from that department.

Staff is real nice and helpful. Unfortunately we had to return something and they was so helpful with our exchange. The reason for return was no fault to Academy and we thank yall for allowing the exchange. It was also nice to finally walk into a store since this pandemic has started and see social distancing being followed. Thank you.

Academy has been a reliable source for ammo. They have also kept their ammo prices the same even as many other stores jacked up their prices.

Longviews Academy is a much more friendly place to visit, when compared to the Tyler location. Good job to my East Texas neighbors. Will most definetly return.
